Opens almost like a fresh, "blue" fragrance, and within about 1 hour, it becomes a creamy, woody, coffee scent. It has a great balance of cleanliness, airiness, mixed with delicious, smooth coffee. Compared to other A*Men flankers (I have Pure Tonka and the original), it is not as strong, or long lasting, but on the other hand it is smoother and less harsh in the opening. While the other A*Men flankers are fragrances that announce themselves when you step into a room, Ultimate is more so a fragrance that gets discovered when someone comes close to you. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it's worth mentioning because some people prefer the strength and performance that the older flankers are loved for. Lastly, the naming of this fragrance is interesting. Ultimate doesn't necessarily mean the best, ultimate can also mean the last (just as penultimate means second-last). In that sense, I believe the name simply means it's the last A*Men flanker, but of course, if they just named it "A*Men Last Flanker", that wouldn't be as catchy ;). I really don't think they're trying to imply this is the best of the A*Men line, simply just the last one – especially since we know this line has been discontinued. Overall, it's a nice switch-up from the traditionally stronger A*Men flankers, with a fresh, modern take on coffee scents. Even thought I was originally disappointed that this one lacks the strength of previous flankers, I've realized this one has its own merits. 9/10.

I am kind of new to the hobby of collecting and trying new fragrances. Over the past few months I’ve had the opportunity to try about 70 fragrances. I was lucky enough to come across a sample of this. And I really did not expect much from the neon electric blue sample cards and spray. I sprayed it immediately thought hmm a little sweet for my novice nose. After trying a handful of others from I kept on trying to figure out what this awesome smell was, and discovered that fragrances have layers, too, heart, base, drydown, etc. This fragrance single-handedly reshaped my nose, and introducing me to the world of sweeter fragrances! I immediately bought a 100mL, even though I still had a 10ml decant! I wear it everyday, and I believe that it represented who I am. It is not your regular manly fresh scent. More of a sweet... cappuccino, almost vanillin brown sugar cookie type. Which I have found that I gravitate towards. My fave deodorant is the vanilla scented Oasis old spice. And my favorite axe spray is the collision leather+cookie. So looking back it makes sense! I don’t see my preferences changing any time soon, but you never know. That’s the beauty of this hobby. I wore D&G Pour Homme exclusively for a good while, now having discovered this scent, I wear almost exclusively A*Men Ultimate, I love it! I’m finding myself smelling my arm all the time, and I feel it boosts my confidence bc it reflects my inner personality. 10/10!

A phenomenal release by the House of Mugler, and a fitting/ maybe final addition to the A Men line. This flanker adds another dose of gourmand sweet heaven, with a coffee take mixed with a blue fresh, mass appeal sprinkled all over it. Out of most of the Muglers A Men line, this is by far your "safe bet" perfume, highly versatile and a huge compliment getter, especially within the first few hours or so where thr projection and sillage is great. Pros Mass appealing and Pleasant Great cappuccino take 6 hours of longevity on skin, around 8 on clothes. Women love it Can't help smelling myself whenever I have it on. Beautiful smell. Price - you can find these for around £40 which is a steal. Cons Wish the opening lasted a little longer Sits close to your skin after the 3rd hour mark. Not as "daring" as the other A Men flankers e.g Pure Malt or Pure Tonka Overall, I love the scent for its sweetness and freshness. Definitely recommended especially for the price they are going for now. These will fetch for a pretty penny once they are discontinued so deffo get ur nose on them before it is too late.

I'm not the type to like sweet scents, but I like this fragrance. It's not too sweet, and it does have depth. I know due to influencers, this release got a bad rep but I believe it's undeserved. There's a smooth creaminess, with an incense background (patchouli?) that grounds the fragrance. It's not youthful sweet, there's some maturity there. And from my experience, it gets better the longer it dries down. One thing I will say is if you are expecting a cappuccino note this isn't the fragrance for you as I don't get that at all. Also I notice many are saying this is a blue fragrance, I can see why they say that but personally I don't think so. It doesn't come off as fresh shower gel to me, it's a creamy tonka with a patchouli background. I wouldn't wear this for summer because IMO it's too heavy for that. It's a shame this was discontinued, along with other great scents from this lineup. I'd say sample this and make your own judgement. If I am going to be honest I prefer this fragrance to the original and many other flankers that get more hype.

