Tonkatonic

Balsamic boozy hence its name and with an unexpected berry-like impression in a candy sweetness from the benzoin-coconut-almond. I find this very similar to Police Potion Arsenic having the grape-berry-like candy sweetness from the coconut- myrrh and orchid with the boozy quality of the tobacco-tonka, and they are both my favorite perfumes, although Police came up with the idea first. I also just received dua's impression of Tonkatonic and it is equally nice called Tonic of Tonka which has better lasting power on me, even though Morph's notes smell more rich, more high quality. It is a beautiful solar tonka scent with a resinous sweetness and a candy-like freshness from the coconut and almond. The coconut - almond- tonka -benzoin- orange blossom- ambrette blend is reminiscent of the tonka- coconut - ylang ylang - myrrh of Police Potion Arsenic and as I said they smell very similar, only the latter is more green and like grape with that milky cinnamon nuance at first, even though Tonkatonic is quite milky from the coconut too. They are both solar but also deep scents. The fig gives a nice herbal hay-like vibe similar to the tobacco leaf in Potion Arsenic. Tonkatonic is a smoother more playful scent as it lacks the tobacco. dua's a Christmas Gourmand is in the same league with its cognac, berries, tonka, brown sugar, cinnamon, almond and chocolate milk, but it is a festive cozy chocolatey version without the resinous benzoin or myrrh candy sweetness of Tonkatonic and Potion Arsenic. I have Milkilicious of DUA for Blance Bete and they are quite similar with Tonkatonic in regard to the candy-like sweetness and the sweet musky ambrette, but Tonkatonic is a deeper scent with other elements to it that I described above and without the indolic florals of Milkilicious.

Wearing this right now, I sprayed the bottle at Esxence. This is the queen of almond scents. So beautiful and luxe. I also get Jasmine, orange blossom, a bit of tonka and coconut water. I sprayed it yesterday on the blotter, and couldn't stop thinking about it. So I came back today to try it out on skin. Even at Esxence, so many people are asking me "what fragrance are you wearing?" it's this beauty!! This reminds me, a tiny bit, of the now discontinued Tom Ford Orchid Soleil, and a bit of Aerin Hibiscus Palm. And add almond, marzipan goodness.

Tonkatonic smells soft, creamy, and sweet. It opens with almond and coconut water, then settles into warm notes of tonka bean, jasmine, and sandalwood. I don’t really get the fig. The overall feel is cozy and smooth with a nutty sweetness. It is not very strong but feels comforting and easy to wear, like a soft blanket in scent form.

Such an amazing fragrance if you like tonka and blanche bete!!! Loved it from 1st sniff ❤️

On initial spray, I get prominent blast of the almond and a freshness from the fig. Not too sweet and not a thick boozy almond like Orgasmo. Very light and fresh almond lifted by fig. The mid floral notes are wrapped in the benzoin which is very pronounced. This reminds me of a fresher and less spicy Psychedelic Love. I don’t get a milkiness like some, so it is not like Blanche Bete at all! It is a wearable and fresh almond fragrance. The almond dies down towards the base of a powdery tonka. I appreciate that there is no musk in the base because that would ruin it. An effervescent tonka cocktail is what this is. Mature, interesting and different enough that it belongs in my collection as an almond lover.

My absolute favorite perfume is Blanche Bete. I’ve been looking for something similar but a little more potent and hoped this would be it. I blind bought Tonkatonic and it’s really good but I don’t think it’s similar to Blanche Bete. There is something a little similar in the opening, but that doesn’t last long. BB is more feminine and pretty. Tonkatonic is less floral and spicier. So my search continues! If anyone has a beast mode BB recommendation, let me know!

I'm pretty 'meh' on this one. It's really soft and creamy but not as complex as I'd hoped. I don't get the fig or orange blossom at all-- just vanilla right out the gate and that seems to have the most power. I also get almond and sandalwood and a little play-doh but that's where it stops. If I am going to reach for a perfume in this family, I much prefer Sandalwood Temple by Sana Jardin.

Orange blossom and ambrette is dominant here. A bit of warmth from the benzoin and slight sweetness from the fig & tonka. I can see the similarity to Blanche Bete but BB made me gag when I tried it but not Tonkatonic. It's ok, not a standout for me and a bit harsh in the drydown. Gonna pass on this.

