Suggestion Eau d'Or

I had three samples of the 3 suggestions(argent,or,cuivree).This golden one used to be my favourite.Bright but cool and crisp.Not a typical floral.I normally dislike violet but it wasn't strongly felt in this composition.The green notes along with the orchid and the musk-amber base are the main players.Not a sweet scent despite the peach/vanilla notes.A metallic overall feeling,common to all 3 metal-waters by Montana,makes it really suitable for evening wear with golden jewlery.Glow adding.Cool glow-like a yellow moon-not the warm kind of sunshine glow.

This 1994 version is wicked beautiful. Light, close, green, soft powdery violets, aldehydes. There's a hint of underlying hyacinth, orchid (both give it a little sharp edge like pepper), musk and sandalwood in the background.

I finally chased it down for an acceptible price. This perfume must be discontinued, because the greedy ebay sellers are shamelessly price it to match Dior perfumes. This is a lovely fragrance for summer time, and just like most Montana creations not ordinary or generic. Green and floral notes with amber base make it warm and cool at the same time. There is something about it that makes you think of liquid gold. It is not the same but on the same band wagon with Lalique de Laique. For me personally, it lacks intensity for evening wear, but it is perfect during for day time wear. The longevity and sillage are average....on me it stayed on for about 4 hours.

After wearing it for a while I wanted to add that this fragrance is not the best of Montana in terms of its sillage and longevity. Something along the lines of Tous Touch. If you want something along the same lines, my advice is go with So De La Renta by Oscar instead, or Jadore if you want more sophistication.

A beautiful nose-tingling floral melange, mostly violet to me. Does give an 80s vibe.

This is like a tranquilized and muted version of the 80's power-perfumes. At the back of the bottle (I have a tester 100 ml) it says: "Tonality: bright, iridescent, tender with bergamot, jasmine, peach and vanilla." And again: "Three expressions of the same floral, sweet, musky heart: freesia, violet, mimosa in 3 tonalities: Eau d'Argent, Eau d'Or, Eau Cuivree." So, if I understand correctly, ALL these three different Suggestions are built around freesia, violet and mimosa (for some reason freesia and mimosa are not listed above in Perfume Pyramid). Anyway, what I get first from this really stylish perfume, is greenness with fruits: fresh oranges/bergamot but soon especially peach. However, comparing peach here to 80's peach-including compositions, for example Kenzo (original), this one is very well-behaved and polite, not at all aggressive or selfish. There is enough room for other notes, too. Later I can detect some flowers (I think orchid and rose and perhaps some freesia), but the bunch is not fresh anymore. That could be caused by musk, vanilla and other base ingredients, which appear rather early. The result is kind of sweet and warm. Lovely! So, if you are looking for white and cool flowers, you don't get them here. This mixture mellows rather soon BUT that doesn't mean that d'Or is weak. Sillage is sufficient (no monster) and longevity very good (it stays a whole day on me). Eau d'Or is a remarkable perfume. If you like "old-style" scents with a lot of nuances but find those 80's odours being too much, this could be your chance to enjoy complexity and certain lightness in a same bottle. Pity that nowadays it is difficult to get. If I were you seeing this somewhere with a price tag not too high I would grab it immediately...
