Black Afgano

There are certain moments in any fragrance collector's journey that feel significant in some way, and the moment you try Black Afgano in earnest for the first time is one of them. For the benefit of those who don't know, Nasomatto’s seminal black potion has a cult following and an extreme reputation. It is considered to be a dark overlord of a fragrance; brutal, omnipotent and pretty much immortal. It is also probably the best known of all fragrances that have a cannabis/"weed" accord in. Most of these sorts of fragrances are considered by many to be gimmicky attention seekers and honestly, I'd felt that Black Afgano came under this category in the past. At the risk of sounding a bit hipster and contrarian, I think Black Afgano gets a bad rep. It isn't an evil overlord, it isnt a silly gimmick and (if you'll pardon my double negative) isn't an unwearable, antisocial mess. What we have here is a surprisingly refined and very well balanced potion that is undeniably strong but not overwhelmingly so as long as you treat with respect. The weed accord is redolent of the squidgy black resin of yesteryear rather than the dank, genertically modified greenery we experience these days and it melds very nicely with the incense and saffron to take the opening notes sweeter than you might expect. The body notes are very fine indeed and it is only once you see past the weed in the opening that you really see this one shine. The spices and amber in the mids are really, really good. It still centres on the intense incense but it never goes too sweet or too resinous. The weed is complimentary but not too strong at all and - importantly - doesn't distract or subvert really. I am glad it is there but I am glad it isn't stronger. The base notes are basically as woody and dense as you would expect but the balsam works with the greenery and herbs to make it fresher than it seems. It is really very well judged indeed. It is incredibly strong. There is no getting round that. It is Interlude Black Iris plus plus sort of heavy and most people wouldn't be able to wear this even if they wanted to. It is not immortal but it will stay with you for 24 hours without any trouble. I cannot tell you how it goes on clothes as I've not been brave enough to do it, as I have a feeling it is going to become a permeant, permanent fixture on clothes. The drydown is just a play on incense. It goes from green to resinous to sweet to woody and is very enjoyable. The amber and balsamic textures get stronger as it dries down and it is a thoroughly absorbing wear as a result. The hyperbole of this scent from many seems rather daft and I think largely undeserved. A bit of attention seeking going on there, I'd say. I'd suggest its reputation probably comes from inexperienced people who do not know how to use perfumes like this, rather than from the juice itself. Or, to put it another way: overspraying this is something you likely will only ever do once. One on the chest and a tiny single spritz on your wrists will more than suffice. Any more than this is too much and detracts from what the fragrance is all about. Something more on the wearability here. It is fabulously unisex but is a niche scent for niche nights. Wearing this to the office or to a brunch would be a bit silly. Modern art gallery? Pitch black Berlin techno all nighter? Yes, indeed. It is a formal, wearable fragrance as long as you don't overspray it. Ive seen criticism of Nassomato fragrances as being high priced for such tiny bottles but I am forced to ask - if one wear is one spray, two at absolute most, and you are wearing this even once a month, then why on earth do you need a 100ml bottle that will take milennia to use up? the 30ml bottle - beautifully presented with that fantastic textured cap - is an informative gentle hint on how this wonderful potion is supposed to be experienced. This should carry one of those warnings like you get on booze advertising - "Your friends at Nasomatto remind you to enjoy this fragrance responsibly." There is a delicious irony to this being something you need to enjoy responsibly, referencing an oblique nod to university days of irresponsible living with its best known accord. It sort of makes me wonder what a Nassomato fragrance themed around flaming sambuca shots and casual sex with people you don't know the names of, might smell like. It certainly would be on trend these days. But is this art? It is fragrances like this that turn people who like fragrances into genuine collectors, real dyed-in-the-wool fragrance enthusiasts because they transcend "putting something on to smell nice" and move into a requirement to think clearly about what you are smelling and force you to have an opinion on it as well. Nasomatto are a provocative house