Al Ghadeer

(Review of the oil roll on) This is a really lovely, really Western scent. If someone told me this was some new Givenchy, I would believe them without hesitation. Primarily, I get rose and jasmine which combine to a romantic floral. When the scent opens, it smells just like Jour d'Hermes Absolu. Then the orange comes out stronger: it's not a bitter orange peel, but a fruity, juicy, sweet orange. As the scent develops, the citruses relax and the musk comes out as well as the patchouli. Sandalwood is there, but it serves more to add warmth and depth to the fragrance, rather than stand as a note on its own. I eventually get a pleasantly animalic/dirty note, which could be the combination of musk and jasmine, which adds some sexiness to an otherwise clean, romantic floral. It's at this point that this smells like a better version of NR Fleur Musc. This has good lasting power and after several hours, the vanilla comes out stronger with the patchouli, though the florals linger. This would be a wonderful date-night scent, even a wedding perfume. But it's also easy enough to wear that I would be happy using it as a daytime scent in warmer months. I cannot believe I got a bottle of this for a few $.

Glad to see this has been added! Thanks Fragrantica! I'm not experienced with Arabian oils but was lucky enough to find this one, so I'll try to give a review. I tested Al Ghadeer while shopping and, although it stays close to the skin I was treated to little wafts of the scent as I moved about. I liked it so much I had to go back and buy it. The fragrance goes on quite sweet and fruity. At first I thought that I was smelling strawberry, but that may have been the combination of orange with rose. Al Ghadeer has a sunny floral feel with jasmine and rose backed by citrus (more orange than lemon to me). I don't detect oud or any spices in this (but by nose isn't tuned in to oud). It's more of a clean and fresh type of fragrance. I think it could be worn for any occasion - dressed up or down. On my skin it has soft sillage and lasts a few hours but that could be my under-application as I've not worn oils before. I really like Al Ghadeer and I hope to find more Nabeel scents in the future.

Rose can be tricky, but this is rose done right. The citrus balances it beautifully and the oud adds some depth. It's sweet but not candy like. You could wear this any time of year day or night. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. A keeper. This smells a lot like Very Irresistible. Not a dupe, more like her little sister! Very nice!!!!

A blend of orange, and floral notes in the opening, then a blend of woody and earthy notes, spices and musk in the dry down. An easy grab and go, affordable, can’t go wrong perfume oil. It is great for layering with any fragrances.

Oh dear Lord above! This is a gorgeous fragrance but I cannot see it as masculine in any way. I'm not averse to florals at all but this is a cornucopia of sweet rose /jasmine overload. The bottle is lovely and has a glass rod for application which is also a nice touch. I applied today and immediately ran to the bathroom to layer with the dirtiest, skanky oud I have, a swipe of Patchouli and one of sandalwood to try to give it some much needed base notes just in case I need to go out today because being a big hairy biker wearing this is not really a very good combination! I will pass it on, maybe to my ex wife who wears Chanel Mademoiselle and Paul Smith as I'm sure she will enjoy it more than me. It has enormous Sillage and projection so bear that in mind too. Dry down has a really nice Witch Hazel note too. #2 OK, well none of girls liked it, 13yo wears Shalimar (good taste I know), 15yo wears Cloud and said" it smells of furniture polish " and my ex said that she couldn't stop smelling polish after our daughter's verdict. So... It came back to me and I started playing around with it. I put down a base of 12yo Oud Malay which is a really nice ambery, fruity oud and mixed a small bowl of Mysore sandalwood, Indonesian Patchouli and a dash of iso-E. I mixed the oils using a brush and used it to put the base down. I then put together some Ajmal amber oil and applied that. As it dried I put down a dusting of Kayali Vanilla Royale and allowed it all to settle. I then put small swipes of Tuberose oil wrists and center of clavicle I allowed that to settle. I finished off with Al Ghadeer on my forearms and either side of my neck. My primary use of fragrances is to layer and I use the same principles as I would as a chef. I wanted Al Ghadeer to be the jewel /centerpiece and everything else to wrap and support it. I'm pleased with the end result and will continue to enjoy it. On its own its a lovely fragrance that leans feminine but I've managed to get it to lean more masculine for my tastes. I had a shower at 9pm and its now 1am and my whole bedroom smells like a dewy garden with a wisp of wood smoke and the smell of vanilla sponge coming from a nearby window in early summer. A beautiful way to fall asleep!

