A*Men Summer Flash

Fresh, green and woody. A big dose of patchouli, musk and a hint of mint. A summer fragrance with great projection and strong sillage. Fun to wear. A scent with A*men's DNA but so much more ... simply great!

a bit of a weird one this, i picked this up for the low-low as i couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy a discontinued mugler for under £15, and after hearing that: a) it's alledgedly renamed from Ice*man, and b) that it's a real curve ball, i was intrigued. this fragrance reminds me of the scent of an old tweed jacket, in terms of its profile, its difficult to pin down (perhaps my pallette is too novice to fully put it to words), it's a bit of a 90's scent, it smells woody, warm, spicy (although not in the typical sense - theres an earthy, almost curry powder-like note, although i'm not sure if this is something brought upon by a long period maceration), the name is rather misleading (or moreover, the product line in general, as this is a huge departure from the typical A*Men line in general, with the exception of patchouli, this scent is a long way from the sweet, gourmand-esque profiles typically seen in this line), it starts out fresh and spicy, at which point the earthy, spice note rears its head, from which point, the more resinous woody notes come in, coupled with musk and a slightly leathery note, with a very slightly soapy dry down, it becomes a skin scent very quickly but otherwise a very well put-together scent, but does lose its legs quite quickly, wouldn't recommend it for the money unless your either a die-hard collector, or if you can find a bottle for insanely cheap like i did.

This is what irony smells like. Depending on the bottle, this is either clear or light blue/aqua in color, packaged like your typical aquatic. But it doesn't smell like an aquatic. It's called "Summer Flash" (or "Ice" later on) but it is arguably not your typical summer scent, but something less seasonal altogether. Listed notes suggest it must be woody and patchouli dominant, yet it really isn't. What it is: Clean, yet a bit dirty as well. Hesperidic, almost sunscreen-ish, in a way similar to Varvatos Artisan Blue, but gently; not outright citrusy/summery the way VAB is. It's also got some woody/patchouli hovering around, providing that citrus with some grounding. There is also an almost minty, herbaceous aspect in the opening that seems to come and go throughout its life. And that life is about 3-4 hours of moderate to light projection and sillage, gradually tailing down to a skin scent. All in all, I do like it. Very wearable if not very memorable. Definitively office-safe and inoffensive. Good dumb grab stuff for any season or informal situation. Comfortable.

Opens kind of orangey, with a full assault of patchouli and light woods underneath. It's surprisingly cooling, in spite of these normally "warm" sweet notes. As the orange fades away, some dry, dusty woods come to the fore...it morphs from fresh sweet orange juice to old sour orange juice, and ends up reminding me of New West for a while. Unfortunately the patchouli finally gets its way, and it's not the "mellow sweet woods" type, but the "sharp sour earth" type. Still, I'm impressed with how much bracing, brisk unsweetness it's able to put forth considering its namesake. Ultimately, you end up with a sharp citrus herbal somewhere between Tuscany and New West, or the old version of Dana California, which I like enough to let the patchouli armageddon slide but not enough to recommend this over any of the above brands. The base is also slightly pissy, though not as much as Kouros Fraicheur.

If you can tolerate the bite of an aromachemical that's like nails on a chalk board, you'll benefit from Summer Flash. It's one of those perfumes that smell very good on others, with pleasing projection and more than satisfactory longevity. If you're somewhat of a scent exhibitionist always fishing for compliments, Summer Flash would be a good investment. It does share the basic A*Men chassis, but can be cloying in a totally different way. Sharp instead of thickly sweet. I prefer the former. Recommended for a test drive.

I bought a 3.4 bottle last week...perfumes by thierry mugler are my favorite..as summer is coming to my country , this perfume is highly recommendable for this season. It is very fresh, and it doesn ́t lose the base of A-men notes....powerful.I love thierry mugler perfumes...they are unique.

Mugler could've come up with better fragrances than this one. I don't know why, but this scent has a chemical quality about it. The drydown is sparkling and at the same time i get a bug-spray type of vibe from it. It fades away quickly.

I totaly agree with the man below. when you put it on it does have a fresh blast to it but while its on this chemical smell creeps up on you and is bloody awfull. it just wont go away, so in my opinion ,stay away

Dude, 3-4 hours longevity of an eau de toilette is NOT long! One can expect at least 6 hours of longevity from a quality eau de toilette. Today's standards convince us that it's acceptable if an eau de toilette lasts for only 3-4 hours which is not OK!

I bought a bottle of this a few years ago and was going through my collection and found this. I loved it when I first bought it but once I sprayed it on my hand and it was disgusting, i dont know if it has went out of date but it smelt rank.

Doesnt last long??? 3-4 hours is long. Lasts all day on my skin. Smells amazingly fresh, like right after a shower. One of my favorite patchouli scents. Not many smell like this. Totally invigorating.

I don't find A*Men Summer Flash a long lasting fragrance. At least on my skin, it lasts for about 3-4 hours before leaving. Everytime I spray it I remember the smell of an inviting swimming pool...

Yes it smells exactly like Ice Man. Fresh version of Amen, and its in the same bottle as Ice Man. Long lasting and really powerful.

this version lose the best notes from A*Men, but still a good option for the summer and spring!

This was the test version before re naming it ICE MEN??? It smells exactly like ICE MEN.
