Alien Hypersense

I'm becoming a little more forgiving toward Mugler, maybe because I've embraced the heartache that is the change post-Loreal. I do love D.Ropion...and so I did try to keep an open perspective while testing this. Going into it...we know that it's not going to be OG Alien. It just isn't. And calling it "Hyper" anything is a weird choice, because you cannot add to Alien or make any element more *hyper* than it already is with it's earth-stopping Indian jasmine. So...whatever, the title is meaningless. What this is though, is a decent spinoff actually. Which, I'm surprised to say because I'm a diehard fangirl of the original pillars. The drydown is less...blunt force sex, and more rounded. The soft musky woods (or whatever, God and Mr.Ropion only know the aromachemicals) do serve to fluff out, and soften the drydown. However, the opening is actually at least 80% similar to my nose with the sambac jasmine and the tone of cashmeran throughout. This is a little soapier though, which I've noticed anyway with the current L'Oréal Alien as it is. Less dizzyingly indolic as my cherished old stuff (and that element is what I live for with Alien most of all). There's a hint of something like rice water too. I really cannot understand where that's coming from, but it's kind of starchy and sweet. Alien Hypersense and the current Alien are both still worth getting, and this is better than many releases on the market. Nothing has the Mugler punch it used to...so it's time to let it go...but objectively this really is beautiful and Ropion did a great job. So, I love this. I don't LOVE *love* it like I do Millennial hayday Alien, but it still is gorgeous and at the very least I'm glad there's a b*tchin white floral on store shelves even today. *ETA - This is still on my hoodie, and has a lovely musky, sensuality about it...but cleanly so. It's grown on me even more.

You don’t get to own Britney Spears Curious - then come tell me that Dominique Ropion’s nose created something too vile, dated etc etc. Unless you are a pre-teen or teenager, surely you would have developed some sort of olfactory nuance to appreciate all types of fragrances for what they are, what they could be. Don’t wear Alien to the club you say? You mean THE Alien that reigned Queen back when clubbing was still something people enjoyed, danced at, in sky high heels, phones away, music pumping! Yeah, no - sorry, you clearly know nothing. Now onto the review - this is the lightened, slightly fruitier version on Alien. Beautifully blended and the pear notes will catch you at random times, especially if you spray behind the ears. It’s so unexpected. If sprayed on the wrists - you are more likely to experience the stronger jasmine hit. There is something so beautiful about this fragrance and I can’t quite describe it. Definitely blooms with some warmth in the air. Mid spring, early summer for sure, lighter hand with it for the latter. A wedding comes to mind, in the evening in a park, flowers in full bloom around the arch, spring, subtle warmth and glow on your skin. The reception is happening later and you have a lush magenta gown to change into. Ugh, so perfect! Strong staying power and the dry down is seductive, warm, alluring, never too much. It’s sweet! I’ve never described the OG Alien as sweet, but this one - it’s there, it’s so hard to describe. But then again how can I capture something that’s out of this world. See what I did there ;) Please experience this one yourself, sample it and it will likely sweep you away into a different galaxy. Okay okay I’ll stop now!

I honeslty don't know why this is rated so low Personally, I really like this one! To me, Hypersense is like the sweet lemon iced tea version of OG Alien. It's sweet, but way less thick and dense, and it's almost refreshing. There's also something in Hypersense that reminds me of the addictive drydown in Alien Goddess Intense (one of my new faves from this year), and I love it. It's not nearly as strong in Hypersense, but it's still there. I keep catching whiffs of it, and it's divine. Performance-wise, Hypersense does really well for me. I get about 4-6 ft of sillage, and it lasts for about 6 hrs on skin & over 12 hrs on clothes. The scent is way less dense than OG Alien, and it's not a suffocating-type of presence. I would say Hypersense is definitely one of the more crowd-pleasing entries in the Alien line. Edit-- Had to come back to add a little blurb. I just added some more sprays onto the ones from before, and I noticed something different. While it's drying down, there's this weird chameleon effect, where it shifts between jasmine tea, Alien OG, and candied fruits & cashmere woods. It's kinda like the scent version of duochrome, where it looks/smells different from different angles...?? Idk how to explain it, but it's really interesting. Maybe that's why the bottle looks the way it does -- bc the scent reflects it and has distinct layers that weave in and out. I only noticed it after layering this on top of itself / overspraying a bit.

