I was actually a bit surprised to see this fragrance listed on Fragrantica, since it’s a local perfume from my country, Indonesia and I’ve been wearing it for quite a while. It’s often marketed as a dupe of Angel’s Share by Kilian, but in my opinion, it really isn’t. It stands on its own DNA. The similarity isn’t that close not even 80–90%. Instead, it feels much closer to Lattafa Khamrah and Zimaya Sharaf Blend, with around 90–95% similarity between them. What sets Dark Secret apart from Khamrah and Sharaf Blend is only in the opening. It has a noticeable black cherry note that gives it a slightly syrupy feel. However, once it moves into the mid and drydown, it becomes very similar to both Khamrah and Sharaf Blend. The main difference is that Khamrah leans a bit more spicy to my nose, but overall, from mid to drydown, they share about 95% similarity and clearly belong to the same DNA. So no, this is not an exact dupe of Angel’s Share. And if you already own Zimaya Sharaf Blend or Lattafa Khamrah, this might feel a bit redundant to have. Performance is strong. It easily lasts at least 8 hours on clothes, with solid projection and sillage, very much in line with Khamrah and Sharaf Blend. One interesting detail, especially with my 2024 batch, is that it has a slightly oily texture. It feels quite dense, likely due to a higher oil concentration, as it’s labeled as an extrait de parfum. This probably contributes to its strong performance. I bought the 100ml bottle of Dark Secret in 2024 for around 290,000 IDR (18-19$), which is quite affordable in my country. I’m not sure how the pricing would translate to markets like the US or Europe, since it would likely increase due to shipping and distribution. But locally, it offers very good value for the performance and scent profile. 8/10
