Supra Floral

I love a good purple flower fragrance as I wear Chloe Love and Ombre Hyacinth. I am a Mugler fan so I assumed this would be an instant love, so I blind bought it. When I opened it and gave it a spray, I immediately thought I bought a bad bottle. I found it harsh, bitter, and it was nothing like how I imagined it would be. Because I purchased it from an overseas seller there was no way I could return it. Disappointed, I kept it in my closet for months. One day one a whim, I took it out and gave it a full four sprays. Finally I got this. What starts out a bit harsh, softens down to a really beautiful fragrance. The hyacinth is not floral and sweet but fresh and green. The incense is not smokey but cool and gives this a bitter but polished edge that is elegant and refined. I don't detect any amber but maybe it is well blended enough to gives this the beautiful effect this has. Overall, this is a clean, dry and very polished fragrance that is like nothing else I have tried. Perfectly unisex, but maybe runs slightly masculine as there is nothing flowery or sweet about this. Longevity is off the charts. Four sprays are more than enough as will last all day into the night. What stared off as a disappointment turned out to be one of my favorites. Discontinued, but well worth tracking down. One truly great fragrance.

My GF is going to Mexico for Xmas and I wanted to give her somethong that's not too cloying but it makes enough of statement. When she passes someone the purfume gives that floral/warm tone from amber. I must admit I don't smell any insense..maybe my nose meter is beginning to fail me..doubt it. As a guy, I also pickup some sorta powdery vib, it adds to the floral notes. I wanted her to try out before buying it, so I was able to retrieve a sample. Instead of giving her the sample and the vile breaks or spills..I tried something different. I bought a small tub of Vaseline and heated it until it was liquid. I poured the purfume and mixed it up. She can carry it around in her purse, dab some on around her neck, chest and arms. The gel will help to keep it on her skin longer. A 5ml will equal to a 30ml bottle by the time she finishes it. As a spray, you always loose some in the air. As a gel, as she spreading it on her skin, very little to none will be lost. Much more effective as a gel, you have less a chance of it spilling in her purse. If she enjoys the purfume, I'll take the time to make batches using petroleum gel. Purfume is perfect for summer day or night ware. 8/10

Hyacinth was one of Elizabeth Taylors favorite flower. Its a luxe flower. Hyacinth is the star in this Supra Bouquet. Hyacinth is done with a nod to other classic fragrances that featured the flower, greeness of the stem, like YSL Y. We dont get a lot of hyacinth in perfumes of today,so this is a luxurious, pared down, almost soliflore on hyacinth with the addition of incense and amber, which hyacinth is not normally combined with is what makes this modern and unique. Hyacinth starts out blooming a mild floral scent then it grows into its power as it opens. They captured that trait in Supra Bouquet. Its a refined Alien idea. This could be Aliens mother. It doesnt screech out at you in the opening like the jasmine does in Alien. Supreme is refined, smooth, grand dame in a modern way. Lovely idea on this. :) Full bottle worthy.

Amber, incense, and sweet floral. I sense original angel with amber, and incense. It has dark sweetness with caramel coffee. The floral is weird but not dominant as it is voted here, so it's not hyacinth. It's nice but it's almost cloyingly sweet. Edit (6th Sept 2022) OH MY..... The dry down is mesmerizing! i get that tobacco incense with a touch of hazy sweetness added to it. the tobacco dust is mixed with the harsh incense creating a heavy smoke that conquers the scene! it is like that smoke that appears in a dark ally and right after few seconds the villain comes out of the smoke, now "Supra Flora" is the smoke in that scene. Beautiful... It is heavy indeed, but that what makes it a bit tiring to own a full bottle of it as a single pray i think would be extremely enough to enjoy that scene. Beautiful.

I do enjoy this one almost as much as "Cuir Impertinent". This creation reminds me very much of "Cristalle" by CHANEL, albeit this one is harsher, greener and more screechy than the former that is a definite classic and much more creamy, powdery in the drydown. If you like the slightly medicinal (bitter) green note of broken tulip stems, you will like this! Not ground-breakingly new but rather good! 7/10. A green floral, crisp bomb that will surely wake you up in the morning!!