Let’s be brutally honest: while the rest of the fragrance community was drowning in boring, shower-gel aquatics, Mugler dropped this absolute masterpiece and everyone slept on it. The opening is an electric, zingy blast of Green Bergamot. Here is where the genius lies: Mugler managed to violently crash a bright, fresh citrus note directly into a sweet, electronic Mocaccino coffee core without the entire composition turning into a weird, disjointed mess. That balancing act alone makes it a masterpiece. The base is heavily woody, but it is not a harsh, dry lumber yard. It is a smooth, creamy wood that acts as a structural bridge, perfectly accenting both the cappuccino and the sharp citrus layers. It completely bypasses the suffocating tar note of the original 1996 A*Men, leaving behind a highly addictive 'Woody Fresh Gourmand' that smells absolutely nothing like the generic releases flooding the shelves. A criminally underrated hidden gem.

A*Men Ultimate is an underrated fragrance. I wasn't expecting anything before I smelled it for the first time, but then I was pleasantly surprised by how great it smells. Of course, it is not "Ultimate" but it is a very good fragrance. It is probably the most versatile and mass-pleasing in the line. The thing about A*Men Ultimate is that, it is just so pleasant, smooth, and addictive. It smells creamy, a bit citrusy, woody, fresh, and sweet. I don't think the notes are overpowering each other, therefore I think it is one of the most balanced fragrances in the A*Men line. I prefer Pure Havane, Kryptomint, Pure Tonka, and some of other releases in the line, but this one still smells incredibly great. It is still very easy to get right now and I have a feeling that Mugler will discontinue this fragrance sooner or later (they love to do this), so please at least try this one first before you regret it.

First time when I smelled Ultimate , I was like : it is doing the job of Givenchy Play Intense (more spices,less woods,coffee more like raw beans) but since I have it , I don`t need that one. I got 2ml sample and gave it a try. First thing that I mentioned was -no typical Mugler power but the longevity is not bad at all. On my skin it stays for 7 hours and i have dry skin. So longevity is great but projection is not, most likely because it was made for warmer weather. Women love the smell ,maybe because most of them are addicted to latte/cappuccino. I absolutely love this fragrance, in a sea full of fragrances that a lot smell the same, this one doesn’t smell like anything I’ve ever smelled, including the “reminds me” section above... which I own most of those as well. BUT, longevity is absolutely horrendous. I know several people who own this as well and say it gets 2 to 3 hours MAX. And most reviews on other sites say the same thing. I’ve worn it in high heat, low heat, very cold, a little chilly, High humidity, low humidity, and longevity is always the same. So to those who claim this lasts 6 to 8 hours, congratulations you have super skin. I really think this would have sold well if it lasted a long time, so if you’re reading this Thierry Mugler PLEASE make an intense version! Because this is signature scent worthy.... if only it lasted longer. Smell 9/10 Longevity 3/10

In 1996, Jacques Huclier created the original A Men, flash forward to 2019 and he returns with what (if the definition of Ultimate is final) may be the last flanker in the line. The 2019 version is a simple and pleasant scent. It is the antithesis of the original in many ways. The tar, patchouli, and strong coffee/tonka notes take a back seat. Those are replaced with a sweet, frothy mochaccino flavor. The cedar and balsam fir add a subtle woody feel. The Bergamot fades into the background after the opening. Ultimate is an extremely wearable and accessible fragrance and may appeal to those who find the original A Men to be a bit heavy. Perhaps this was the creators motivation. Longevity was about 5-6 hours for me, within 3 hours it dried down to a skin scent.

