Angel Étoile des Rêves

I finally got my hands on this after desperately searching the shops around my area. Finally found it at the Bay where I live (also available for order off Hudson Bay online, Shoppers Drug Mart online and Nordstrom). Guys - WOW. This is, by far, one of the most beautiful, decadent fragrances I have added to my collection to date. If you love the original Angel, this is 100% a sure bet. If you like the original Angel but find it too loud and hard to wear, you NEED this flanker in your life! It does share similarities to the original, yes, but they are absolutely not the same. I own and love the original, but don't find it all that gourmand, and do find it very heavy on the patchouli. The patchouli is still present in this one, but it's much tamer and softer. Etoile des Reves is much sweeter and totally, unabashedly gourmand. To my nose, it smells of rich, decadent chocolate, swirled with soft patchouli, praline and even softer musk. I'm not a huge fan of strong musk in fragrances, but in this one it lends a sensual feel to it, and is incredibly well blended with the other notes. The projection is very satisfying - it's not a monster like the original Angel, but it does radiate beautifully, about a foot or two around you. I like to be able to smell my fragrances, and I continually get whiffs of this all day long. It's not a room filler, though, so you need not worry about offending people with this one. Longevity is really great - this lasts all day long and overnight, and before my shower in the morning I can still easily smell this on me. The bottle is gorgeous, although not as depicted in the picture on Fragrantica. It's a light, slightly frosted medium, mid-tone blue (not opaque in any way, you can still see the blue juice inside), and the bottle has the stars and moons (or whatever those circles are) on it. It's got an atomizer pump on it, which is the only option for using it. If you prefer to press down on the trigger when you spray your fragrance, you won't be able to do that with this one. It does make it a little more difficult to spray on your wrists, but it can be done, and is a minor complaint. Bottle stands up on its own, and lays somewhat on it's side - a truly gorgeous addition to any collection. If you love gourmand fragrances, this will surely not disappoint. Since it's limited edition, I am strongly considering buying a backup - it's that gorgeous! Edit: January 12, 2017 I have to write an update now that I've properly worn this stunning fragrance for a solid month. I cannot put into words how utterly gorgeous this is. It has gotten the most attention in my collection for the past month, and that never happens. Also, I wanted to update on the longevity. Above, I said it was great. I have changed my mind, the longevity is FANTASTIC! I wanted to do a little experiment because the longevity is that incredible. The last spray was on Monday morning (it's now Wednesday afternoon), and I have showered daily since - I can STILL smell this on my forearm where I sprayed it!!!! Literally insane. A must buy for Angel lovers.

I actually love it! It's Angel softened all the way around and may be exactly what your looking for if your one of the people who want to love Angel but find it too loud. I found that the white musk is what tempers the entire fragrance. Not citrusy at all. If you love Angel , collect etc.. You definately want this. The fragrance is truly lovely but not an exact twin of Angel. You do get a lot of parfum in this Angel 3.4 oz. I found out from Mugler that it is not intended to be limited edition - It is also not listed as limited. The bottle is really pretty however it's not like the picture. It's actually frosted glass, not dark blue opaque. The fragrance is blue, the outside box is attractive and is iconic Angel lilac/blue with their new MUGLER title as opposed to Thierry Mugler. Unique code is included for circle registration. 5 stars! - It was exactly what I was looking for to layer with Angel body products. I wanted it to be Angels sister, very close sister but not her identical twin. Smells really well blended to me and to the other 2 people I asked to smell it from the bottle. The bulb atomizer does have a (turn on or off by twisting the left or right) it appears to be sealing off to prevent evaporation. You can only spray via bulb not by pushing nozzle. You can also open and use as a splash. Like I said - love it! I believe others will too but it will depend on how wildly different you expect this to be. It smells beautiful & was not dissapointed! In-fact, I was delighted!

It took me quite a while to form a solid opinion on this since getting it, but I think I'm finally ready to put it on paper. This, to me, is basically the dry-down version of the OG Angel. That soft, cozy sweetness that so many people love but have a hard time waiting for because the OG's opening is so violating to them. I know it's intended to be used at night and on sheets, but honestly, I wear it normally and I'm loving every moment of it. The bottle is pure magic, too, and is a delight to use. You truly feel like a princess when you use that vintage sprayer and sink into that luscious scent. The only issue I had with this is that the sprayer only really allows you to spray a very tiny amount of the fragrance at a time, which is probably done on purpose so that the perfume is more of a whisper, and you also can't take it anywhere with you if you intend to wear it throughout the day. I solved both issues by pouring some of it into a smaller perfume container (I had an empty refillable 25ml bottle of the OG that I kept, thankfully), and this way I can really douse myself in this heavenly mist and take it with me on the go. I actually feel like a proper sprayer makes this scent much stronger, and you can easily wear it as a daytime perfume. Overall 10/10 in my opinion, if I find another bottle I'll get it as back up. It's easier to wear than the OG because it's soft straight away, but still has that sweet naughtiness.

