Yeah, I sorta "went ham" reviewing this scent and giving updates bc it'd changed so much from when Id initially sprayed some on after having recieved it, that it sorta blew my mind and got me excited to share my experience throughout.. Anyhow, don't be super discouraged when ya first open and spray your bottle of Cheap & Chic because at first it'll seem SUUUUPER weak and smell "rough around the edges", and it would fade away quite fast (4 to 5 hours becoming a skin scent after the first hour), and although not super expensive, at the time I really felt dissapointed bc for about Forty bucks I could've gotten something much more "substantial"..Well fast-forward bout 3 weeks later, I just sprayed some on again and Cheap & Chic has definately "Opened up" bc it NOW smells FANTASTIC, Super-Fresh, Semi-Aquatic, Zingy Florals with slight greenery and the fragrance is much more potent (Still not a beast or anything) and it really does last much longer (I can very clearly smell it the next day on clothes and between 7 to 8 hours on skin.) Its still NOT something that'll be crazy projecting or off-putting, yet it can be over-sprayed bc its NOT a weak fragrance by any means (IMO 6 to 7 spritzes making sure to get some on your clothes and you're set for the entire day and into the evening.) Man, whatta difference "Maturation" makes in certain fragrances! It honestly NEVER ceases to amaze me. Anyhow, yeah if ya loved this fragrance back in the day, but are now afraid to get it bc of a "Bad reformulation" and are afraid that it wont last or project because of that.. DON'T BE! Just remember to be patient, spray a bit out and give her some to to WAKE THE HELL UP!!! Lol. Maybe 2 to 3 weeks at least, but a month would be ideal. Oh and again, it really is quite "unisex" with a slight Feminine lean. I feel that the "Green-ness" the Petitgrain overdose offers is what makes Cheap & Chic quite unisex, so fellas, dont be afraid to try this one out and especially if you enjoy florals and/or Petitgrain like I do .. A bonafied Blind-Buy SCOOORE!! So enjoys Guys and Gals!! 😉 ---------------edit 5/29-------------------- So, its been only 4 days since I'd purchased and tried Cheap & Chic for the very first time, and I've been wearing the heck out of it bc Im really enjoying it! Now, I've put quite the dent in my bottle bc I've had to "over-spray" bc althought it does lasts a decent amount of time, it (was) quite sheer. Well four days later and the fragrance has thankfully become more substantial! (Love it when that happens☺️) Its much more noticable, lasts a bit longer and the florals have BLOOMED! Im a guy, and I originally felt that Cheap & Chic was perfectly "unisex", and it still is, buuuut it now feels like it leans a tad more feminine, although guys can still EASILY pull this gem off no problemo and thats possibly bc if the "Green-ness" of the Petitgrain. So YES! Now more than before I feel that this reformulated Cheap & Chic is STILL very much worth a pick up by Women or us Fellas!!...I AM LOVIN' THIS JUICE😉🤎🤍🖤 I now consider Cheap & Chic a solid 8 outta 10! -------Original post 05/25/25:-------- Very "Unisex" leaning slightly Feminine-aquatic/floral/fresh scent, a very soft scent which actually has decent projection, and actually sticks around on skin for atleast 5 hours lingering as a skin-scent for much longer. Also, I can clearly smell it on my clothes the following day which is pretty suprising for a seemingly "soft fragrance",, So, Im a guy and feel Cheap & Chic can come off as "Feminine" on the ladies and more "Masculine" on us fellas bc it really does depend on our chemestry. Also there is nothing"Overly-Floral" or super Feminine about this dna, plus the vanilla is pretty much undetectableto my nose, and just adds a bit of a "creamy" back-bone which plays super well with the sandle wood.. Also, Initially I was really dissapointment at how sheer and weak Ceap & Chic seemed when I wore it for the first time last night a few hours before bed.Then I woke up this morning and could still smell it on me!😮 Well I put a bit more on today after my shower, went over to my mom's house and her care-giver complimented me on my fragrance. I asked her "Really? You can smell it? She then mentioned how she likes that it's "Soft" and inoffensive, yet she could really smell it as soon as I walked into the room.". And here I thought it had very poor projection which is seemingly NOT the case. That makes this fragrance a perfect "Work-horse/Office-Scent" as it will NOT offend others around you, its very pleasant, clean and actually lasts. Now, I have found that a whole lot of older fragrances that are now considered "Cheapies" arent allowed to properly "Macerate" before they are sold, and that's so the frag-houses can cut corners and save a lil' cash. Therefore after some of the fragrance has been sprayed out by us consumers, it then "Maturates" and becomes more substantia over timel, so this scent will probably become even more substantial within a month or so.. Anyways, NOT BAD MOSCHINO! Man I've been VERY impressed with all their offerings thus far! Ofcourse we have Toy Boy, Mochino Uomo?, Cheap & Chic, and ESPECIALLY Mochino Forever (My new FAVE signature scent worthy frag) As for Cheap & Chic, a S-S-S-SOLID 7.5 outta 10 fragrance! Very Nice and I highly recommend it to anyone, Women or Men!👌. Thanks to whomever took time to read my thoughts on this little GEM of a fragrance! CHEERS!🫠🫡😉

