Marshmallow

MOR Marshmallow I was touring Jerusalem with my best friend. We were lost having gotten separated from our tour group while admiring the Wailing Wall. Jerusalem is an ancient city that existed before the idea of city planning, so it’s rather like a maze. We were feeling lost, confused, and disoriented. All of the sudden, we both felt a sudden wave of peace and love, and smelled what I’ve come to know is called “the odor of sanctity.” It smelled like a million freshly cut roses permeated the air, like what I imagine a rose distillery would smell like. That rose smell has haunted me ever since. I’ve searched for years for a perfume that would replicate the smell. I’ve come to know and love various rose themed perfumes in my search, but I always felt somewhat disappointed because nothing replicated that smell. I became so obsessed, that each time any of my friends would travel anywhere outside of the country, all I’d ever ask for was for them to bring me some rose perfume from where ever they went. The closest I ever came to finding that scent was from a gift from my Mom. She bought some lotion from a little vendor on the side of the road who made handmade rose lotion from the agave at the tequila distillery where he worked just outside of Mexico City. I have guarded that lotion with my life because it brought back such a wonderful memory. I acquired a large decant of MOR Marshmallow through a recent swap. The swapper knew of my love for rose perfumes, but not about my search for that particular rose smell. The moment I tested this, I cried. It is exactly the scent I’ve been looking for for so many years! For me, this is the Holy Grail of rose scents. My search is finally over and I am so incredibly blessed.

Marshmallow by MOR is all about roses with lots of powdered sugar and musk. It reminds me of a big, lush powder puff. If I had to describe it with a color, I'd say pastel pink. Not a complex scent, but I absolutely adore it for what it is. The ultimate comfort fragrance, in my mind, and perfect for those gloomy cold winter days. It's my happy fragrance and a healthier, more lasting substitute for stuffing my face with pink candy floss (we all have those days! :) It does have floral notes in its heart so it stands out among many other "sugary" fragrances. So it's not that simple either.. But you absolutely need to love powdery fragrances to appreciate this one. I own both the spray- and the roll-on bottle. The roll-on (oil) stays close to the skin and doesn't change much, while the spray (edp) tends to grow bigger and muskier as it envolves. I prefer the spray, but a word of caution: one spritz on the scarf is enough to envelop you and keep you warm and happy whole day. :) UPDATE: I store all my perfumes properly in a box in a cool cabinet. Despite that, the juice in this bottle (edp) went from pale blush color, to deep rose cognac. I had this bottle for about 4 years now and to me it only smells better with age. It has developed a rich boozy note that was missing in the beginning. I love it even more now!

I am wearing this right now, and I'm in heaven. Initially I get a burst of pure rose, almost a fruity rose; but it loses that fruity note as it gradually morphs into the long lasting stage where a powdery rose is overlaid with sugary musk. It's as pretty as pink silk chiffon, it's lush like a rose garden in full bloom, and it's retro like Frank Sinatra singing "that old black magic has me in its spell" - except that this time he's singing "that old musk magic" - in this case, a sweet soft powdery musky rose, fairy dust magic. Longevity is pretty amazing, still softly wafting even after 12 hours. The product range is extensive and the price range is wonderfully affordable. Update: I first met this frag as an oil with a rollerball, part of a giftset. (I've since purchased the spray.) There must have been a crack in the glass of the rollerball - I was unscrewing the lid and it stuck, and when I tried to force it, the glass broke and the lid came away with the rollerball stuck in it. Oy. Well, it was unusable at that point, so I poured the rest into a miniature antique pitcher and basin washbowl set, popped in some cut down diffuser reeds, and now my home office is totally fragranced with heavenly marshmallow. Wish I could post a photo - it's the cutest thing!

