Mosaic Eau De Parfum

I’m a little surprised to see so few reviews here for Mosaic. It’s a really comforting woody vanilla-musk that leans slightly masculine. I bought it based on the story and (really, just gorgeous) bottle a few years ago, and promptly forgot about it. Bringing it out today, it’s a much deeper fragrance than I remember. The oud takes a backseat to the sandalwood, which has a really bright note I normally associate with Santalum spicatum. I also get a hint of clove and cardamom, which warms it without having a specific “holiday” feel. If I had to throw comparisons, it’s less pungent than TF Tobacco Vanille, but deeper than Korrigan by Lubin. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s a shot of serotonin without being sugary. A little goes a long way— I’ll never be able to finish the whole bottle on my own, so I left it on my husband’s vanity in hopes I’ll be able to smell it on him this autumn!

Woody aromatic vanilla, from beginning to end; delicious and warm. The opening had something a little bright and sour that I could not identify. I thought it was saffron but it was oud, I think. I am not really good with notes. Whatever it is, I like oud now.

Greatest perfume there is. I only can buy them online which is a shame, but their service is great so I guess that's fine with me.

Like vanilla and bubblegum. Reminds me of middle school...In a good way?

I enjoy this scent very much although it is very soft for my usual preference. I find on me it is mostly woody, followed by vanilla-ish, and not very much musky. I sampled years ago, and am sampling again because I wrote it down as one to come back to. I REALLY wish I adored it because it is a stellar, unique bottle. Alas, I would never want that much of it, even though I'd have to re-spray a lot to live with it where I want it. I will just keep it on my list of things to occasionally sample. To me, it is a fall day or evening scent without enough boldness to be inappropriate anywhere--sometimes that's a good thing...

Just another over-priced, run-of-the-mill, vanilla, musk & sandalwood, spicy fragrance. Nothing marginally new, unique, special, or outstanding about this one. Linear and dull. Presents as a very juvenile perfume, something a college kid might wear. To me, this fragrance smells like Jovan Musk Oil on very low dose steroids. And FWIW, I think it's OUTRAGEOUS Mosaic "Eau de Parfum" fetches more than $150/50 ml. The price is disgraceful. Not sure how these things get priced. On a positive note, the bottle is pretty.

Simple and Plain: Mosaic is bash-proof only if we're talking about the scent itself. My first venture into this oud/vanilla world was through Scentstory 24k followed by Telaal, Raghba and then Kalemat. Out of the 4 frags i've named, Kalemat is the preferred option. The good news/bad news is that Mosaic smells very similar to Kalemat. You have to ask yourself, do you really want another Kalemat doppleganger in your collection? Try this for size: Mosaic is the most expensive Kalemat smell-alike I've come across. For me, Mosaic's value is strictly based on uncommonness. Here's something worth mentioning: The brand is also working to support African women's rights and lives. Mosaic donates a portion of their profits to AAUW, a national grassroots organization that empoweres women and improves the lives of millions of women in Africa. If you're into philanthropy and/or "going left", I'd suggest to check this out otherwise, stick to the Raghbas and Kalemats for it offers more liquid(100ml vs 50ml) for a cheaper price.

Oh my, the oud is ruining it, it gives the vanilla a sour milky undertone..it is like almost too much to handle..l am enjoying reviewing those niche vanilla scents, but none is really wearable to me..Mosaic is very exotic., it is like oozing with a rich vanilla...I suppose the lovers of vanilla would enjoy it..it is like strong, and certainly not shy.. As for me, vanilla isn't my thing, but this one is definitely very well done and more feminine...

Vanilla woods. Cloying vanilla type of wood, with bits of musk. Nothing special about it.