Alien Hypersense opens with a bright, electric burst that feels like someone plugged the original Alien jasmine into a neon power source. It’s fruity, green, and solar all at once - a pink‐green flash that hits the skin with voltage rather than warmth. There’s a juiciness here, but it’s not syrupy; it’s alive, almost effervescent, like jasmine petals lit from behind by a warm sun. The jasmine is recognisably Alien, but not the molten, metallic beam of the EDP. Here it’s lighter, sharper, more kinetic - a jasmine that moves instead of glows. The green facets keep it bright and airy, while the fruity notes give it a soft, playful sweetness that never turns sticky. As it settles, Hypersense becomes a warm‐skin aura: soft musk, gentle amber, and a lingering fruity brightness that feels like sunlight on bare shoulders. It’s fresher than any Alien has a right to be, but it never collapses into the watery, pastel territory of the weaker flankers. It still has character, still has presence, still feels like an Alien - just rewritten in light instead of heat. Longevity: 6–7 hours Projection: moderate, with a bright opening flash Best for: late Spring, Summer, early Autumn (warm days), daytime, “I want to feel alive and luminous” moods. Feels like sunlight hitting skin. Hypersense & Alien EDT - My go-to summer Aliens. If the original Alien is a solar goddess, Hypersense is her electric daughter - bright, radiant, and unmistakably alive.

this is a LOVELY perfume. at first spray, i started to worry that this would be a stereotypical department store perfume, but when you let her sit for a little while, she'll start to surprise you. this fragrance goes through distinctly different phases. the initial spray is clean, fruity, and citrusy; then afterwards, you start to smell more of the woody notes, and then all of the sudden jasmine and white florals come in and overtake the scent for the next hour. afterwards, it settles back down into a woody, slightly sweet, incredibly pleasant olifactory experience. i adore her more each time i spray her. on me, this perfume lasts around nine hours. the sillage is intimate, only radiating out at arms length, which i personally prefer. since she's not a beast mode perfume, i can safely take her to work with me without having to worry about putting anyone off, but she's also a unique enough fragrance to me that i can enjoy her without feeling like i smell like everyone else in the world. and she comes in a fun, colorful, interesting bottle that will be lots of fun to display! overall, i'm a huge fan.

It opens up as a spicy, woody, musky jasmine bomb! It could be too strong or polarizing for some, but its still a beautiful scent and after a good 20 minutes, it tones down significantly! I love the softness of the pear as it dries down, and the tart citrus helps brighten it quite a bit! Its creamier and juicier than the other Aliens, while retaining the spicy jasmine and smooth amber underneath, in a way that's absolutely delightful ♡ Its still Alien, but more feminine and more whimiscal~ The drydown is truly intoxicating and I can't get enough of it!! Its sultry and mysterious but still has a sparkle to it ♡ I love pairing this scent with my more cool and sexy styles to match~ Think gold chains, a glowing tan, and bright flashy colors~ By far my favorite Alien! Its definitely the most wearable flanker, and if the others can be too sharp or heavy on you, I recommend this or the EDT! It's nice day or night, but definitely a "going out" scent and not an office scent.. It really shines in fall and winter, but I've worn it year round~

I’ve always been an Angel type of girl, and was never into Alien. Prior to hypersense, the only alien I’ve owned and loved was the essence absolu, Hypersense won me over. I was sent a decant to try, and at first I thought its as far as I would go, then I started reaching for it and liking it more and more each time. Till I bought a full bottle. As for the scent itself. It’s polarizing. It shifts and turns and changes throughout the wear time. The opening was the most detested part for me cuz I’m really not a jasmine fan. The opening is mainly a blast of jasmine slightly sweetened with the pear. But after a few minutes, the jasmine takes a slight step back, and the woods morphs turning it into a slightly powdery, white floral scent with a touch of sweetness. If there’s a breeze, you and anyone in ur vicinity will catch glorious whiffs of it.

Bold and sensory, just as the name suggests. Also contradictory, in the best possible way. The pear and green mandarin top notes play beautifully with the underlying OG Alien DNA, adding a hint of freshness that cuts through the denser florals and adds a touch of welcome lightness. At the same time this is not a “light” scent - it’s warm, woody, dense, and jasmine-forward, just as you’d expect if you’ve tried the OG. It’s curiously evocative; if you were walking through a greenhouse at night on a far distant planet, this might be what you’d smell. The projection and longevity are both excellent. It’s by no means a quiet scent and lasts a good 8 hours on my skin before finally fading away into salt-tinged muskiness. A surprisingly refreshing take on the OG, and one I might just prefer.

What a beautiful smell, I gave a review when it was just released. I liked it then but wasn't sure if it was worth buying. I revisited it after one year and it's even better to my nose now: classy woody jasmine, slightly juicy from the fruity accents, moderately powdery and feminine, nothing cheap about it. Much better and more wearable than the original which is ridiculously indolic and suitable only for occasional use. I wouldn't pay so much attention to negative reviews or negative compliments from people as everything is down to personal taste. Test it yourself and give it time before buying. From my experience many of Mugler's perfumes become better over time. I will definitely purchase this one.

I'm not a pro at reviewing perfumes, so bear with me here. I always enjoyed the original Alien; my friend wears it and I always admired the scent. However, it can be a little pricey so I never bought it. I'm currently on vacation in the Bahamas, and decided to treat myself to a new perfume. I had to choose between the OG Alien and this one, Hypersense. I ended up going with Hypersense because it has a fruitier, lighter top note that felt more wearable for the everyday. It still smells like Alien, though. Something about it reminds me of incense...like those metaphysical shops in Salem that I love so much. I haven't seen anyone else comment this, but to me it smells witchy in the best of ways.