Holy crap...this is nice. This is the first time I’ve ever smelled an A men cologne. I ordered a sample of this along with another fragrance and was completely blown away. I like this more than the cologne I ordered. So much so that I immediately searched for a full bottle and I’m glad I found one. It’s one of those colognes that have me smelling my arm every minute or two. It is a unique cologne but at the same time it’s rather simple and not complex, yet I haven’t smelled anything like it. It starts out fresh, then transforms to a woody/coffee scent. Beautiful. This is a knockout to my untrained nose. I was shocked when I saw the score was under a 4 out of 5 here, with hardly any votes, this is signature scent worthy. 8/10 - Excellent

I was surprised that I really like this scent – some don’t see this as a good flanker of A*Men but I think this is a solid flanker it keeps a little more the A*Men DNA than some other flankers and makes it more modern – I have never been a Top fan of the Original A*Men - I have a sample but I never really worn it but this one I like - the cappuccino note is really nice – it lasts very well on my skin and projects a great deal and I even got compliments – it’s also very suitable to wear in this season – and there is really nothing which smells like this, the closest to this of a fragrance I know and have myself in my collection is Ferragamo Uomo Casual Life and I must say that I like Ultimate better than Casual Life

I really like this, smells creamy, airy, with a slight bit of citrus. When I get a waft of that cappuccino note it gives me a good positive vibe. It's quite a versatile fragrance, I would even wear it on a night out, but I would have to overspray, I might even purchase a full bottle. Nice! *Update* I bought a full bottle of this, I love it!. When I go outside and get some wind on it, smells very uplifting, great sillage!. I'm getting good longevity about 6 hours. I don't get the Invictus comparisons a few people have made, maybe they are upset that it's a different Mugler dna? If you want a versatile scent that works in all seasons and most occasions you can't go wrong with this. Doesn't deserve the hate. Cheers

Not an "ultimate" release but I honestly think that so many people were really overreacting about how boring this one is. A*Men Ultimate was definitely Mugler's take on making their most successful line more mass appealing. But to me, it is a very underrated fragrance since it is actually very good. Not as boring as I thought and I definitely regretted relying way too much on people's opinion rather than trying myself. It was a blind buy and it is actually a successful one. Do try before you buy though, as always. But if you love to be surprised like I do, you can do it as I think it is quite safe. Lasts for a long time too (7-8 hours), with a good projection for the first two hours.

I would say this is a light sweet holiday version of the badass uncle (the Original) who reeks in days-burned coffee beans and cigarrettee smoke at a casino bathroom stall. A pleasure to smell, and mouthwatering scent . Much gentler than the original. Sweet, Warm, foamy brewed cappucino, under a real Christmas tree. Can be smell a little over armlength, good within 7 to 9 hours. Good for days to days wear And also perfect for date nights. It can either be a handsome friendly Coffee/Pine smell, or a scent to arouse excitements and hunger for a naughty night.

I feel like people are just hating on this for absolutely no reason, other than it being an A*Men Flanker. This is actually a very nice fragrance. It's actually (to my nose) similar to Rochas Man. There's really one main to difference to me between the two scent-wise. The fir note in this, basically replaces the lavender of Rochas Man. Also some may notice a bit less depth in Ultimate because, it doesn't have the raspberry note of Rochas Man. Even still, they are in the same wheelhouse. If you like Rochas man, you'll most certainly dig A*Men ultimate.

#536 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This was a decant and I had to order a full bottle right away while they're still available . What a delicious Mugler fragrance! Almost a gourmand, but not quite. I do detect the Mugler DNA some other commentators don't, but it's not strong. A mix of cedar, cappucino and a lemon twist. Tasty! Safe for any day or night wear. Most importantly the sexiest woman I have ever known loves how I smell when I'm wearing this. So for me, definitely date wear! Get it before the eBay scalpers are the only ones who have it.

this is for mugler fans out there, not a must buy if you have kryptomint and rochas man, this somewhere in between those two.i love the eye catching packaging, the smell is very lovable but not loud, which could be a bad thing for man, good for summer and spring, office and gym set up. also if you like polo red extreme, givenchy play intense and salvatore ferragamo uomo, check this out. its a like not love..but im a die hard mugler fan so im giving it a solid 8/10. try it before buying

its fresh and gourmand like.... But I literally ran to the comments, cause thought it smelt more like chocolate and patchouli. I can see some people agree and some disagree complaining a lack of tonka and patchouli that the DNA is known for. For me it straight up smells like patchouli, NO TONKA but definitely a creamy chocolate and patchouli, And unfortunately I get no whiffs of coffee or cappuccino.. Weird how fragrances can have that much of a difference from person to person.

