Wonder Bouquet

What a surprise! I had been ignoring most of Les Exceptions after trying several disappointing ones. They all seem to try to be original and bold but smell pretty meek and pedestrian. This one caught my attention because I used to own and love Jeaux de Peau, with which Wonder Bouquet shares a wheat note. I assumed I wouldnt like this much because of the alleged "white floral" bouquet but I just had to sample another bread note. Lo and behold, this takes that toasty, flakey pastry note that smelled so nice in Jeaux de Peau but adds a clever counterbalance to the warm, cereal goodness in the form of a highly inedible, soapy accord of lily of the valley and bitter neroli. The shiso is faint but as a member of the mint family it nicely bridges the gap between the world of the edible and the cosmetic. Likewise for the honied beeswax. So instead of hanging out in the Boulangerie all day (getting bored, sleepy and hungry) like we were with Jeaux de Peau, now we step out on to a breezy Parisian sidewalk, next door to the florists and just downwind from a steaming dryer vent. The yeasty, toasted smells from the bakery now waft together with soapy, snowy laundry musks and delicate, high pitched florals. Sublime! This could be a casual or formal, equally comfortable. Honestly, all the niche fans should be raving about Wonder Bouquet and I hope it gains some traction and gets more widely discovered. And this high praise is from someone who has never owned a classic floral perfume OR a gourmand perfume.

Magnificent and mysterious floral. It harks back at some Alien invation (that we are familiar with by now), but it is distinctively less abstract and more botanical, yet still wonderfully weird, as it is so gourmandy and seemingly edible. You know when they come up with novelty ice creams or fancy flavours for jelly beans: this is one of them as you can imagine this as a sorbet in a high-end gelateria somewhere in Firenze or Rome. It is a truly joyful burst of glorious, sun-drenched neroli with this buttery brioche, edible flour-like quality. So does this make it a floury floral? It is also somewhat fruity and distinctively moist and wet, like a cake or a tiramisu, when these gaufrettes/ ladyfingers are here dipped in honey and neroli over a jasmine juice. The drydown is very musky and somewhat animalic, but most certainly utterly beguiling. I can honestly say, that this is the most wonderful new floral explosion I have smelled in a long time. I usually adore Gardenia interpretations of florals but this is another modern day masterpiece. If you love "Carnal Flower" by Frederic Malle, you will love this (and vice versa). Truly mezmerising! Verdict: 9.5/10!

A unique Mugler. First Impressions: The opening reminds me of a better balanced alienesque accord using orange blossom as its focus point with jasmine and tuberose supporting it. (Its floral component reminds me slightly in the vein "and the world is yours" by a lab on fire but lighter) Its a honeyed floral, and the bran/brioche accord surfaces once the florals start to bloom. It has a nutty touch that works well with the brioche note. Its a good all around scent..day or evening. I get about 4-6 hrs for longevity. Very wearable. The Exceptions line is more refined and subdued than the main line, and here is no exception to that idea.I tested it as soon as it arrived so Ill do another update once the fragrance has a chance to rest.

A funny thing happened to me about 5 minutes after I sprayed WB - I saw Gal Gadot delightfully declaring “it’s wonderful” with her Wonder Woman accent. And I totally concur. WB is wonderful. Yes, it’s a creamy white floral and quite Alien-esque, but the moment that delicious hazelnut and freshly baked pastry accord hit, it hit hard, it hit sweet. It made me smile and it made me believe in wonders again, such as actually having GG by my side whispering “it’s wonderful” to me. That’s the sort of stuff I love fragrances for. Not just smelling beautiful, but also triggering images, memories, hopes. A few hours later reality hit back with a mundane vanilla musky dry down, but all that came before is well worth repeating. ****(*)

This is awesome. In the opening I get a blast of an pastry odor wich smells truly like freshly baked crunchy cookies out of the oven. It's so unusual but fantastic. To my nose this smells somewhat like sweet wheat wich goes into a (floral)/Gourmand territory. This is a chameleon fragrance - it molds and changes a lot, so that the pastry accord disappears after a while. A bouquet of white florals mold throughout the entire heart - until the final dry down of this fragrance. After the unusual delish bran accords, you're left with a pleasant concoction consisting mainly of jasmine + orange blossom. A delish tuberose is detectable in the background and it's not heavy at all. .my favorite - Les Exceptions line - fragrance <3.

I didn’t think I was going too like this fragrance. I bought naughty fruity and wonder bouquet as blind buys off mugler so I got them for 10% off but I figured there’s no way I’m going to like them both! But I do! Wonder bouquet smells incredible! I smell the yeast that’s in it but it doesn’t smell like a bread factory or anything strong like that. I smell a hint if cookie along with beeswax, hazelnut,vanilla, rose, and some citrusy notes. It’s beautiful. The notes blend together really nicely. It smells expensive which is good because IT IS EXPENSIVE but I have to say I would definitely repurchase this and naughty fruity. I wish they would do a buy one get one on this line like they do with angel and alien.

Actually I was introduced to Mugler Wonder Bouquet in August 2018 when I traveled to BC Canada. The mall downtown is sort of a Galleria and it was exclusive that time. Only Canada and France had it and nowhere else was privy too it as of that time. However I was rummaging through old empty vials and saw this forgotten love. One sniff was all that it took. I saw a last bottle online and the rest is history. This particular one has its own definition and do not ever confuse it to be similar to the others because it is not!

White florals and honey dripping on warm bread. A hint of hazelnut to bring it all together. For me, this perfume feels warm and nostalgic, perfect for the first days of autumn. It's the feeling of sitting in a cafe by the window, watching the wind gently move through the turning leaves.

