Narciso Rodriguez for Him Musc Santal

Had the chance to try it on today. Lovely stuff as always form Narciso. Starting from the presentation, the bottle looks amazing, elegant and sophisticated. Great wooden cap as well. The scent is elegant, elegant,versatile mature and different direction to most of other brands. I love how Narciso Rodriguez does its own without following trends. However, this is not the For Him from 2007, this is Musc Santal. Id advise everyone who thinks this is the same scent profile to try it before blind buying. Personally I love the scent, it reminds me a lot of Amouage Journey Man. Also the price here in Spain is around 85€- 90€ on discounters, which I find its really good for what it offers. Performance is also good. Above average in comparison with others from the brand. Sillage is more than enough and longevity is long. I ordered a bottle. Once I give it more wears I might come back to the review with feedback. Overall for me, a 4,5/5 :D

It's got a smell of a shaving cream i was addicted to years ago and for me its masculine and the smell takes me back.

Nobody does musk like Narciso Rodriguez. The sandalwood is clean, no pickle smell.

Safe, quiet, pleasant, and different from what's on the market right now. For me, it reminded me of Loewe 001 Man or Prada Iris Cedre/Infuson de Homme first spray. Then it starts to change. Has a bit of that "saltyness" I feel on musc vetiver, but toned down and covered by a powdery sandalwood. Warm and slightly spicy on my nose. I like it on my skin, but hate it on paper... I just purchased this–what handsome scent! A woody, aromatic, musky fragrance in the same vein as Lalique's L'Insoumis and Rochas's L'Homme Aromatic Touch, with the addition of a clean musk in the base. It definitely has a modern fougere vibe and maintain's the signature Narciso Rodriguez composition style. Overall, I am pleased with the fragrance. Performance: 6-7 hours longevity with moderate projection.

Very nice, the most archetypical clean man office linen skin scent ever. Nothing ground breaking but very nice! Longevity is actually pretty good on this one I'm closing in on my 7th hour and I still got it on my skin. Not a screamy scent by any means though. But very solid! If you get this for a good discount it's absolutely a good choice.

musky scent with clary sage giving and herbal animalic tone. A bit of juniper berries in the opening. As Djigoio said, airy, soft, and different from all the new stuff coming out in the past years. Very masculine and versatile but it seems lifeless...

Clean woods and soapy opening, dry down is more musky and powdery. I do smell something similar to cloves in here that type of sweetness, but it resembles the clove smell in Commes de garcons Concrete. Ironically this does have a concrete smell to it

I like it. It has a very nice scent profile and develops nicely. Unfortunately, the sillage is almost nonexistent, and it sits too close to the skin.

A very good clean aesthetic smell. I imagine it with a linen shirt, having a dinner on the beach at sunset.

I found this in a local store, and I’m sorry to let anyone down who thought it was some kind of “back to the roots” For Him EDT, EDP type of scent. This makes sense because there’s no violet leaf in it. The notes on this page are pretty accurate. The opening is nice, cold, sharp, and metallic. After 30 minutes, it settles down to more warm and musky, with a sandalwood touch. It’s a good all-around fragrance, but for me, it’s a pass. It’s just nice and generic, not special enough to justify the price (around 140 USD).

Pleasant, fresh masculine scent that mixes musk and sandalwood in a clean, powdery way. It smells nice, but it’s also a bit generic and boring, and the performance isn’t very good either. 5/10

If it only performed as it smelled... Longevity is non-existent. Smells nice and clean. Eh. Too expensive for 1-2 hours of longevity. Lasts a bit more on clothes. 5.37 / 10

Nothing special to smell here. Woody soapy and light frag for the warmer days.

First impressions. It is really faint. I can smell only light musky woody base. There is some citrusy freshness on top similar to Bleu Noir Parfum, but overall there is nothing distinct to catch your nose on. I honestly have the same issue with all of the NR bottles that don't have its inside painted. Too transparent, soft, uninspiring. I wanted to like them and couldn't wait to try each one when available after release. Always a let down. Original For Him, what a masterpiece. Both EdT and EdP. Bleu Noir before Parfum, nice, clean, musky with touch of blue. After that I just cannot justify the purchase. Maybe a 50 ml of the vetiver musk, because I like the watery aspect and slight resemblence to Declaration d'Un Soir. I hope there comes another release from NR that I will enjoy, because I love the brand.

