Muncierobson - Thanks for the comment. I bought mine from Escentual too. I thought the same as you, but after a day in the office running like a headless chicken, some colleagues could still notice my perfume even though I only sprayed in the morning. Same thing happened last summer when a female friend gave me a hug and said I smelled lovely. I could not smell any hint of Angel on me, but she could. So could it be that we are "bathing" so much in Angel that we have become nose blind?... And also, maybe for those who do not wear this beautiful gem, since they are not used to it they detect it straight away? Hence the importance of not putting too much on... Please keep us posted, it will be interesting to hear what Mugler says. In the meantime I'll carry on spraying ;-)

Let's start a campaign to get the original Angel back on the shelves. The current angel reformulation is a travesty to the iconic and legendary angel fragrance created by Thierry mugler in the 1990s. Mugler needs to stop discontinuing iconic fragrances such as aura and muse and to stop reformulating these iconic fragrances that bear no resemblance to the original and have no lasting power. These new basic and linear releases are a dishonour to this brand. Please comment regarding requesting the original angel to get back on our shelves. If you feel as strongly as I do about this please submit a comment requesting the original angel formulation to be put back on ort shelves by submitting a comment to mugler.co.uk and [email protected] .

I used to wear this scent back in early 2000, the ingredients definitely changed some. I do love the way it smells on my skin. It starts out as a pineapple, patchouli scent, very strong then boom in 10 mins it’s musky, sweet, patchouli, sexy unidentifiable scent radiates through. I only spritz once maybe twice if I’m being daring. It’s definitely a gourmand scent!

Beautiful and mesmerising as you would expect of Angel. I agree with Muncierobson on the fact that Angel seems to have toned down a bit. This certainly allows guys like us to wear it. However, I completely disagree with the comments saying it is a flanker and a different version to the original. Same old, but smoother. Love this one!

I am putting my thoughts on Angel EDP here as my phone will not load the main page. I remember when it came out in the 90s and I hated it, you couldn't go anywhere without being choked in a cloud of vanilla sickly sweet Angel and various copycats. Times and tastes change though, and I have found myself wanting to try this classic. I started with a sample of the 2019 EDT which is lovely but wanted to try the original. It is very, very interesting. On paper a plethora of notes. I have a small sample spray and sprayed a very small amount on neck and wrists. On my skin I immediately get hit with a blast of cold dark patchouli. After a minute or so this subsides a little and then I get a smooth very resiny scent, I guess this is the amber? Mixed in with these is a hint of honey which smells kind of like pollen. I can't smell any fruits.It smells really interesting I can't stop sniffing.I really like this so far but feel I need to live with it a little before I decide whether I get this one or the EDT.I know overspraying this would be a bad idea but I feel the sprays today were very very conservative. Will wear again tomorrow and see. EDIT: On wearing more I again get a mix of patchouli, amber and honey. I sprayed a little more and this took me to the verge of a headache. I get no fruits, no caramel and no vanilla which astounds me as I believed this fragrance was built on sugar. It always amazes me how each individual can take the same fragrance so differently. I like this, it's very different to anything I own or have ever smelled but at the moment I don't think I need to buy it.

My bottle has a chrome cap, is identical but for the chrome cap. Definitely genuine as it's 100% perfect on formula. Very confused. Can't find the bottle listed separately on here so it must be a newer or different version of this? As a side note, anyone who loves this, try La Rive - River. You can thank me later. Great clone at £12/100ml which is perfect for work wear at the price, it's not as strong so I do overapply but it's such a close scent match with a pretty bottle and lovely blue colour. It saves me wasting my Angel EDP for work when I still want to smell like a boss.

The reviewer claiming this version is different is wrong. I own a bottle of this and have worn Angel since its release in 1992. The formula hasn't changed, as the company states, and is just as exquisite and long-lasting as ever. To claim they are lying borders on libel. Love this so much that I'm thinking of buying a second bottle, even though it's refillable. Such an amazing scent. Chocolate, patchouli, and flowers ... so divine!

I haven't smelled Angel for very many years, just when I spray it in store. I have never liked it enough then to buy Angel and I still don't. It actually brings out my BO and it stinks. The liquid in Gravity Star is heavenly compared to the Angel I've smelled over the years. It compliments my body chemistry rather than bringing out the worst. I will always cherish this bottle.

Modern Angel formulation in a new bottle. Bottle is hard to hold and makes spraying difficult for smaller or older hands. Hope they never discontinue the lay down star. It does look like a sculptural piece of art though. Mugler gets presentation in a sea of plain bottles.

Just called Mugler and yes to all the people that are saying it's the same Angel ! It is. It's just a new bottle , like a collectors bottle. Exact same fragrance. Refillable and all. Notes listed here on fragrantica are wrong.

It is so annoying to see people have voted for notes before something has even come out. On a side note, why does it have different notes? I thought it was the same perfume in a new bottle

It's just a 75ml of the same fragrance. Many websites call it Gravity Star. It's said to be a permanent product. There is also a new 100ml bottle that's vertical.

Angel 2015=Angel 1992. I have "old" angel and new angel. I feel no distinction. The bottle is beautiful.

Still the same classic Angel but the new bottle is truly a work of art!

It's the same narcotic Angel formulation 💙
