Essence Iridescent

I've shared my thoughts on the original Essence and how tenderly perfect the marriage of iris and musk is, and while Essence Iridescent is extremely similar, the longevity and sillage do not compare. If you need your Essence fix, it suffices, but the original formula dominates on all fronts. If you are in love with the idea of the sparkles, though, I say go for it. They don't show up that prominently on clothes and do give a very subtle wet skin look.

Do not be scared of the sparkles :) They don't really show on your skin. It's lovely, if you like both of the flowers in it. I think it's a perfect fragrance for Spring and a great alternative to citrusy smells for spring/summer. The drydown reveals the typical NR musky notes. It's wonderful, creamy, milky, femminine, elegant, simple and light. It's not too sweet. I love soapy, powdery scents and this is just great for me. Well done. (4)

Beautiful soft elegant scent....in my fav section on my profile.... up top written in the blurb it reads iris ,rose, benzoin, musk - same notes as the regular Essence in the shiny bottle -yet the notes they decide to show in the pic are only the iris and rose. They need some proof checking here at Fragrantica!

This is my everyday scent; I feel it is sophisticated and light enough to be worn anywhere. The only defect for me is that Essence Iridescent doesn't last very long - I can't smell it on my skin after a few hours, and I tend to spray this on quite heavily. Thank goodness for the big, 70 ml bottle!

It's fantastic!! Actually a Narciso Rodriguez's fragrance that is perfect for the kind of weather where I live: in a hot and humid city. It's a very delicate fragrance, elegant and I love the smell of roses, iris, musk (a very nice musk, indeed), and I also love benzoin! Perfect for me!

Agree with nattonline on this one. The iridescent version of the Essence seems much, much better, lighter, airier, and faster getting to the beautiful, and enchanting drydown. This one is much easier to wear than the original.

Let me tell you. This is much better than the original Essence in the shiny reflective bottle. It's just not as strong and as squeaky clean. Iridescent is very soft and comforting scent. It's also very romantic and classy in a way. Powdery iris and milky soft rose make such a wonderful combination. Oh yeah, the musk in here is very pleasant. It's like a sheer veil of musk. It's not animalic because of something creamy;soften everything around it. Yes, it's very feminine, but I find it so comforting and clean that I want to wear it (I'm a guy) all the time. I have had it on for around 5 hours and I'm very pleased. Now I wish I had an extra bottle, so I can use it more often.

Its nice, inoffensive and has a lovely bright soft rose scent. It's a clean, soapy skin scent. My hubbs smelled this on me today and went nuts. He said he could smell me all day wearing this. The dry down is powdery iris and musk. EDIT: After giving this sample a retry and wearing it with some time I've really come to appreciate this scent. This fragrance is still soapy fresh, light and inoffensive. It is a departure from some of the others in this line but in no way is this scent less than any of the others I've tried. It has since become my favorite of NR.

I'm an NR fan but mostly bought this for shits and giggles (i.e., for the sparkles) when I saw a partial bottle for a good price on Mercari. I figured I'd just spray it a few times to test, probably only think it was okay, and keep it for a while to shake periodically like a snow globe. But it's turned out to be a sleeper hit - very comforting, very Mom vibes (even though my actual mom never wore this), so it's one that I wear both to bed and when I'm going for a calm and cozy vibe at work. I do also shake it periodically like a snow globe.

This is a soft, clean fragrance, that still has character & good staying power. I love it more every time I wear it, as it appears to display different aspects in different weather.Unique.

Delicate, creamy and elegant. Scent stays close and lasts around 5/6 hrs, it's quite lovely. Powdery Iris and rose with a beautiful musky dry down, very light and wearable. Beautiful transparent bottle, the perfume looks like a glittery snow globe.

Fresh clean iris and rose with no spices to complicate the mixture. So intoxicating. I spray a bit at the end of my long hair so I can have a whiff during the day. It is perfect for warmer weather. The subtle shimmer it leaves on your skin is hardly noticeable (will have to see on full sunshine) and reminds me of face hiliters that has been rubbed off. The shimmer in the bottle settles at the bottom and swirls after being shaken - bonus of owning the scent. Hubby likes it much better compared to other spring-y scents I have like Diorissimo. I sprayed in the crook of my arm at 8am then showered at 1pm and could still smell it at 4pm. It could be the bit that was sprayed onto the sleeve of my sweater - I don't know. I will repurchase when this is gone (Winners please have another bottle for me) just because hubby loves it. This is so delicious that it is easy to overspray. I adore Narciso Rodriguez Essence but the limited edition NR Essence Iridescent is definitely for the ladies. Both have the same smell, no differences on fragrance notes at all. The differences is the bottle design, Narciso rodriguez essence iridescent's bottle is transparent (so you could see the juice inside). SHAKE IT!! ...and you will find magic inside the bottle :) When you spray it on your skin, ...then your skin will be glittering & sparkling, Beautiful! :) That's why I more prefer the original Essence (without the glitter effect) :)

The first time when I smell this I thought it was magic in a bottle. Soft subtle very feminine inviting intriguing and something that I could smell for a very long time. Not headachy like some fragrances can be. It's a shame that it was discontinued

I bought this due to the notes being listed here as Iris and rose I thought it was a flanker of the original Essence - it is not it is just Essence with iridescent particles. I do love the fragrance but was so looking forward to Iris.

A romantic fragrance that makes me think of an angel's wings shimmering white. Overall, innocent and full of affection. Almost like a mother's love for her child.

This really does have a magical smell to it ..so classy and clean and very Beautiful
