Narciso Rodriguez for Him Bleu Noir Eau de Parfum

Classy, sexy, clean, fresh, dark, powdery, warm, cozy. This is a great fragrance, and one of my favorite buys of 2020 thus far. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, and will definitely smell familiar to most noses. This woody-musky-fougereish DNA has doubtlessly been done before. However, the blending, quality, and the manner in which Bleu Noir EDP pulls off that DNA off is notable. First off, I will say that I have not smelt the EDT, so I can't say how it compares. I will say, however, that this has absolutely NOTHING to do with Terre d'Hermes beyond the fact that they both contain vetiver and wood. There are shades of Cartier's Declaration here, but only just; this is not by any means a clone of that fragrance. Bleu Noir EDP is dominated by a smooth, creamy, clean musk and supported by woods and amber. None of the spiciness, bitterness, dirtiness, or really complexity of Declaration is present here. This like Declaration trimmed of all its sharpness and edge, rounded off and smoothed over. Overall it is an exceedingly simple fragrance (in the best way) with little evolution which is completely inoffensive, comfortable, and easy to wear. If you love clean musk, this is one of the best in the designer realm for men. As others have commented, this is a fragrance of contrasts. It absolutely lives up to the name "Bleu Noir", i.e. "dark blue". There is definitely darkness here - dark woods, deep amber, rooty vetiver - but there's light, despite the lack of citrus, and transparency too. The musk is at once dense, creamy, and fresh. The mental image I get when I smell Bleu Noir is almost exactly the same as the bottle - a sheet of dark, cobalt blue glass, opaque but transparent enough to see through, with a light shining behind it. Because of the contrasts, I could easily see different facets of the fragrance emerging depending on the weather. I've only worn it in warm weather thus far, and I've been getting mostly the lighter side of things in the heat. At the moment, the dark ebony and cedar only seem seem to emerge in the deep drydown. However, I could easily see this being just as well-suited to the cold as it is to the heat, with the woods and amber taking center stage. It truly fulfills its role as a "blue" fragrance, being a Swiss Army knife that can be used for all occasions in all seasons. I have not had the performance issues that others have had at all. 4-5 sprays lasts me about all day (7-8 hrs) with soft but noticeable projection for the majority of the day and arm's length sillage. It creates a very pleasant but somewhat restrained aura around you, which in my book is the best kind of projection. I'll have to test how well it performs in colder weather, but performance in warm weather has been surprisingly strong. Overall, Bleu Noir EDP is an easy to wear, dark, classy, clean, and sensual fragrance that I've worn the hell out of since picking it up two months ago. It's become one of my favorite dumb reaches, and my girlfriend has started to refer to it as "your scent". I think this one has flown under the radar, which is easy to do in this blue designer market. If you wear Bleu Noir EDP, you won't necessarily smell "different" per se (though rest assured, this smells nothing like Bleu de Chanel, Sauvage, Dylan Blue, or Elysium), but you will smell great. For men looking for a great all-rounder that stands apart from the currently trending, I rate this is as a top pick. This is the kind of fragrance that wears like a perfect pair of jeans. It's comforting and cozy, stylish and suave, sleek and a little bit sexy. It's not a statement piece, and it's not even necessarily a huge compliment getter, but what wardrobe is complete without a great pair of jeans? For the price I paid ($56 for 100ml with a great presentation), I couldn't be happier. 8.5/10

First off, let me say this. Some of these fragrance review descriptions are laughable, at best. Others are just downright cringe worthy. Example; comparisons to Terre d'Hermes & CK One with a reviewer stating as follows. "The fragrance becomes similar. Not completely but, to a great extent. Dirty Orange & Vetiver feels." What?? But, wait as it gets better my fragrance bro-hams & sisters. A comparison to CK1 and this individual states "I haven't smelled CK1 in years but, this is exactly how I remember it." Huh?? Ok, first Terre d'Hermes and its scent profile. Citrus up top with Orange & Grapefruit. That opening leads to a powerful yet masculine peppery, Flint and floral accord. Finishing it off is Cedar, Patchouli, Vetiver and a touch of Benzoin. Dirty Orange juiciness with woods. The Vetiver here is more rooty and more pronounced compared to Bleu Noir edp which is cleaner and softer. Now this part is really important frag-heads. Pay attention. Musk is a predominant note in Bleu Noir edp throughout the whole wearing and life of the fragrance. That is a fact and is not debatable. Ok now, how much musk is in Terre d'Hermes? Wait for it. Absolutely NONE!! I know, mind boggling. See what I'm getting at here? It's not that hard to draw up a conclusion here on how similar or dissimilar these two fragrances are. You be the judge. CK One is not even in the same planet as it is a total green, citrus and tea like fragrance. I'm not going to address this fragrance in comparison to NR BN edp. It's an embarrassment to suggest or think that they are alike. The truth of the fragrance reviews have gone on the side of pathetic to sheer lunacy. A travesty to be honest as it dilutes the very nature of what this forum was created for. The overall impression of what a fragrance represents and portrays has been gutted by clueless fragrance rhetoric that just confuses and deters the average/casual fragrance follower from seeking unbiased and proper fragrance descriptions in a concise manner that is thoughtful with a semblance of intellect and some intelligence. The shit that is said/written here is purely whimsical and profoundly incoherent. But, I do giggle quite a bit. NR Bleu Noir is floral, woods and musk. I get nothing more. There is that blue nuance to it a la Bleu De Chanel but, it has none of the citrus opening and much less of the ambroxan vibe though it is lightly present. This has quality craftsmanship with a subtle elegance and sophistication that is equal to Bleu De Chanel with a much softer projection yet serves its purpose beautifully as an everyday scent with better than average longevity. It evolves simply but, masterfully on the few ingredients and accords that it implies and carries. It's simply a gorgeous blue, woods and musk fragrance with a floral touch that is impeccably done. Musk is this house's bread and butter and it is done and represented here to near perfection. If you like clean musk and woods with a floral undertone adjacent to a light shower gel blue vibe, this just might fit the bill.