WOW this is so beautiful! I didn’t expect to fall in love with it as much as I did. It’s such a gorgeous and sweet feminine scent 💕 It’s a very pink and fluffy scent. Think kilian love don’t be shy, but instead of the orange blossom swap it for rose. They are by no means dupes but they both have this syrupy pink candy vibe. It is a very syrupy and sweet rose with powdered sugar on top. It just smells so beautiful and delicious but luxurious at the same time. If you love super sweet sugary rose scents and if you love turkish delight then you will love this one. Also, yes I agree with everyone saying this smells like musk sticks which is a bonus for me because I love them!It doesn’t exactly smell like marshmallows but I nonetheless adore this fragrance. I can easily see this becoming a signature scent for a sweet fragrance lover🌷🎀🍧 This also lasts a very long time on my skin! I’ve become so obsessed with this marshmallow scent that I bought the matching lotion, body wash and body scrub, so now I’m in marshmallow heaven lol Also, the bottle is so pretty in person, and the juice colour is a very vibrant pink!

Going by the name and pretty pink packaging of the product I didn't expect to like this perfume at all. I expected it to be too sweet, innocent and little girly. And while it is sweet, to me it definitely has an exotic edge to it that conjures up images of Arabia or India. I find the rose and musk combination far from childish or girly (although my 4 year old daughter loves to wear it too!), I actually find it quite sensual and sexy . This has become my new favourite out of my growing collection of perfumes, and I have worn it daily since I bought it. I have it in the the perfume-oil that you apply to your pulse points, and I think that the perfume in this form also adds to the sexiness and exotic feel. Despite the fact that this is quite a commercial, easily found (in Australia), and reasonably priced perfume it definitely makes you feel special and unique, and would be perfect for romantic occasions. I'm not sure if it would be the same in the spray version, but for the perfume oil this is definitely true. Have I said yet that "I love this perfume"? Well I do!!! :)

I first sampled Marshmallow about 10 years ago and loved it immediately, however, I never ended up buying a bottle until now. I recently tried the perfume oil, which inspired me to buy a 100ml EDP. It is ultra sweet - potently so! It is more of a floral fruity gourmand fragrance than an oriental vanilla. There's a tonne of fresh roses, which last for eons, then after about 5-6 hours I could smell some subtle jasmine, and a very prevalent vanilla and cotton candy musky finish (even a hint of honey). My husband thinks it smells like those pink musk stick lollies! It is a gorgeous scent, not for those who hate sweet scents though! I'm so proud that Australia has produced a gorgeous, indulgent scent! I'm really getting into MOR products and can't wait to sample some more of their fragrances! Another thing, if you love roses in your fragrances, you MUST try this one! The staying power is amazing and the silage will fill up each and every room of your house!

If this scent was a person, she would be a preschool teacher who looks like Marilyn Monroe, dresses in pink and white lace and blushes frequently. It is a beguiling concoction conjuring rounded femininity and innocence at once. This scent is a gloriously sweet fragrance, vaguely gourmand, faintly reminiscent of musk sticks but more like some kind of rose confection. The carnation, in its true clove form is present. There's jasmine and a suggestion of Johnson and Johnson's baby powder. There is a substantial difference between the edp and the rollerball. I have been using this fragrance since around the time it came out, until very recently though, only in the rollerball form. I got the edp last week and was quite surprised to an indolic aspect to the jasmine in the edp. This is not a criticism. This saves the scent from being cloyingly sweet and adds some complexity.

This brand is luxe and just stunning, I own many of their collection but Marshmallow has to be one of the creme-de-la-creme of their scrumptious scents. I absolutely adore this perfume and it will inspire men to want to nuzzle your neck, women to ask you constantly what you are wearing and many children to ask you for the candy they assume you are carrying in your pocket! Haha I know because I am a Kindy teacher! Smells exactly as the name suggests but EVEN better. Musky, delicious and sweet but not in a completely little girl way, I'm 30 and I think I can definitely pull off wearing this sweet confection easily. And honestly, who cares if I can't this perfume is way too delicious to hide in the back of my cupboard! ;) Oh yes, and it DOES smell exactly like those musk stick lollies!

