Narciso Rodriguez For Her Pink Edition

EDIT: Revisiting this almost 1 year later. The bitter opening has mellowed down (maybe my bottle needed time?) and this is a very sweet, musky, orange blossom musk. I was going to declutter it since I never reached for it after my first review about a year ago so I decided to test again. Performance is INSANE. I sprayed ONCE on my arm and this baby was projecting like crazy for hours. Woke up the next day about 10 hours later, could still distinctly smell it ON SKIN. So on clothes longevity would be months I imagine. 😆 I really like this one, and will be keeping it and giving it more use in the spring. ************************************************* Got my hands on the new Narciso Rodriguez For Her Pink Edition, a collab between Francis Kurkdjian and Christine Nagel. This was NOT a love at first sniff. This is supposed to be Narciso Rodriguez for Her with a little extra something. The opening unfortunately has a bitterness to it that initially threw me off— the ONLY reason I did not scrub it off is that I REFUSE to believe Francis Kurkdjian would make a scrubber. 😅 What stands out most in the opening is the For Her musky DNA but smothered in orange blossom but not orange blossom in the typical way you’d expect. It’s like orange blossom blended with a bunch of stems and the liquid is strained out to make the opening, giving a slightly green, bitter edge. Thankfully that goes away after about 15 minutes to reveal a sweet, floral musk with a hint of clean soapiness. I have never been into any of the Narciso Rodriguez fragrances and musk really isn’t my thing. Still trying to understand this one. It’s nice, just not wow but it’s growing on me. I don’t get much citrus or amber. Just a clean, sweet, slightly soapy, floral musk.

i got this one accidentally because it was listed on ebay as the standard For Her EDT. I can't speak to the similarity to the black bottle version, because I was attempting to buy my first bottle of that one but it is similar in vibe to FK's Rumuer by Lanvin, though much more simple and stripped of the ripe fruit aspect of Rumuer. Yet it still has that sweet, humid quality that Rumeur has. I was after the black bottle NR for her because I heard it was a similar vibe but drier and muskier, which appealed to me but while this is very high quality, it's not that. Honestly, this is almost a soliflore. I only smell sweet orange flower and a slight damp greenness, probably the bergamot or the patchouli, no amber, no vetiver and none of the infamous NR muskiness i was hoping to try. It's smooth and a little soapy. Here's hoping this develops with time and balances out... at least I got it for a very fair price! I'll probably wear it when I want something simple and 'freshly washed' feeling, because it is higher quality and much longer lasting than my other 'clean white flowers' scents (mostly cheapies). the pink matte finish bottle is cute and classy but the cap is *really* loose. I would have suspected a counterfeit except afaik the LEs haven't been copied. Definitely not a bottle to move by the cap!