wWOWw! Has anyone noticed a "Buttery Richness" whenver you sniff where you sprayed this fragrance up-close? (Maybe the Amber or Ebony wood?) Idk, but this truley smells FANTASTIC, and after having NR Bleu Noir edp for about a year now, I just noticed it a few days ago! Now I do own a lot of fragrances so I dont wear this all that often, and its actually been about 4 to 5 months since Ive last worn it so it could be a "Maturation Thing", but man this smells really very nice! I really love the slightly powdery soapiness offered by the Vetiver note and if NR Bleu Noir edp reminds me of ANYTHING, it would have to be John Varvatos Artisan Pure except the John Varvatos is much, much more citrusy whereas this has no citrus that I can detect, but these two are in the same genre imo. Also, folks say that this Bleu Noire edp does not lasts very long, but I beg to differ! On me this lasts a good 6 to 7 hours on skin with Moderate to good projection and lasts DAYS on clothes. Also this scent is preeetty easy to go nose-blind to bc Ive noticed that whenever I spray a good amount on my neck and chest I just cant even smell it after say.. 2 hours. Yet if I spritz it on my forearms and lower torso away from my face, Im getting pretty good wiffs of it throughout an entire 8 hour work shift! Now the good performance may be the "Maturation thing", but thats what Im getting, and Im a "Performance Whore" if a fragrance doesn't have decent to great longevity then I really do loose interest and therefore wouldnt be defending Bleu Noir' honor like this, LOL! So yeah, try NOT to be like me where whenever I het a new fragrance and it performs poorly, I get to leaving little rants on here and other forums, where then I have to basically EAT MY WORDS bc ya best believe that Ill go back and correct myself when at times "Maturation" really does help with over all performance and even the actual scent its self. Give Bleu Noir edp a little times after using it a few times having let some air into the bottle so that the scent can properly Maturate. I mean it just really works and can COMPLETELY change a fragrance 99.9% of the time. NR Bleu Noir smells fantastic, classy, and although its no beastmode frag, it does infact have good performance. A wrll deserved 8 outta 10 in my book, veeery nice!☺️

Frankly, sometimes I wonder if many of the people who write so loudly here have really smelled the fragrance... Because there are things subject to opinion, but there are others that absolutely not. And much of what I have read about this perfume here, is simply a lie. First of all, I got it... So at least, I know perfectly what I am talking about: I don't write a review based on four snorts on a cardboard. For me - without a doubt -, this perfume is at the highest level of designers quality... And in my honest opinion, one of the best recently launched: the definition of a modern masterpiece. This perfume is deep and fresh, comforting and modern, creamy and elegant... A highly seductive fragrance. The main player here is musk, wrapped in sophistication, romanticism and mystery. Characteristics: - Mood: Sensual, seductive, elegant, classy. - Projection: Moderate. At the opening, it has the length of an arm (<2h.). Afterwards, a persistent half an arm throughout its development. - Sillage: Dense & consistent. Suitable for clubs and perfect for dates and close encounters. -Longevity: > 10h. This scent acts as a deep cloud of refined musky aroma around you, for a looooong time. ... So if you really know the perfume, in no way will you believe the words of someone saying that it doesn't last: Possibilities: - 1: The guy in question simply hasn't been tried the true perfume. - 2: It's a simple lie. - 3: His nose doesn't work or is broken; I have read that some people are not able to detect the smell of musk well, but I don't know if this is really true. - 4: Maybe his body odor is so smelly that it exceeds the perfume; musk is a "bass" smell (making an analogy with sound), which can be completely masked with body odor, if it is excessive. ... But if you are a clean and neat person, this would not be a problem, right..? NOTE: It should be noted that this EDP version it is quite different from the EDT, which is the one that has a slight resemblance to TdH & Declaration. That doesn't happen in this EDP, although the versions still maintain some common DNA. Between the two, I prefer the EDP: It's more elegant, more seductive and lasts longer, but the EDT hits and projects more in the opening, if you're looking for that. It's different... But a solid fragrance, too.

If you're looking for a men's fragrance that's off the beaten path, but without overdoing it, Bleu Noir EDP is a sure bet.