They've remade the bottle design and it's now a plain one, not nearly as gorgeous a representative of the frag inside as the other one was. Delicious, sweet but not horribly so, floral, rosey, maybe honeysuckle, just love this. If they ever reformulated I will phone and abuse! Please leave this beauty, and make it forevermore. Lots of love <3 Ok, if you're not a fan of sweetish vanillary flowery ones this ain't for you, the main accords looks right, it stays pretty true to the first spray, mellows a little but doesn't change I don't think. This maker has wonderful soaps and hand creams etc as well as frags. I smelled this in someone and just had to try it. I find not so many shops have this, it's more a boutique offering than department store at least where I am.

I had a whole review written out and somehow it got deleted thanks to my terrible internet. So I'll just say this-- I agree 100% with Maddlesbubble's review.: musk & roses. HEAVENLY! No other word to describe it, really. It's sweet, yes, but not the average cheap pink tutti-fruity perfume that I was expecting (I was expecting something similar to Aquolina's Pink Sugar). It leaves PS behind in the dust. The sugary rose is tempered by the musk and the result is something totally unique and much more grown up smelling than you'd expect. I'm in the US, and we don't have musk sticks here, so I'm not sure what they smell or taste like. However, if they taste as good as this perfume smells, I am pretty sure I would eat nothing but musk sticks for the rest of my life ;)

Absolutely divine! This has got to be the best blind buy ever!Just got the gift set today with the body lotion, the soap and the EDP. Just thrilled. To me smells like the a baby's skin after they take a bath with violet body wash. I have nothing like it in my collection. I'm a lover of rose scents so this one was a no brainier. Rose, Jasmin, musc and vanilla play in harmony in this scent. It's got a bit of powder in there giving it an innocent angelic touch. I don't find it overpowering or overly sweet, just perfect. The weather is super hot right now. I'm definitely going to wear it to a party that I have later on tonight!

This is absolutely beautiful. Not much like marshmallows, really, but I get the connection. It's a sweet, pink, fluffy scent. I use Demeter Marshmallow lotion with it, and that brings the rose, musk and vanilla into gourmand territory. This is a bright and sparkling fragrance, the rose definitely a sugary, candied rose. The longevity amazes me....about six hours with good projection for me, and I have perfume-devouring skin normally, even with lotion. I find myself reaching for this quite often, and it always makes me feel happy. If you love gourmands and you love roses you will Love this. Gorgeous.

Pure, photorealistic pink musk sticks. Absolutely joyful and divine. There is no marshmallow which I like. I tested this for the first time when it was in the older packaging, the cushion cut bottle. The liquid was also a light pink colour. It lasted for about 30min. Tested it again last week in the newer, flat glass bottle. I checked the website and the bottle might be changing again. The liquid is a dark pink-orange colour. Excellent longevity and silage. 8 hours later it was still going strong, had to go to bed so don’t know if it would last even longer. Seasonal all rounder. Love it. 💗🎀🌹🌸🍬😋

I actually got the scented soap bar and the oil before the perfume. In my honest experience, the oil was amazingly strong and cloying. It was such a sweet burst of cotton candy and candied rose. I could only dabbed a bit because it was that intense, it really put me off buying the perfume for awhile but then, I decided to try it again and my god, the alcohol content really tempers with the sweet concoction. This reminds me of a delicate ballerina would wear; beautiful, sweet and fragile. I've always been a lover of gourmands and this is perfect.

I've loved & used MOR body products for years, but never looked at their fragrance range until I received a tester of Marshmallow recently. It's deceptive - I expected a fragrance named Marshmallow would be sickly sweet & not my cup of tea - but when I wore it, I found it fitted me like a glove. The rose notes are dominant but not overly sweet - I think the musk balances it nicely. It's quite long lasting & as a fragrance through winter & spring, has been perfect. I'll definitely be buying the full size bottle.

