Ice*Men

در ابتدا باید در مورد نامگذاری این عطر صحبت کنم. این عطر همونطور که مشخصه به اسم یخ هست.و شیشه ی عطر هم به شکل کاملا زیبایی به این مورد اشاره میکنه. از نظر من این اسم گذاری کاملا نامربوطه. گیاهانی مثل نعناع هستند که این حس سردی رو القا میکنند. در حالیکه در این عطر از نت نعناع اصلا استفاده نشده و عطر؛ عطر بسیار خنکی به هیچ وجه نیست و حتی میشه گفت که بطور یکسان در فصول بهار و تابستان میشه ازش استفاده کرد و مثل عطرهای خیلی خنک فقط مخصوص فصول خیلی گرم سال نیست. این عطر در ابتدا با بوی واضح خاک مرطوب شروع میشه. از همان شروع اسپری کردن؛ بویی ریشه مانند داره. دقیقا مثل اینه که یک گیاه ریشه دار رو از خاکی که تازه به آن اب داده شده در میارین بیرون و ریشه اش رو بو میکنین بعد ده دقیقه از اون رطوبت ریشه گیاه کاسته میشه و کم کم به سمت شاداب بودن (فرش بودن) حرکت میکنه بطوری که بعد از بیست دقیقه هیچ اثری از اون ریشه ی مرطوب وجود نداره. این حسی که در این مرحله وجود داره بطور قطع و یقین مربوط به گیاه نعناع هندی یا پاچولی میشه. بعد از 30دقیقه جوز هندی کم کم بویش ظاهر میشه اگه بخواهم تشخیص نت جوز هندی رو از دیدگاه خودم بیان کنم باید یه نوار قلب رو تجسم کنید که در کف این نوار قلب نت نسبتا شاداب و فرشی در حال انتشاره و با گذشت زمان به یکباره پیک جوز هندی زیاد میشه بطوری که شما که داشتین به مدت مثلا 20 ثانیه موضع رو بو میکردین و تنها نت تقریبا فرش رو حس میکردین؛ به یکباره نت جوز هندی ظاهر میشه و درست مانند همون حرکات الکتروکاردیوگرام دوباره محو میشه و به حالت نت قبلی که نت فرش بود میرسه. منظورم اینه که جوز هندی در تمام زمانهای نت های میانی عطر قابل استشمام نیست. حدود سه ربع که از عمر عطر گذشته عطر آیس من موگله خیلی شبیه به عطر دبیت مردانه از برند باربری و نیز عطر پیور شات از برند موگله میشه. خود من اولش یکم از ابتدای شروع عطر ناامید شدم. ولی بعد از سه ربع که بوی خوب و فرح بخش عطر دبیت رو حس کردم؛ عقیده ام راجع به این عطر تغییر کرد. تغییر نت بویایی عطر از نتهای ابتدایی به میانی بسیار مشهوده و به نظرم هر کسی کامل متوجه تغییر در پلکان بویایی عطر میشه. بعد از ظاهر شدن نت فرح بخش ذکر شده دیگه تغییری رو در عطر نخواهید دید و تا انتها به همین نحو خواهد بود. کاش آقای ژاک هوکلیه سازنده ی عطر نتی دیگه غیر از نت موجود رو برای عطر در مرحله ی نت ابتدایی در نظر میگرفت. مثلا گیاه نعناع که لااقل متناسب با اسم عطر باشه. در ضمن فکر میکنم که این نت آغازین یه عامل بازدارنده در خرید عطر در کسانی که فقط عطر رو با زدن به دستشون بلافاصله تهیه میکنند؛ باشه At the first, I have to talk about the naming of this perfume. I wish Mr. Jacques Hoquelier, the perfume maker, would have considered another note other than the existing note for the perfume in the initial note stage. At the same time, I think that this opening note is a deterrent factor in buying perfume for those who just apply the perfume to their hands immediately; OK.

Launched in 2007, Ice*Men was one of the few fragrances that came from the Mugler house, but it kept a different proposition within the AMen line. It has plenty of leather on the daily company paper, clean, comfortable and elegant. Ideal for first, see and start. It does not work in winter in these regions which are not very cold. Ice*Men is a refreshing proposal within the Mugler universe, which is generally dominated by intense and original perfumes. Aqui, temos a fragrância mais clean, sofisticada et discreet, mas ainda com aquele toque fora do comum que a marca sabe fazer. It's a perfect option for Mugler's taste but it's less aggressive and we don't use it on a daily basis. Final score: 8.9/10 A fragrance that is unfairly underestimated, which most of all is fresh and sophisticated and can be combined with others, but loses its personality.