So I finally got my mitts on Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir EDP and it did NOT dissapoint! I really enjoy the fresh, clean, brightness of it, and the way the Vetiver was used in this concoction... very nice, very classy! Before I purchased Bleu Noir edp, Id watched a few vids on YT where reviewers were claiming that this reminded them a lot of CK One (which I love), but that had me a bit concerned bc I already own CK One and I dont like too much redundancy in my frag collection. Luckily, although I suppose this is in the same (wheelhouse) as CK One, its really not that similar at all. Now Bleu Noir Edp does remind me much more of John Varvatos Artisan Pure, another classy fragrance. I get a very clean, fresh, soapy vibe from NR Bleu Noir EDP that isn't in CK One, also Bleu Noir is a much more mature fragrance than CK One is. Now when I say "soapy" I DO NOT mean shower gel soapy like most blues out today, I mean expensive (hand-crafted) bar of soap vibes. Also, I've noticed that some folks claim that the performance is lack luster with Bleu Noir EDP, and I completely dissagree! On skin this last a full work shift, bout 7-8 hrs on skin, but on clothes I can easily pick up Blue Noir EDP till the next day! This EDP is NO SLOUCH! Narciso Rodriguez is THEE perfect office, cashual/classy, unique Spring/Summer scent. This rides the line between crowd pleasing/niche/designer. I feel a definate pepp in my step when I wear this fragrance bc it gives you the sense of just being well "put together" Also, for what its worth, THE PACKAGING IS BEAUTIFUL!! Understated, simple yet Chic. This fragrance gets a definate 8 outta 10 in my book and again, outta the 50+ bottles in my collection, Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir EDP manages to remain quite unique amongst my fragrances.. A real steal for the pricepoint!🤓

First off a very pleasant and 'otherworldly' aromatic fougère sensation that is rather different to whatever else is out there. However, this 'different, green, sharp, otherworldly' trend has recently been revamped by various offerings and seems to go mainstream now. Who remembers Patrick Duffy in "Man from Atlantis"? He'd be the perfect poster boy for this, had it come out in 1984. For me this sits somewhere in between Bond No 9 "Bleeker Street", Roja Dove's "Elysium" and CHANEL's "Bleue". It does however have a somewhat weirdly, screechy, indescribable blue note, no I am not talking jazz, although there is ebony wood in there, but more of a crispy citrus, dunked in some formaldehyde or something industrial and petrochemical. It could be PVC-vinyl, cooled in some Pacific sea water, captured from the depth of the Galapagos archipelago or something similarly remote. It's just so strange.... I suspect this to do extremely well for those sophisticated and 'too cool for skool' boys and young men, trying hard to compete in an ever-growing market of trend-hungry metrosexuals, gender-fluids, so yes this will please both quarters either side of the fence. Gosh, I can even see women wear this; you know how women sometimes prefer and "steal" our era-defining male scents. Now, if the 90ies was the decade of aquatics and the Noughties was the era of the Oudhs, we can safely assume that this decade of the Teen years is definitely a rather green/blue-fougère affair. And so far I have to say, I like it a lot! No more Oudhs please, we have had enough! Verdict: Weirdly wonderful 9/10. If only it lasted longer....(version intense?)

One of my all time favorites. Fairly simple clean citrusy white floral with a little emphasis on the musk. It's a layered sweet soft fluffy musk without the amber/silkwood infused musk of YSL. So if you want a 1/2 price alternative to Myself, then this could do. I personally enjoy it as much or more. I love musk and have some bombs. This ain't close. But it's really good at what it does. This edp gets more shower gel like than the edt. It has okay performance. Pretty good for 3-4 hours then turns into a nice little fluffy cloud close to skin. I'm probably going nose blind. Still much better performance than the edt which smells amazing but is super watered down. This one doesn't have as much spice but performs so much better. Performs like a Cartier declaration edt. Smells like Cartier declaration haute fraicheur, although that one performs poorly like Bleu Noir edt. Take some time to burp it and let it breathe some for the performance to improve. My third bottle in under a year. First one lasted about a month, next a couple weeks more. I'm trying to get through summer with this one this time. I really appreciate this one and think it's amazing. It's a perfect 9/10 because it seems to be purposely holding back. I can understand how many can find this one boring, I didn't have high hopes but I heard some things that struck me about NR Bleu Noir and had to blind try and was really surprised with how much I like it. This is a gem of a deal at discounters. Probably a big reason why I like it so much. NR is like a mix between Chanel and Dior for quality in my opinion. Especially for the women, NR is amazing.