I was pleasantly surprised by how well the hyacinth and amber notes worked together; they create something very soothing yet complex. I think there may be some subtle hints of citrus notes present as well because I keep smelling them occasionally. Wearing this during a cold winter day was like being wrapped in a warm blanket fresh out of the wash 😌

So...I get a slightly peculiar effect from this perfume, but I think it's pretty good on the whole. Hyacinths are something I have grown up with and my mum always has them in the porch as you enter her house. Sometimes (in fact most of the time) the smell is overwhelming, very 'wet floral' I like to call it and pretty unique, instantly recognisable in perfumes I find. My dear friend at the Mugler counter challenged me to guess what the floral component of this perfume was, possibly thinking it was hard to guess and was pretty astonished when I got it right. It's clearly there, especially in the opening but frankly it's not the most hyacinth heavy fragrance I've ever smelled by a long chalk and I'm glad to be honest. The balance of this fragrance is great because the base comes through right from the start, making supra floral, less floral in eventuality. Now although oud is a broad church and there seems to be an obsession with calling out fragrances for not having oud in them when stated in the notes etc...when in actualy fact it manifests quite differently depending on the many factors. I thought this has the dry smokey vetiver, earthy patchouli and licorice quality sometimes I associate with oud. I had no idea what the notes were before trying or wearing but noted that it smells quite a bit like the blackcurrant/licorice combo I get from Versace Man, Versace Oud Noir and CdG Wonderoud. Without an overt resinous or 'barnyard' oud I have to make assumptions from the associated perfumes that there is indeed oud in this. I get the peppery spice and clearly the colour purple is evoked by this fragrance which perfectly matches the long lasting and quite pleasurable floral offering of hyacinth, which mellows throughout. It's a good perfume, well thought out, a little hair raising at first thinking I smelled what I associate with being feminine, but that soon subsides and supra floral become more woody.

I can see the passing resemblance of Supra Floral to Chanel No 19 EDT, but I vastly prefer Supra Floral. Whereas I enjoyed the opening of Chanel No 19, and grew to loathe it in the drydown, it’s more of the opposite with Supra Floral. The opening is a VERY strong green incense–while incense is indeed one of my favorite notes, it’s almost overwhelming here. As it begins to dry down, the incense behaves far better, and some sweetness from the amber starts to kick in to tame things down several notches. The hyacinth here is my favorite from any that I’ve tried, which is admittedly less than a dozen. While relatively simple in its composition, the overall fragrance smells much deeper and well blended than just three notes. The best season for Supra Floral is definitely the spring, but I think it could hold its own in warmer Autumn/Fall as well. I had my official sample from another Mugler order for over a year. Once I finally tried it, I went from an official sample vial to a full 80 mL bottle to a second hand 500 mL refiller in the span of 24 hours. That is to say, I might have gone overboard and I have more than a lifetime supply of this scent. Because of that, I am decanting into 30 mL bottles at near cost for those in the CONUS–feel free to PM.

I was super excited to see the hyacinth note here. I love in the spring, when I walk into my grocery store right after they get the first hyacinths of the year. They're such a potent, powerful flower, I can always smell them as soon as I walk in. This is definitely NOT what an actual hyacinth smells like, but it does somewhat capture that heady floral, potency of the flower. Like a synthesized hyacinth. It's similar enough that I think the listed hyacinth note is justified. And the incense is tough to pick out, it sort of combines with the hyacinth and gives it a smoky tinge. I can definitely see where others have compared it to Alien. Unfortunately, on me, the hyacinth doesn't last very long. Barely an hour. Then it fades and leaves the amber behind, which is pleasant, but for the price, I was hoping the hyacinth would've stuck around a little longer. There's not much projection to speak of, either. Like Cuir Impertinent, it's a lovely scent, but for as prohibitively expensive as it is, it's just not worth it.