Angel Etolie des Reves is amazing ! I have been wearing it for the past 4 days. My general rules for reviews is to wear a scent at least a few days before writing a review. One doesn’t get to know a scent in a few hours or a run to the mall with a squirt to the hand , with other fragrances around. Anyways when I first smelled this I thought it was the same as the original angel or at least very very close. However now I realize it’s quite a bit different. This one is much softer than Angel EDP , it’s more muted and easier to like. I LOVE the EDP but only if sprayed once or tops twice ,it can be dark and overpowering. This one however is light and soft ,sweet and cottony ,super pleasant and edible ,sexy and dreamy. Almost has a milky presents. It’s basically the same smell as EDP but made ,softer ,more pleasant to the main crowd and lighter and more musky. The bottle is super cute and the diffuser puts just enough juice on you if you spray it twice or 3 times. I generally spray my skin but with this one I love it on my clothes. It developed just as good ,if not better on my clothes as it does on my skin ,which I can’t say about many fragrances. Complete winner ! And no I don’t only wear this to bed as suggested. I love it all day , but it is beautiful snuggle scent. The smell resembles an Oreo cookie , my husband is obsessed with it.

This is so delicious! OK, here's the thing: it is 95% similar to the original Angel indeed, no doubt about it, but it's *just* different enough that I can see it working for someone that didn't love the EdP. It really could go either way. It is still distinctly and recognizably Angel, but the stinky patchouli dissipates way faster, and you "get to the good stuff" (the gourmand notes) almost immediately. The patchouli is still present in the heart and drydown, but less sharp. Where the original Angel turns a bit sour on my skin, this one feels more comforting and gentle, it has a powdery and musky aspect that is just lovely. One small aesthetic detail: it always bothered me how Angel turns yellow and then brown with age, ruining the look of the blue star bottle, but the blue liquid in my sample of Étoile just got a teal, green-ish tint to it, and I assume this fragrance (being a limited edition) was only produced in 2016, so it is quite old already. Hopefully it stays this way!

I finally received my full bottle last week. As already discussed a lot ;) the bottle is gorgeous, but hard to use. The top twists open and closed and you need to pump the little old-fashioned atomizer puff quite a bit, and it is awkward and slightly clumsy..but looks great on ones vanity! The scent is VERY Angel edP, so if you are an edP lover...this will be your thing, for sure! I have worn Angel since 1994 (have never!!! been without it), and have had almost every "flanker" and actually most of Mugler's other scents! This fragrance is a softer version of Angel edP. To my nose, all the same notes are there, but Mugler just softened them. Sillage and longevity are not great, but it is nice having a scent that is exactly what I love, and I can just puff that little atomizer as much as I want and not really overdo it!

I have been wearing Angel Edp since July 1999. I have since bought about two large bottles per year, and have all the bath products, as well as some collectors' bottles and the liqueur. I am really excited about this new Angel version. I bought it about three weeks ago and am so happy I did! Lovely bottle, outstanding variation! The original Angel Edp is slightly off putting at first spray, and have to wait about ten minutes for it to morph into its true beauty and depth. The Etoile Des Reves reaches it in just about a minute or less. Longevity on skin is about the same as the original. I wouldn't waste this beauty by spraying it on your bedsheets-spray it on just YOU!!! I will go into an extreme depression if this is ever discontinued!

I love spraying this bed linen spray on my bedsheets before bed. It's so unbelievably smooth and creamy. I was unsure about the "milky" accord, but it works beautifully, and adds a gentle smoothness to the Angel fragrance. Occasionally I'll spray it on my skin, but the design of the bottle makes it difficult to do, and kind of impractical to do regularly. On my skin, it's a more romantic, smoother version of Angel. Angel is sweet, but she's unapologetic and doesn't care what you think of her. She's not afraid of being dirty, and if you can't keep up with her, she has no time for you. Etoile des Reves tones her down, makes her more comfortable, quieter, gentler. It's like the difference between sexual and sensual.