Why is this so underrated and never talked about? Well its because of unrealistic expectations of perfection destroyed it. If a new A*MEN flanker is not a ground breaking, earth shattering flanker its apparently bad. But its not bad at all! Its very, very, very good! Its almost amazing, in my top 3 favorite A*MEN Flankers of all time. Its a fresh take on a gourmand coffee/mocha fragrance. Ultra pleasant, smells great! Get your nose on this before its gone forever.

Just got a 10ml decant of this today and tested it out right away. I must say thIs is the one they should have called "Pure Coffee" It smells like creamy, coffee and nothing else. I don't get that musty, dingy, attic smell that is present in Muglers Pure Coffee, probably patchouli. Longevity is around 4 to 5 hours while the sillage drops off at around 2 hours. This is definately bottle worthy for colder weather months.

Like almost all Mugler scents, this is quite unique, out of the box and daring. Opening is a little synthetic fresh, but the dry down is a nice pine (aquatic & ozonic), woody coffee smell with a hint of sweetness. I personally love it in the autumn. . I dont know why, but I get a 'D&G Italian Love' vibe in the dry down (from the bergamot, ozonic and woody accords). Sadly discontinued gem like a lot of Mugler scents.

What is everyone talking about comparing this to Invictus and Versace? I don't get any of that at all if anything im not getting any of the generic alcoholic harshness they're talking about. This smells effen exquisite. All the notes are there but the cappuccino. It's there its just very light and overpowered by the rest of the notes. its a freshy and its crazy cause technically its a gourmand. I love it!

This is simply perfection , on of the best smells that i have , literally addicting , yet i can't figure why !? , i love cedar and bergamot but maybe their combination with the balsm is what make them so addictive , i simply can't overstate how i love this smell , unfortunately not the best in term of longevity but still a 9.5/10 fragrance (the longevity is the only flaw in this masterpiece)

Dont listen to the fake Bond below me. This smells nothing like coffee. Wtf? lol It is a great refreshing luxurious fragrance though. I feel like i'm in a glamorous hair commercial when i put it on. edit* I had to go read the notes breakdown and i've concluded that people think it smells like coffee because Cappuccino is in the notes. It smells NOTHING like coffee, or cappuccino.

Probably the best out of all of the recent flankers. Not as close to the original a-men as many previous flankers. Very easy to wear, fairly soft, sweet and pleasing. Probably a year round scent. Definitely worth owning - especially at its current under-retail price tag. We all know it will jump to astronomical prices within the next few years, so grab it now.

After a year of ownership I have come to really appreciate this - so perfect for autumn because it is cozy but not heavy . I think the note pyramid (whih is clearly incomplete) could easily add sweet tobacco. An outstanding deviation from the A*Men DNA while not completely abandoning it.

Really took a gamble on this one, and I’m glad I did. It’s somewhat gourmand, but not like a strong coffee. More of a milky smell, almost smells like ice cream. The note breakdown doesn’t fit in my opinion. I’m impressed by this. If you can find it at a good price, pick it up.

Very likeable summer freshie. Regardless of the small amount of listed notes, this has depth and is actually unique. The cappuccino note could have been a little more prominent because the other notes just prevail over it. Average freshie performance and mid atomizer

Really well blended and balanced. It is fresh (versatile in # occassions). It is not too sweet and aromatic fir-woodsy notes are simple yet great. Smell of coffee note is also beautiful. Drydown is of a light, creamy, clean scent. It's good, but not that interesting.

I definitely don’t understand the hate for this fragrance? I guess if you’re “diehard” A*Men this one is sort of blasphemy...but if you just look at it as it’s own frag it’s definitely pleasant, in no way offensive, and moderately versatile.