I’ve hit my early 30’s and I suppose this is the age where you start reminiscing a lot more & feeling nostalgic. This scent is such a beautiful sweet musk-stick rose crossed with the most gorgeous, what I would call ‘fancy marshmallow’ but really it smells more like a Turkish delight. I remember why I loved this scent so much as a kid. It’s likely the scent that helped inspire Kayali’s YBM because this is very similar (just more floral & probably smells a little more ‘dated’). An absolute classic to me.

I love this scent - it's perfect for a rainy grey day here having lunch in a cozy cafe nestled amongst the native NZ bush overlooking the sea. Softness, powdered marshmallow indeed but musky and almost faintly smoky in sillage as cocofluff mentioned below. This is gently sweet, nothing cloying or obnoxious here - really enjoyable and I'll be using it all along with the matching lotion I was gifted (which is equally gorgeous). Tip: use the perfume as a hair mist, it smells angelic!

Marshmellow, summer, rollerball. Roller is justlike theperfhme spray. In my top 20 love scents. Its sweet, clean, white? Musk, rose, "rounded clean powder things" I smellediton someone else and loved it. Oh, this has a similarity to narciso, the clean rounded rich fluff unxiousness. I prefer this type of sweet with a clean aspect (a cheapie example is purr by Katy Perry). Rather than gourmands with dessert and fruit etc. I still like the latter but the above is my preference.

Forever the scent of being a teenager set loose in an early 2000s department store to me, in the best way. Clean, soft, pink, and sweet. I had the lip balm, the hand cream, the candle, the fragrance, the soap. I wouldn’t wear it by itself now, it’s too simple and too much like fairy floss and musk sticks for me in my middle age, but I’d pick up the tin of lip balm for some nostalgia or maybe add the spray to a more grown-up fragrance if I wanted to mix some sugar in.

I've worn this fragrance now for years, it was love at first sniff. I remember always spraying this on when my mum worked in a small gift shop and just being in love with it. I'm on to my second large bottle and it never gets old for me. It definitely does smell like musk sticks and Turkish delight which is why I love it so much, they are in my top favourite scents in the world. This perfume also settles into a soft floral vanilla skin scent and lasts all day on me.

Smells exactly like musk sticks!!! awesome scent if you want to smell like the inside of a candy shop, great for people looking for a super sweet perfume after a while the super sweet musk stick scent lingers on the skin and starts to smell more warm like toasted marshmallows... on my skin at least, not sure how it will turn out for others but definitely give it a shot as the fragrance smells amazing even inside the bottle

There is only one word for this......DEVINE. Having said that, if you don't like musk, rose, or sweet, it's not for you. But if you do, you can't get a better scent. Silage and longevity are the best I've ever had in my life. I love this so much, I'm going to permanently shelve my large perfume collection and just keep bottles of this in every room and cars.

this perfume is VERY skin chemistry dependent. it's very fond in my memory worn by my childhood friend; it was warm & sweet and like rosewater and musk sticks, but on me it genuinely smells like skunk spray until it dries down. i much prefer it in cream form as it instantly warms to the musk stick, turkish delight scent. i will still always love this scent.

A delicious fragrance. Got a roll-on of this from my mum many years ago and tried to find it for years ever since the label wore off. I can wear it any time morning to night and nobody has ever disliked it. Sweet without being thin or insipid. One of three I always keep in my purse. 10/10. Adore it.

A very strong and very sweet perfume, but it's not a juvenile sweetness. It's a very rich, decadent sweetness. Definitely smells like musk sticks, as many people have said. It makes me think of Sophie Coppola's Marie Antoinette, particularly the scene where they're eating all the cakes and pastries!

I've tried the perfume oil. It's a very lovely perfume, gives a sweet smell with a mild candy-like quality without being overwhelmingly sweet or gourmand. Definitely does not smell like other marshmallow perfumes I've tried, so if you're looking for something like that, this might not work for you.

I love this! Very pretty. Don't be fooled by the name this is a woman's perfume. So long lasting. I wear this almost everyday, in fact I keep on my bathroom counter that it would be nice for the bottle to be more decorative. oh well I guess don't judge a book by its cover or name!