I REALLY dislike the orginal Angel, but this one is maybe one of my favorite scents of all time. And the funny thing is that they are SO similar to one-another, but this one is more gentle, sexy, sensual and warm. The polar opposite of the crisp orginial Angel. Both similar yet so very different. Update: I've tried layering this with Dior Addict and oh my god. I feel like a goddess. The milky aspect of Angel ÉDR swirls up with Addict's bitter vanilla and takes it up higher. Soothes it almost. The green note of Addict shines through and pairs up very well with the patchouli of ÉDR. Two of my all time favorite fragrances and both compliment each other VERY nicely. 10/10 vanilla stars!

If you love Angel EdP then you are bound to love Etoile des Reves. This doesn't just have the same DNA as Angel (as you might say about Angel Muse), rather it is 99% identical to it. The 1% difference is that it is ever so slightly softer and sweeter, which I think is down to the praline note. It is just as long-lasting as Angel EdP but not quite as strong or loud. I'm amazed in fact, given that Etoile des Reves supposedly only has five notes, just how similar it is to Angel EdP! How did they manage that??! Anyhow, if you already have Angel then this isn't something you would 'need', although personally I love it and definitely want to add it to my collection.

I just bought this and I LOVE it. Note that Angel is my signature, so it's not surprising that I like it. If you really don't like the original Angel, you won't like this. It basically smells the same but it's a lot warmer and sits much closer to the skin. Less fruit and spice, more gourmand. Some folks on the message boards say that it smells very similar to the original formulation of Angel EDP from the 90s, but not nearly as strong. I definitely get more of a chocolate vibe with this one, especially after I've worn it for several hours. It's more present from the beginning but after several hours it really warms up and smells soooooo good!

This is Angel wrapped in smooth, creamy milk chocolate. The signature patchouli is still there, but instead of feeling damp or earthy, it's soft, powdery, and beautifully blended into this creamy chocolate accord. It's softer than the original Angel, yet it still creates a beautiful scent bubble that lingers. The original Angel is bold, loud, and unapologetic. Étoile des Rêves, on the other hand, feels like Angel giving you a warm hug. I have backups of this one because I find it so much more wearable throughout the year, whether it's day or night. It's comforting, addictive, and everything I love about Angel in a softer, cozier form.

Absolutely adorable fragrance. The cuter, softer little sister of Angel housed in the most adorable bottle ever. A real gem for the dressing table. Compared to the original this is softer and milkier. I do like the original, but I don't love it. On me Angel smells like ONLY patchouli after ruffly 15 minutes. Nothing against patchouli, in fact I love it, but I want something else as well in a fragrance. This one on the other hand keeps the gourmand notes of vanilla and chocolate all day. Longevity is superb on me, over 8 hours, but the sillage is softer than the original and less in your face. All in all a gorgeous creation.

This is pretty much the drydown of OG Angel EDP with a creamier touch. No spices or cumin, and less fruity (or maybe it's just my bottle was not stored properly, because when I received it the cap was not closed properly and juice leaked everywhere). It feels more linear than the OG but maybe it's because I dabbed it instead of spraying it. There is definitely more vanilla and some musk in the background. If OG is a dark chocolate mixed with dried fruits, Étoile des Rêves is pure milk chocolate. I never tried the Angel chocolate released in 2017, but I'd imagine it smells like this

I think I tried it today at the department store, and by "think" I mean that the bottle color was ligther and there was no pump. I also sprayed the original Angel version on my other wrist to compare them and the difference is more than noticeable. Etoile des Reves is softer and lighter, however it keeps this original Angel allure that has made it the myth is is today. I also found it slightly more powdery and I think it suits my skin a little better than the original. I feel that I will buy it, provided it is still available next winter.

If you like Angel but feel the patchouli is a little unruly and difficult to wear, this is the like that will become the love for you. This is Angel dipped in warm milk chocolate. It’s so good. I have both this and the original Angel and this is the one that draws compliments like crazy. It still has the dirty patchouli, it’s just prettier and more gourmand. And the bottle!! It’s even more beautiful in person - who doesn’t love a classic spritz poof? I immediately ordered two back ups of this beauty. She’s top ten for life.

