Vanilla Extasy

Oh how I wish I had bought this first instead of "Vanille Absolu". "Vanilla Extasy" is a peachy-vanilla-floral beauty of a fragrance. The Vanilla and Peach really stand out and it layers perfectly with my "Egyptian Musk" to give the combo a masculine kick. I think that this fragrance does not have the longevity of other fragrances as I get about 3 hours out of it before it becomes a skin scent, but when it's shining...IT'S SHINING!! Just smooth creamy peach milkshake all over...lovely, sooooo lovely! The Ylang-Ylang in this is showing me that I do indeed adore that fragrance note and it pairs perfectly with vanilla and fruity notes. The Jasmine in this fragrance is at the perfect amount where my eyes aren't watering, but I get the full impression of the fragrance note and feel it in the body of the fragrance wear. The Apricot and Apricot Blossom in the opening equate to PEACH to my nose...AND I LOVE IT!!!! And while I love the overly sweet candy-vanilla in my other fragrances, I think the moderate level of vanilla in this fragrances is appropriate as it lets the florals and fruit notes shine. While "Vanille Absolu" was decanted and used in another fragrance build..."Vanilla Extasy" will stay. In fact, I'm going to order a backup bottle this week....as this fragrance is like the sweet little Peach-Vanilla sister to my older-brother Peach-Musk fragrance, "Nabeel - Gold 24K". Hmmm....I wonder what they would smell like combined....

Yes, like others suggested, this smells similar to Flowerbomb, especially in the opening, although both fragrances have quite different notes. If you connect scents with colors like I do, this is the golden orange version of the pink Flowerbomb. A wonderfully sweet vanilla with a bouquet of transparent flowers and lots of patchouli. Compared to FB I find the patch in Vanilla Extasy a bit dustier and less clean, which I find interesting in this context. There is also a strong lactonic apricot note which makes me understand why some have voted that this is similar to CSP Vanille Abricot. Vanilla Extasy is a more complex and multifaceted fragrance, but the vanilla-apricot combo is the same, especially in the drydown. Benzoin gives lends perfume the finishing touch with its balmy, almost caramel-like warmth. The final drydown is not close to Flowerbomb anymore, so this is not a dupe despite the resemblance in the opening. Vanilla Extasy does not reinvent the wheel, but what it does, it does very well. If I ever feel like buying another thing in the Flowerbomb family, this would be a contender. It's not a typical Montale, many of their fragrances are somewhat sharp and borderline metallic, this is softer in texture. That doesn't mean it's week, the longevity is on par with other stuff from this house.

OK this is now my 5th montal fragrance (I have Mukhallat, chocolate greedy, Vanilla cake and intense Tiare) and this is the only one out of all 5 that I truly, TRULY love. Mukhallat is OK and so is intense Tiare. The vanilla cake and chocolate greedy not do nice. Which is why I was worried about blind buying again but went ahead and did it. This is a gourmand floral. It's not the same as the cakey chocolate greedy or vanilla cake. I know gourmands usually means edible bit this isn't edible. It's a vanilla floral. I really do pick up some similarities to flowerbomb(although not exact or dupe) which is why I love it so much Flowerbomb is my signature so that's probably why I like this so much. Having said that, I am picking up quite a lot of wood in the dry down. Vanilla, Ylang-ylang and a creamy sandalwood. I dont think its going to sit as pleasnt on me when the weather warms up but I'm so glad I took a gamble on this. I don't even get that synthetic vibe I get from all other montal fragrances. Whilst this doesn't have the sillage or longevity that Mukhallat has, it's still decent. I sprayed two blasts on at 10:00am and it's only just becoming a skin fragrance now at 18:15. Currently on offer for around £60 on allbeauty in UK for 100ml

This opens very sweet but soon settles into a very luxurious, rich sweet woody scent. It’s not what I expected but I like it a lot. This is what I imagine a rich trophy wife dressed all in white would smell like. I think it’s a very easy to wear fragrance, smells very versatile, could be worn by teens or middle aged people, it leans more feminine tho. The notes I smell the most are sandalwood, vanilla and ylang ylang. I also smell a bit if lavander when it’s freshly sprayed. Seems like such a perfect summer scent, it’s a very lightweight vanilla. I wouldn’t label this fragrance as gourmand tho even tho it has heavy apricot and vanilla notes, it’s more of a woody floral scent. I would not repurchase it though because the sillage is a bit too low key and the longetivity is bad. It lasts maybe an hour and then becomes a skin scent, a bit dissapointing for a Montale fragrance. I currently have the 50 ml bottle of Vanilla Extasy but if the longetivity was actually good i’d buy like three 100 ml bottles of it because it smells so heavenly and luxurious.