Most mediocre thing you have smelled 5 billion times on middle-aged balding dads.

Where is the musk? Musc Santal is all about that sawdust note, which is present throughout the fragrance’s wear time and is very reminiscent of the woody note found in Zara’s Wood collection from a few years ago. The fruity-aromatic juniper berry and clary sage notes do most of the heavy lifting here, adding a slight spark of interest. I also get a faint touch of vetiver (similar to its predecessor Vetiver Musc, but only a subtle hint here). The signature NR musk is extremely subdued, lingering in the background to the point of near absence. For a fragrance built around “musc,” it feels strangely restrained. Overall, the feel is very clean, like a non-offensive shaving cream for the modern man glued to his phone, living in a world run by AI, where everything is metallic, grey, and slowly drained of its soul. And yes, it bears no resemblance to original NR For Him EDT. It’s a nice everyday fragrance, but it lacks that extra something that would keep you from blending into the soulless grey background.

Divine! This is from someone who adores elegant, understated, minimalistic scents like Prada Infusion d'Homme, Grey Vetiver by Tom Ford (EDP), Voyage d'Hermes, Dior Higher. Sure, there are many fragrances attempting to pull off a simple, sophisticated elegance. Many might be close to this Narciso Rodriguez formulation. But none that I've sampled do it in quite the same way, with the same balance of notes as this. I bought it to fill a hole left by the inimitable 2007 masterpiece, For Him by Narciso Rodriguez (EDT). Of course this is incomparable, they're very different scents. For right now though, I'm in the honeymoon phase with Musc Santal. I suspect the love will only grow stronger.

This could easily become the reference standard for measuring a perfume's neutrality. It's like faint sandalwood soap residue on your skin in the late afternoon. It's like powdery musk and incense-cone sandalwood are trying to neutralize each other's distinct qualities, self-cancel anything that stands out. What happened to the original Musc For Him? It had the most outstanding performance sonality of them all. The oil version in particular. The pale phone like male model from the ad of the first ever NR For Him already set the key of subdued sensuality to the whole line. Musc Santal gets the same treatment, but it feels much more subdued than sensual.

I got a sample of it today while buying another fragrance. Shop did not have the full bottles yet strangely though. Even though the box says “eau de parfum intense”, it’s not projecting much. (At least on my body) Smells really generic and probably because of the sandalwood. Nothing complex about the scent profile either. Took me back to the early 2000s honestly. Vetiver Musc was also a let down. I really don’t know why they would discontinue such a masterpiece like Narciso Rodriguez for Him EDT and release these basic stuff.

a bit generic.. but you still can find it different from other sweet offerings by YSL, JPG or Rabanne... the Bleu Noir's DNA is still there, was toned down with a touch of powder (not from violet, but like they mix it with Valentino Uomo EDT) slightly fresh, slightly sweet, does not change too much from top to drydown easy to wear and youthful, versatile if you dont have any of Bleu Noir, go grab this, otherwise it is a bit redundant so far Vetiver Musc is still the most unique

This is actually a nice daily wear warm fresh scent . This is perfect for the office or just when you want to warm and clean. The musk is not too deep and really shines in the dry down . If you can wait and find this on discount definitely get . Not full price worthy but it's not the dismal scent everyone below is saying. Creamy, fresh and easy to wear.

I do really like it! Maybe it’s not on the level of the original “for him”, but it’s really nice. I think that it has a kind of vintage vibe, I can smell musk with oakmoss, dry, woody and a little bit sweet. I wish it was stronger...

Let’s hope Musc Santal will be a hit as soon it hits the stores! Anyone notice the grey bottle reminds of the 2007 For Him EDT? Also the fact Musc Santal is the 10th flanker of For Him series !

The collection for him never let me down , I was falling in love with the last release “vetiver musc” , I hope this one can bring some uniqueness out of chaotic & cloning releases these days !

Tested it today. Soft and generic, a bit sweet woody and musk scent. Better that the whole noir blue line but the original for men EDT and EDP are still the best of the best.

Yesssss Narciso going back to his roots!!! I can’t wait to try this, might just blind buy it cuz I still haven’t been disappointed by any release.

Remind me of Wanted Edp with musk added. Not Most Wanted, just Wanted the silver one. It's a mid range freshy, classy but uninteresting

The fragrance is nice, but it is completely not worth the price at all. For this cost, I would never recommend it to anyone.