that typify the notion of art-as-a-fragrance/fragrance-as-an-art better than almost any, and Black Afgano embodies that perfectly. It is wearable art. It isnt supposed to be a crowd pleasing "panty dropper". It is supposed to be something that makes you think, experience things in different levels and ask questions of yourself. Black Afgano, a fragrance with a reputation that proceeds itself. Dark, brooding, menacing, "gothic", scary... If you listen to some of the reviews you'd believe that Black Afgano was the Devil's signature scent. While Black Afgano certainly is dark and heavy I don't personally find it scary or brooding. I certainly do NOT find Black Afgano to be haunting. There are fragrances that I believe live in that spooky world, B.A. is not one of them. With all of that being said, is Black Afgano a good fragrance? How does it smell? Like I mentioned previously Black Afgano IS dark and heavy, in a very herbal and green way on the opening. It's not a blast of marijuana that I get, contrary to urban legend, BUT a blast of the inside of the headshops of my teenage years. Remember those hole in the wall stores we used to have to visit to buy rolling papers, bongs, salvia, kratom, baja sweaters, and posters?? That's how Black Afgano opens. Nearly identical to my nose. It's NOT Nag Champa it's the photorealistic smell of old headshops. I love the nostalgia. After drying down Black Afgano settles down into a woody and smokey slightly spicy black green scent. I definitely get some Middle Eastern influence but I wouldn't describe it as a "middle eastern profile". Gualtieri certainly pulls from MENA perfumery but to my nose this is very much a "Western" style perfume. The inspiration for Black Afgano is hashish, and while the opening blasts me with the scent of a headshops, it's actually in the finish product on skin where I really sense the inspiration. It's a dark green, almost black, herbal smoke that sits beautiful on skin and wafts around the body. Black Afgano is a fragrance that at no point replicates a photorealistic scent of hashish BUT perfectly allows the wearer to sink into the warm, comfortable, flavourful, and hazy mood that hashish often facilitates for many. Black Afgano definitely shines in colder weather and will "fit in" best as a night time fragrance although it's great to wear on cold days where offices are not visited and consideration is not required. You could spray Black Afgano on at 3PM before going out, come home at 2AM and you'd wake catching whiffs the next morning easily. Longevity and sillage is not a concern but it's neither are obnoxious or overbearing here. In summary, Black Afgano is a lot like some of our favorite and most memorable heavy metal albums that were subject to the Satanic Panic of the 80s. It's big, it's bad, it's certainly not your grandma's perfume BUT is it evil? Is Black Afgano in league with Satan?! Absolutely not. My Take on Black Afgano This is a masterpiece that deserves respect. All these years have passed, and it still shines. It’s an extremely complex perfume with no end. It smells dark, sexy, and ritualistic. From my understanding, this perfume is inspired by hashish, but I get more of an impression of charas. Charas smells fresher and greener than hashish, while hashish is more earthy. Right from the opening, I detect a cannabis note that adds a fresh, slightly pungent green nuance. Davana brings a hint of bitterness, while saffron offers this bittersweet smell with a slight metallic or cold edge that’s hard to describe. Then you have resins and cinnamon although I don’t detect the cinnamon as much. Tobacco adds a warm aroma that beautifully complements the saffron. There’s also a hefty dose of resins, which can come across as warm and spicy. I get that warmth combined with the tobacco, amber, and resins. Violet adds a subtle powdery feeling to it. The incense is constantly present, but it’s not the type that blows your head off it’s lighter, almost meditative. I also get a touch of oud, but it stays underneath everything.It’s detectable yet never in your face. Musk is there as well. Lately, I’ve been picking up on the coffee note more clearly. I won’t mention every single note because these are the ones I predominantly smell. Together, everything gives off this charas like aroma that, mixed with the incense, is almost hypnotic. It’s truly a masterpiece. Alessandro Gualtieri is a genius. I do love his creations, so I am quite biased. My favorite from him is Cuoium, so there isn’t much more to say. I feel like Black Afgano is much safer these days compared to the past, simply because there are so many niche houses around now, and it doesn’t feel as challenging. To me, it’s not challenging whatsoever. But it’s definitely not for everyone.