How funny, I tested Vanilla Extasy today without having been reading the reviews. I logged in to write a review and to say how similar it is to Flowerbomb, but I see others have also noticed the obviously haunting similaritiy of the 2 perfumes. However it was Flowerbomb who stole my heart first so I will stick to it, I honestly think it has better longevity despite of not being a niche. I like Vanilla Extasy, it is a very nice, deep, sweet but not too cloying take on the ever so popular vanilla. Good longevity and sillage. Great for nights out and for cooler days, very easy to wear and likeable but after trying Sweet Oriental Dream and Mukhallat, Vanilla Extasy is a bit of a quiet one to me. I am still in the process of testing this line, but Mukhallat and Sweet Oriental Dream remain my favourites out of Montale`s oriental vanilla offerings, each of them are one of a kind and incredible sillage monsters.

It was an interesting purchase. Yes, it’s not exactly vanilla, it’s more of a woody-like perfume to me. Many people said it’s something between cozy and sexy at the same time, and this one is currently one of the most complimented fragrances in my collection. Firstly it opens with ylang-ylang, apricot and vanilla, but when it sits up after a two hours it makes all cozy woody vibe. I bought it in summer, and it doesn’t make people around you choke and beg for forgiveness (even if i spray too much), but it definitely something i would’ve wear “to go” at every season. I would’ve say this perfume may be something for a relaxed day in a good boogie restaurant, but I give 0 fucks about perfume etiquette and I will use it everyday. I must say it’s still blending into something a little sweet on me, but i’m sure it will actually be good on a young man too. Oddly comforting smell of a bad bitch in disguise.

A little bit of Extasy, yes indeedy! This is truly a lovely by montale. Yes it does remind me of flowerbomb...but I like this wayyy better. Its funny the name is "Vanilla Extasy" but really what I get from the start is more of the apricot and floral tones I only start to pick up on the vanilla the more it develops. It's kinda sharp in the beginning to me but that quickly dissipates, && honey I'm sure it didn't get its name from being shy...this is a I'm going out on the town to the club so I want to feel/smell sexy kinda scent, and I certainly feel sexy wearing it. It's targeted only for women do I care...eh no...fragrances are to enjoy a labels a label...wear what you like, plus I'm gay so I deff. don't care. I love it && everyone I recommend it to falls in love with it too, longevity is fantastic; duh it's Montale, && projection's no joke! well worth a try! :) Overall: 10/10

I find Vanilla Extasy to be impressive. This is a sweet fragrance but as it wears it becomes deeper and woodier. It's the blend of mahogany, sandalwood and resins that ground the fragrance and make it truly unique. I get the comparisons to Flowerbomb but Vanilla Extasy is on another level and it's slightly more mature. As with most Montales, this fragrance gets better and better as the time passes. The silage is strong so be careful when you apply it. 1-2 sprays is enough and the longevity is outstanding. I always get compliments when I wear this because it leaves a glorious trail as you move, without being offensive. Vanilla Extasy is a vanilla, apricot and mahogany dream. I love it!

I was actually quite surprised as I was expecting another Flowerbomb clone, but nope. Vanilla Extasy belongs to the same fragrance family as Flowerbomb and LVEB but fortunately, it's a different scent. It's woody and balmy, a typical Montale. Personally, I would never mistake it for Flowerbomb or LVEB (and I find those two extremely similar to each other). I've avoided it for a long time because of the name, but actually, you don't get much vanilla from it (or at least, natural-smelling vanilla), which is a plus for me. Very likeable, indeed. upd I must agree that it's similar to Flowerbomb and LVEB but maybe more resinous and gourmand (I can smell rice pudding).

I don't get flowerbomb at all. This is a soft vanilla but not too sweet. I get vanilla, delicate flowers briefly and then a soft and woody incense. Unlike other Montale fragrances, this is a soft intimate scent. Most Montales are rich and pack a punch. But this is not punchy or offensive. The flowers are top note but they soon fade and vanilla, resins and woods linger. I love it. It's different for a montale. Flowerbomb is a lot heavier on the flowers and the vanilla is sweeter. It's not a soft or gentle. Longevity is great but this is an intimate fragrance.