I normally don’t blind buy but took a chance on this one based on research and an overly tempting outlet price. My first sniff was a “like” - definitely pleasant, but I wasn’t sure about something in the opening which gave me a bit of a “man-imalic” tinge. To me it smells faintly of cumin (although I’ve only ever seen cardamom and nutmeg listed as spices in this frag, elsewhere but not on Fragrantica). Still, it had an alluring quality that kept me coming back to test. After a few more wears, I gradually came around to the brilliance of this scent and it’s now a “love”. Bleu Noir EDP wears like an elegant second skin, providing a naturally clean aura that is understated with a sexy, masculine edge. Putting this on straight out of the shower just feels perfect. It is a “blue” scent in the sense that it's fresh and versatile, but the “black” side of the namesake also adds a uniquely cozy, sensual quality which differentiates it from the mainstream blues on the market. This works well for everything from casual to more dressed-up occasions, and I personally find it a great reach for "Netflix and chill" with the girlfriend due to its laid-back and inviting feel. The soft spicy woods, bright vetiver and clean musks are all smoothly blended and appealing. Performance wise, this tends on the moderate side for an EDP, but with respectable longevity. In my experience, sprays can be dialed up without fear of becoming cloying. Overall, a classy and mature frag that I find myself reaching for again and again, and one that makes a strong case as a politely musky signature.

I like it quite a bit. I first had the EDT some time ago and would say that version is tiny bit better, but this EDP variant is still beautiful. Out of the shower, musky, powdery, masculine, sexy... I especially love to wear it when being dressed elegantly (or somewhat casual) in the summer. Not extremely loud, but if a lady happens to get close to your skin she will immediately be alerted by this scent in a positive fashion. I have gotten a fair amount of compliments when wearing it over the years, with some women absolutely loving the scent. It's a little bit sharp or pungent in the opening, but it becomes very much bearable after the first couple minutes. Still, it might be not appealing to everybody as this sharpness does not go away in the first half an hour until it sits closer to the skin. Other than that, it's very inoffensive and a nice scent to feel great once you are already dressed well. Bleu Noir can be worn at the office, to the gym, to class, or wherever you want to go. This scent will not blow anyone away, but that's also not what Bleu Noir is trying to achieve. Instead, it is a great iteration of a blue fragrance; a perfume which most, if not all, men can pull off. It's not the best fragrance for in the winter, but it's still very versatile and useable in all other seasons - both day and night. 8,5/10, because the scent is one that brings back memories and often gets me to make more. Also, it's often discounted, so it's a great fragrance to add to your collection for a relatively small price.

A fresher version of Bleu Noir EDT. The scent profile is the same, but the spices have been toned down, as have the woods to a lesser extent. The comparisons to Declaration are justified, as are the comparisons to Chrome - specifically the freshness of Chrome. This may seem confusing, especially if you’ve smelled both Declaration and Chrome as they’re very different fragrances; however, Bleu Noir EDP takes aspects from both and combines them into a fragrance that is still unique in it’s own right (pardoning the similarity to the Bleu Noir EDT). In a sort of fragrance evolution, from spicy to fresh, using Declaration as a starting point we’d end up with this: Declaration -> Bleu Noir EDT -> Bleu Noir EDP —> Chrome *Notice that there’s a larger “step” from Bleu Noir EDP to Chrome. Performance wise, Bleu Noir EDP is solid. I generally get 6-8 hours of longevity, with good projection for the first couple of hours. Beyond that, I still catch wafts but the overall “bubble” is much more intimate. Wearable year round, but best utilized in spring, summer, and early fall. TLDR; tone down the spiciness of Declaration, infuse the muskiness of Bleu Noir EDT, and add a less metallic version of freshness from Chrome, and you get Bleu Noir EDP. Edit: There is also a slight comparison to TDH, mostly due to the vetiver, but the vetiver here is nowhere near as dirty/earthy. The vetiver in Bleu Noir EDT is much closer to the one used in TDH.

Just taken delivery of my 100ml bottled of this beauty and am wearing it for the first time today (18 July 2024). Something in me hesitated from buying this for the longest time as I was worried about straying into blind-buy-fail territory. The comparisons to Cartier Declaration/CK One were tempting but at the same time conjured thoughts of "meh - been there done that".......well.....a great deal came to my attention a few days ago by way of competitive seller price plus discount code which I could not ignore so I took the fateful plunge. First things first - this is totally unique in my collection. 'Blue' yet not blue. Warm yet fresh. Creamy yet powdery. Clean and bright yet somehow dark and brooding in the fringes. I recognise the overall characteristics that many have said remind them of Cartier Declaration and CK One but somehow Bleu Noir Eau De Parfum is a different beast - not even a direct "Declaration-One" fusion but something a little 'extra'. Assuredly masculine. Confidently classy and stylish. To me this is akin to a luxury musk body moisturiser. Very nearly a G.A.D.A. scent but for the fact it could be cloying in high heat situations due to the stout Musk. My nose is not usually tuned to this level of 'punchy' Musk but I'm very quickly getting comfortable with it - oh yes, this is a keeper. 👌👏

Interestingly, there is a punch of what I detect as amberwood or similar in the opening - and I really hate anything with amberwood/ambermax and the sort - but the note comes and goes, or maybe just settles very quietly into the background that it becomes imperceptible throughout the rest of the wear, thankfully! The best of the bleu noir line. I'll never tire of it. The top notes have lots of lift and give a slight nod to ‘blue’ fragrances, but this is not a blue shower gel type fragrance at all. This is a cardamom-musk number primarily, and it’s beautifully balanced in its soft sillage. There's lots of musk here as expected from a NR fragrance which might be a bit much for some, but patience is rewarded because as the musk settles into the mid to late drydown, the composition morphs into the most comforting cocoon. Comparisons to the original, Declaration and TDH are warranted to some extent. Take the original EDT and tone down the scratchy vetiver, dial down the spices from Declaration, and skip the bitter metallic woodiness of TDH's drydown, then dose up the beautiful NR musks, what we get is a masterpiece fragrance that ends up surpassing them all. An added bonus is it lasts an entire workday without sledgehammering those around you.

