Narciso Rodriguez Musc for Her Oil Parfum

Unfortunately Fragrantica doesn't list Abdul Kareem's Egyptian Musc oil or Auric Blend's Egyptian Goddess (also an oil recommended as similar to NR Musc Oil) so I thought I would make a comparison of the three for people looking for a blind buy (essentially my middle name :) ) Narciso Rodriguez musc Oil for her: beautiful. The musc that made me like musks. What distinguishes it from the others is its animalic facets, that keep it from smelling safe and ordinary. It's consistency is that of a thick silicone-like oil, that drips slowy from the opaque bottle. Melts beautifully on the skin, remaining detectable for many hours. It rarely radiates though, just when you think it's gone you catch a whiff of it an wonder who smells so good. It is a sensual smell, clean yet not sterile, with an ever so slightly fecal undertone. It's not the musk you smell in shampoos nor the musk of the 1960s or 70s. It is a modern, even avant garde,erotic scent. I do not fond it similar to the NR EDT really, maybe towards the latter's drydown there are some similarities. Abdul Kareem Egyptian Musc: soft, not animalic in the least, skin hugging white musk. Immediate associations with shampoos and body lotions. I do not find it similar with the NR oil at all. It is a lightweight oil, with very good longevity and soft to moderate sillage. Very similar musk with the one Ava Luxe used in True Bluish Light and Milk. Comforting like a mother's embrace. Auric Blends Egyptian Goddess: I can smell this less than the previous two, and this may have to do with the actual musk molecules and my potential anosmial to them. It is very similar to the Abdul Kareem, perhaps a little bit mpre animalic and interesting, but if you own one you don't really need the other. My favourite of the three is NR Musc Oil, and it's a shame they discontinued it:( Edited to add: I finally tried NR intense, in the somewhat iridescent bottle. YES, this is it! The exact same smell with this oil, but in a convenient spray normal perfume. Soft sillage and moderate longevity but it smells identical on me (btw in the beginning it may be somehow minty or camphorous as some reviewers suggested, but ince it melts on the skin it's just perfect!)

Honeyed, musky, slightly coconutty/tropical white floral, warm gorgeousness on my skin, no head shop oil here! I first sniffed this sensuous concoction on my coworker a few years ago and immediately had to know what she was wearing. I balked at paying so much for one bottle of perfume (being a recent college grad with a low-paying job), so I purchased the original EDT thinking it would be identical. Well, they share some similar notes but they are completely different, in my opinion. It is lovely in its own right, but the mossy and woodsy notes in the EDT get annoying and too masculine for my taste after a while. I simply don't enjoy it as much as the oil. I've only caught a whiff of the oil on others, and to prevent an expensive blind-buy disaster, I decided to test it on my skin. This is heavenly with my chemistry and has skyrocketed to the top of my 'Want' list. There's a reason Narciso Rodriguez brought this discontinued beauty back, and that's due to overwhelming demand. This scent is the business; signature-worthy to a T. Being an oil, the longevity is unbeatable and a dab will do ya; I can't stop smelling my wrists! Emphatic 10/10. I NEED this NOW!

I do love this, probably the best thing I've smelled yet. It is very subtle though, and I'm not a BIG perfume type of gal. After a couple of hours, I'm not sure if I'm still smelling it. But maybe that's the nature of oils and how they stay close to the skin. It's quite expensive and I'm thinking about getting the perfume to layer it when I want more oomph. I got it at Nordstroms, and the sales rep said they just came in a sold out immediately, so she had to order from the San Francisco store. Anyway, that's where it is if you want it! Update about availability: 11/12/13 It wasn't available online, but the tester was available at the physical store, so the SA called another Nordies and had it shipped. When I went to pick it up, there was one was available at the store. So, maybe just this initial release is a little limited. Maybe you can call, if there isn't a store nearby.

It arrived in the morning.i was very curious about this since I own the latest version and the reviewers I like praised this discontinued version so recently I found this and ordered it immediately.its really nice but it's very weak comparing it with the later version.maybe it's my nose the problem.maybe anosmic to this one.still it smells gorgeous but i expected more from an oil version.

This scent is perfection! (the one in black bottle with rose plaque) White flowers with leading note of jasmine and warm, sensual, feminine musks. Very very sexy. Very close to skin and very delicate unfortunately, but this is deceiving, because sometimes, when you've already forgot its there, you get waft of the scent as your body moves - it's very pleasant and unexpected.