I will admit at the start of this review that I normally dont like Montale fragrances as they just smell so chemically. Luck must have been on their side when they created this as its not bad. Of course its a floral, fruity vanilla gourmand but I think I could actually wear this on a nice crisp sunny autumn day. Its very strong at first like many Montales but it mellows quickly It reminds me a lot of Jessica Simpsons Fancy range of fragrances so dont expect to smell expensive. Decent longevity and sillage.

Wow, this is really pretty, something between love and like. When I sprayed this for the first time, I was disappointed. It smelled really sour, like some fruit went bad. After a while, it became this vanilla-apricot scent, that heavily reminds me of my childhood in Eastern Europe, when my mother made jam from apricots that grew in our garden in summer. I really like it, I will probably purchase full bottle. Enormous sillage, my mother told me she could smell my perfume when she was in a different room.

A delicious floral vanilla, very reminiscent of Flowerbomb but without the patchouli. It feels softer, more “innocent” It has decent projection. Ultra feminine, with a slightly vintage vibe that brings back early 2000s . It also feels quite youthful and versatile , perfect for the office, casual outings, or even date nights. A fragrance you can wear almost year round, especially if you love sweet, creamy florals. I really love it, but the longevity is very poor ☹️

One of the most interesting vanilla fragrance i've ever smelled. A spicy woody gourmand that doesn't remind me LVEB, which I love, neither Flowerbomb, which I dislike at all. IMO VE is unique I can't do any comparisons with other perfumes. I wish I could test Malles Musc Revageur asap, I am wondering if I will love it or not, but I'm sure I'd appreciate the quality and the uniqueness either.

Lovely. Extremely addictive, loved it and ready. Which mixes vanilla with hot and slightly creamy benzoin. Our now rather a magnificent blend of vanilla and benzoin with hints of ylang-ylang but very light. Very hard on me the smell, and of course the projection is strong. I rank it like this: Smell: 10/10 Projection: 9/10 Longevity: 9/10

Perfectly coying vanilla! Love it! I initially get a blast of benzoin/vanilla that is fruity with apricots. A sugary delight. Absolutely yummy. An hour later it's grounded with woodsy notes. Perfect for fruity vanilla lovers that want something sweet that lasts all day.

This is a winter staple for me! Men seem to drool over vanilla scents and this is by far the biggest head-turner I've had. A little goes a long way, I don't need to reapply it and I can smell in my hair at the end of the day.

Sweet but more spacious take on vanilla. Extasy is a wonderful composition, I got a peach(turned out to be apricot) and benzoin adding to what is a more floral vanilla with jasmine adding to that feel. It's very nice and is unisex, even something I'd wear but I can't help a slight association with the more feminine aspect of apricots and peach with a gentler less full on Vanilla. Just from a point of view...I'd like to smell this on a woman rather than dismissing it being worn by a man. Calming, lovely more faultless perfume from Montale...lasts well too and makes itself known...not quite as deep and long lasting as Montale Vanille Absolu but projects more and still has excellent longevity.

This isn't the kind of ecstasy you encounter in a soft wave along sateen cotton sheets, the kind you ache for, the kind that clings to your hair and smell on your fingers. There's no juicy lover, no beauty to wake to come morning. Nay, nay. "Vanilla Extasy" is heavy, bloated, and cramping. If you keep a box of fragrance samples, with each sample secured in its own air-tight baggie, Vanilla Extasy will still overpower the whole box and leave you flinching. It's just way too much, like talking about the children you'll one day have to a new lover. Too much, too soon, in a very off-putting way.

This was NOT what I was expecting! A splash of fruit and flowers. Where is the vanilla. But wait, there's more! Now comes the drydown. The woods interrupt, and I SWEAR I get patchouli. The apricot is still there, and the vanilla sets the pace, though it's not overwhelming. Basically this turns into a lovely fruity floral that I enjoyed wearing for the test, but would not spend money on. . . only because I don't prefer this genre of scents. If you love Fruity Florals with vanilla, this just might be ideal for you!

I am not a huge fan of Montale but I’m positively surprised. I was hoping for more vanilla but it kind of fades into the background for me. The apricot hits me first and it’s quite pleasant, jasmine always provides something a bit more feminine and sensual. It’s ambery, sweet and after a while quite cozy. It really reminded me of something I smelled at some point and I couldn’t put my finger on it but I think there’s a similarity to the first fragrance Jimmy Choo released which I also enjoyed.