I was surprised when I found out about the notes. To me Supra Floral opens with a difficult combination of scents, green and powdery. It slowly grows bringing waves of raw green sap with slightly sweet musk and a floral note that I can't distinguish. In general I see this as a more feminine fragrance, although that notion is only based on what I consider "feminine", same as the nonsense notion that blue is for boys and pink is for girls. For sure this is an interesting perfume. I didn't detect the incense, but the amber was more obvious towards the drydown.

It's an amazing interpretation of hyacinth; it's sharp and green-floral, yet slightly warm and sweet underneath. I guess the oud was used in a similar fashion as Tom Ford's Plum Japonai with tart bitterness (as opposed to the resinous animalic woody complexion that's instantly recognizable). Unfortunately the semisweet floral tone slowly fades away, making it less desirable as time passes. *The website changed it to hyacinth, amber, and incense by the way :o Also, I think the name would've been a lot catchier if it was "Supra Flora“

Very sophisticated. A little floral, a little incense. I don’t get the amber as an independent note but I think that’s what’s giving the underlying sweetness. I do not find it sweet but definitely rich. A little sourness is present but not unpleasant. I don’t find it projects or lasts too long. *my sample is directly from Mugler with an order I placed. I have cool, oily skin. Weather is 82 F, moderate humidity.

A Beautiful composition. It's mostly springtime in a bottle but finishes with a warm ambery sweet promise of the summer. I would buy this without a second thought. It smells chic and expensive, no cheap tricks or unnecessary trinkets. But I can't ignore the feeling it's monsieur Polge's recommendation letter to Chanel. Or his love letter to N:19. He got the job. And I already have N:19. ****(*)

I like it, and it reminds me of an Avon perfume from the 80s. I rediscovered this sitting on a shelf and thought today's the day to try it and it's nice. It's energizing to me.

It opens with a blast of clean, green soap then becomes sweeter as it dries down. While brisk at the beginning it warms at bit as it goes. I wouldn't call it loud but it's not meek either. I am still looking for the smoke to appear... Well blended but not my style. Perfectly unisex depending on what you like.

Opens with fresh galbanum immediately followed by something sweet and a bit tangy like a broken flower stem, that turns into something a bit more bitter. The floral notes listed as hyacinth are a mix of rose, jasmine, orange flower, peony, lilac, cassis and a sweet lily-of-the-valley accord. I smell hints of something sharp underneath as well. The bouquet blooms towards a more dark approach, the flowers get heavier and the base gets darker. Amber and coumarin notes appear and grow a bit in strength. Sillage starts soft and goes moderate to heavy as the scent progresses, longevity is moderate. In combination with the green galbanum, this floral mix smells like spring and actually does remind me of the smell of hyacinths, but never does get close to the actual flower on my skin. I do like this scent, spring flowers in a bottle. I don't get any incense at all and the amber does not appear until after the opening. I probably won't be wearing this due to a sharp note underneath (probably the incense that doesn't work on my skin). If you like big florals, give this one a try. Don't overspray, this one's a grower!

I just received my samples from Quebec! Supra Floral is VERY green and grassy, right away it makes me think of Sisley Campagne, it is a chypre floral, more chypre than floral, the hyacinth comes loud and clear..I wonder if the aoud gives it that earthy grassy vibe..I expected more floral, in a prettier way..I think maybe a guy could pull it off,which is for me a big no no...not my cup of tea. It is quite feminine after a while, although it keeps a bitter edge, and will have its appeal.. In the end after retrying my samples, I will add this is definitely feminine..

It is very rare for me to actually ‘dislike’ a scent, especially from my favourite house. In the UK, we are bombarded with hyacinth from the first buds of spring thru Mother’s Day and Easter. While I love heady white florals, I am absolutely overwhelmed by these small but incredibly potent blooms. The incense and amber are barely there, at least to me. I think the incense may be hyacinth incense! However, if hyacinth is your petal of choice, you won’t be disappointed!

