Essence Eau de Musc Fresh Iridescent Eau Fraîche

Heavenly bedtime musk. EedMFIeF starts with a transient fresh citrusy opening (a mild bergamot with a sprinkling of lavender to my nose), it soon disappears and then you are left for 2-3 hours with the most smooth, clean and elegant skin scent. It is a fuzzy-creamy (like an airy mousse), softly powdery musc due to the iris and maybe some heliotrope, but with no earthiness at all. I don’t get the amber but maybe it just adds some warmth and very slight sweetness. EedMFIeF has a very specific use for me. In summer, after my nighttime shower/bath and lotion I apply it liberally. It is so delicate, comforting and cuddly. You smell like a baby and probably will sleep like one. An expensive use, but very satisfying to indulge once in a while.

Iris and rose? This is a herbal citrus musk. Somewhat similar to Sarah Jessica Parker covet, but muskier Pretty, but not long lasting at all

Essence Eau de Musc Fresh Iridescent is a flanker of Essence Eau de Musc fragrance, from 2011, and was the brand's third Iridescent fragrance after Essence Iridescent and For Her Iridescent, both from 2010. They bring together a sparkling content that blends into the juice and reproduces a visual effect similar to what we see in nail polish sold to women. Vials often carry the inscription “shake before use” and the content, although thick, does not clog the valve. The fragrance kept the DNA of the Essence line, bringing the same notes of rose and iris, now in the center of the composition, next to the famous musk that represents the fragrance division of this brand. But to convey the brilliance that an Eau Fraîche needs, the top gained a citrus accord and the musk used was the white, usually more pointed, vibrant and full of nuances that reinforce the cleansing aspect. And the base, once again, brought the amber. Although classified as another musky-floral launched by Narciso Rodriguez, on the skin it behaves like a musky-citrus with floral and amber facets. On my skin, it has a very similar output to the one I feel when I wear a Givenchy’s perfume called Eau Torride. The initial smell is almost sour as if they had used the acidic zest rather than the essential oils that bring freshness and invigoration. And this starting point takes time to fit with the musk, taking the fragrance to a completely different path from what I have already known within the universe of Narciso Rodriguez. In my opinion, Essence Eau de Musc Fresh Iridescent tries to cover a space in the market that calls for fresher fragrances, but it's too simple, especially compared to other creations. Moreover, the beauty of the effect obtained by shaking the bottle does not compensate for the fragrance's lack of performance. I dare say that a good note of orange blossom (or neroli) would have solved this issue much more satisfactorily. But since you can't always win, the way is to adapt. In my case, it works great when I want to do layering with a more ozonic or fruity masculine fragrance because it builds a softer, creamy layer that doesn't fall apart with the other olfactory pyramid.