MOR Marshmallow Perfume Oil roll-on review: Powdery, sweet, fluffy marshmallow dusted with confectioner's sugar downplayed by a touch of musk. Cozy and yummy, yet very lady-like and polished. I'm wearing it today with a baby pink lace cardigan and my grandmother's pearl necklace.

I am loving this one to bits! Any Gourmand lover would appreciate this one. Very feminine and delicate. I finally found a Rose note that works for me. BTW I have the new bottle design but I'd rather have the one pictured here, it is very pretty, I wonder why they changed it :(

Oh my gosh its divine Its absolutely beautiful. Its a bit marshmallowey but it more resembles turkish delight or musk sticks. But thats what i love about it, very powdery and beautiful. Gosh i love it so much its such a gorgeous sweet scent!!

This is my signature scent. I just love the warmth that radiates from this fragrance. The initial smell reminds me of a cigar, then as the fragrance dries down you get this lovely smell of florally musk like the musk stick lollies.

This is gorgeous and powerful. It is EXTREMELY sweet. It does not smell like marshmallows though. It smells like pink musk sticks. It’s more rosewater than rose. Lasts all day long, such great performance. I adore this one.

This perfume,tends to be heavy, to me its a unique scent,cant tell whats the dominating scent inthis. Others comment they can smell flowers and vanilla,overall a very nice perfume.the body care range is very good too.

This is so soft and feminine. I smell sugar-dipped rose petals. The hand cream is glorious. This is a nice night time smell to put on after a hot bath. I imagine this is what Marie Antoinette would have smelled like.

I actually love this scent. Not sweet on my skin. Longevity only 2 hours which is a downer. Reminds me of musk lollies rather than fairy floss. Much more suited for colder weather as it can be too heavy for hot days.

I have loved this scent from the moment I smelt it, sweet, fluffy, temping and so delicious. You love marshmallows you'll love this but it's smoother, with beautiful vanilla and floral delicately accompanying it.

This does not smell like Pink Sugar, Hypnotic poison...or anything else on the market! This is original, classy, elegant and unique...unlike any other I've ever smelled!

Marshmallowy, Turkish delight, musk stick, sugary goodness.. I can't get enough of it. It's one of those fragrances that smells so good you wanna eat it.

The sweet rosy muskiness of MOR's Marshmallow is surprisingly complex. Guest moi says it all really. I love just a little in cool weather.

Soft, sweet (not overly, just right), ultra feminine, silken, heavenly. Amazingly pretty and beautiful scent. In love...

My impression on first spray on paper strip was old clothing mingled with moth balls, mixed with powder and rose scented potpourri. After a few minutes when the sweetness came to the foreground, the musk stick vibe, that other reviewers mentioned, took over. Then, after about half an hour or so, the must stick receded somewhat and left some space for my first impression melange to come to the front again and now Marshmallow is a happy sweet melange of old clothing mingled with moth balls, mixed with powder, rose scented potpourri and musk sticks. Oddly enough, I like it very much, but I fear I cannot leave the house smelling like this. So, I will cherish the little sample I have until it is finished and probably leave it at that or, if my hubby can cope with the scent (he's a difficult one) I might use it as an at home/bedtime scent. Also, the association with Marie Antoinette is spot on. I could indeed imagine her doused in Marshmallow. Edit: I sprayed one spritz on my pj's last night and woke up sadly to an enormous headache. So, it won't work as a bedtime fragrance for me. I think it might be the strength of the scent (fantastic sillage and longevity) and the rose. I have a difficult relationship with rose in scents and so it is here again. I will stick to So..?...Kiss Me for at home/bedtime...

