I had a bottle of this, as an older teen, back in the mid-eighties. I remember thinking that it wasn't the classiest scent that I owned (and the paper-covered spray bottle was certainly nothing to write home about) but I adored it nonetheless. I was very into green, galbanum fragrances, like Aliage, Fidgi and Chanel 19 at that time. I had completely forgotten what this one was called until I saw it here today, on Fragrantica. Thank you for reinstating this gem in my memory.

Janine D may look like the euro version of a quintessential "Charlie" girl however there is a core of steel behind her smile. This is as green as a Columbian emerald and whilst Muelhens was never an exclusive house, Janine D smells rich and complex as the elite, classic green chypres it was modelled on. Exquisite.

My aunt was showing me her vintage collection and this is the original which reads No. 4711 Janine D parfum which is 8.5ml spray bottle from the 70s. It is from Germany. Very strong woody chypre which reminds me of Avon a timeless. As it settles I'm getting the Paloma Picasso vibe.
