Narco Oasis

As always when I start a review of a fruity fragrance, I will mention that I rarely like a fragrance that is clearly fruity. Often they are poorly made and the fruit aroma is anything but realistic and delicious. Of course, most fruits have to be made synthetically, but there is a huge difference between how they are made and how the real aroma is imitated. This is one of the best distinctly fruity scents I've ever smelled. It's velvety soft, pampering, thick, and it's sweet but not synthetically sugary or syrupy. This is subjective of course, but it has an incredibly good collection of fruits and all of them are among my favorite notes in fragrances that aren't overtly fruity, but the fruit brings an irresistible sweetness and vibrancy to the scent. Now they all have the same scent, which is a really distinct fruity scent and I love it. If I have to choose which fruits stand out the most, the answer is Passion fruit and Peach. They create a tropical fruity core (Iris and Jasmine of course play an important role, especially technically) around which the fragrance is built. Vanilla blends seamlessly with fruits, softening the sharpness of them and making fruity aroma creamy and rich. Tonka and amber add depth, taking away the transparency and thin watery texture that so often occurs in fruity scents. In my opinion, they smell more like some poorly made body mist or unpleasant hair conditioner. The Sandalwood finishes what the Vanilla started: the richness of the fruit, and it balances out the sweetness, which could be too much if Vanilla alone was adding thickness. The further the scent develops, the more it becomes powdery instead of creamy. It becomes fluffy, cotton candy-like in texture and extremely gentle. To my nose, I don't detect any obvious sugariness throughout the life of the scent, even though it is present in the notes. Still, I want to emphasize that the scent is really sweet. The blend is harmonious, polished until perfection. I always think that fruity scents are not elegant, and they are not formal, serious scents for people working in management positions, for example. This one is not either, but this one is incredibly attractive, addictive and luxurious. It is also not aggressive, so that is why it is perfect for office work. The duration is good, about 7 hours and the scent floats around like a charming cloud, which is not huge, however. The fragrance is also easy to layer thanks to its structure: the dominant fruity accord of the fragrance, along with Vanilla, Sandalwood, amber and musk, goes well with countless scents. This fragrance will take you on a journey, let me tell you. I ordered a 1ml sample from Scent Split and fell in love so I ordered a 5ml. Well, I was saving the 5ml for my honeymoon but couldn't wait to use it so I went ahead and made my most expensive fragrance purchase ever....I got the full bottle on Lucky Scent. Guys, I CANNOT stop smelling this. I think I'm addicted. I've been getting into fragrances more but I'm early in this hobby and this is THE ONE for me. This will be my signature scent moving forward. So let me describe the scent picture for you: You are at a beachside bar, not close enough to the water to smell it but close enough to hear it. The waves are hitting the sand softly as the sun sets and you just received your Rum Punch/Bahama Mama cocktail. The scent of passionfruit, blood orange, and pear fill your nose all at once. The person beside you eats vanilla ice cream for dessert and it slowly wafts toward you underneath the fruity goodness of your drink. As you walk around the beach holding your drink the hint of sandalwood and jasmine twitch at your senses, the juicy fruits of your drink still being the primary scent. If you are a gourmand lover looking for a fruity, tropical scent WITHOUT COCONUT you need this. Do not hesitate, this is your sign to get a sample! Not to mention the sillage and longevity are amazing. For office wear you only need one spray. Actually, I sprayed 1 spray on my office sweater the night before work because I was scared it'd be offensive to some people, and when I was in the office (12+ hours later) someone could still smell my perfume. They said they could smell it around the corner. One spray, guys, one spray. It's just the juiciest fruit punch with brown sugar and vanilla that any gourmand lover will love!!

I am not an advocate for "all things performance" but gotta admit that, either I'm the only one I know who gets okay performance or people were actually exaggerating the performance from this to be super strong. Wonderful, invigorating/happy opening! Smells definitely how I picture a sweet passion fruit chocolate truffle desert, without the added chocolate (think about a thin coating of a white chocolate that almost tastes like vanilla frosting without being overly sweet). Wearability is top notch. Very much a casual wear with added sweet sourness from a fruit like passion fruit, as previously mentioned, with a velvety coat from, likely, the peach. This combo makes it lean unisex to me, aside from the development which does smells a bit more masculine than the opening. Definitely develops into this very wearable vanilla even for the summer - again, not too sweet - now, with it being a quite concentrated extrait, maybe not the best for being exposed to the sun for a lot of time. Performance is where this gets me. I bought it after purchasing a decant - my bottle will likely still mature/oxidize to change this - and kinda disappointed at the performance I'm getting from the bottle. 5-6 hours with moderate initial projection and to a skin scent after around 1.5/2 hours. Smelling it on myself is not happening after that, only up close, so I don't feel perfumed. Cost-benefit makes it overpriced compared to fragrances like Aican from Kajal (whenever you can find it for cheaper haha). Though in a similar profile, they're not redundant, but I wish this would be around $180 instead of $220-280. Excited to try more from the brand, but quality wise, this one is hard to beat!