This is a high quality woodlands scent. I get watery, citrus, green, and woodsy vetiver. It has the blue black woods NR musk. What a great combo. I love this scent. Wish it projected better but I don't mind overspraying this stuff. The skin smell lasts awhile. Really happy with this. I don't find it modern at all. This smells classic maybe just with a modern play on the musk. A joy to reapply. Never did I think CK One until I see it as #4 in the smells like and now I need a reality check. Who are these people? There should be a registry of some sorts. This could work well for anyone but may be appreciated more by the experienced enthusiast. I'm sure to run out of this stuff pretty fast and I'll have a tough choice to repurchase or not in a few months. I got something really good and similar on the radar that I sampled and really enjoyed. Update on the longevity: I'm getting better performance off of fewer sprays now. Also I'm getting lots of citric white florals also. It's really good. I will try the other NR fragrances. A spicier version of this sounds really good to me. So it's the edt next

let this one stay underrated guys. need to use just four words: a sexy dumb reach. i know most fragrance nerds do not step outside their home to get a genuine compliment for their fragrances. all they do is pushing fragrances that require a unique and educated nose to like, to the standard people who are easily influenced. as a man, who wore fragrances of all kind and stepped on all industry traps that are set and pushed like crazy, let me be clear. "the real women" you encounter in "real life", such as in places like work or a café, if you are a grown-up, tend to catch your scent when you smell clean, appealing and unique. Bleu Noir EDP checks all the boxes in that regard. this is a one that i will keep a bottle of my whole life. because it's versatile as f***. there's no environment and event this cannot be suitable for. not a beast mode but good longevity, subtle yet intoxicating sillage. not as iris-y as the parfum and not as childish as the edt. and anybody who calls Bleu Noir dna feminine must be out of their minds or must have their unique opinion on masculinity.

This fragrance suits me because, unlike many other fragrances, this one transforms on my skin. It opens with a sweet orange for the first few minutes, then the vetiver and spices come out, reminding me of Declaration. It develops a lovely creamy woodiness but settles quickly into a close skin scent after 30 minutes. Finally it settles into a faint, earthy scent which smells a lot like an aroma molecule called "geosmin". Geosmin gives a soily feel to a fragrance, like wet earth. The heavy musk and geosmin end the show, which doesn't last long all together. Now, this is an office or close-encounter fragrance through and through. This won't fill up a room if you've waited even 4 minutes after spraying to enter a room. It's not a screamer. It's meant to be classy and warm, which it pulls off. I'll probably always have it in my collection for the office because it is soft and non offensive. For a punchier fragrance with a similar DNA, try Declaration or Declaration Parfum by Cartier.

I love this cologne, I just wish it lasted a little longer. I usually get around 4-6 hours with moderate projection. As for the scent profile itself, to my nose it smelled like the original CK One with added muskiness (cumin like), and more pronounced woods. It's easily one of the most wearable scents I own, an easy grab especially for spring and summer. Do I regret buying it? No. Even with the lackluster longevity (I've had worse, it's not that bad), for me at least I still really enjoy the scent profile and don't have another like it in my collection. Great for going out to the store, for gym, even after a shower to enjoy. Edit: It definitely smells like the original Declaration, especially the musk and spicy tones, but toned down in a more appealing way, mixed with the citruses from the original CK one. Brighter, fresher, spicier, more masculine CK one with an obvious declaration signature base. Yes the performance could be better but regardless I really dig this scent.

I reviewed this a year or two back and figured I give another review emphasizing my love for this fragrance. It's one of the most underrated blue fragrances in the market and easily one of the best priced ones on discounters. You want to smell clean, but not boring? This is the one. What separates this from other blue fragrances is it's musk, it's addicting. This is not a blue shower gel, or sweet bomb, it's more of a woody citrus but not typical because of that musk. The EDT is great but goes too far into the musk range, while the EDP adds a subtle powder note (a la prada homme but much more reserved), and is somehow brighter than the original. Again both are solid, I just prefer the EDP more. Versatile, non offensive, fresh, long lasting (but doesn't project hard) and is good for all seasons apart from winter. All for under 60 bucks and you get a great sprayer and nice bottle. What's there not to love?

