Neroli Letters

Neroli Letters by Montblanc joins MFK's Gentle Fluidity Silver as my top two favorite "airy" fragrances. This fragrance is not loud or attention seeking, it instead finds magic in subtlety. This is a crisp and clean neroli scent that feels like summer at its most serene. The addition of bergamot combines to give the neroli the airiness of catching a faint scent in the breeze. The patchouli anchors this composition back down to the skin, where it invites closer inspection. I do also need to praise the heavy and elegant glass bottle that the scents in this collection are presented in. The Collection by Montblanc has blown me away with the sophistication of the compositions while being at a comparatively awesome value for other scents of this quality. $160 for this feels like a really solid deal, and even better when found at discounters. Patchouli Ink was my personal first, and it demanded that I try out its partners in this collection. Neroli Letters is the newest of this line, and it may arguably be the best among them yet. I look forward to seeing (and smelling) what comes next.

Im baffled that some reviewers hate this. It's refreshing, bright, clean and slightly soapy. To my nose, most all Neroli frags smell like sunscreen. TF's Neroli Portafino, comes to mind. Neroli Letters is one of the few that's got enough green going on that it balances the fragrance away from smelling like I'm downwind from a family of five at the hotel pool. The citrus top is what I wanted Chanel Superleggera to smell like.

Beautiful floral and citrus neroli scent, completely unisex and amazing for summer. Almost sunscreeny, cheaper alternative than tom ford neroli portofino.

Its just clean, nice and masculine. Underrated asf in my opinion more people gotta know about this This fragrance literally screams "Spring"

Very simple, light, ethereal, mildly sweet neroli note. Quite feminine and Aphrodisiac.

A surprisingly longstanding Neroli. It actually lasted over eight hours on skin. Albeit being a little too green in the opening for me, the over scent was very likable for me.

This is so good. If you want a gorgeous blast straight out of the 1970s, in the best possible way, give this a try. Shades of Nina Ricci's Capricci and Bigarade, YSL's Y, the original Dior Eau Sauvage, and maybe O de Lancome -- all the good citrusy--herbaceous--soapy--sexy ones -- with its own personality. Unisex. Safe for work but not boring. The top notes carry the most memories of the '70s, but the mellow middle and bottom notes are equally pleasing. Niche lines like Initio and Mind Games and Parfum Marly try sooo hard and cost way too much for what they actually offer, in my opinion. Meanwhile Montblanc is busy putting out scents that truly smell good at a decent price point (their patchouli is fab, as example). Snobs can go on overpaying if they want to -- but they're paying for brand recognition, not scent quality.

I sprayed this on my arm Saturday night an hour or two before bed to compare between this and another neroli-heavy scent I had purchased that afternoon. I was still smelling it quite strong Sunday morning. After my Sunday morning shower, I could still smell it against my skin. It's now Monday evening and I can detect just the faintest trace of it still. Incredibly long-lasting for a freshie. Not only does it perform well, it smells exceptional, as well. If you love neroli, as I, I would consider this blind buy safe.

My reading is different. Leans masculine to me, like the entire collection, and patchouli make it heavy and tacky, more appropriate for cooler seasons, in spite of marketing position and bergamote-neroli profile.

It is an elegant citrusy parfum, elegant and rather unisex. I really enjoy it and it is very easy to wear all seasons in the office. The only thing I miss is longetivity