Fakemink, IYKYK. I'm a middle-aged Gen-Xer mom with 3 teenagers, but I do feel like I am in tune with current culture. One of my teenagers love listening to Underground Rap and has been following Fakemink / 9090gate, and since Narco Oasis was spotted on his IG post, I've gone to our local perfume store to try this. Let me preface by saying this again: I am a middle-aged-young-at-heart Gen-Xer, and I typically don't reach for sweet fruity perfumes because of the age association. However, this one is an exception. Is Narco Oasis a sweet and fruity scent? Yes, it is! But guess what? It's so expertly blended by a master perfumer (no less), Claude Dir, that this is totally an elevated fruity fragrance. There's a bit of an adult boozy edge to this. This takes me back to summers in the French Riviera or in Southern Italian beach resorts, with a cold tropical cocktail version of a Riviera Spritz or a Monaco or a Sgroppino in hand. It is so addicting, especially if you want to bring back memories of carefree and indulgent summers by the beach, filled with parties and all sorts of dangerous liaisons. Who wears this type of perfume? The White Lotus clientele. And Fakemink.

This is a tropical fruity fragrance paired with a strong vanilla smell, similar to a blended tropical drink. It's very unique and combines the fruits with vanilla in a special way almost like the fruits are topped with sugar. This fragrance excels in every category, checking off all the boxes. I wore this today and my friends that also are into fragrances were impressed as the smell was something new to them as well. This may lean semi-feminine, but I think it's fine in the right environment, it's definitely a summertime-forward fragrance, the vanilla and strength could allow for all-year wearability. I love the smell of this fragrance and it makes me think of tropical locations and the passion fruit is done very well. I just purchased this for my dad as a Christmas as we got a free sample of it at Scentroom LA when we purchased SHL God of Fire. I will definitely be sneaking sprays of this whenever I can. Scent: 9.25/10 Good Longevity: 7.5/10 Decent Projection: 7/10 Price: 5/10 $280 for 100ml decent as this fragrance would last forever I wish they offered smaller-sized bottles Final Rating: 9/10

Fragrance Review #2 Narco Oasis opens with this absolutely stunning fruit explosion, I mostly get that blood orange personally. This is genuinely the best smelling fragrance I have ever smelled, it's a very unique, but very mass appealing tropical gourmand. A lot of people say that this fragrance is feminine, but I think this is perfectly uni-sex. The performance is mid, it's not a performance beast by any means, but it's not weak either. decent projection, pretty good silage, and 10-11 hours longevity. (becomes a skin scent around 6-7 hours for me.) Now, this fragrance does retail for 300$ for 100ml, the only size available at the time I'm writing this. I wasn't able to find narco oasis for any cheaper on any discounters. However I believe this is the best smelling fragrance of all time, I think this is well worth your money, and a safe blind buy if you have the money. I genuinely doubt I will ever find something that smells this good again. Overall: 11/10

the most juicy sexy fruit cocktail, wow!! makes me feel like i have a cocktail in one hand, fan in the other, just bathing in the sun on a gorgeous tropical island! (specifically during sunset...) it’s got that slight sun-on-skin vibe, maybe it’s the amber. it's not too fruity, not too screechy, not harsh, everythings just perfectly blended together. it’s beautiful, sweet, feminine, tropical, juicy, hypnotic, the list goes on. also that passionfruit note does not play, the star of the show in this fragrance! it’s so juicy, sweet, and ripe. i need a full bottle asap. the vanilla base too?? crazy. this takes my breath away whenever i smell it, i’m just stood in awe. from the mouth-watering, fruity, juicy burst in the opening all the way to the brown-sugary, creamy, vanilla dry down—it’s perfect. absolutely perfect. longevity is amazing, silage is amazing. no review will ever be able to do this perfume justice, it is just THAT good!

WOW! This perfume is a beast mode for sure, it lasts to the next day. From the initial spray to dry down you get the juicy, happy notes from passion fruit, peach and black current. On the dry down I can smell the vanilla a bit more, but 90% of the perfume is the juicy tropical scent. I’m pretty picky about fruity smells as most of them come across kind of juvenile to me but smell is so addicting. It’s not juvenile, but it would appeal to all ages. If you like fruity tropical perfume this would be a safe blind buy. It’s literally like smelling freshly cut fruits. I only see myself wearing this perfume in the summer, but one of the yummiest perfumes I’ve smelled. I had originally bought El Capitan by Xerjoff but needed up selling it bc it wasn’t very fruity kind of seemed more like a cologne. This perfume what I wanted El Capitan to be.