I feel like there is a tad bit of citrus in the top notes. Like a sour citric type of scent. I don't mind it bc It doesn't last long and it counterbalances the soft sweetness that follows. You predominantly get a sweet woodsy (cedar and ebony) musk type of scent. Like damp, natural wood, after it rains. Its very pleasant and sensual. You can def wear this to the office and year round, you will def get notice even though it isn't a LOUD scent. I feel like this is a great date night frag bc of its a sweet woodsy musk. My wife says this and The One EDT are the most intoxicating scents I own and that I should just exclusively wear them when I am with her. Lol. Besides everything I mentioned its a masculine musk. If you don't own a musk fragrance. This is definitely a safe blind buy imo. Especially if you are looking for a blue frag that has musk in it. Bleu Noir was the perfect name for this line.

Very clean shower gel musky fragrance . The notes always made me wonder because I don't really think shower gel clean and those notes working together. Finally got to try it and I totally get it now. The fragrance keeps that really clean characteristic the entire way through. It starts shower gel and as it sits gets more musky and powdery. I couldn't put my finger on it but it eventually hit me, this reminds me A LOT of Azzaro Chrome edt . It's not a copy but it has that aquatic wood scent chrome has. This is deeper and darker , has that shower gel and more musk but the similarities are totally there. On a test strip it keep the shower gel smell but on the skin develops the extra musk and gets a little powdery. Performance is not bad at all. On the skin you get a solid 5 hours and on clothes at least 7. Super versatile as well. You can wear this just about anytime. I give this an 8/10

Aaa what a pleasant smell. Bleu Noir EDP was a frag that I was looking to buy for a while based off of YouTuber reviews and to be honest it is better than I anticipated. Now I will say I’ve gotten mixed reactions from this frag after wearing a little bit but I personally think it is very good and smells like a classy clean out of the shower musky fragrance. Although Orange isn’t listed in the official note breakdown it almost kind of has a citrusy touch which I personally enjoy. One last knock I have on it is that it vaguely reminds me of lotion to be honest, I personally like the smell and I don’t think it’s too “lotioney” but I would understand if people wouldn’t be too into that. Overall I have worn this frag a fair bit and it is blind but worthy as I did blind but this 8.2-10

I've said it before, but I really tend to like versatile, year-round scents that can be dressed up or down. This fits that bill perfectly. Very musky on the open, then comes a slight lotion feel with a touch of sweetness. Justin Copeland described the muskiness as "cottony," and I agree. It's smooth and clean. Loosely brings to mind several frags that I see in the "reminds me of" section, especially Chrome but doesn't smell exactly like any of them that I'm familar with. That being said, if you like Chrome, I bet you'll enjoy this too. Like the Parfum version, projection is soft with this one, but I think it fitting. It creates a confident, gentlemanly vibe instead of a insecure, attention-seeking vibe. An instant like for me. Masculine all-arounder that I'm eager to test more.

Handsome, dark haired acquaintance of your father that seemed to always wear a white shirt. Rolled up sleeves, of course. You didn't really know him, it's just a childhood memory, but he was always polite to you, had a great smile and always smelt good. Besides your father, he was THE symbol of what a man should look, act and smell. You know the guy. Bleu noir is exactly that. It has that 'blue' quality, but it's much deeper than that. Musk gives it somewhat of a creamy quality that lurks behind, making it extremely sophisticated. Woods give it that final touch of masculinity. Signature scents are meant to make a long lasting impression of one's individuality. This one does it perfectly. It's mass appealing, yet very unique. Bleu Noir isn't worth remembering - it just is.

Love the scent, it's clean border line shower gel smelling with a little citrusy touch on the opening, not screechy and it's a little bit hard to detect it unless you really pay attention to it. Has a clean type of wood, never smelled ebony in perfumes before (at least not that I knew) and I fell in love with it. The musk base is gorgeous and it's really intense, so.. if you don't like musks you're better staying away from this. I found myself enjoying animal notes such as civet, castoreum and musks.. can't pin point why haha I sprayed this on myself for work around 8 am and Still smelling it strongly at 23pm so I can't understand why people complain so much about performance... Not the loudest scent but you will get a personal bubble and that's enough IMO.

So just a heads up, although Ive had my bottle of NR Bleu Noire edp for a few months, Ive ONLY ever used it 2 maybe 3 times for work which means I definately did NOT "Over-Spray". I havent used it in a while since then bc I have about 100 fragrances, so I rotate a bunch and it being Winter, I havent been using it bc I'mnow using my Fall/Winter frags. Thing is, I used it today and out of curiosity I grabbed an ultra strong flash light to see if I could see through the painted bottle and I could a bit. (A QUARTER OF FRAGRANCE IS GONE!!) My bottle was brand-new when I got it, and again Ive only used it 2 or 3 times so it should t be missing 1/4 bottle, which means it came with a bunch already gone! Anyone else notice this with their bottle? Thats CRAZY AH YO!