This is a re-review.... I have to admit to a 180 degree change to this fume. I had tried the perfume oil roller, and as I put it before "sweeeet". My daughter had snuggled up to me and said I smelt like marshmallows... and I was wearing Bvlgari Rose Essentielle, so I had a rethink about trying Mor marshmallow Today, I received the body oil 100ml spray. I decided it would be a good base for spicier scents. And I also wanted to experience what other reviewers had. I still wouldn't classify this as sexy on my skin, but it is gourmand and sweet, but a calmer sweet, rather than tooth ache sweet. My daughter wouldn't stop sniffing my arm all afternoon.... So, thinking she'd identify the marshmallow scent, I asked her what she smelt and she said vanilla, the older daughter identified rose, and as for me, I get a smoky musky sweetness, slightly rosey scent. There is a smoke effect from one of the elements, and its lovely. It lasts forever... and I think its a great addition to my fragrance wardrobe.... cosy, comforting, and I only wish I'd given it a second chance a long time ago. Oh well, fellow fragranticans, you've set me straight.:}

The first time I tested this I wasn't blown away. I thought it was a generic sweet rose, nothing like a "marshmallow" that I was expecting. I cast it aside and planned to forget about it. But for some reason I actually couldn't stop thinking about it. I searched through my entire house to find the discarded sample and reapply. And then I suddenly died and went to heaven in an out of body experience. In this heaven there is nothing to do but eat but rich buttercream cake in a rose garden all day. EDIT: The drydown, which is several hours later, is fluffy marshmallows, and fitting of its name. It's not the most natural smelling composition, maybe its a touch too synthetic for others, but this doesn't stop me from loving and craving it (evidently). Sillage is massive, and longevity is really good. I wish there were more size options available for the spray, but I'll be purchasing a full bottle of this sometime soon, regardless. This is a highly underrated gourmand rose GEM!

~*Review for the Eau de Parfum*~ I got this in a gift set that included the perfume, hand and nail cream, and the bar of soap. So far I used everything except for the soap. This is a yummy combination that I really like. I know a lot of people say that this is super sweet, but to me this happens just to be sweet. It smells like a expensive bar of soap to me for some reason. Mainly it is a lot of roses that have been steeped in sugar, for a very long time...I also get a strong clean musk and there is creamy sweet vanilla which keeps everything together. Its pretty good for a sweet musky rose. Sweet, simple, and nice would be the perfect way to describe MOR Marshmallow. Though for anyone expecting is to smell like marshmallow might be a little disappointed, considering the title might be a little misleading. It also has lasting power and I love the matching hand cream it absorbs into the skin pretty fast and is almost the same scent as the EDP.

So, I tried the new Marshmallow Petals today and I don't know if it needs time to settle first but, it's very weak almost like a body spray that's been watered down to make it last. Smells pleasant though, definitely unisex at first spritz on skin like a watery (aquatic the word?) cologne but becomes softer after a few minutes. Slightly green, musky, sweet, marshmellowy. Violet is starting to show. Stays quite green on paper so test on skin. Probably need a decent amount of sprays for this one. Nothing at all like the original which is very strong (slightly sharp on me) and fragrant. Mor seems to be taking a softer turn with their new fragrance, usually I find their brand to be quiet sharp or heavily floral. Final thoughts: It's nice but I wish the sillage was better. I might need to try it again once it settles and the weather warms up, it may shine more in the heat.

I am wearing MOR Marshmallow today, on a cold December day. I got the 50 ml bottle @lookfantastic for 32€. They stock the body lotion, scrub, body oil, hand cream and body cream. What do I feel about it? It's definitely not a marshmallow scent although it's a gourmand. It's sweet but not too sweet like pink sugar. I get strong roses, sugared rose petals, more precisely with a musky twist, a bit powdery and a hint of vanilla. It's a bold, sweet, floral perfume, with a vintage edge. I see a Lolita, powdering her face in her boudoir, wearing a silk pink robe, very coquette and a bit naughty. She knows she is sexy and she loves to take her time getting herself ready. She uses Marshmallow as an amulet, to enhance her feminity and confidence. Seductive, decadent, beautiful, romantic and complex. One of a kind! I can totally see Marie Antoinette wearing this! :)
