Nightfall in the City of Kings

A pleasant and above all intriguing scent. If a color had a smell, it would be exactly the color of this bottle – purple. But I would call it oriental purple, because it definitely carries an aroma of the Orient. A very interesting harmony of notes – not a completely linear perfume, but definitely one with a recognizable character. The point is, the scent strongly reminds me of something I’ve smelled before, but I simply can’t pinpoint exactly what it is. Yes, those are the sweet problems we perfume enthusiasts have, heh. As for the scent itself, I’ve always found Buxton’s work interesting, but here he clearly decided to lean toward the East, because this perfume is indeed something – just not typical. Pleasant, intriguing, with depth and character. I think it would be ideal for colder months and for more formal occasions, because it’s definitely not something “basic” or stereotypical – rather, it's a story being told. It’s definitely something different and innovative, housed in a heavy, interesting bottle. It’s a fascinating concept from a brand I’ve been following, and I’m glad to own this bottle, because I see it as a turn – perhaps a new chapter the brand is heading toward. A very interesting perfume, unlike anything I’ve ever tried – intense, with character and depth. I truly don’t know what else to add, because I’ve never smelled anything quite like this. Very intriguing, and I definitely want to explore its full potential in the winter. Longevity and projection are unquestionable, and somehow I feel it suits a man’s neck more. Interesting, I must admit.

A hauntingly beautiful journey into the dark. I recently had the chance to dive into Nightfall in the City of Kings by Mystikum, and I’m honestly still processing the atmosphere. The way it blends dark, cinematic textures with a deep sense of mystery is incredible. It feels less like just listening to music and more like walking through a rain-soaked, ancient city at midnight. The production is top-notch every layer feels intentional, moody, and immersive. If you’re into music that tells a story without saying a word, or if you just need the perfect soundtrack for those late-night sessions, this is it. Mystikum has truly captured something special here. Highly recommend. This is pure luxury in a bottle. I was blown away by the longevity it settles into this incredible blend of warm amber and sandalwood that stays with you all day. It’s sophisticated, bold, and has this unique 'royal' vibe that truly lives up to its name. Mark Buxton really outdid himself with this one. Definitely my new signature scent for the winter season! There is something incredibly magnetic about this fragrance. The spicy kick of cardamom and cumin mixed with the sweetness of peach creates a scent that is both mysterious and inviting. It’s dark, sexy, and perfect for a night out in the city. Every time I wear it, someone asks what I'm wearing. Absolute 10/10

This is a lovely scent, the cumin is pretty prominent in my nose, but as a nice background for the notes. Reminds me of Eau d'Hermes but with less overpowering body odour. This is a strong 9/10 for me.

I was expecting so much from the accord and note-trees. Mixed with the majestic name and the mysterious bottle i thought this would probably be my favorite. I thought this would be very middle eastern and oriental smelling. Unfortunately, it's completely lacking depth. It smells like a dried-fruits cake with a slightly resinous and spicy undertone. Almost as if you took tobacco vanille and stripped it off of everything except the dried fruits and the base. This, although not unpleasant, is so uninspiring, that it turned out the second worst from the house to me personally. 4.5/10

Without looking at the notes, I sprayed this blind on my skin. What I got was an amazing blend of cassis and a subtle minty leaf beneath. Imagine my surprise when i read the notes, I didn't expect carrot seed + peach = cassis!! And the subtle cumin underneath adds an interesting depth to the scent, without being the dreaded BO that so many fear. This is a really beautiful scent that is suitable for daily wear, and one that I just cant stop smelling.