As someone who gravitates toward masculine fragrances that are on the sweeter side, Bleu Noir EDP has quickly became a go-to of mine. Very clean musk, some spiciness that has to be cardamom even tho it's not listed, and woods. The Bleu Noir name is very apt; it's definitely safe to wear in the office, yet mysterious and seductive enough to wear out at night. My biggest gripe is the lack of longevity and projection: I feel like I only get 2-3 hours before it's barely there on my skin. I just got a fragrance enhancer (Frequent Flyer ftw), and that has it projecting and lasting more and I'm loving it. Plus the bottle is GORGEOUS in person. I'll have to get my nose on the EDT and Parfum, but I believe the EDP is going to be the one for me. 9/10

I'm wearing it for the first time today and WOW! This to me smells like Bleu de Chanel but without the citrus aspect & a lighter version of it. It reminds me of a masculine, lightly powdered fresh blue scent. I have fallen in love with this scent. I am an over sprayer so like with all my scents 10 sprays min. has lasted me all day. I love that I can smell it around me in the air so that I can enjoy it throughout the day. (I bought the EDP) ***Note: There is a light faint musky scent that some of you are going to pick up on but it works and gives it character. Don't let that hint of musk in the opening scare you. The musk will dry down and just leave a faint trail adding to the awesomeness of this fragrance.

This one really grew on me. It’s very pleasant, wearable just about anytime. A nice masculine scent, but subtle. I get a bit of a citrusy opening (even though no citrus notes are listed), and it’s woody and musky. A linear scent, but it’s not about complexity, just a pleasant wearable scent that makes you feel good because you smell clean and polished. I alternate this with Victor & Rolf’s Spice Bomb Metallic musk, which is, of course spicier, but the musk feel on dry down is similar, with the Narciso version just being more woody (with a little citrus) rather than spicy. Not sure about wearing this on a very hot day, but during spring its an easy grab.

9/10 Fresh clean sexy dry musk with a spicy woody back bone and the smallest hint of sweetness. Almost has a cooling affect on application. I spray the hell out of it and it lasts all day. One of those scents that you can spray away and it doesn't make it smell bad, just lasts longer. This is an anytime anywhere scent. Best in the NR bleu line as the parfum is just IRIS choke hold land. This fits that versatile all around segment in your collection. It takes a few wears to appreciate what this is doing. For a musk focused fragrance this is really good. The price to value for this one is amazing. I bought a 5oz and will back this up soon.

Bit of an odory musk with a handcream blue smell. Best way I can put it. It isn’t like an off putting odor though. Might not be for everyone, but I love it. I’ve put a huge dent in a 5oz bottle. I feel like the performance has improved on the bottle overtime. Not beast mode but not really weak either. I do about 7 sprays. The scent is pretty year round smelling to me. It’s just a sexy out the shower scent that isn’t so fresh it screams summer, but not cloying to where you can’t wear it in hotter weather either. Not sure how long this will be around, but it’s solid. Good evening dumb reach out the shower if you want to smell sexy.

Its a very fresh, masculine, and surprisingly "blue" fragrance (despite the lack of any aqua/marine/oceanic notes). Extremely versatile, clean, and reserved. I can't think of an environment or situation where this would offend or otherwise smell out of place. Scent is very linear so no surprises. Originally picked this up after seeking a reliable year-round frag and testing it at a discounter -- definitely did not disappoint. I originally mentioned bad performance; however, after multiple wears I can say the longevity and silliage is actually pretty great. As strong as the musk is, you get noseblind to it pretty fast.

If Bleu De Chanel, Dior Sauvage, YSL Y EDP and Versace Dylan Blue are the four horsemen of the blue fragrance world This is the underappreciated fifth horseman and for that reason alone, it is my signature for spring summer and versatile wear. It is not popular enough nor mainstream to compare with the other 4 but I will stand by to say, it is better than all 4. This is the one to wear if you’re trying to steal your enemies wife or realistically, trying to find a blue signature that isn’t “like everyone else”, gatekeep this one if you wish. My perfect rating for a blue fragrance, Narciso very underappreciated.

Generally my scent preferences run dark, sharp, or green. Which makes it positively shocking how much I enjoy Bleu Noir EdP. It smells clean without the stridency of aldehydes or citrus and fresh without florals or herbs. It's linearity, longevity, and modest sillage combine to subtly announce its presence anytime your body heat rises throughout the day. The musk is deep, soft, and warm; calling to mind a white Angora sweater with its subtle halo. Its smoothness intrigues me with the absence of easily distinguishable notes, like trying to find the hidden catch on a puzzle box.

It's a blue an modern take on Declaration by Cartier. That's all you need to know. A slightly fresher, rounder, cleaner Declaration with the very characteristic modern tone usually found on Narciso Rodriguez creations. It has an awesome fresh musky fullness that really fills your nostrils as you breathe it in up close, and it just keeps getting better and better as it transitions into its later stages. Very versatile despite being very suis generis, with very decent longevity and projection. And, for what is worth, one of my most complimented scents. 8.75/10

Great everyday masculine but not overbearing blue freshie, that's unique amongst it's competition. Slightly sour bergamot/lime opening followed by soft white musks and powdery woods. Dark blue. Can be dressed up or down and fit essentially any occasion. Performance is moderate, I get about 4-5 hours with 1-2 hours of projection if I overspray. Such an easy grab and go, I went through my bottle quickly. Definitely worth checking out if you want a classy dark blue fragrance that is easy on the nose and mass appealing, as well as versatile.