I agree, it's very easy to wear. You can wear this one in winter and in summer, too, because it's not too heavy (as Sweet Oriental Dream is) and not too sweet. I mostly feel apricot marmelade in this one. Very eatable, fresh and deep (because of the benzoin?) at the same time. Sillage is medium (it's a 'come closer to me if you want to eat me' scent, I think:)) and longevity is great. I use my little sample together with Bvlgari Petits at Mamans, on my skin they work well together.

so, i've come to the conclusion that i LOVE benzoin. as soon as i smelled this on my wrist, i was reminded of amarige mariage (which i loved) and i was instantly drawn to it. i was hoping for a more powdery vanilla, but this might be a good alternative to amarige mariage which can be a bit overpowering if you are not careful. i'm looking ahead to the fall and looking for a nice, warm scent to carry me through the chilly days. a contender for sure.

Vanilla Ecstasy is a very sweet, feminine and seductive yet comforting perfume with great performance on me (I see the reviews are mixed about this aspect). It is quite heavy and better for the cold seasons. I have not had Flowerbomb, but this reminds me a lot of Abercrombie and Fitch - First instinct which I loved. This one is sandalwood, vanilla and flowers. I did not like any of the other Montales, but this is very nice.

Lots of...not even layers, but stages: 1- boozy 2-ambery, still serious 3- final drop to feminine floral and spicy, pretty much mass market flowerbomb/black opium. Interesting, although there is not that much vanilla, as you might think from the name. In fact, it`s muted by several other notes that are at least as loud, if not more. Not much apricot, for that try Pure Gold by Montale. Overall: Not bad. But nothing unusual.

Sherapop, were pretty much on the same page here. Definitely for vanilla lovers, but I for one, am rather inundated by rosy-vanilla-aoud and my olfactory system needs a rest! Having said that, I find it more pleasing than most. I don't think it's like Flowerbomb at all, quite a few notches above it and from a different lineage.

What a nice, sweet and balsamic vanilla bomb. Spicy, sexy and warm. It's made for women who love sweet and comforting things. Very good for winter. There is some similarity to the La vie est belle fragrances. Amazing, rich gourmand, a product of quality.

I feel more ylang-ylang and benzoin than vanilla in this fragrance. Long-lasting and screaming as almost all fragrances by Montale. Actually, not interesting, imho.

Not very original. Vanilla is slightly blurred by fruity tones and re-opens a secondary protagonist. Montale did better.

I am so happy I did not blind buy this perfume but ordered samples instead. I am vanilla sucker, I dont mind to have 3 vanilla perfumes as long as its gourmand, creamy vanilla without any white flowers (I am allergic on white flowers, my skin cannot even stand them in perfumes). Vanilla extasy is what everyone is writing; my skin catches a lot of floral citrusy notes at the beginning, I honestly did not detect any vanilla in the beginning at all. Once it settles down it transforms towards fruity smells with hint of vanilla. I still smell a lot of floral notes. its not a bad perfume but not what I was looking for. I would not say its sweet, i would say its more citrusy fresh smell rather than sweet gourmand vanilla

Considering this perfume was released in 2008, I think some people could find this dated. In terms of a lot of body scents and perfumes since then have smelled similar. Not to say that anyone can replicate Montale perfumes-because they all have a similar base. At first, I could not smell it at all. On skin it doesn't stay much and smells much different than on clothing (Which is the best option). It stays on for 3 days at least on a shirt. To me it smells like sweet sandalwood that has a crisp champagne note. But it is sweet, warm with just a tiny bit of an earthy smell to it (which I find in most Montale perfumes). It is not ground breaking but I love it !

A prettier, more luxurious LVEB. That being said, performance on LVEB is slightly better than this fragrance. It does project a little bit at first, but becomes a skin scent rather quickly. It does stick to hair and clothes, and you can smell it occasionally through the day but its performance is no where near as good as other Montale fragrances.

If you want a true vanilla fragrance try Vanille Absolu instead. I tried this at a store and this one has way less vanilla and more of the woody and floral notes. I noticed that people are comparing this to Flowerbomb, and I think it is a bit similar in style. Personally I didn’t quite like it because it was not what I was looking for.

Reminds me a little bit of some of those Manceras that have vanilla slapped on the name but in the actual perfume the vanilla is barely there. At some points I can smell a faint vanilla, other times this just smells like cheap apricot shower gel. Also this is one of the more moderate Montales when it comes to performance.

