Mirror Mirror Collection - Miroir des Secrets

Sparkling bright aldehyde and a sweet earthy green patchouli from the beginning to the end. The musk is clean, and plays so well with the aldehyde and patch notes. I sense a very gentle cool and sweet floral note now and again - I very much want to say it is lilac. The floral is not always present , it is very subtle and pleasant when it shows itself. This is one of my most favorite of fragrances. Although the notes are not complex, it seems so womanly, with the vibrant aldehyde and the herbal patchouli . Not at all a 'head shop' or incensy patchouli. The Main Accords has listed 'warm spicy '. I never think 'spice' when I wear this, 'herbal' would be a much better description. It feels rich, but not pretentious. I have worn this through all seasons. I have had many compliments, and though - like I said, the notes are not complex - I feel this fragrance is unique when I wear this, and I wear it for myself . I also fear the aldehydes when reaching for the bottle, and the initial spritz, but my fears are quickly calmed , when the scent has been on my skin for mere seconds. Ahhh there it is :) A sample prompted me to purchase . I had sampled a few from the Thierry Mugler Miroir Collection, and this one had me falling ( and pulling out my credit card ) at first whiff ;) .

Beautiful fragrance....like Angel stripped down bare to the patchouli with most of the sweetness, chocolate, "loudness" and the overindulgent factor removed and citrus and aldehydes added. And a little floral. It reminds me slightly of Aqua Chic but without the pepper (and quite a few other things). It is the patchouli and musk part that is similar to Angel and some of the flankers. But without all the other stuff. Don't get me wrong, this is VERY different from Angel but the DNA is definitely there. The aldehydes used are not like the typical synthetic aldehydes we are used to smelling...way smoother and easier in the nostrils. I feel it is better for spring and summer but it could be worn year around. What I consider a fresh type of scent. Definitely unisex. Angel lovers could wear this to the office or in hot weather when Angel can be a bit much. But people who hate Angel may like this because they are so different. I love it, sniffed myself all day.

Ok, wow.... um, its so complex that there has to be more to this than i read up there. I get the patcholi but not typical. Very earthy and green, like walking through a orange grove that had a rainshower. Then, it sweetens up to a light cream with strong citrus. Its fantastic... The initial spray is nothing like the final whiff.. WOW WOW

I dont know what's in this bottle? But it stopped me in my tracks! I really like it, it is the best so far out of the mirror collection! I have not tried the miroir de voluptous yet! Thierry has a way with perfumes!He's an extremest!Keep it up!We love you!

I can sum up everything I have to say about this fragrance in one simple word, GORGEOUS. Well worth having for most all aldehyde freakazoids like myself.

I suppose this is Mugler's take on a Narciso Rodriguez-esq clean musk. I also get occasional callback to the meek aquatic Angel perfumes, like Angel Sunessence, which never impressed be as using Angel's strengths in an aquatic context. In short, they are very watered down impressions of Angel. In Secrets, they're echoed as a splash of clean patchouli with crisp green edges. Mild and spa-like. The white musk here, in contrast to the pale patchouli, is very pleasant. It is both cool and silvery and warm, with touches of honey. It is very much a clean musk. Secrets is overall very pleasant, but not particularly striking, which is what I expect from Mugler. Given the asking price of the Miroirs, I suggest just picking up Innocent, which is Angel purified of any dirty tones, or Angel Pivoine, which retains some of the musky patchouli, but glazes it with clean honey and beautifully fresh peony.

The aldehyde is dominant from the beginning until the end. In the first few hours, I can also smell some sort of greeness like while sniffing a fresh orange with leaves. Then the aldehyde mellows down and some delicate sweetness emerges out. I'm not sure if it's an illusion or the sweetness is real, but it's pleasant while contrasting with the sharp aldehyde. A clean soapy scent in the spirit of simplicity. Among the 4 Miroirs for women released in 2008, this might be the closest to a unisex fragrance. The sillage is quite good for the first 9 hours. Even with one spritz, I can always feel the fragrance cloud embracing me. After that, it continues to stay close to skin for a period of time. Though I describe it clean, I tend to avoid wearing it on a really hot day as it might get too sharp for my taste.

I can smell something tart and fresh here, similar to Un Jardin Sur Le Toit but Miroir des Secrets is weaker. It doesn't give much of a picture actually, it is just "something".

No relation to the listed notes. Opens fruity-citrus, and sharp. Sure, there are clean musks in there, but it's much more sour and botanical than plain musks. Then the sweetened patchouli, with a nice dank earthy side to it, like patchouli should have. And then underneath all this, a growling narcissus-type creature emerges, which I can smell only when I exhale directly on my skin and then inhale immediately; it's the warmed, moistened version. Finally, strangely, back to the grapefruit cocktail from the start. Not an aldehyde in sight, at least not in the abstract-fuzzy olfactory-category sense of the word. Secrets has some nice things going on, but they're all out of proportion and uncoordinated. Oh well.

In this one, the perfumer managed to perfectly capture the aura of Bloomingdale's the weekend before Christmas. Hideous.

Here again, disappointment, I don't find this one Mugleresque at all. Not unpleasant, but very simple, generic, has little to no personality. Yet another clean/fresh smell, hand soap/shower gel type, designed to please everyone and his mother. I really wonder why this was sold as high-class niche perfumery, while the TM house has created so many gems. The patchouli is discrete. It's mostly aldehydes with a hint of clean white musk. I totally agree with the reviewer belows who wrote that it reminds of Aqua Chic - which I didn't like, for the same reason. A real Mugler has to be fascinating, loud, demanding, hypnotic, addictive, unique, in one word: Mugleresque. We're not exactly here with this Miroir line.

All scents from this Mirror Mirror Collection are fabulous but this one is the best! The gorgeous mirrored vanity box that opens to become a display case for the bottle. Really one of the most gorgeous bottles and displays I've seen. Miroir des Secrets - The aura of an actress on the brink of stardom, unaffected and graceful, yet perfectly sophisticated. Like a cloud's silver lining, this natural aldehyde(used for the first time in fragrance) adds dazzling, vibrant tones to this bitter-sweet blend of patchouli and musk. A bitter-sweet aldehyde fragrance to acknowledge your spontaneity.

This one can be a unisex scent. It can be worn in the spring and the summer or anytime!Not complex or exotic or extraordinary just a simple clean scent that manages to versatile. It smell really good by the way! Smells of woods, with some green notes. Not as sweet in the dry down with patchouli being dominant. I can also detect some fruity notes something like melon but it's not listed in the notes. This bears that signature Thierry Mugler note if you know what I mean. Nothing groundbreaking but it's original enough. The staying power its good on my skin.

Does anyone else get a very musky HONEY opening from this..? I get lots of honey,like a distant (very distant but the relation's there) cousin of Kiehl's musk, coupled with cold dusty aldehydic tones and something almost a touch tropically fruity. An odd mix, my nose doesn't know what to make of it yet!

If Dis-moi Mirroir has the silhouette of Alien, then this one has the faint shadow of Angel over it.