I have history with Cheap and chic by Moschino. It was the perfume of my years as a teen and it's responsible for the way I use perfume: spraying it heavily. My mum had told me that this is quite mature of a scent for a teen girl, maybe some miss fragrance will be better... Nope, no no, no, the moment i sniffed this baby i fell for it, and it became my signature scent for years. And frankly i was happy that it was distinct in class, because really all the rest mademoiselles would wear some fruity concoction, and there was me reeking floral muskiness all over the place. Yep, i would take it with me and re-spray when i felt that i had to. Not that the perfume has any problems with sillage, on the contrary, three to four spritzes are enough to achieve an arms length sillage, but somehow my teen brain had the idea of constant refresh. Somehow i got adventurous during university so i forgot about the Olive-shaped bottle, and started loving other scents. Came back and I m happy to smell the exact same, and guess what, nobody wears this, why? It's so so pretty! It is so underrated. Honestly, i have not yet found any other similar scent to this. There are perfumes that remind me of other, for instance, La vie EST belle is quite similar to la nuit tresor , they have differences don't get me wrong but the drydown of them is very very very similar. Well for Cheap and Chic I haven't yet found any other perfume that reminds me of it. That makes it unique. It's beautiful layered as well, I do layer it now with any Narciso Rodriguez (black, white, pink and purple bottles) and the result scent is to die for, weird and unique creations. Layered with Narciso Rodrigues L'absolu you will be a moving sillage bomb. The blend is so nice that i can barely tell the notes. Initial spray and a medicinal burst is around you for an hour at least. Personally i love the medicinal aspect of it, quite soft and doesn't linger much. Then it's just a soapiness of flowers, a lot of flowers, very pleasant and luxurious, sexy I'd say. It's a clean scent, it's so soapy, not powdery though. The drydown is musky floweriness, leans a lot to the masculine side, still it's totally worth it. There is some vanillic warmth to it as well. Men can wear this as well!

I’ve honestly never had a fragrance morph so completely on my skin from top notes to mid/base!! Shocking hairspray scent at first, almost hit my nose like butane (I guess my nose is not reading the fresh citrus notes well) -and I thought for sure I’d be scrubbing it off. But I had to go start dinner, got distracted, ffwd 10 minutes later I wondered what this pretty, sweet watery scent was. I got my face close to my hand and lo and behold it was where I had sprayed my sample of this. Amazing how it transformed. It translates to apple blossom and water notes. I have a feeling the yuzu is helping give a fruit impression. So I imagine apple blossoms floating down off a tree into a creek. Fresh, light watery florals and I guess it’s the musk doing that? I’m so impressed with the sillage. Update: Bought a cute mini and am really developing an appreciation for the ride this scent takes me on. There is a hairspray thing, but it’s giving it a strange edge that I like and then it just morphs into a powerful liquidy-feeling sweet floral bubble around me. Very unique and enjoyable so I think I’ll go full bottle soon.

Cheap and chic by Moschino is just perfect for me. It is one of those perfumes that are still around, they are sold, but you don't quite find people wearing it anymore in public. I tested this one about a year and a half ago and instantly fell in love with it, I bought it inmediately. It smells very nostalgic to me, it came to my mind when I first sniffed it, retail, woman working on retail, suits, and overall what just seems as an optimistic capitalism childhood era if that makes sense. This perfume to me has a cerulean blue quality, kinda cold and sharp but still soft as it envelopes. It starts soapy and very aldehydic and then it goes smoother and smoother, finishing with this clean powdery floral dry down that is honestly so good. This is a perfume that is good from start to finish. And what not, the unisex aspects it has just makes it even better, I can totally see a man wearing this. It reminds me a bit of the not so new anymore, YSL MYSLF. Great perfume overall and I haven't even touched the commercial aspect from it, the bottle shape, everything about it is so iconic.

nautical, unisexish, chic, year rounder . a year since my last review and i have a full bottle now . since then ive gotten my nose on a lot, citrus scents have let me down terribly, but cheap n chic is one of the more remarkable ones ive had . opening minutes, a ton of petitgrain and yuzu, though a creamy woodiness is already being hinted at . next the cyclamen, water lily, iris, and white orchid sing loudest on me, i honestly dont get much rose if at all, some powder from peony/violet maybe . the base notes remind me of something Creed would make, but theres a certain warmth or musky sweetness that remains until next day . in an era of 2 note fragrances this stands out without being impolite, too forward leaning in one direction, a real 3 part story perfume that smells more expensive than the name implies . ive added items to my bag on the moschino site because of this, which means the marketing paid off 3 decades after the fact still lol . deeply love/hate the bottle