PLEASE note! These are REFILLABLE BOTTLES! If they leak, just TIGHTEN THE TOP. Products should never come leaking but I see people twisting the cap to pull it off, and presumably, unintentionally unscrewing the sprayer. Pull caps straight off to open, don't twist.

does smell a bit like alien but is a good gourmand fragrance overall. amazing for the warmer seasons such as early fall or spring! the initial spray is very intense but does dry down to a light smell with an average sillage.

The offbeat bakery dimension, over a classical floral structure, comes as a surprise. More than an unexpected guest, bran, with its warm bread accents, is very important to the construction of the fragrance.

Harrods carries the Mugler Les Exceptions collection. That's where I bought Wonder Bouquet. It does frequently sell out but they keep restocking the full line.

I love the hazelnut opening but then it turns into Alien which I don’t like.

I've had it for quite a while, trying it out in different weathers and occasions, and it still took me some time to understand what I think of it. First of all, I'm a huge Mugler fan. I love most of the pillar creations (Angel, Alien, Womanity and all of their flankers that I have tried), and even those that I don't like I respect for their innovative qualities (Aura and Innocent). My favorite Muglers are of course those hardest to get- Miroir des Majestes and Alien Essence Absolue. Naturally, seeing brioche, hazelnut and beeswax listed here among those elegant floral notes, I wanted to try it for the longest time. It took me 3 years to find a bottle, and during those 3 years I never stopped thinking about it and trying to imagine what it would smell like. I expected a "Mugler kind of crazy" from this one, despite most of the commenters saying that it was quite tame and civilized. Now, my opinion is this: I won't say that I am disappointed or anything like that, because I'm not. It is a beautiful creation, fit for the most elegant of occasions. It is beautiful in the cold, but also on a sunny day. It is of course floral, but it's not "just" a floral. The brioche and hazelnut add something unexpected to the mixture, but it never seems like too much or too limiting for formal wear. Now, if I just smelled it on someone else or in store not knowing what it was, I would have never guessed it's a Mugler. Is it a bad or a good thing? I don't know, I'm not sure I can judge on that. The atmosphere of this fragrance reminds me of J'Adore (Dior), but I wouldn't say it smells like a J'Adore flanker. I'm only thinking about the aura here, the general direction. It also reminds me of Miroir des Majestes, but a more refined version of it (even though MdM is already quite refined in itself). I'm imagining a very high-class woman, wearing a crisp, fitted all-white costume, participating in auctions and turning heads wherever she goes, not because she's beautiful but because she's intelligent, sophisticated and focused. She lives where the sun always shines but it's never too hot, the wind will always blow just at the right time to freshen her up. I always feel very classy when I wear it, it's definitely a special occasion perfume. But would I go out of my way to get it again once it runs out? Probably not. I'm really happy I have it, but I could have lived without it too, apparently.

Just received it from Mugler. From the first spray I immediately recalled Womanity, because it is sweet, fruity and gourmand in a way and very nutty. And also a little bit weird like everything from Mugler. But comparing it to Womanity, Wonder bouquet is much more floral. The first thing you smell would be jasmine, of course, which is sweet, loud and fruity here. Orange blossom gives it a strong animalic vibe, which grows even stronger with beewax. Beewax is a wonder material, it warms everything up with its golden amber animalic candle-like smell, in a cozy way. A nutty smell (like hazelnut) is born of a combination of aromatic shiso and beewax. General impression: for evening, strong floral.

super low key and light for a mugler. I’m not getting anything like brioche or bread (SL Jeux de Peau is my holy grail for wheaty aspects). this starts off strong but virtually disappears within 1-2 hours. it becomes an incredibly FAINT alien. for the exclusive price of this I would never buy a FB. in the late 90s/early 00s I loved Angel and Alien. now everything from mugler seems so garish and clown-like. wonder bouquet is so faint I’ll at least say it’s definitely not too much (this time too little). is it a pleasant little thing though. I like it. I came for the brioche, didn’t find any, but it’s actually a classy little floral.

I had high expectations about this fragrance. I received it yesterday to only find that it smells almost identical to Alien Mirage. Such a disappointment. I like Mirage, but it is a) cheaper; b) I already have it

This is a thick honey-floral that almost has an 80s vibe. This is not a gourmand, so don't be fooled by the honey, brioche, vanilla, and hazelnut notes. To the extent you can smell the brioche note, it's not sweet but rather a bready, yeast-like quality within the first 20 minutes of spraying. Frankly, I could do with out it. I think designers are using the notes of perfumes as marketing material, so what you see described is more of what they want you to think. After all, there is no "brioche" note in nature. The same goes for the overall image they want you to conjure up while reading the notes. In reality, this is a warm floral which is fine, but it's nothing special. It may be cloying to some, and be advised that this is definitely not a unisex fragrance. I rushed to buy it because I saw a YouTuber raving about it as a 10/10 and backup worthy. It's none of those things. That said, the packaging of this perfume is stunning! It comes in a heavy box like you just bought an expensive watch! FYI: If you do decide to get this perfume, be warned that some of the bottles leak. Another reviewer had this problem, and so did I. Fortunately, after taking photos, the retailer refunded my money since the perfume had clearly oxidized and the bottle was 30% empty.

Opening is flawless then after literally i kid you not 5 seconds it shoots straight for this obscure warm, waxy, doughy bread note all throughout. Why and who the hell thought to put brioche in a perfume!?!?!