Sillage: Great. (A) Longevity: Great. 10+ hours(A) Originality: Very Unique. This is not your typical summer fragrance.(A) Craftsmanship: Very creative. This is not a delicate expertly crafted double consomme. This is a chunky unapologetic stew...done well. (A-) Scent (Subjective): Full disclosure...I am a Mugler fanboy. Putting aside a couple of epic fails (which shall go nameless) I love everything they do. Ice Men is one of my favorites. I appreciate the feel of a Mugler frag on a hot day. Havanne and A*Men are waiting for the jackets to come out. About Ice Men, who else can take musk and patchouli and cram it into a summer frag AND then have the audacity to put "Ice" in the name? When I think of fresh summery notes these aren't what comes to mind. This is an artful contradiction. And I don't know where Mugler gets their patchouli but it is good, earthy and dense. This isn't one of their best known frags. I've never seen in a retail setting. Fine by me...let it be unique. I love this. (A) Season: Hot summer days Drydown: It heats up with you. I think this one really evolves depending how my day goes. If I'm inside it stays cool. If I'm in the sun sweating it gets a little wild. "It's alive!" Value: Great bargain...if you can find it Gender: Guys only IMO. Universality: My guess is that this is polarizing. Love it or leave it. Very casual. Learning Curve: I really enjoy inhaling this throughout the day, focusing from note to note. The opening gives a good clue as to what will happen with time. Ice Men grows on me with each wearing. It's not the only thing I wear in the summer but I really have fun with this one. If you are a collector and you don't like it at first I would give a try on a different day. Humidity and temperature change how this one works. Emotional Response: This is a fun devil may care frag. I really like it. I find myself grabbing more than any other summer scent on my shelf. Comment: If you want a simple clean summer scent there are plenty of other choices out there. This is different. This is denser, even funky, summer stuff. I am personally biased toward winter scents. Summertime is relatively boring for this collector. So I really appreciate the substantive originality of Ice Men.

This is extraordinary. Look out everyone, A*men has taken his suit and tie off, and is taking a swim in his pool after mowing the lawn and clipping the hedges! It astonishes me how Jaques was able to keep a firm grip onto the base notes of the original, and still manage to create something green and fresh! The top: Read with confidence, there is without a DOUBT a menthol aroma chemical in here. Along with a very pungent nutty earthy nutmeg. The first blast of this bad-boy is very cold and dry. The middle: To me the middle is dominated by a moist rose smell. As if there is a singular rose bush in the middle of a humid urban area, being drenched by dirty thunderstorm rain, along with just a touch of cinnamon spice. The base: I get A*men's signature base here, nothing much to be mentioned, if you've smelled it you know exactly what i'm talking about. Along with some very harsh cilantro and basil notes, acting like bad kids, acting arrogant to grab your attention! I approve. This is an excellent summer execution of a strictly fall/winter scent Smell: 9 Longevity: 8 Sillage: 7

Initially I was shocked at how unique this fragrance is. It is something totally different when compared to the gourmandness of the A*Men DNA but in a good way. It's a very hard scent to describe or compare to most mainstream perfumes. It is definitely a summer scent but not an aquatic. The initial top note is very fresh and powerful yet indescribable and unique. I would say its a nice frozen nutmeg and a synthetic patchouli which is nothing like the patchouli in AMen or Pure Leather. It's a cool patchouli that's smells like nothing else. It is very nice and I get a fresh sexy vibe from it, definitely something a woman would be drawn to. The projection is strong for the first hour (3-5ft) but then quickly drops off to within a few inches for the next 2 hours and then completely down at 5 hours unless direct sniff. This is perfect for summer if you like to spray every few hours. It's also a perfect option if you love being original and enjoy Mugler. The only negative is the quick loss of projection but compared to most summer fragrances it is on par.

Pure Muglerade, distilled down into one amazing fragrance. This is what lies at the base of every A*Men flanker, underneath all the thick gourmand notes, tobacco, whiskey, etc. Strip that all away, and you have Ice*Men: that musky patchouli with a gentle hint of spice that is Mugler's signature. I am not a hardcore patch fan, and usually cannot wear patchouli-forward fragrances, but this one captivates me. Its dirty/earthy quality is tamed in favor of a green, somewhat clean patchouli with a synthetic hint, a quality that actually makes the patch more wearable for a non-patch lover like me. Simple in structure, all the notes blend hazily together in a delightful manner. I can understand why it was discontinued, as it probably isn't a crowd-favorite, but it sure was an equally risky and bold idea to create a fresh fragrance based on these notes. It reminds me of the halcyon days when Mugler made bold, creative, even, yes, risky fragrance. R.I.P, Maison Mugler.

it can be little bit confusing for members when they see the suggestion of Pure Shot or Pure Energy (Same frags under different names) thinking that Ice Men is same juice with Pure Shot/Energy. actually the openings are much different on both. Pure energy/shot starts off with minty grapefruit which is very bright while Ice Men opening is cooling patch and kind of like a metallic opening. slowly it starts showing the coffee and patch mix which is similar to the dry down of Pure energy, there is similarity but not the same juice. both are awesome....packaging looks kick ass with Ice Men with sub zero blue/mint colored juice....sprayer thankfully is beast and comes with cap....love everything about this fragrance. not super pricey also. if you are a Mugler Fan this will be something you will treasure. not blind buy worthy, great longevity, can be used for summer spring and fall, if you loved pure energy/shot, a must try 8/10

