أل هاجس - THE OBSESSION [short review] Note: "Al Hajes " or أل هاجس means literally "The Obsession" "Obsession" may be defined as the compulsive emotion of having the mind excessively preoccupied with a single topic. "Excessively" means "too much" and generally it has a negative connotation that may also apply to obsession. When you are obsessed with something, everything in it will be "right" even if you don't agree with it. If you think of love instead of obsession love, you will be able, to be honest with yourself and make a more precise judgment of the things or person you are obsessed with. Al Hajes proposes the smell of a remote Arabian souk selling incense, perfumes and cosmetics. If you have ever been to one, and if you remember it as I do, it is a scent you will never forget. The incense, the resins, the airy smokiness, the strong woodiness, the florals, just linger in the air wherever you go and gently penetrate your nostrils and soul. Whenever I use some drops of this precious oil, I also remember the mysterious dancing figures of "The Adventures of Prince Achmed" and his obsessive quest for Queen Pari Banu, the beautiful ruler of the land of Wak Wak. If you like a "never-ending story" in the shape of a strong oriental perfume with amber, resinous aromas, an incense vibe, and that is both lightly sweet and highly natural, give it at least a try. The bottle is very beautiful for some people, but unfortunately, it is quite tacky for my taste. But you may always store it in the 2nd row of your shelf. I received four new Nabeel perfumes in todays mail. I have loved them all. This perfume being the last I opened. It is also the closest to being a perfume a man could easily wear.It is not a loud perfume like some men's fragrances. However, it is also perfect for a woman that enjoys perfumes, that are woody, smokey and have Oud in them. It is not a loud Oud, but just enough to make this lovely perfume what it is, Lovely. It is a little spicy also. It is perfect for crisp Fall days. It is not a beast of a fragrance. It is not a perfume that will repel those around you, if you put a little too much on. I think this perfume is beautifully blended and I will wear it often this Fall and Winter. A couple of drops in bath water would be wonderful and then if applied on pulse points on the body, would probably help make the fragrance last longer. I have not tested its staying power, but it has been my experience that the majority of Nabeel's perfumes do not lack in that department. I will add, that the bottle is heavy and even more beautiful than pictured, with its gold and amber tones.

Unisex. This is not a typical feminine scent, in my opinion it is much more masculine, and this fragrance is good for a man. Smells clean. Great, well balanced composition with incense-myrrh-woody base, i love it. (Incense is not listed on Fragrantica.) It has very sophisticated aroma. Woody, musky, spicy long lasting fragrance. Fragrance lasts a whole 24 h. Great for incense lovers. You enter in a lash forest and you detect various scents from tree barks and trunks, resins and wild flowers. You collect them all and along with amber and citruses you wrap them in a leather pack. You leave them there for a while and when you open it again, it transfers you olfactory in a middle age scene of a knights' fight against Saracen pirates for the eyes of a beautiful and fairy lady, abducted by them. Can you resist in a vision like this? I don't think so. "Turban" just won't let you.

This is the heart and base notes of Amouage Interlude Man in oil form, 95% similar. Another twin of this is Ard Al Zaafaran Midnight Oud which is in spray form. Own both and you'll never have to fork out the ridiculous price of Amouage ever again.