One of my favorite scents of all time. The initial spray is a gorgeous sweet and fizzy, passion fruit and orange scent. As it dries the fruits fade and it turns into a creamy and decadent sugary vanilla. This scent is eating a crème brûlée and drinking a passion fruit cocktail at a beach resort. So stunning! However, it is rather expensive, and I feel that for its price point it should last longer. Everytime I wear this I spray a decent amount and find it to only last around 4-5 hours. Which is still a decent amount of time but with a large price tag and an extrait label I would expect more. Overall this remains one of my favorite fragrances, I give it an 8/10, if not for the lack luster longevity on my skin chemistry it would be a 10/10.

this smells like a really well-made drink from the bar at a tropical resort, without being overly beachy or synthetic-scented. It’s not your typical “summer” scent as there’s no overt marine/salty freshness, which I typically love but I’m ok missing out on here. You get an initial brown sugar & vanilla syrup smell that’s sweet but not cloying. And the passionfruit! it’s so recognizable, but like real passionfruit, not artificial at all. I think the blood orange is also very vivid and a great choice for a citrus note. The longer you wear it, the more you get amber & sandalwood which does make it a touch more unisex/masculine, but for the most part this feels more like a feminine scent.

I don't normally like sweet perfumes. People say this is sweet - maybe. But the sweetness is so well blended and so well balanced that it just makes sense. And the fragrance is more complex than the usual gourmands. I imagine being on a beach, drinking a pornstar martini on a wooden bench in full sunlight, the sweet smell of wood lifting in the air. The smell stays close to the skin in the last hours but I still feel it 8-9h after applying which, for the perfume category, is good enough for me. Difficult to find though, in Europe at least. Today I used it on top of Gioiosa Profumum Roma and it helped it be even more creamier. Also on clothes it ages sweeter than on (my) skin.

Sweet, sweet! But lovely. The passionfruit is very present to me, but there's a fleshy peach in there to keep it from being too sharp. I also get blackcurrant, with its inky, underripe berry scent. For me, these fruity notes don't dissipate, but instead linger for hours overtop a powdery-musky vanilla base. I don't normally enjoy tropical scents, but I'm adding this one to my collection. I live in Florida, so I'm sure I'll find opportunities to reach for this lightweight tropical gourmand! Like Liis, Narcotica is shaping up to be a great house for me, as a lover of light scents!

I loved this perfume so so much it smells amazing it is so fruity juicy but the longevity is so bad it lasts max 2 hours on my skin and clothes. It’s definitely worth the price for the smell but the longevity is definitely not worth the price at all which made me super sad I would absolutely buy this one if it lasted at least 4 hours but having to re spray it every couple hours for the high price you pay is definitely not worth it. Super sad because it smells amazing and is such a great summer scent!

I’m soooo looking forward to wearing this one when the weather gets warmer. On initial spray it’s so vibrant and fun, while still smelling sophisticated. Definitely a daytime scent. It doesn’t last ALL day on me, but I’m okay with that because the dry down is a fabulous vanilla that works soooo perfectly to layer on a different scent for more of an evening or nighttime vibe. I like to wear Narco Oasis during the day and then Miami Nectar in the evening, which layers fabulously together.

I typically feel meh towards fruity perfumes and have a hard time getting excited (with the exception of Mango Skin and a couple others) I smelled a sample of this and I immediately bought a full bottle. The passion fruit opening is super juicy and bright, and the whole composition is so yummy. I couldn’t resist. I thought the smell was gone in a few hours but I smelled my T-shirt the following day and it was still definitely there.

The only time I get passionfruit is in the very beginning, and it’s really well done. A lot of people are comparing it to power of you, but I don’t feel that way, power of you is polarizing it can turn bad fast. This one is the most stunningly blended juicy pear, vanilla, with a soft sweet woody musk dry down that still holds onto that pear note. It’s a love for me. But definitely sample first.

Sweet, very realistic passion fruit and black currant opening, a pleasant tropical experience start to finish that performs like an EDT. It's beautiful all around but I can't say it's worth the price but that's entirely subjective for some. So, I'd say if you like tropical fruity scents, give this a go. 7/10 scent Purchased from: Parfums De France

Like if someone extracted all the tart passionfruit juice & poured a ton of brown sugar in it, so much so that you cannot taste any tartness. They then added vanilla extract. This is a pretty use of passionfruit that actually uses its sweetened smell as its strength as opposed to its tartness. Unique. If you don’t like powder, this isn’t safe.

Troical sweet scent.. more fruity than floral. Its bright and happy and brings a smile when worn. Strong sillage but doesnt last long - couple hours, three ..? (i might just be anosmic after a while though since one of my friends I was talking to at the 6th hour was saying I smelled so good) . It was a blind buy which Im very glad I did !

This perfume was so unexpectedly nostalgic for me; something in it reminded me of that twisted sista curl cream at first but was more fruity and had more depth. Very moderate perfume when it comes to how long it lasts and projects, but I feel that is perfect for summer scents, so they aren't so cloying under that aggressive heat.