I personally love it, I can't see why anyone would hate it. Its clean, and its definitely not the typical blue scent. I've never smelt this on anyone else. Lasts a decent while, and is an all around elegant fragrance. Sillage isn't crazy, but that's what I personally really like about this. Pulls a good amount of compliments, and I'd say this really suits any occasion. Elegant suited businessman vibe. Only downside is that it is rather linear - Maybe that is fixed within the parfum version? Haven't tried it yet. Total hidden gem. 10/10.

This was a gift from my wife. It is dark, romantic, and surprisingly versatile. I do prefer wearing this one when I am out for special occasions and dates. I tried wearing it at work twice and found it a bit too powerful for the office. I can still smell it on myself for 6 - 8 hours and I find it to mature quite well on my skin. I love it and my wife loves it. I am surprised this is not getting more attention as I hardly see YouTubers talking about this one. I guess it shows the importance of buying fragances with your nose.

This fragrance will not project much or leave a huge scent trail but it's not trying to do that. This is a musky straight out the shower, clean woody scent that will stay with you all day (7-8hours) albeit sits closer to the skin but can be worn all year round. Perfect for the office or if you just want to wear something without offending everyone with your scent.. Sometimes it's better to be discovered than announced. I think this is a safe fragrance but with any fragrance always sample first.

So this is a blue powdery fragrance with a touch of flowers(Iris?). It's very pleasant and as said already many times a every occasion / year round scent. Strong on the powder which for a short period through out the life of the scent on the skin could give a deodorant vibe smell but that goes away and turns to a smooth powdery wood. A bit aquatic maybe? Anyway this is a very well done - different blue fragrance. If you like this you would like ocean noir my Michael Malul as well. 8.7/10

As disappointing as the longevity and sillage is, the scent is amazing, such a natural, refreshing and masculine scent got ruined by the 1 hour projection, you can smell it from like 5 centimeters maximum after 1 hour of if being on skin, maybe it's just my own experience but i just wish it was stronger, the scent is just magnificent especially for it's price, really recommend to try it but before, i really, REALLY recommend to try how it projects on your skin.

This is a beastmode fragrance with a strong opening and eternal durability through the day with a slight settle in the midrange. With just 4-5 sprays (office) 6-7 sprays (for larger spaces & outdoors) this projects with ease and produces a lingering sillage. The scent is extremely warm and welcoming with very litle change during the drydown when used correctly. Not for use as a daily driver. One of my top ten scents of all time.

uau!!! amazing and cheap fragrance, smells very clean, like clean clothes and fresh of the shower, very very pleasent scent and fresh but still sweet, it really gives you a good mood and feeling, will be my everyday fragrance for sure it lacks a bit of projection, and is bit intimate, but still amazing I used it again, and the drydown is very intimate, but a strong intimite on the skin, amazing drydown too

I can't believe how good this is. I blind bought it because it had good reviews on youtube and it was cheap. But this is amazingly good for such a low price. It's one of the better musk scents, a bit powdery, its very masculine, and I can't explain it but it smells like blue water. It's soapy like clean blue soap. Its like a grown man's blue. It reminds me of Mancera French riviera. but i like this better.

Really clean, deep blue powdery vein that lasts through the top and mid. Cedar is strong at the top but dissipates after dry down. Spices remain pretty strong until dry down as well. There's something about this that reminds me of spicy/woody lotion, and it's a great compliment puller. Great blind buy if a somewhat dense, creamy, woody fragrance is your thing. 5-6 hours of moderate projection.

Wow, this is lovely. It's like a combination of Chrome from many years ago before the reformulations mixed with the EDT version of Bleu Noir. This has great longevity and projection when sprayed on clothing. I did six sprays and I felt like I was radiating all around me. This is a confident and attractive fragrance that feels like a classic 90s scent. Signature scent worthy.

One of my favourites! A classy, clean, musky, sensual masterpiece. I also love the EDT, but the EDP is smoother and has more depth. I wear this year-round, although I avoid extreme heat. But, it works perfectly well for a cool summer night out. I do find the EDT can last a little longer, but performance is very good nonetheless. Scent - 10/10 Performance - 7/10

I can recommend this. Very unique. I have never tried this brand before, but I am impressed. Lasts a long time on skin. No one will smell like you. So unique. I will try to describe it as a fresh sun lotion a like smell. Not really, but it's the best way to describe it. Very "clean". For men & women: This is the first perfume I have marked as unisex.

Very nice scent, reminds me of a double strength CK ONE. I've been wearing this scent for a few days now, quite hot outside ( 90 degrees plus ) and inside of my place of employment. ( 120 degrees plus ) Has lasted around 5-6 hours, with faint whiffs in that last hour. Summer freshness for sure. I may pick up a backup bottle, it's that pleasant.

Fresh, clean, and powdery; like a fabric softener. It's an everyday fragrance that is non-offensive and can be worn on almost any occasion. It may not suit everyone's taste but I think it will definitely get compliments if that's what you're looking for. I really like it. I think women will love it.
