Ambre Redoutable

Very linear, well-blended amber composition, much like original Alien without the jasmine. Great as a layering scent or a standalone softer and warmer alternative to Alien. It is sweet and enveloping without turning powdery or cloying. Projection is on the soft side but the scent easily lasts 6 hours. Best part - the woods are subtle, making it safely unisex (for any women worried about smelling "manly"). I can't see this offending anyone unless they really hate amber. Scent 9/10 (could be more complex) Projection 5/10 Longevity 7/10

Holy moly. This arrived in the mail today and I'm pretty sure I've found my new favorite. (A couple other ones were in the box, so...it'll have a run for its money, but...) Warm and buttery. That's the only way I can describe it. Sweet amber, a little powdery, but completely sexy. I keep sniffing myself.

I love this one, but I’m a sucker for Mugler fragrances. Still they did good with this one and it lasts a long time. I’ve been selling a few samples from my bottle but no more. I’m saving the rest for me.

Not quite sure what to add that @Katerina89 didn't already cover. The jasmine in the reformulated Alien is what kills it for me, and I think this could help "warm up" that sterile coldness with some strategic layering and/or concocting a fresh decant in a 2:1 ratio (Ambre to new Alien). This feels very comforting/cozy on a cold rainy morning like today. Lasted for about 5-6 hours, pretty decent longevity. I like my little complimentary ~1 mL sample, but just like Cuir Impertinent, I wouldn't pay $200+ for it, and I'd be upset if someone paid $200+ to gift this to me. Woodissime is the only Les Exceptions fragrance (so far) that I'm looking to scoop up if/when it goes on sale.

This opens almost as an ambergris fragrance. And a very good one at that. It reminds me of an intense version of Ambre Nuit by Dior, yet the floral and sweet notes are more prominent here. These notes gain intensity on the drydown, when the perfume loses its ambergris vibe to become more of an amber floral. I get honey too, eventhough it's not listed on the notes. It should please those ladies who thought Ambre Nuit wasn't feminine enough for them. Scent: loved the opening but the drydown leans too feminine and sweet for my tastes. 7.5 Projection: 8.5 Longevity: Long lasting

If there is one word I will use to describe this scent, it is DELICIOUS. Very gourmand on me. I get whiff of only something sweet like chocolate and sometimes I become nose blind to it until I get a whiff of it and get mesmerized with the captivating blend of sweetness. It’s the exact vibes I get when I wear Lancôme Oud Bouquet and Oud Mood by Lattafa. There is something about this composition that gets me. For some reason, the perfume reminds me also of Calvin Klein Euphoria on me. I am so happy I got this at a thrift store and paid about $25 for a full bottle. Yay. 🎉🎉🎉

Not a bad little fragrance. Easy to like. Lovely Amber and floral note on the opening with a nice woody dry down. Great for men and women in my opinion. Good longevity and projection. Worth a try if you’re looking for an Amber frag. Not the best one out there but like most Mugler I find it inventive and interesting.

I love this, starts like a 90s spicy perfume (think Opium or Samsara type) but with a hefty dollop of slightly sweet amber, then goes rich and milky/creamy. Works really well, and gives it a modern twist. I want this, but £150 a bottle feels steep

Ambre Redoutable is a rich, strong, full-bodied woody amber. Doesn't seem like a Mugler to me. Reminds me of a stronger version of Zara Rich, Warm & Addictive as I perceive notes of tobacco and coconut included. Masculine-to-unisex.

This is very linear amber fragrance. Performs best in a colder weather. It's warm, woody with a hint of spiciness. This is a truly unisex perfume- I can picture both men and women enjoying it.

Opens with coke syrup, very sweet, bright, cola. Mid becomes more floral as the sweetness fades. End stage is musk that grows dry and bitter as it wears. Very unfortunate on me. Sigh.

I received this today,on mothers Day!(intersting that it was delivered on a Sunday).It was a blind buy full bottle ,no regerts Its a beautiful amber scent I smell honey in the opening Only for a few min than it the turns a lovely resinous (its amber after all) Reminds me a bit chanel coco sans the fruity spice you get from chanel coco,a As it stars to down it turns a bit woody and finally slightly floral With the resinous amber still present but much softer . If you love amber scents you will not be disappointed .

I am glad I got to try it before buying, obviously, I won’t buy it , it is like the smell of a fancy barber shop, more masculine than I thought, yet not typically masculine!?! It is a bit soapy, and the floral undertone doesn’t even last..it isn’t a smooth amber, rather a sharp dry one..I should have suspected that with a name like redoutable, it wouldnt be your cozy amber..not for me..rather linear too..

reminds me of nuwa by roja dove, beautiful woody amber rose with a hint of sweetness that isn't overpowering for someone who hates sweet, i could see how it would be a very nice everyday scent because it is sexy but not too sexy and very beautiful, quite a youthful fragrance with a hint of class and maturity

I'm always up for a good dark juice amber. This is a good one, very deep and resinous. Not much herbalness to it, but it does have a very natural resin aspect to it. Dries down fairly woodsy. Original sample available for swap UK along with loads of other niche samples - get in touch!

This smells a lot like Bentley For Men Intense! I swear! But a slightly less cloying version. Spicy. Honestly, if you’re a fan, check out Bentley For Men Intense. Same scent but longer lasting and stronger juice for only $30!

Slightly sweet amber.. This slightly sweet, but not the usual chocolate vanilla that accompanies amber with a touch of sweet tuberose. Easy to wear, and has that kind of vintage-ISH vibes added to it. Nice.

Could someone please get the new re-releases of Les Exceptions, decant them, and sell them? I can't justify $300 for a whole bottle of this unless I have tested it first 🥲❤️🩹
