From Angel hater to Angel LOVER! And now theres a beautiful red bottle. Could this possibly be any better... I dont think so. This is blue Angel dressed in red, and that doesnt make her worse. I looooooove the scent and I loooooove the bottle. I love to smell like a tasty cup cake all day. Theres no one like Angel. Forever in love

there are a lot of bored housewives out there (like me ;) who are gonna appreciate every bottle-change anyway. I love it for my collection no matter if the scent is exactly the same, because I love the Color of the bottle. so what? to all those haters out there: just ignore it and dont buy it but laeve those alone, who actually enjoy all those new things. peace.

Just bought this and you can totally disregard the notes-- all I'm getting is patchouli. Not even getting the dark chocolate-y scent of blue Angel. So disappointed but I got it for a bargain. Now I have two bottles of Angel. ̄_(ツ)_/ ̄

such pretty bottles, a shame I really do not like the fragrance

Yes it's absolutely the same , I asked the sales rep but already knew prior , just wanted to be 100% sure. Some people here still believe it's different. All that's different is the bottle. Mugler and many others do that ever so often as a sales pitch and as a collector bottle. Here to Angel , it's starting to be a classic for sure. I have to say I love it. Although I fall in and out of love with it but I love the core , the idea of it. The first gourmand , sexy edible and delicious. Smells of caramel, honey and chocolate , sweet and suductive. It's definitely a patchouli bomb , that's why some love it and some hate it. Strong patchouli fragrances aren't for everyone. I love them , such a great herb/ plant and beside lavender one of my favourites . Patchouli is in the mint family , so I think you may even have to like mint in order to truly love patchouli , and mint is another smell a few people just don't like. Certainly not for the faint !

If they say it is the same then it is the same. But I could swear that the tester I tried at the airport is not exactly the same as the blue angel that is now in the shops, since I own few Angels and detect the slightest difference even between different shops, testers, perfumes (of the same blue edp). Juice in the red Passion bottle had more earthy dusty patchouli, was a bit darker, more nutty and more woody, almost like combination between Angel Muse and EDP. The dark chocolate was also more prominent. The drydown is almost the same like the blue bottle. Is it because of hyper production of blue star that got watered down by time, or that specific tester was the highest quality, but this juice was stronger and darker compared to creamy, greenish, honey -sweet and a somewhat lighter blue bottle. Can't say that the perfume that one buys would be the same as the tester.

I've always loved Angel and I was gutted because I originally thought that I'd missed the boat with this one. However, going onto a certain site, I managed to find one so I contacted the seller asking for the reason for selling and the reply was that "...I love Angel but this new one doesn't suit me"!! I did try to get it through to her that this was the exact same juice as before but she wouldn't believe me. I really only wanted the bottle (favourite colour) so I ended up getting a real bargain! I noticed that the US Mugler site has a lot more than the UK one, including this and other flankers. I wish they would do the same over here. Anyway, it's a beautiful bottle, and along with Angel ToF and the Mysterious star, this is undoubtedly one of my favourites.

Some of the reviews here make me think of the experiment where placebo pills of different colors were given to the participants, who experiences different effects after ingesting them. Blue sugar pills were described as the most efficient ones. With other words: packaging and colors might trick our senses and mind. I have this one and I can swear it's Angels, nothing more, nothing less. Slight variations betweens batches might play a minor role, yet I'm still doubting about that. And this applies to many other TM bottles, but: this plastic top is/looks/feels cheap. Stainless steel is not that expansive, and a masterpiece like Angel deserves better than that.

I was at Macy's a couple weeks ago. The Sales Rep was handing out samples of this. I asked her what it was. She said a new TM, kind of like Angel. She wouldn't say any more. It seems senseless to me. I like Angel alot, and I also like Alien. But I don't understand the "head-game" here. Shame on TM for thinking he can pull one over on us. Why doesn't he just call it what it is, "Angel in a Red Star". Unless it's in fact...."Angel in a Red Star watered down"!!! Hopefully the Red Star won't eventually replace the Blue Star!!!!!!

This seems a bit unfair. I can attest to Taste of Fragrance (bitter chocolate)and Eau Sucree being quite different from the original Angel, but to be honest, I don't get much difference between the Eau Sucree 2014 and 2015 editions. Maybe the sorbet adds a hint of citrus to the 2015, but it's very hard to tell (and I've tried them on each arm). But these notes are the same as original Angel, yet they're calling it a new fragrance... what gives, House of Mugler?

This is exactly the same as angel. Just in limited edition packaging. I have had this and the angel in the blue star. I used to LOVE the smell when I was younger, and I got a lot of complements when I wore it. It's a really great one, I'm just not loving it anymore. Now it smells too complex to me. There are a lot of notes in here, a lot going on, and that makes it smell heavy and confusing to me. Maybe I'll come back to it in a few years and like it again.

A more modern variation of the original Angel, but keeps the same DNA. They clearly removed the Caraway notes, and boosted the fruity notes. I like the original, but I love Passion Star. It is more vanilla, more sweet, and less earthy and spicy than Angel. It might appeal to a larger majority, and is not at all polarizing like the OG. If you are a fan of Angel, you should love this one, but not the other way around! 9/10

i got this one today and i think its little bit different it tend to be more vanilla thick vanilla combined with less patchouli and that important to me hate the original because of patchouli bomb but i think this more airy and patchouli is less it can be little bit lighter but one spray is enough and stay long

On Thierry Muglers facebook page, I posed the question about this bottle on their recent post of it and here's the answer I got, straight from the horses mouth: "It is still your favorite fragrance - just a new bottle to add to the collection! Absolutely stunning right?!" Hope that clears up any confusion. ❤

I want this because i really want to stock up on on Angel since it's now been watered down do to reformulation and the bottle looks pretty cool! But I'll admit this in my opinion was a missed opportunity. What would of been neat is if this red one was called "Devil" and focused more on the red notes

To Germany: you said "you have to like mint in order to truly love patchouli". Not exactly. I love patchouli and patchouli fragrances and I HATE mint and its variations (pepermint, spearmint, etc) on fragrances - just like to drink them as tea.

I understand the comments below, but why in this review (above) say very boldly "this is a new fragrance"??? And the notes are also different to the original. Has someone tried it, please?? Edit: they have now changed the description.

Stunning bright red star! I bought mine from the Mugler website and had my name engraved in all caps with the “A” as a stylized Angel star. This fragrance is exactly the same as Angel, and I love Angel! ’Nuff said.

It's the regular Angel. Exactly the same. The bottle is stunning and, dare I say it, even better than the blue (but red IS my favorite color).

@ellebelle84 It's the original fragrance only in a new bottle, so you have already tried it several times.

My god, this sounds incredible! I can't wait to try this, such a overload of sweets and gourmands- yum!

In the description at the top of this page it says it's a new fragrance so I'm confused?

Regular Angel in a red bottle. Nothing more. Nothing less.