Of course good designers like this get overlooked, I think its one of the better A men releases, definitely one to snag if you're a fan of A men. Sweet yet warm with cappuccino, it really is nice...this one surprised me 👍

Let em hate. This stuff is fire. There's some in my collection that might be in the same class as this but nothing smells similar. It's in a league of it's own. Very simple but very well done and very very good smelling.

this fragrance not bad as A*Men hardcore fans said. i got around 6-7h longevity with moderate projection & sillage. the smells is pleasant and easy to use than any other A*Men line. grab it before gone..

I'm not sure how this guy below me is getting CH Men when he smells A*Men Ultimate... That is actually Mind-boggling. A*Men Ultimate is a Gorgeous fragrance. I wish it were more powerful.

Not sure why this didn’t get the love that the others in the line. It’s really good, it’s a very good modern take on the OG and that’s what they were going for.

Brand new flanker A*MEN Fantasm is coming..

I've bought it blindly and regret nothing.

As a massive fan of the A*Men flanker line, I have A*Men, Pure Tonka, Pure Shot(Energy), Pure Havane, Pure Malt, B*Men and Pure Leather, so I decided to add the most recent flanker A*Men Ultimate to my collection. Since this was released in 2019, I decided I better grab it before it was discontinued and shot up into the hundreds like all the other flankers. I am still hoping to get a bottle of Pure Coffee and Pure Wood. I can live without the others. I find this flanker to be a nice unique scent that has little to do with A*Men or its other family members. This is a sweet coffee, a gourmand scent that is similar in my mind to Rochas Man. This is disappointing to me, because I already own the Rochas, and was expecting something a little stronger and closer to the A*Men scent. I am comparing them side by side on both arms. I liken it to a sweeter, fruitier Rochas Man. Rochas Man has more of a burnt caramel coffee scent, with a kind of cheap feel to it, and A*Men Ultimate is a light coffee scent surrounded by woods, with an elevated quality. There is something fruity and juicy behind the woods, likely the bergamot. It is interesting, but not groundbreaking due to my association with Rochas man. This is a different take on a gourmand as it is drier, dustier and creamier than Rochas. This gets a solid like for me, but not a love like most of the other Pure line. This feels like it’s good for fall, winter and spring. Like most people, I find the longevity to be quite poor. This is surprising to me for juice coming out of a bottle of this shape. Everything else in the A*Men star bottles comes out nuclear strength, with many hours of longevity. This was years ago though...I will have to see how the fragrance improves as it macerates, but it’s a very good scent for me for now. I purchased it full retail in my city. This is a smoother, fresher, less perfumey smelling Rochas Man, but only similar in the opening, as they both change over their life span. There are still similarities in the dry down, but I prefer the fruity woodsiness of A*Men Ultimate, that almost lends this fragrance a leathery accord, and maybe some light licorice. This is a nice surprise, as I don’t get that scent from Rochas. Rochas has more of a musky perfumey vibe to it as well when it dries down. A*Men Ultimate has its own unique scent on dry down, which comes within the hour. As it dries down, hints of the original A*Men make an appearance. It becomes fruitier and brighter than Rochas, and they take different directions upon dry down. There is a hint of A*Men Pure Malt DNA in there somewhere too, leaving a slightly boozy touch. There is a beautiful woody coffee creaminess in the dry down that sets this one apart from the others. It remains detectable as a skin scent for about 3-4 hours a couple of inches above the skin, and a nose to skin scent for about 3-4 hours after that. If you enjoy the scent, be prepared to respray a bit. Mugler A*Men bottles are difficult to decant, so you might have to bring the bottle. If you like to enjoy it on your own at home, you will have no problem with longevity. If you like sweet gourmand fragrances, I think you will enjoy this one a lot. I blind-bought this. The only other Mugler I own is Mugler Cologne, which I really like. The A*Men line, to me, has been too intense. I don't own any of them. Not that I won't. I may eventually. So, when I read about A*Men Ultimate, it sounded different than the previous A*Mens and I thought I'd give it a try. I expected it to be fresher than it is. This one fits in the aromatic fragrance family. It reminds me of JPG Le Male and Versace Eros in that it is a joining of cool and warm. But, it definitely does not smell like these. After a day of use I noticed something. This smells very similar to Trump Empire which I really like. Empire is drier, more refined. Mugler Ultimate is sweeter, less refined--almost seemingly carelessly put together. The opening of A*Men Ultimate is very fresh, aquatic-like. I don't get much bergamot. The fresh fades after about ten seconds into a candy sweetness that reminds me of walking into an old five and dime store full of every candy you can imagine, and I like this but hate it at the same time. I do not detect balsam fir, and there is only a very small hint of cocoa in the dry-down. Vanilla dominates the fragrance, but it is a synthetic vanilla, not natural vanilla. I feel like they were aiming for a similar vibe to Le Male or Eros; even the bottle is blue-green like both those. Projection is minimal, sillage (scent trail) seems almost zero, odor life short, but some of the base notes hang on for a whole day but with no projection. This is likely not a work scent. This is casual fragrance, and could be worn day or night, but I imagine it could be really nice as an after hours/nighttime, date fragrance, or for a day at the beach. I recommend getting a sample of this before buying!!! Opens sweet and spicy. Is gourmand, with creamy cappuccino alongside a clean bergamot note, (which lingers to the end.) Cardamom. Has a cool, brisk feel. A milky quality follows. It remains sweet with some light chocolate wafts on top of vanilla undertones. It gets even sweeter and has a fluffy marshmallow aspect. Then some orange hints emerge beside the sugary, dusty coffee (which also darkens a fraction). Aromatic woody notes (cedar) are present throughout, but the woods gradually intensify towards the base. It's clean, modern, slightly fruity and fresh. Another reviewer mentioned "Caramel macchiato," and I get what they mean. Moderate projection and longevity. Good for year round wear, might be a bit much in high temperatures. More masculine in structure, suits a younger guy, 18-35. Overall it's a modernised version of the original A*Men but with softer projection and shorter longevity. Smells really nice though. (Because it carries the heavy burden of The A*Men name, I feel this was initially (and somewhat unfairly) deemed underwhelming by aficionados. However IMO it's very underrated and has grown on me. I liked it when I first tried it, but as times has gone on my appreciation for this frag has grown and grown, it is honestly such a pleasing scent.)