I have this thing that, every time I travel to a new place, I buy a new fragrance to wear during the trip and, in this way, get reminded of the trip whenever I wear the fragrance back home. It’s just magical to me! I bought this one when I was in Venice, Italy, with my grandma, in 2008. I still get memories every time I wear it. It’s a classy scent to me. More on the mature side, but I think this is the proposal to start with. On my skin, it begins fresh and floral, but the dry down is very woody and powdery, which I love! It lasts me the whole work day and, although I thought the projection wasn’t good enough, my boyfriend said he can always smell it from a distance. In my opinion, this scent isn’t sexy or anything like that, it’s more casual / work appropriate. Note: you guys need to quit spraying a perfume 2 or 3 times. You really need to do between 8 and 10 sprays to make your perfume last longer and leave that good trail people will actually smell.

In spite of not being overly fond of fresh ozone type fragrances like JLo's Glow, SJP's Lovely OR D&G's Light Blue, I LOVE this one. Seems to be the very same type of fragrance but, it has ONE thing that makes me fall for it....and I have NO idea what it is! How can I love this to smithereens!? This scent is like smelling a clean, dry, definitely dry, silken heavenly body whilst you yourself haven't bathed in two weeks. That is how WONDERful this scent is to me. LOVE the bottle, commercial, colors, smell and even the euphoric feeling it ALL gives me. This is like a childhood dream one has, and then having the very same dream as an adult and remembering, feeling, ohhhh the deja vu!!!!! I am sure glad I've found this! It's a time passage. I don't know what it is that I dreamt or felt as a child, but this is it! This is just plain KEWL!!!! I can't believe it will be this grand to others, but I'm sure there's a handful that will relate to my review?

Wore Cheap & Chic again last night after my shower, drove to buy dinner for the fam, came back home and ate, then a few hours later I drove to my local convenience store and the guy at the counter asked what I was wearing bc he wanted to buy himself a bottle not knowing this is a "Woman's Fragrance., 😁. Thats why as a guy Im tottaly comfortable wearing this fragrance as its truley quite unisex leaning with its unique, ozonic-aquatic florals, plus with just a few spritzes, it does have pretty nice projection and actually lasts a long time on skin and DAYS on clothes. I've reviewed Cheap & Chic before on Fragrantica, but I get excited whenever I recieve a nice, unexpected compliment on a fragrance and so I like to share it ESPECIALLY whenever Im wearing "a Female Targeted scent" and no one's the wiser! Love when that happens! Lol!

There was a very popular dessert often making the tabletop rounds when I was a child, aptly named 'lemon delicious' and Cheap and Chic is the epitome of this light and airy, cheap and easy dish, usually served with an abundance of whipped cream. I scored a vintage bottle of this sublime and fluffy soufflé de citron on eBay, I did not expect it to be such a wrist sniffer! Cheap and Chic is très chic, perhaps it is fiscally cheap, but not in the way a dime store pharmacy might offer. It is more like a vintage high fashion find in an opportunity shop or a simple neutral toned clutch in soft and supple leather that a low key girl might buy instead of the ubiquitous 'Birkin Bag'. The bottle is both understated and intriguing. Parfait x

The notes here are a bit off; see below. Top Notes Calabrian bergamot, Petitgrain, Yuzu, Rosewood Heart Notes Cyclamen, Wild rose, Egyptian jasmine, Peony, Water lily, Violet Base notes Orris, Bourbon vanilla, Musk, White orchid, Mysore sandalwood, Tonka bean, Ambergris I sure do get the roundness from the ambergris and subdued bourbon vanilla-not that flat thing that happens with a few straight florals. I get a very fresh/clean, woody/musky floral on my skin. Beautiful.Exceptionally well blended. Lasts forever and projects well. Overwhelming in the heat though! I like it for fall/winter. The only thing I've found that smells even a bit like it is Burberry The Beat, which is also WAY underrated.

Never judge before you try .. I would seem to looked down this scent, I think it is misguided by the name of the brand (the other fragrances by Moschino are original, but not to my taste). I was thinking of a perfume "witty" and out of line, instead it was love at first try. I could not believe: an elegant bouquet, enveloping, warm, flowery at the right point but surely sexy. I admit it: I remember the smell of the skin after a night of passion, good memories, good times. Brilliant in the nose that created it, dosed artificial ingredients in a harmonious and warm way, creating a melody around a sour note but that almost touches the heart and soul. Almost perfect and not heavy or intrusive.