Love it! This is definitely a cat-piss, patchouli bomb at the top! The pee smell is faint, though, and you have to be right up on, and nose-diggin' into, the skin to sense it. The patchouli, however ... WHOA, NELLY! It is powerful, ever-so-slightly sweet, refreshing, and very cooling. I think this would work well in the spring, summer, and Christmas Day at a quaint, cozy cabin in the mountains. It should be noted that this fragrance comes in phases. AFter that initial blast of minty patchouli settles down, it is then accompanied with a subtle tobacco-like musk, unlike anything I have ever put my nose on. Very warm in contrast to the initial cooling effect. There is a constant battle between the two, and it is exquisite! Too bad Mugler discontinued it. :-( Hurry and get a bottle before the eBayers crank the price up to $1,000/oz.! AGAIN ... LOVE THIS STUFF!

I am a huge fan of the A*men series and have recently begun to seek out more colognes with the patchouli note so this seemed a logical next step for me. I can say that I like it but its very light and doesn't really wow me like some of the others in the Amen series. I get the patchouli note most strongly but its light, bright and very "average". NOT long lasting, NOT very much projection- just.... there. It has been given a thumbs down by the woman in my life and she thinks its a bit old-lady smelling. Maybe its worth saying that I got this on Ebay and it was a spray that was NOT boxed. Would anyone suggest that this might affect the quality of what I got? Is it perhaps a tester and thus not as potent? I'd be willing to try and buy a NIB version but does the fact that it is discontinued and maybe a tester perhaps play a role in the quality of the sccent?

Unique juice IMO yet it links perfectly with the rest of the A*Men flankers with that patchouli. It is really not meant to be compared to the others in the line,it's different and it was intended to be. I get that icy feeling and that freshness from the minty note,thank God there's no aquatic note,cause it's not an aquatic,it brings variety to my very small summer rotation. To be honest,though, I enjoy it more in colder days than in hot ones. The same thing happened with ultra zest,oddly enough. Versatile, I guess. This is a beautiful composition with staying power and strong,delightful radiation,a pleasure ! DO NOT OVER SPRAY, do yourself that tiny favour.

Fantastic scent and really different I haven't smelled any scents like this one. I got my sealed bottle in 2011 off eBay for $25.00 usd. Back then Chanel testers went for $35.00 I got Edition Blanch, Allure Homme Sport and Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme when they were all edt formations. I still have all three and they smell better than the edp version. Roja should make a inspiration of Thierry Mugler's Ice Man I think it would be great especially with higher quality ingredients. If you find Ice Man you should get it and if you don't like it resale it because it's a rare find.

By far this is the best composition by Thierry Mugler. It reminds me with Berishnikov sports and a little with Italian Cypress by Tom Ford. It is a fabulous blend of musk, freshness, spice, sweetness and woody all striving to dominate but only succeeding in giving a unique blend that vitalizes, freshens and just plain pleasant. You can detect the Musk as it outstands the most but in a very pleasant way.. I just don't understand why they stopped it..

I am not an aquatic fan at all but Ice men is amazing. It reminds me a bit of 360 by perry ellis but ice men is way better. 360 always had this synthetic note in it that I just could not stand. Ice men is well blended and my most favorite part of the scent is the patchouli. This scent screams manliness and sexiness. i am so glad mugler found out how to make a scent masculine and aromatic. The projection and longevity of this superb!!!!!!

Wow...found this little gem all dusty in the back of a shelf in a small pharmacy. Much nicer than I thought it would be. Fresh patchouli with just a hint of mint and coffee. It's got it's own summer/spring vibe going on with a small dose of that familiar Mugler A-men DNA. Fresh from the top but it's in the drydown where this badboy really shines. If you stumble upon it don't hesitate to pull the trigger.

Recently bought this. Probably the best one in my small collection. This is the most unconventional summer fragrance out there. Cold coffee and patchouli work together beautifully. I love this one. :) Longevity: 7-9 hours Projection: Good Bought this (3.4 oz) for some Rs. 2600 (around $45) in India from Shoppers Stop. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The scent of summer between 2004-2006 for me. Went through a couple of bottles of this. Agree with the roots, leaves and patchouli blast reviews. A forest on a wet afternoon. Settles down to a classy scent. Bordering on medicinal at times. Not great longevity, but for the price, it was never an issue. Another classic TM.

This is a hidden gem, typical Mugler longevity & silage as expected, the scent is suitable for day or night in my opinion, its really a great versatile scent with plenty of kick!! its a patchouli bomb on dry down, the opening is almost menthol to me, ice is a very fitting name for it!!

This was my signature scent during my recent Hawaiian vacation. Icy cool and fresh without being generically fruity - just enough earthiness to keep things interesting. Definitely not your traditional aquatic! Perfect for a day (or night) at the beach! Highly recommended

I am IN LOVE with this one! It fit perfectly during winter and summer and it's woody somewhat spicy notes with a strong sense of fresh just makes it the kind of fragrance I could wear all day until dusk. It is so awesome and I cannot wait to purchase another one of it.