Pleasant tonka-vanilla combo, not overly sweet, not lactonic, just a nice gourmand fragrance. I'm not into this kind of scents but I must admit this one is well done. Performing very well as well.

don’t know if anyone mentioned it, but the smell reminds me of play-doh very much. blanche bête opens more beautifully for me

I strongly dislike this. Smells like blanche bete but even worse. It has the same yellow floral note that blanche bete has. I think it smells like ylang ylang, although not listed. It has a very strong projection, overpowering for me. I think if you like blanche bete this is a safe blind buy.

I don’t like this brand who make generally dupes for less quality. This one is clearly Blanche bete witch I already own. I prefere gave my money to first brand creator. its so easy to copy on back of other !!! This brand is a hard pass for me.

disgusting smell on my skin, slight playdoh note

it does not work with my skin, this smells horrible on me. Idk how to describe it, it's a very intense icky dirty smell, like something that went bad, like flowers that stood for too long in a vase and died and they started to reek + tonka bean

It’s very nice but it does smell very similar to Blanche Bete which I love so of course I enjoy this one too but I was let down that it was so similar since I wanted something new to me. The tonka in here sets it apart though from BB and it wasn’t as lactonic, those were the main differences to me when comparing side by side. Still for me it wasn’t worth owning both so I sold my bottle but if you liked Blanche Bete and wish it had some Tonka in it and was a touch less lactonic then I’d say you should check this one out, it’ll be great for summer! Great performance as well. Blanche Bete always gets me compliments and this one would be no different I’m sure as it’s easy to enjoy. I actually think it’s less “challenging” than BB. Great release just a bit redundant for me.

I keep coming back to this fragrance. There is something so soft and cozy about it, it feels just like a warm hug. The skin-to-skin kind. It is very close to Blanche Bete which I do not mind, I was told Tonkatonic is actually an extract and I do feel like it lasts longer than BB. Projects a bit more as well. To me, this reads very feminine. This is perfect for everyday, an office setting, I would even wear this to bed. I'm a huge fan of tonka bean and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that there was a coconut water note AND a fig note, which serves as an amplifier do he coconut. Beautiful fragrance.

First I tried the sample which I bought from the Morph website - sweet creamy, vanillic - very lovely. And it did NOT smell like Blanche Bete. So I ordered a bottle. But to my surprise, when I sprayed from the bottle - well, hello Blanche Bete 😅! I like BB very much, but I did not want another almost identical one. Honestly the sample was milder, sweeter leaving a lovely fragrance on the skin....

Not bad. This came in a mystery box. I hate white floral but I love tonka. So what the heck. Give it a shot says I. Nose to skin tonka and cinnamon. Radiating off of me, jasmine, almond, fruitiness, then a little tonka and cinnamon. I find this to be wearable but I am not enjoying it but that is only because of my dislike for white florals. I could be wrong but this feels like quality.

This has NOTHING to do with blanche bete. Its a dustier version of mazzolari alessandro. If you want this but a million times better, less dusty, same aroma but more vivid more wearable and more younger but also better performance please try: swiss arabian tonka or bdk velvet tonka. They are excactly the same sweet tonka vobe but are much better than this one. Thank me later

90-95% identical to Blanche Bête. Slightly nuttier, not as sweet or lactonic but almost indistinguishable on the drydown with the creamy white florals. Edit: I find that Blanche Bete doesn't perform as well in colder weather so I use this as an alternative in the winter where it’s quite cozy and cocooning

A nuttier take on Blanche Bete. But still very similar. Blanche Bete is beast mode though, Tonkatonic disappears after 4 hours on my skin. Their another bestseller Zeta is a clear knock-off of BR540. So Morph is basically a niche dupe house...

Very cozy, smells like a less lactonic and more warm tonka take on Blanche Bete, but for me personally it's missing the touch of something strange and special that's in Blanche Bete.

Idk what this smells like but I love the bottle. It's so beautiful with the white lid. I'd love to try some from this line.

Smells like marzipan, Play-Doh or Baby Born toys and lasts quite long. My new love💕
