Al Bashiq

I love a good leather fragrance and this fits the bill here! Just first impressions as it arrived within the week. I have 2 fragrances that smell similar to this: Lattafa Al Areeq Silver and Fragrance World Spectre. The former smells the closest to this, but after smelling Al Bashiq, it isn't nearly as well blended nor does it have the depth that AB has. Spectre has the depth, but in a more playful way with the sugar cube. Al Bashiq is a very in-depth smell of leather surrounded by oud, incense smoke, and a combo of dark fresh fruits and dried fruits. I didn't get the opportunity to sit with this throughout the lifespan but in the mid, I was getting whiffs of chocolate nuances, cinnamon, and cardamom. For a dark fragrance, this very smooth and intriguing because it does progress as it settles. I love the adventure this fragrance leads my nose into. I'll return in a few weeks with a review of the whole lifespan. For leather lovers, give this a sample at the least...especially if you're into darker notes. 1/2/2026: This is an amazing fragrance! I detect nothing fecal or barny about this scent. This is coming from someone with Dahn Al Ouds in the collection... Maybe challenging for those just used to fresh blue scents. Just an incensy, complex leather, with darkness and charm. Insane performance and longevity...easy wafts the first 2 to 3 hours, lasting until a shower.

It opens with a complex blend of rose, incense, and myrrh, which slowly gives way to a bold, rugged leather base. It’s raw, commanding, and powerful. 🔥 🌿

It’s an interesting business model to make the same scent at 3 completely different price points, essentially cloning your own niche brand. Are Al Bashiq, Meydan, and Abjar all exactly the same? No. Al Bashiq is actually what I had hoped Meydan would have been and I often got inconsistent performance with Meydan; which I haven’t noticed with Al Bashiq. Al Bashiq is a complex scent at this price point with really remarkable quality and is definitely not linear. It’s unmistakably leather but also spicy, fruity, floral, and with a touch of oud. It opens very strong leather but that starts to take a back seat in the dry down to a beautiful mix of resins, woods, amber accord, and florals. I paid just $40 for my bottle. It really makes you question if they can make this at this price point what is the justification for over $1k USD for Abjar (or any fragrance for that matter)?

So this is my third Nabeel so far(I have a fourth as well), and this one may be my favorite. I have Maghateer(love it), Irth(really love it), Asateer(haven't tried), and this one Al Bashiq. This one is so my jam, and as much as I love the other two this one is up my alley more. I'm a powerhouse guy especially 80's powerhouses. This reminds me of an 80's powerhouse for sure. It's leathery, woody, amber, and a little smoky. It's actually a whole lot of things. It's got a lot going on. I'm primarily picking up leather and woods though. I definitely get a hint of cypress and smoke(love those notes). This is a beast of a fragrance not for everyone. If you like Halston Z-14, Aramis, Bogart Witness, or Quorum this is right up your alley.

this one is Challenging, this is not for the average Nose and it is not for complement seekers, these are Niche quality and this one follows that without exception!! this one is for those who loves and a Connoisseur fragrances, a well seasoned Nose per say to appreciate.. I love it my self and will layer it of frag's I find lack depth and body! the main thing most will get is Castoreum and a Vic's Vapor rub (Eucalyptus) heavy how ever the trained Nose will find the Magic in this one with all the Resinous Facets and dense gummy base.! this is a true Fragheads fragrance a Master piece!!! not for the dabbler in the hobby!