Hi everyone It is available on mugler.com here in the USA. When I type in mugler in my URL bar it automatically takes me there, I guess, because I live in the US. It says it's an official website and Thierry Mugler / clarins group list it as such. It's on the home page slide show and "NEW" section. I have called them several times but no one knows anything about it yet except what's listed above.. I guess October is when they may launch in stores and they said October is when they have a big training seminar

Love it!! This limited edition is much tamer than the original and not as sweet as the Eau Sucree's. Etoile des Reves sits closer to the skin and this makes it a more SENSUAL fragrance. I wouldn't spray it on my bed linens as I prefer a scent-free night, but it is DELICIOUS sprayed on your scarf, etc. The bottle is quite pretty and sits up on its own and is a lighter blue colour than what is depicted in the advertisement. Oohh, and did I tell you that I love it?!

A rich and comforting scent with a crisp spicy praline. I love this at night time on a cold day. It gives you comfort and hugs you into a peaceful cashmere lullaby. It lasts about 5 hours on my skin. It smells a bit like Angel but very very toned down. The most evident notes to me are Praline, Bergamot, and Patchouli. The bottle is also very beautiful and dreamy with a matte finish and star decorations. It really depicts the feeling of the perfume to me.

A slightly smoother version of the original, this captivating composition pairs praline-like sweetness with deep patchouli notes. The intention to create a nighttime fragrance is perceptible in its softer overall intensity, yet both the sillage and longevity remain strong. A tremendous pleasure to wear, complemented by a truly beautiful bottle. A treasure.

I just came across this while searching for another scent to wear and decided to go with this , she has a moderate projection but smells of the Orginal classic Angel , still a love at first smell and take me back to simple times of 1993 when I first purchased OG Classic Angel . I do miss the perfume permeating the room like it used to ......

Great flanker, this stuff is great if you like angel but want a less bracing version. This doesn't have that chlorinated harshness or scatterbrained notes of the original, this is more just praline-vanilla-patchouli. It's like a lullaby version of the original, it has a pillowy bedtime feel. The bottle is accurate in that way

I’m looking for a bottle to buy! Can be used! Thought it smelled exactly like Angel and was pointless as a flanker. But the more I wore it the more I realized it was sweeter and not as bitter and I was picking it up over original Angel. This is as close to Angel as you’re gonna get, without actually being Angel.

I know I wrote a review the other day but this!! I truely can’t stop thinking about it. Again- it’s so so bad on clothes and paper but on my skin... HEAVENLY VANILLA!!! Does anybody know a dupe/similar fragrance to this? Please 🫠 Because it really can’t be compared to the normal angel at all.

This is Angel, straight up Angel EDP with no edit apart from the bottle. I bought it because I love the bottle but the fragrance is no different from the usual star bottle - at least not to my nose. If you love Angel and love pretty bottles, it's worth getting.

One of the most lovely, delicious, and endearing fragrances It smells like rich, luscious chocolate mingled with gentle patchouli, praline, and even softer musk and is really beautifully combined with the other components.

My bottle of this basically fragrances my entire room just sitting on the shelf, because the atomiser pump just lets it sweat out into the cosmos.... 😭 🌙 ☄️ ✨ Very woody, very vanillic. Ventures into Shalimar territory.

Every review is spot on. It really took a while to understand this one on my skin but honestly I really don’t dislike it at all! Let it breathe! The patchouli really decreases and turns so nice with the vanilla

oh, heaven. angel on easy mode, the dirtiness and masculinity washed away. how neptune smells in my dreams. cold blue menthol topped with sugar and cream. exotic and friendly.

Glorious bottle, gorgeous spritzer, fabulous scent. I wish projection was stronger, but I realize that this is marketed as a "perfume for the night".

This smells exactly like OG Angel, but brighter somehow...maybe because this one opens with the same scent as maple and brown sugar poptarts

Just got this one on sale. Just adore the bottle, looks like something from a scifi movie. Lovely soft Angel fragrance. I'm enjoying the dry down with its warm milky praline vanilla patch mix. However, slightly disconcerted by the heart, I detected something slightly urine like? Does anyone else get this? Thought it might be a side effect of the bergamot note. Hoping my chemistry was just off today. I will try it again tomorrow and hope it's just as perfect as everyone else describes. I've always been a little touch and go with Angel. Update: having worn this for a few days, I have reacquainted myself with Angel. Yes, there is a slightly urine hint. This comes from the slightly rotten fruit opening characteristics of Angel. I do detect a touch of BO as well, but you know what, that's just Angel for you. It's a little bit dirty. But it's also very very good. Such a rich fragrance dripping in gourmand. This one illicits lots of compliments (others will only smell the yummy part of its aura), and it lasts for days. It's not overly pungent though. There is a hint more 'cleanness' to this, with the bergamot and the musk. Love it.