CRISP AQUATIC FLORAL with White-Musk Finish. Opens with a 'shower-fresh' burst of aromatic fruity-florals, that deepens into an aquatic floral heart, all riding on a powdery, white-musk base with some sweetness. The musk here is nice, and doesn't turn swampy, but remains a nice and crisp white-musk. This is one of the nicer aquatic florals out there, IMHO. There is still a touch of the pool from calone (typical of aquatic florals of this vintage), but it's minimal and the musk and watery florals cover it up. Overall: gorgeous scent profile that grows on you. This would be great layered under CK One to enhance the performance, or on it's own. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

This is for *_koko_* and anyone else with the same dilemma. I am C&C huge fan and after I joyfully used five EDT bottles and two EDP, I can confirm that EDT is muskier and softer. It is not about intensity of the scent or the aura. As a matter of fact, I surprisingly found EDT longer lasting on my skin and clothes. EDP is quite similar, but a bit sharper, fresher and more floral accentuated. These nuances are minimal, but whoever (ab)used one of the two variations should get the differences in the other. Needless to say - my absolute favorite is the EDT. If you liked it, I suggest you to go for it and forget the EDP - it is harder to be found anyway.

Like the reviewer right below me I have a history with this perfume too. Along with the very first "Moschino" this is my signature perfume. I fell in love with it in June 1997 when my dear friend gave it to me for my University graduation. On my skin it is mostly citrusy-spicy-woodsy with a strong bergamot note (I also hear "verbena" even though it's not listed). However it is not a summary scent - there is lots of wood there too. It's warm. Fall I'd say. The sillage is outstanding. I love that signature sharp and warm spice in all "Moschino" fragrances. I was so happy to see it in 2017 (not vintage) - of course I grabbed 2 :), cuz you never know...

I was first attracted to this because of the bottle. Red & black, such a seductive colour. But yet i hesitate to purchase it was I really couldn't pin point if I love it enough. So finally one day I thought why not? But I didn't really remember the scent. At first whiff, I thought, hmmm... slightly masculine? I gave it time to sink in, and now I'm in love. It reminds me of clouds and a fresh bath. I think I'm in love with myself now. It has a hint of warm musk, and I have to admit I do love the scent of bergamot, not too sweet, a touch of fruitiness. Very quirky, fun and warm with a slight elegance scent! Reminds me of flirty summer days. LOVE!

♥I ́ve have explore this frag a couple years back as a mini tester with card and I forgot about this. Not a long time ago I bought this frag bcuz I saw a beautiful cover of bottle in the shop and it caught my look. And I fell in love. I absolutely love this fragrance. CheapandChic is such a clean and strong fragrance with intensive calm effect, especially on my skin. I can ́t even imagine to go sleep without this on my hand. Unfortunately I bought only a 30 ml size of bottle, so I know that it ́s not enough. Looking forward to buy at least 100 ml. This is pure beauty within stunning bottle♥

This is a parfume I love, but never had. The opening is citrusy and floral together, it's fresh and crisp, absolutely lovely. I would say that for a few hours it continues being this fresh, white floral delight and in the end it smells mainly like musk, on me at least. It's perfect if you don't like sweet fragrances and if you want to try a different type of citrus. I think of spring when I imagine the perfect season to wear it. I also love the bottle, which is supposed to look like Olive Oyl from the Popeye cartoons.

I am absolutely in love with this ❤️🖤❤️🖤 Treated myself for my birthday, £27 in Superdrug -absolute steal for such a long lasting fragrance. Everyone will perceive it slightly different but to me this smells like high end hair products, hairspray, synthetic yet green and soapy and therefore comforting. It's modest yet makes a big statement somehow. About 10 years ago I didn't find it very feminine, but fastforward to now - I think I didn't find it very "girly". I had to grow up to enjoy it, and what a joy it is ☺️

I remember when Moschino's Cheap & Chic first came out in 1995. The bottle stood out in the perfume section! I thought it resembled the cartoon figure Olive Oyl, which added to the coolness of it! I loved the scent too, and was blessed to receive a bottle of it on Christmas - my first ever perfume! It even came in a beautiful Moschino gift box. I'm impressed Cheap & Chic is still available in stores, and each time I see a bottle of it it brings back many memories.

There's a very specific concept behind this fragrance as it was formulated to smell dated, kind of synthetic, soapy and strong, like many vintage perfumes do. This was made as something Olive would actually wear, so It's somewhat understandable that people looking for mass-appealing scents come back here complaining. Lol it's like saying "Poison is too somber to me". "Light Blue is too citrusy to me". That's what a concept materializes.
