White Duke

I smell this and I hear the song Diamond Dogs by David Bowie. Respect to the original White Duke Gabriele D'Annunzio but the Thin White Duke gets all the modern attention with this fragrance. I get a definite dark tweed and linen lunch in an autumn garden sort of vibe here. The music is classic David Bowie circa 77-81. The presentation is subtle but opulent. It feels in the hand like an item of distinction with the weighty cap, the textured paint lines and the crystals on the front badge. Its lustrous, heavy and just dense feeling. The slide out box with its little courtesy card inside is a nice touch to the black felt bed. But how does it smell? I hear you ask... Stunning. Vibrant. Mysterious. These all come to mind. There's a darkness in this fragrance that seems to be set at the back like a looming shadow that never quite comes forward but keeps everything else just a bit on that side of the line. It definitely has a vibe similar to Interlude Man but the Amouage is harsher and more aggressive in the open while the Moresque here shows more refinement and almost a delicacy with how it delivers the same notes but with a less "smash you in the face" approach than the Amouage. I'd go so far as the say that it is in this distinction that the Moresque earns its keep as the more expensive but it does so with great success. The spices, amber, incense all blend through the mid to the dry down in such a smooth and warm, comfortable way that it's a much higher echelon of date night frag than Interlude as well. It'll challenge even some more developed noses but all in all it's a fantastic and beautiful fragrance in a terrific presentation. Fragrance - 9.5/10 Projection - 8/10 Sillage - 7.5/10 Longevity - 8.5/10 I will give this a definite recommend if you are a fan of this sort of fragrance at 8.5/10 overall.

I have never tried interlude, so i couldn't tell if this is a copy paste or not. What i can tell is that i enjoy this perfume a lot. Without taking a look at the notes i get a sense of lime, dill and amber. Kind of fresh, but also warm. Thats why i was a little surprised by the notes that are listed here. Very interesting even though i think it is pretty linear. What stands out most for me is the performance. I posses baraonda and alexandria 2 which are one of the most powerfull fragrances in terms of projection and longevity. This one might not have the same projection as the other two but the longevity is out of this world! Days after i used just 2 sprays i could still smell this on my clothes, and it was strong! Even though i find it a very inviting, non-offensive and (yeah sorry) unique fragrance, its not a safe blind buy. Originality: 7.5 Projection: 7.5 Longevity: 9.5

To me it smells exactly as Amouage Interlude and Myths Man love child would smell like. With performance not as beastly as Interlude, but better than Myths. If this type of fragrances is up your alley, White Duke would be a safe blind buy, full bottle worthy, and not redundant. When it comes to similarity with M. Micallef RedColorado, I see where it comes from (both being more airy take on Interlude DNA), but White Duke doesn't have pine component dominating RedColorado.

I initially dismissed this as the opening was nothing special to my nose. Then an hour or so later I got a great smell similar to one of my all time favorites Dhofar from Xerjoff. Anyone who misses that, as it's discontinued, could try this. I have Interlude Man, Black Iris and Interlude 53 and to me this has close to zero similarity to any of them.

A balsamic and spicey amber incense piece. Think an unintense Interlude, with a bit more going on. Nothing but somber florals, even the Patchouli in the drydown, sweetens it up just a little bit. Smooth, solid, to me this is an all year round, I think dark amber scents in the summer are pretty neet. Very green, everybody that's into Geranium, Sage, resins and Incense scents all together will luv this one. It's not too experimental, it's very well built. Luv Moresque, started with the Emiro blind buy, all I needed to hear was that it's a refined Emir by Micallef situation, and since Emir was one of the greatest Grapefruit Ouds for me, still is, so just had to go with it. It's exactly that.

Spice superactivation on the -1°C, 30°F outdoors, get the almost sour Sage Thyme predonimance for a good while, no citrus, no amber really and no incense, at least not the incense warm smoke. All spices and resins, doesn't warm up or get to dense on the hefty five puffs, so so much going on when sniffed from up close, can't get nose of off it haha. Neat, it's a propper Moresque.

A variation of "Interlude Man" by Amouage... It's exactly like a tuned down "Interlude Man" with an extra clary sage, & thyme> Bit sweet from the amber and nothing more to say. Fair & already there, nothing new. Edit (13th Sept 2023) I really don't know why! everytime i spray this on my skin i get the frying pan scent! it is like frying something and it is very oily!

Majestic perfume as it’s name refers, not for every one neither versatile.It shares a lot of similarities with Amouage Interlude Man (Nice copy, nice past).
