Nasaem

Revisiting this little rollerball the other day taught me a few valuable lessons: 1.always try fragrances in different seasons 2. take time to appreciate the development on skin 3. if you ignore a fragrance for a long time and stick it in a cool cupboard, it will mature like a fine bottle of wine. Technically my rollerball should long be out of date, I have had it for at least 5 yrs without using it very often. (For some reason I always gravitated towards its sister Touch Me.) The oil is so potent that the screwtop has half disintegrated...yet it hasn ́t gone off. Nasaem greets you with a buffet spread of floral, fruity and slightly aromatic notes at first. Unlike some other Arabian oils, it does go through some development as time goes by and your skin warms up. To my nose, pineapple, plum, rose, oud and nagarmotha are noticeable... but all the other notes are a magic carpet woven in the style of the 80s, those days when perfumers would through some 30 odd notes on the wall and voila, come up with a new blockbuster aunty perfume. So, maybe, the opening is a bit....overwhelming, although I cannot fault any particular note as being wrong or unpleasant in its context. You just have to know what you are getting into. So on my last testing, I let it mellow down a little and then sprayed an Angel dupe. Alternatively, I could have layered with another gourmandish oriental, or maybe even a fruitchouli and I feel it gives those well known modern classics an interesting warm, fruitish oud twist that will make people wonder what the heck it is you are wearing. Try if you are curious about oud and if you like "big" 80s fragrances and vintage classics.

Opens very fruity with a blast of the plum note, then it's quickly taken over by the rose and saffron. The rose here is very deep, more like rosewater than a floral rose, which gives the fragrance a very middle eastern vibe. As it develops, the oud becomes more noticeable. The oud is not animalic or skanky in anyway, and compliments the other notes well. Nasaem is a classic middle eastern rose oud fragrance with a fruity twist. If you have experience with rose oud fragrances, then this might not be all that unique, although at the low price point, it's certainly worth a try if you are into that style of fragrance. Longevity is good, about 7 hours on my skin. The projection is strong for a good 4 hours, and then it's a pretty intimate scent. In the dry down, the fragrance completely changes to a light and comforting, clean-laundry like scent. I've only tried the oil, so I can't speak for the EDP, but the oil is of great quality. You don't need to use a lot, and the performance is outstanding. My one gripe is that, when initially applied, there is a slight synthetic, plastic like smell, but only if you stick your nose right into it. But not to fret, the plastic smell is all but gone after a couple of minutes.

Oh this is stunning! Love at first sniff for me virtually. This is a most heavenly smelling perfume. It is slightly smoky on me in an incensy way, sweet but not cloyingly so, hint of jasmine, definitely some wood going on there but also a little rose. It is easy to layer with too. If I layer with Arba Wardat and/or Esraa, I get some sort of coconut ice thing going on (you know, that sweet made from coconut and sugar with vanilla, etc?). I could have died and gone to heaven with this perfume. I am considering buying another bottle just as a back up and I only just received my first bottle! If this is a fresh, very light wind, then it is a divine wind, straight from heaven! I agree most with the review by Angela Agiannadou and HannahNori. :) Not disagreeing with the others but my experience is most similar to theirs.

Arabic speakers what does Nasaem mean? I have worn this before but says unisex so any men out there...would you wear this? Please dm me :)

Lovely! Lately I've been exploring Nabeel's roller ball fragrances newly available through Al Rashadbooks.com ( no affiliation ), and this is my favorite thus far. Wearing Nasaem all day, it grows on me and suits our warmer weather perfectly. First of all, this reminds me considerably of Nabeel Touch Me, except that Nasaem is deeper, warmer, and a touch sweeter. ( Though neither are what you could call 'sweet' by any standard. ) Nasaem is also not half as sharp, at least on me! Given the choice, my chemistry vastly prefers Nasaem. :) Both are beautiful, unisex choices - with refreshing citrus openings. As the fragrance develops I sense wonderful herbs, cedar, and a solid dose of oud. The flowers never really take center stage for me, only quietly rounding out the edges of this oud centered scent. The patchouli and fruits too are scarcely noticable as such, just wonderfully blended. I have smelled ouds that are quite costly, and still to my nose little better than this budget beauty. That said, if oud is a problem for your skin, it's doubtful that Nasaem will delight you. Better to try the scented air freshener in that case.... There are many products from Nabeel in this scent, so you have your choice of options! Sillage - light to moderate ( for an Arabian oil, that is! ) Longevity - excellent DEFINATELY WORTH EVERY PENNY ;)

Nasaem is a bit too "fresh" for me... I enjoy the heaviness of Touch Me a bit more... but still, I think Nasaem is nice. I can't think of a better season than springtime to wear this, and the title in English- "breezes"- is quite fitting. I'm not going to run through the notes as others have already done so... As I've lived through the '70's and '80's and all of the powerful fragrances of those days, Nasaem doesn't strike me as obnoxious whatsoever... it's actually fairly "light" for a middle-eastern attar (in agreement with Drugstore Classics below). Soapy-fresh and floral-fruity with an intriguing "dry", woody base that has the feel of a vintage daytime chypre without the oakmoss... Nasaem is clean and modern, like Dubai. Reminds me of a cross between Al Haramain 'Musk' (15ml line)- a clean-fresh, floral-musk... and CK 'Escape for Men' (which has a unisex vibe). ---Hours later, my nose is glued to my arm, inspecting the base... I smell frankincense and iso e in addition to what's listed above.