Try this on skin! When I tested it on paper it was syrupy sweet and smelled like BO, but on my skin, it was gorgeous. This is the first gourmand scent I’ve ever fallen for, it’s that good. I did not smell the BO on my skin, thankfully, though I was worried and only tested it out on a day where I had no where else to be but home, just in case. The praline and vanilla are grounded by the patchouli, which is a smooth, sweet patchouli, not the dirty kind. This perfume is happy and warm. I’m so surprised I liked this! It projects moderately and later about 4-5 hours on skin. This is probably discontinued, knowing my luck (I had received a sample from someone), but regardless I am going to be on the lookout for this!

I was desperate for this upon launch and it sold out.. THEN suddenly reappeared on Mugler UK... and reduced! I am thrilled! This is very close to the original Angel EDP. While softer in projection it still lasts a long time. Angel EDP was always caramel heavy on my skin and while I still own and love the EDP, it's more powdery and chocolate heavy. The drydown on this is amazing! To casual fans it may be too similar in personality to the original but for a Mugler Addict, this is just what the Dr ordered! I love the bottle and the atomiser. It does feel delicate but I am glad to see the option to 'turn it off' to preserve the scent and prevent contamination. If you love Angel, you will love this precious edition!

A much more gentle and subdued version of Angel EDP, and also somewhat weak performance wise. Unfortunately also on fabric. This soft and gentle version is wonderful, though, when you are into Angel, and it is, of course, way more wearable in the sense it will not punch at everyones nostrils, when you enter a room or walk by them. In fact it is but a whisper, where Angel EDP is shouting and demanding attention. So! I can spray away with this one, and will do so, and enjoy it for what is is: the cute, cuddly baby of a gorgeous, powerful, sexy predator. And the bottle is cute as well. Not beautiful, but undoubtedly cute.

One more pleasure in the Angel galaxy. Mugler still launches beautiful and affordable bottles for its perfumes and admirers, not only > $ 10.000! After a long break I'm back into Angel's spellbound and this little sister stands next to my bed, easy to grab and spray. No projection but lasts on fabric and smells nice under the blanket. Soft enough for any heavy heavy sprayer who expects nice sweet dreams. But too musky and too sweet to be compared with original 1992 Angel.

This is a smoother version of an Angelesque fragrance. Its not Angel EDP. It hovers like a cloud. Not a lot of story..more experience ...which is why I called it angelesque. I find it more interesting than the reformulated edp. Praline, Bergmot and Patchouli with vanilla in the background. Great fragrance!

Edit: I still absolutely love the scent but given the full retail price is over £100... the atomiser feels flimsy and I’m worried it will not last. You can twist it ‘off’ but I will not be taking this anywhere... it shall live in a dark room in its upright position. The scent is divine!

Quite similar to other Angels in the Mugler family. Especially the top notes are like 'nothing new'. However, after a while it is a lot softer than its angelic cousins. Well rounded, pleasant, it should please Angel fans.

Definitely Angel but a toned down version of it. Smells like Angel with MILK splashed on top!. It's ok, but doesnt last nearly as long as the original.... I'll stick to the regular one. ☺

Definitely way more subtle than the original. Maybe the atomizer gets out less product? i sprayed it 3 times and got pretty wet, but it's nowhere near as strong as the original.

my first taste of Angel. I'm getting mostly honey, caramel & a lot of chamomile? which might be the bergamot + patchouli but i'm no expert. sweet and a little bit earthy, very dreamy. sprayed on my sheets as recommended and slept like a princess (no pea). Étoile des rêves lasts several hours; it might last longer if i sprayed more but the opening is STRONG and i'd rather reapply a couple of times in a day and still be able to breathe. i love the bottle but not the bulb atomizer, although I understand the artistic intention. beyond that, as ever i'm weak for a good bottle and the frosted glass with the celestial cutouts is one of my favourite. the stars are even slightly asymmetrical/elongated to match the profile of the original Angel bottle, which is a nice touch. I'm not sure how I'll feel in the heat but right now, in the winter nights, it's a little bit of magic. also worth noting my bottle was a full tester from a discount site and the liquid has turned a slightly greenish shade just like some fragram photos and other reviews have mentioned, but the scent seems unaffected. if it's lost any of how it's "supposed" to smell, it's not apparent.