In case anyone needed such a scent, Al Ghadeer is the perfect reach for going to the farmer's market on a hot summer's day! Stronger than expected - the first two hours were powerful indeed and it lingered for hours afterwards like a citrus hug. I know these notes are sophisticated looking, but on me the overall impression is a citrus-based scent with woody-musk and some jasmine. It's fresh but not too fresh, and grounded without being heavy. If there was a more floral aspect it would be thoroughly feminine. As it is, I feel Al Ghadeer actually leans in a unisex direction. If your skin amplifies the natural sweetness or the florals, you might well disagree. This would layer gorgeously with oud, but doesn't need it to be well balanced. A mature yet youthful scent, without the slightest teenage angst. ENJOY!

Interesting fragrance... One the one hand, it reminds me of a fruity '90s men's fougere (like Eternity)- especially upon the opening- but then it also has a floriental vibe- calling to mind sections of 'Poeme', as well as some of the spicy-chypre qualities of Mitsouko. Truly unisex in feel, although I would place it in the oriental fougere category. I would sketch out the note-pyramid something closer to this: Top: orange peel, tea leaves, aldehydes, calone Heart: lavender, rose, orange blossom, jasmine, strawberry, cinnamon, heliotrope Base: Musk, labdanum, coumarin, sandalwood, vetiver, oakmoss, patchouli, vanilla, oudh

Very sweet jasmine clusters with jammy aromatic roses and fruits. Extreme silage and insanely long-lasting. On my skin the base turns messy, I blame musk here, but on clothes it is a pure paradise, - summer day in Botanic garden with bees buzzing around.

A generic, western, designer feminine floral/citrus/musk found in any basic department store. It’s lighthearted and youthful but it’s way too feminine for me. I’ve tried to wash it off twice but I can still smell it, it smells like most pink toilet sprays. It’s a basic pink air freshener and it’s beginning to give me a headache so I’m going to try to scrub it off yet again. This is exactly the same as Al Rehab’s Sabaya.

This smells exactly like a pink air freshener. I'm not particularly taken by it. Leans more feminine but men can go for it too. It's not very special to me but I think I might be an anomaly, considering its rated so highly.

This is terrible with my skin chemistry. I’m a lady and this smells like an old man’s aftershave cologne. Too much synthetic citrus. A hard pass.

This is a playful fragrance. I am not familiar with all the flankers of Alien, but this definitely shares the vibe of Mugler DNA. Euphoria also comes to mind. Those give a ballpark idea of what to expect. The jasmine note is prominent, with a freshy dew-y rose supporting it. This works in concert with a hard-candy sweetness, which play against the vanilla musk base that comes across as gourmand to me. The sandalwood gets deeper as the oil warms on your skin, seems to be working to compliment patchouli and give the whole fragrance a woody/cocoa backbone, the Oriental aspect. It does tie together and develop slightly after application, gets a bit warmer and closer to the skin. This is unisex in warm weather, perhaps a bit floral for some men overall. Composition is superior to most designer labels. Above average performance

I'm shocked by the votes in sillage and longevity section... Al Ghadeer is that very rare perfume that lasts the whole day! The sillage is very heavy too. I know it for sure because my husband wears it occasionally. He comes back from work and I still smell its aroma on him. I do not detect any of the listed notes. It just smells like a lake or a spring to me that is located somewhere in a forest full of flowers and fragrant wild plants. It's a bit ozonic to me but still sweet. I have 2 bottles of Al Ghadeer and regret that I didn't buy more..I'd give it 10 ot of 10.

It took me some time to get Al Ghadeer. I thought it would have a strong citrus note. I was wrong. It is a well composed gem with citrus as a backing element to give a touch of zest to the rest of the notes. Key here is the beautiful mix of rose and jasmine that filtrates through the wood/spice/,citrus combo and delivers a gorgeous and memorable effect! However, it's the soft, gently animalic touch of oud that provides a strong platform for the rest of the notes to shine and keep its Oriental vibe. Another gem from Nabeel.