Just got this in the mail. I thought I wouldn't like this, but idk it smells pretty good. I can smell 5% of the original A*Men here. yeah.. 5% or less, just a little hint of it. And yes it does smell like mocha or chocolatey coffee of some sort. In short this smells like whatever Paco Rabanne's got to offer mixed with a uh, hint of A*MEN's DNA. lasts about.. idk, so far it's been performing less than average-ly , but it could just be the type of fabric that i sprayed it on. I'll have to come back for another review but all in all, it smells kind of fresh. The smell itself is 7.8/10. Update: Smells like Invictus

A*Man Ultimate.....does not mean...Angel Man Ultimate.....just sayin'. This is a rather safe/friendly /basic creation. Fresh....lightly spicy/woody citrus. The coffee sits underneath. I like this a lot so far. A no nonsense scent. Did I really "NEED" this scent..??.....well, no, not really. IMO....on my skin....I pick up (in vibes only)....CH Men.....TM B* Men....and ...ok, yeah, a "touch of JPG Le Male Parfum. Performance/sillage is in the "average" category. Good,not great,but yet still enjoyable. I hope they soon release a new stand alone "blow my mind" scent....(ha ha,yeah,right !).

After reading some of the reviews I was a little skeptical of buying it, but once I got my hands on it, everything changed. A-men Ultimate is a great fresh mix of citrusness, woodiness and sweetness (mainly from the cappuccino note). At the end the dry down is just spectacular...it is kind of a delicious gourmand accord with a little touch of citrus right at the very end!!! Very similar to CH Men and Jean Paul Gaultier On Board but has its own personality. For me it stands at the same level of my other A-men flankers (Pure Energy, Kryptomint, Pure Havane, Original and Pure Malt) 10/10