I smell a strong and slightly perfumey hyacinth, and unlistedlily of the valley with a wonderful galbanum-y backdrop. It overall reminds me of lilac crossed with lotus; somewhat aquatic and sweet, but also crisp and white. The LOTV burns off in the drydown, and the hyacinth becomes more realistic and dewy instead of perfume-y. Galbanum is not listed, but there is a very distinct sticky green resin in Supra Floral. It accents the floral part beautifully. Perhaps the amber is a "green" amber accord. I smell no oud at all, but do catch a hint of dustiness at the end of a sniff, similar to an undertone I sometimes catch in Arabian perfumes. Supra Floral is not Mugler's best floral (Alien EDP of course), or even best green floral (Aura EDT) but it is extremely pleasant. It's an elegant, wearable floral that may as well be Spring, simplified and bottled. It does lack Mugler's typical weirdness, but it seems that most of Les Exceptions line does too. They're all quite nice, but not exceptional like Angel or Aura, which are both somewhat unusual. I second the opinion that is has a vintage texture to it. Maybe a modernized version of vintage, as it is not "stuffy". It reminds me a bit of Swiss Arabian Shadha, which is also predominantly hyacinth/galbanum/oud, but Shadha is more powdery and astringent, while Supra Floral is predictably flower-dominated and sweeter.

Umm, wot's with all this talk/mentioning of 'Oud' and this frag ?? Surely there must be some mistake or confusion, no !? ... As far as I've been able to assess - both from the various mentioned notes-lists associated with Supra Floral (+ from my own nose), there is NO 'Oud' anywhere in this composition - (tho' IMO it could've probably done with a nice woody facet). - As far as I'm aware, the main notes are a Hyacinth ('Head Space' accord) floating on an Amber + INCENSE base ... i.e. Frankincense rather than 'Oud' !! Mind you, to my nose, the 'Amber' accord is hardly that ambery but rather far more plain 'creamy Vanillic' in nature. As for the aforementioned 'Incense' it's so deeply buried as to be mostly nondescript (at least to my nose/or it certainly never bloomed on my skin!) ... But, worse of all, that rather unfortunate lingering 'dryer-sheet' white musk just outright kills any last hope of it for me. :( All in all, I found the whole thing much more 'Supra Stem-sap' than 'Supra Floral' - in fact, 'Infra-Floral' would've been more fitting - i.e. it's IMO not particularly that 'floral' at all. Instead, it's far too icy green stemmy/sappy + supra-BITTER for that. So, my search for an ideal Hyacinth frag continues.....

Supra Floral is all about the class, sophistication, and heritage of the vintage classic woman. It opens with a very high quality, very well mannered hyacinth. A wild, mildly sour-tangy floral. It rests atop a luxurious bed of amber and incense, that add a charming feminine warmth, and bold fullness to the body of the aroma. They are very sassy notes, and traditionally you would expect a fragrance like this to be very heady, but Mugler's signature technician work is at hand. It's incredibly smooth, and has that evocative feel of femininity that many Mugler fragrances have. The essence is sort of vintage, it's one you can easily dig. The potential here seems very versatile as well. It could be worn to a formal event naturally. But any time you want to feel like a ritzy woman, you could just spray this on, and wear it out. It would radiate of uniqueness and class, qualities that at best remind a woman who she is, and encourage her to be on her best behavior. Or in the least, keep her nose so high in the air and preoccupied, that she doesn't bother anyone.

A lovely member has given me the opportunity to try this expensive elixir and I'm over the moon with gratitude. Hyacinth, amber and oud are the official notes but my nose, which enjoys all three, detected only a cloud of choking white florals. What the...? I adore hyacinth & have many growing in my spring garden, and I sure as heck know what amber and oud smell like, but this... oh, my. I get the bitter underlying current of the ever-present Mugler patch and then begin to choke in the same way as when I expose my nose to too much gardenia &/or tuberose. My sample is unquestionably authentic, so what's going on here??? NOT a safe blind buy (even if you're rolling in money) and the ONLY Mugler I've ever had to scrub off. After just 5 minutes I truly had trouble breathing. How Mugler managed to alter hyacinth into this fragrance is beyond my comprehension.