Ahhh, Nasaem... Received it today so in a hurry I dubbed some on my coat and went out. A short while after, taking my coat off I got a sensuous, Smoky, exotic smell emanating from the aforementioned coat...it was Nasaem!! What a gorgeous oil! You get a good mix of spicy, deep, Smoky plum, red velvety rose and Oud with a touch of patch, pineapple and cedar that gives a deep and aromatic dimension beyond belief! Nabeel has some fabulous gems and this is true to form. The addition of aldehydes, unlike their alcoholic pairing in western perfumery,here with oil are a fabulous addition lending a sparkling, zesty touch to the entire juice without preventing the rest of the notes to shine. And shine they do! All in a well blended harmony! This is a true gem and very glad to posses it. It is Smoky, mysterious, deep, exotic, yet wearable and memorable and will get you tones of compliments. Totally unisex but so sultry! A winner!

If this was a Montale it would be Aoud Pineapple. Starts with a dark synthetic oud, color it black, paired with a yellow citrus note that blooms into a transparent fruity pineapple enhanced with camphor (oud?) and maybe a bit of fruity rose. It's more noticeable when you put some inside your clothing and take a whiff, all the notes meld together. In my bottle they disperse rather quickly when exposed to open air. Dry down a little thin and woody like a Montale but there's also a suggestion of a luminescent green chypre base. Pleasant composition, interesting to contemplate. It belongs to a family of middle eastern perfumes that have sharp citrus and fruity rose notes over oud and sometimes amber notes. It's a clever variation on that theme.

I gave my best friend this dark jammy rose for her bday and she said that it makes her feel like a better version of herself - that she LIKES herself better with this on!! I am not completely sure what that means except that I think it was a hit with her.

Wow! What a list of notes..... As a newbie to Arabian attars and oils, these descriptions simultaneously perplex and tantalize me. I would love to read a review by a member who has actually SMELLED this heady sounding potion! Update - Thank you all!!!!

Sweet, woody and floral. I like it. Not to overpowering. Sillage and longevity is good. The oud note is subtle.

Just received today. Not my favorite, has a vintage vibe.

this one opens with rose, oud, saffron and a lot of musk/aldehydes, with a hint of plum in the background. i love rose ouds but this is too much white musk for my tastes. it's the kind that's quite chemical and almost burns when i smell it. it has a fresh sort of breezy linen thing going on from the musk/aldehydes. i prefer a dirtier musk personally.

This is more feminine then masculine. It's a bit to much on the floral side, its more for the ladies that are into Estee Lauder fragrances. It's not a sexy sensual fragrance either. Moderate sillage and longevity it's an okay for me but I don't see myself wearing it again unfortunetly.

Nasty medicinal stink to my Western nose. I tried to like this, I really did. Adjusting my expectations from typical 'nice' smelling things to something deeper and different. Couldn't do it. The nose likes what it likes, and right now, it does NOT like Nasaem. When I am not such a newbie to arabian-style perfumes, I may come back to Nasaem (which I'm told is an 'advanced' scent) and see if my opinion changes. Hopefully, it will.

I discovered Nasaem oil by chance, ordering a dupe from perfumeparlour/ UK, and fell in love with it. So then I ordered the original Nabeel version which is even better. Its price and the longevity of this perfume are unbeatable. One or two drops maximum allow you to enjoy it for many hours. It is a slightly sweet scent, in the beginning quite fresh, so men can also wear it if not overapplied, where floral notes and rose are harmoniously blended with woody notes and subtle oud. This scent is not a new sensation, something you have never smelled before, but the combination of wood and oud and rose and flowers is brilliantly done here. IMO this perfume can easily compete with highclass designer and niche perfumes but unfortunately or luckily - depending on the point of view - it is not well known. At Nabeel company and in the middle east it has been a bestseller since its introduction to the market in 1995 and obviously still is. Well, that tells us something!

Oud Blend... Arabian "attar" type fragrance oils are often said to have the same theme - Oud. It is often quite a prominent smell, and even I don't always gravitate towards it. I think that with this fragrance, had I not been acquainted with the smell and "feel" of Oud, then I may not have liked it. As it is, I think this is a great Oud based fragrance. I don't detect all of the listed notes here, but I do detect the woody aspect, including agarwood (Oud) and cedarwood. I think because I am reviewing the oil version, the development is quite linear. I think in Eau de Parfum, the story would be different. Overall I would recommend this for fans of Oud, and who are on a budget. For those who haven't tried Oud based Middle Eastern oils before, or who don't like the note of Oud, then I would say look elsewhere. I'm sticking with this one for now because I like it, and I'm in the mood for Oud!

The first thing that hits with this one is a medicinal smell, which could be the geranium saffron oud and papyrus. No one note sticks out, a sweet musky oriental, a big indiscernible rosy, fruity and woody concoction with a vintagey - and very herbal, medicinal - feel. It's a big mess on my skin, but you never know how your chemistry will like it. Edit: Second testing wow. So different. A super sweet delicious fruity musky oriental floral. Today I am absolutely loving it. No bitterness either. Maybe my skin chem has changed since last time I tried it?? Sweet, jammy almost, taif rose and geranium, oud is sweet as well, nothing from barnyard and no smoke in this fragrance. It is approachable fruity-woody-rose mix, where on surface you detect strong citruses, - lime, bergamot and zest from pineapple. It is quite heady and strong, tickling nose sensation at the beginning, but then it is all about eastern rose, that many centuries ago crusaders brought from Middle East to the West. Different from many other roses I have tried in attars, so will go for full size bottle. For some reason I can't stop thinking of Orlando Bloom in his "Kingdom Of Heaven", while wearing Nasaem.

Some minute ago I received this perfume and I put a drop of it on my hand. At the moment it smells very good. First notes that come to my nose are the fruity ones (pineapple and plum), After all the ingredients seem explode together like instruments in a final of a symphony. Rose and orchid are predominant. After 6 hours: woody notes are dominant and fruity notes are less intensive, It is still floral, but in powdery way. Very pleasant perfume. After 5 days. The more I wear it, the more I love it !!!
