Narciso Rodriguez Musc Oil for Him

Musc for Him was a limited edition oil-based interpretation of the original Musc for Him EDT (not to be confused with Musk for Him) alongside the oil-based version of Musc for Her. Contrary to this Fragrantica entry, both were launched in 2003. Extraordinarily persistent and intense, it has remarkable lift and projection for an oil-based fragrance. At a guess, the "Egyptian musk" of the marketing materials is musk ambrette. Whatever they have used, it is astonishing; as good as the finest musk in my collection direct from Bahrain. Edit: It appears there was a re-release - again as a limited edition - circa 2013. Post-IFRA, I can't say how closely it matched the 2003. This has to be the most expensive bottle in my collection. It was $195 when it launched. I was given a tester from a good friend of mine that demoed for the company. I loved it at the time but could never find the occasion to wear it. Now when i put this on i find it a bit overbearing. Its a masterpiece no doubt but it has to be the right day the right temperature and the right occasion for this to work on me. I love the musky driness of this scent. Hard to tell how much is left in your bottle. Im happy i own this because its a bit of a unicorn in the perfume world. Its literaly an oil you dab on, a little goes a long way.

Well, I was in Rome on December 2012, and I remember that Oil Musc Collection. It was really concentrated, powerful longevity, even more than the eau de parfum version. I did prefer to buy the eau de parfum cause the brazilian weather is such warm, wind, sand, sun, you know...the oil could be a crazy mess... PS This item was added recently to this database.

This is essentially a compact/ more minimalistic, long lasting and dense version of the For Him DNA Kurkdjian created. Wonderful scent , less of the “wet cement” scent from the for him edt and a bit cleaner; the musk is very evident but it’s more polished. Feels very luxurious , from the magnetic flap box to the bottle to of course , the scent.

Simply one of the best kept secrets in the fragrance world. Think of Narciso Rodriguez for Him the original that started it all. What was most beloved about this fragrance? The gorgeous gothic and voluptuous wet violets? Francis Kurkdjian's trademark heavenly cream of the slightly earthy patchouli? The grey concrete musk? The sensual sweetness of the glowing amber? Now imagine that the Egyptian musk grew to a thunderous, yet ethereal backdrop from which larger than life violets draw the wearer in as the amber fills the walls behind him adding a salty sweetness that draws towards the wearer as a shadow towards their footsteps. The patchouli in its creamy state acts as an intoxicating agent whereby the wearer loses their last step and falls into a totality of beauty. A true masterpiece. 10/10 YT: Jess AndWesH