This is everything I wanted Alien Essence Absolue to be. The floral is pleasantly pungent, with a sourness that could categorize this as a "dirty floral". It's warm, heady, a little funky, and pretty glorious. I can't really recall the natural fragrance of Hyacinth, so I can't comment on if I believe this to be an accurate rendition, but I can maybe tell you what it DOESN'T smell like - I get zero jasmine, gardenia, tuberose, or rose. No creaminess. I'm not getting patchouli either. As far as I can tell, this is a unique fragrance. Drydown - much tamer in the drydown, a bit more sweet and less sour, and the amber comes out a bit sweeter. Lovely to catch a whiff of. I'm getting a similar hyacinth to Gres Cabotine in the drydown, but much smoother in Supra Floral, and less complex. I really enjoy this frag, but try before you buy!

Absolutely agree that this has an immense resemblance to Chanel No 19. It feels elegant yet simple. Upon spraying I was immediately greeted by an embrace of Chanel No 19, followed by underlying woody florals, waxiness and then soft waves of delicious greens ( the cycle repeats) , and because of that I'm getting an even more 'feminized' or 'modernized'? Chanel No 19. (Chanel no 19 to me is utterly unisex to me, even leaning masculine but -- but again gender in perfumes is a mindless construct I wish to shed permanently from my psyche. lol) For those that own Chanel no 19, this might feel a redundant addition to your collection. But for those searching for a beautiful green floral, this might be up your alley

I've had this sample for quite a while now, but hadn't dared to try it on my skin after being scared off hyacinths due to Penhaligon's Bluebell. I took the plunge today, and I'm rather glad I did - it opens with a dewy, green, but delicate hyacinth note with some prominent terpeneol-like facets. This transitions into a powdery violet/iris-esque accord with prominent projection; I kept getting wafts of it over a few hours from just one spray! After around 2 or 3 hours, a warm vanillic sweetness emerges from behind all the powder to provide a cozy embrace. Smells opulent and classy; definitely a dressed-up scent which I think would work well in cool weather.

I hate hyacinth. Haven’t wanted an Incense in a few years. Still haven’t grown to love Ambers. So let’s just say that I was SHOCKED to read the note list after testing this. It is so freaking beautiful. Soft without being saccharine, sexy without a trace of vulgarity. I’ve been, admittedly, sleeping on Mugler. I fell in love with Angel twenty years ago - wait, is it really that long ago? - and then just didn’t bother to try anything else. Now I’m wondering what else I’ve been missing, and could explain why I constantly see users with 18 different Alien flankers. Looks like I’ll be on the lookout soon.

So, today i tried out a sample of this perfume, and what a blast from the past it was, I instantly thought of my mom when i smelled it, this perfume is the EXACT smell of jacomo silences that my late mother used to wear back in the days,it was one of her favorite scents alongside dior poison. This is a clean unique smell, and it smells nothing like chanel no 19, i have a sample of it too, chanel is more harsh and old-fashioned, this one is not harsh and more overall rounded and green, but not in an outdated or sharp way. This one is definitely on my list If perfumes that i want to buy.

On me, this is very green, bitter, and yet powdery, all at the same time. I get zero incense. I can feel the floral, but it seems to be an undercurrent to the bitter green and powder. It’s not “supra” powdery, only slightly. It’s nice. Different, but nice. Suitably unisex. Probably not FBW for me, but I can admire my sample while it lasts.

Powdery and sweet amber with a touch of non-descript candied floral that disappeared within minutes. Simple, flat & very mainstream "low-budget" smelling. No similarity what so ever with No 19 or Cristalle or even Bas de Soie.

This gets no from me. It is like a generic "floral" on steroids. It doesn't appear cheaply made or super artificial, but at the same time I cannot discern any real flower that I can identify. It lasts for a long time.

Starts off with a lovely green hyacinth, then unfortunately settles to a strong creamy-spicy amber that reminds me of stepping into a candle shop.