A beautiful, but unnecessary perfume: the original alien is one of my all time favorite perfumes and this one just isn't different enough. All I'm getting is the notes I'm already getting in the original: some cashmeran, some amber and a lot of jasmin. The pear and mandarin top notes are gone within 5 minutes and I don't get any (drift)wood. I think the longevity is about on par with the original (apparently the original used to be "nuclear" in this regard, but I only ever tried the most recent formulation) it last through a working day (about 8h). Since the price is also exactly the same it basically really doesn't matter if you get the original or the hypersense (in my opinion)

Jasmine, pear, a hint of orange, the warmth of amber, and a touch of musk burst forth in this fragrance. I also catch notes of vanilla and mint (don’t ask me why), which playfully weave in as intriguing shadows. This scent evokes the vibes of late summer evenings and early autumn days. To me, the fragrance is enchanting, gentle, sexy, and warm. A true "grown-up" scent. It is subtle in its notes yet powerful in performance, truly mastering its own identity. I adore this version of Alien and cherish its presence in my collection. It is beautifully and artistically composed. The scent lingers on my skin for up to 8 hours, gradually fading away but never entirely disappearing

i cant say it enough how horrible the name “hypersense” is for this flanker bc it’s more like alien sensual, which is probably for the best bc the idea of a hyper-charged version of the already nuclear performance alien has would be wayyy too much however despite saying that, i really love it and when deciding on which version to get from the line i settled on this one!! it’s a little sweeter, a little creamier, and much lighter, but so so pretty and aligns more with my preferences than the OG so although i could see this release feeling unnecessary for dedicated alien fans, it really feels like the flanker for people who were never really into it before

This scent is so gorgeous! I've had this perfume for testing since December and it has NOT disappointed! It opens with a very beautiful green, sharp, fruity pear-esque jasmine. About five minutes later it becomes more of a warm, regular jasmine with a slight airy greenness, which I ADORE! About an hour later it evolves to the base, which is more of a smoother, warmer vanilla-amber, clean soapy musk scent with a slight hint of the jasmine. I would give Alien Hypersense about an 8/10 to a 9/10 because I personally love it, but it can be perceived as a little soapy, heavy floral, and grandma-esque. But I perceive it as chic and fab!

I would just about blind buy anything Mugler puts out because they are my lifeline of my weirdness incapsulated in a scent haha. I love the OG Alien but I'm always afraid to offend people by wearing it. I got a travel size of this to try and have been wearing in the past few days. It really is a less headache inducing more accessible form of the OG alien. I just might have to get it. I can't tell how projecting it is because it's a Mugler and I didn't want to overdo it so I might try this weekend. Basically not just less clawing version of the OG.

I have Alien Goddess Intense and Alien Supra Floral. This flanker smells the closest to the original Alien from over 10 years ago. But more sweeter at the opening. the notes have been flipped and is missing the Amber that has been replaced by Amberwood and Driftwood. The jasmine is coming in strong in the middle notes, instead of the top like OG Alien. The top notes of Pear and Mandarin add a sweet and flirty flair to the scent. Perfect for day or night, this fragrance is giving summer vibes, with the warm weather optimizing the projection.

Before blind-buying Hypersense, I had never smelled the Alien DNA in any form. Unlike other reviewers, I can't compare it to other flankers. It's a creamy, slightly fruity, sensual fragrance that I didn't know I needed. The initial spray is very sweet with the florals coming to the front. The notes are well-blended and developed beautifully over time. I get a little vanilla after the scent sits for a while. It also lasts FOREVER on my skin; I sprayed it on my wrist at 7:30 pm and I can still smell it on my skin almost 15 hours later.

Cant believe this only has a 3.7 star rating. Yes its the same old alien scent. But alien is timeless and just so good still. Almost identical to the original but for some reason way more pleasant. I found the original alien to be too much and too distinct of a smell after some time. Whereas with this one I just don't have that problem at all. This is just toned down in the best way possible. I don't really pick up on the note changes other than its just lighter and less sickening. No issues at all with this.

Simply mesmerizing. The Alien we know and love, modernized, and launched into hyperspace. The additional fruity notes make a HUGE difference (at least in the first couple hours.. after that it more or less smells like OG. In my opinion this rounds out and almost completes OG). So juicy, fresh, exotic.. unbelievably sexy and alluring.. truly otherworldly smelling. Hypnotized by Hypersense 💟 Only downside is it doesn’t seem to last as long as the original

Feels a bit like a softer, tamer version of the original, hence why I think people either love or hate it. If the OG is the Xenomorph this is more like the blue lady from Avatar. Yeah it's Alien, but it's more presentable, more socially acceptable. To some people it ruins the whole point of the original, to others it's perfect. Personally I enjoy it, but I can see the argument that taming the Alien DNA makes it less unique, too.