A very un-Montale scent. Vague floral w/ very vague fruit. Vague amber comes forth in drydown, along w/ vague woods. Nothing special & no vanilla to my nose. A nice, albeit vague, everyday scent.

It smells like flowers and fruit. I do not get a lot of vanilla. It is a good fragrance, fun, sweet and tropical but for winter. There are better options, but it is not a bad choice at all.

b o r i n g. Smells like a super basic perfume. For sure it smells better on a drydown - more deep and balsamic, but still - not worth it.

I was so relieved to see Flowerbomb as a "reminds you" of perfume for Extasy. At first whiff, I liked it okay--vanilla and wood. I really liked the resins and woods initially, and thought, "Hmmm that's an interesting take on vanilla--bringing out a deeper hum, less sweet." That didn't last. Half an hour later, and I was thinking, "Where have I smelled this 'common' fruity and 'berry' smell before?" I was thinking it had also some aspects of Angel (I'm one of the very few, a total minority who don't get patch or choc but VANILLA and KILLING RED BERRIES with Angel). So, this to me is Angel meets Flowerbomb--both of which I really don't like much. It's a borderline scrubber to me. On the one hand, I can appreciate that many people like this as they do FB and Angel. And, the silage and longevity are pretty good! Points for that! But the negatives become a "too sweet" vanilla that smells generic, done with heaping doses of berries. If that's the apricot, I'm super bummed because apricots and peaches (a light helping, mind you), is fantastic. This smells like cruel, evil red berries, glowing in the dark along with heaping doses of synth vanilla. The resins and woody bits fled and it's just the usual warm woody-musky dry down that I smell with a lot of recent releases.

The famed "radiance" maker, iso-E-super is in abundance in Montale Vanilla Extasy (sic), as it clears my sinuses and nasal passages within a couple of minutes of application. So what we have here, essentially, is vanilla-flavored iso-E-super! That may be a slight simplification, as I also smell benzoin, but mostly this is a vanilla-tinged radiance bomb. In the drydown there is a fruit jammy cast, but I cannot identify the fruit. Does this famed source of radiance induce ecstasy in perfume wearers? Judging by some of the reviews: yes! Others seem to find this composition too sweet, but it's really a lot less sweet than most vanilla perfumes, so probably those people need to steer clear of vanilla in general. For those who like vanilla in perfumes, Vanilla Extasy is definitely a unique take and stands out from the crowd, as I know of no other creation like this one. Whether one will like it is going to turn entirely on one's opinion of iso-E-super, it seems to me.

Who wants to smell like chocolate cake? Sometimes you eat so many sugary desserts that even thinking about dessert makes you nauseous. This scent makes me feel like I'm in a sugar coma. Although it has no chocolate or cocoa in it, it smells like chocolate cake and hazelnut chocolate wafer. Maybe if I was 10 years old it would interest me, but I worry about going into a diabetic coma. Stays on fabric for over 8 hours. The rate of spread decreases after 4 hours. If you leave a room, your scent will still be felt in the room. Projection: 9/10 Sillage: 9/10 Longevity: 8/10 Fragrance Quality: 2/10

I love fragrances that surprise me, and this one really did. I was not expecting the bright fruity, floral hit at all and was delighted by it! What a beautiful beginning this fragrance has... and the dry down is just as nice with a light, warm vanilla with hints of the fruity floral underneath. On me it is not a gourmand even with all the fruit and vanilla, but a nice, soft, classy vanilla. It lasts a good long time and the sillage is very low key on me. Not a loud or heavy fragrance at all. Nice.

It smells so gourmand when it radiates off of my skin and up to my nose--like waffles with cherries. I don't even smell apricot or much vanilla, just waffles and some sweet, syrupy cherries. There is nothing Oriental about it. It is indeed a softer scent, as many have already mentioned, and I find myself spraying more after a few hours. Smells identical to Flowerbomb yet somehow seems less chemical.

Based on the notes I expected a sweet vanilla gourmand. However, the vanilla, while there, it is much weaker than the notes suggest. The santalwood and the woody notes are more prominent, and they make it a masculine scent. Neither scent is overpowering though, which makes the whole perfume rather meh. I'm glad I only ordered a 2ml sample vial - goes to show I really shouldn't ever blind buy.

I was seriously disappointed with this. I expected luxurious syrup vanilla. Got too many flowers with a hint of a fresh vanilla in the back instead. I can't wait to sell it or exchange it for a true vanilla perfume.