I have been waiting a long time to get this. This isn't the crazy, wild card as many portray; It presents itself as a Joker, but this is a well-blended form of leather/tobacco feeling scent, with two main notes: the sweet part of the hashish when is burned, which is very present, and the same note on a lower scale, akin to some sort of black ink (which is probably the oud). It is as good as many already said, however what is very peculiar of this scent is that i personally know all these elements on their own, and it never crossed my mind one time that this was going to work, as i think it takes lot of know-how to come up with this formulala, not only is genius, but is also very elegant, rock solid, deep and dark all at the same time, a very good serious man or women fragrance, to me is clearly for man, but this can easily work with a strong women too, would be perfect with a black or leather mixed suit, it smells like someone you don't want to mess with, Black Afgano isnt playing any games, is present and is aware of his sorroundings, is almost like a schield of a dark knight if you want. The performance was something special, it goes from the opening to the end as a perfect scent should be, dense, and light when is needed, strong on you, but airy and intriguing in the air, there is no way someone would not realise you are wearing it, this is how most scents should be as functionality, each step of the evolution is special, last forever on clothes and becomes even more cool as loses all the darkness. Master of dark scents.

What a complex perfume I must say... I had the opportunity to try both of Alessandro Gualtieri's creations Black Afgano and Terroni and I found both to be "brother & sister". Let me explain: Black Afgano is a wonderful perfume, in my opinion. It opens with a powerful note of cannabis not made for everybody, it might be perceived pungent at the beginning for those not used to such smell. After it dried on my skin, and waited about 5 min. I perceived the smell of hashish, very particular and dry. A touch of sweetness was perceived but after 20 min or so, just a hint. Like pouring liquor to a drunken person, drop by drop letting him know there is going to be more... after, the animalic notes started to appear mixed with the still persistent and opulent smell of hashish. After 2h all the notes were mixed beautifuly with the tonka bean note and it became this unique, woody, resinous and even creamy experience on my right hand's skin. Black Afgano is the perfume of Power. Not a powerful person, like millionaire, no. The kind of power that comes from owning the darkest corners of the mind. Now, Terroni... well, I had it sprayed on my left hand and I can tell you they smell incredibly similar at the beginning and for most of the time with the woody/dry profile with the difference that Terroni has more raspberry giving it a delicious fruity olfactory profile. This is so much more then the smell of cannabis. This is the best interprention of hashish I ́ve ever smelled, even better then most types of real cannabis I think. ;) This is the smell of a cool night, with a sky filled with stars, in the Afghan mountains. You sit around a campfire and there ́s that pipe going around... The smoke make you feel relaxed and content. Somebody starts telling a true story about his grand fathers adventures in the mountains. One of the best olfactory trips I ́ve encountered. Smell of high quality hashish, light smoke, warm wood, also notes of both sweet and brisk character. A very complex and strange perfume. It make my imagination running wild, even tough I ́m not totally comfortable with it. I have problems with smoky and brisk notes, even tough Black Afghano is not as big problem for me to wear as some other smoky/brisk perfumes I ́ve tried. It have similarities to Serge Lutens Serge Noire, but is more wearable on me, but as complex and masterly done. A must try for both man and women that know they can carry of really smoky and brisk kind of perfumes. Also a must try for everyone liking strange olfactory trips! For the right person worth every penny even tough it ́s an expensive perfume! Longlasting, two drops goes a looong way, excellent sillage, be careful so people don ́t think you actually have smoked some really good sh*t!

Black Afgano is not a casual fragrance for me at all; it’s dark, dense and demanding from the very first spray. The opening hits with thick smoky woods, hashish-like green notes and heavy resins that almost feel like a wall in front of your face. After a while it calms into a blend of oud, incense, coffee-like bitterness and a hidden sweetness that keeps pulling you back in. It’s more of an atmosphere than a “nice scent”, almost like walking into a dim, smoky room with leather chairs and silence. I had a 3 ml tester bottle and it lasted me almost two years, simply because I rarely wore it and only reached for it when I was in the right mood. I once oversprayed it in summer before going to a club and it was honestly too much; I could feel a whole aura around me, like a cloud following every step, and you could tell people noticed the scent the moment I walked past. That experience really showed me how strong and dominating this fragrance is if you treat it like a normal designer. Since then I keep it to one, maybe two sprays max, and only in cooler weather or at night. Used that way it feels like a dark, meditative statement: bold, a bit intimidating, but unforgettable. I like it a lot because it’s unlike anything I’ve ever smelled before, almost more of an olfactory experience than just a perfume, and easily one of the most powerful scents i ever tried.

I have to pay a lot of respect to this one, I really REALLY do -- it was my gateway into mainstream niche, and from there, I burrowed deeper and deeper and got to where I got to. I would be INCREDIBLY surprised if there was ANYTHING remotely biological, nature or non-aromachemical in this. It's all synth woods, synth musk and synth funk. Ambretollide, haltotide and a few other aromachemicals I once tried out 8 years ago -- and who cares? It doesn't need to be natural, not even ONE bit needs to be natural. These days, I don't reach for this anywhere near as much as I used to, a lot more other scents have come and usurped it, and truth be told, it is rather basic and doesn't have an many moving parts as these 'other' scents, but it is still an entry point, and for many, a reference point. A north star, an identifiable scent we ALL know. But for me, the fact remains that a LOT of what's going on here is bloated, not subtle, little to no nuance and VERY LITTLE restraint, and that's what we love about it the most -- how bombastic it is, how brutal and how little 'chill' this scent has. I have this, and a few other version AG has made, but the point remains, this is seminal in the whole niche world, and even though I now have the ability to see how unrefined and crude it can it, without this, I wouldn't have experienced what I experienced...

Bought this infamous fragrance because I was so courious I couldnt sleep. Wanted to know if rumors and reviews are true. Yes, they are. I have never smelled anything like this. Its so dark and deep I cant even compare. Smells like the priest from the exorcist would wear it. Smells like opening an antique chest of drawers full of cursed items used by a cult. Smells like how I imagine the hardest black metal bands backstage. Smells scary. Smells like the darkest underground techno club. Smells stunning. Smell is like you have to remember to close your mouth because it is open when trying for the first time guaranteed. Smells like apocalypse, straight outta Johns visions stuff. Smells like a haunted tree with a body hanging from its branch. Smells like a vivid nightmare. Smells like a portal to the otherworld. Smells like an LSD trip at night in a cemetery. Smells like an empty grave from inside. Smells like the only person you fear. Smells like reading ancient religious texts in arami. Unisex? Maybe. Im not sure what kind of occasion it is appropriate to wear. Not for daylight office or school stuff for sure. Treat it with respect. Woah. 11/10

As of this review, 171 people have this as their signature and 115 are wearing. Over 11,000 votes. I bought Blend Afgano first to sample. It is in the ballpark and certainly reminds me of a few facets here. Not as rich or potent. However, for the price.... This is currently the most expensive fragrances per ounce that I have purchased. It's absolutely fantastic. Is it worth the price point? I suppose, because like many others, I bought it. There is a valid reason for it. I came across a capped sample of this that was seemingly empty. No sprays left to give. However, when you remove that cap, a wonderful aroma still existed. It has been like that for nearly a year. Anytime I take the cap off, still there. So, I had to have it. Surprisingly, my wife likes this. The first words were, it's sweet. I saw a previous review about sweetened pool floaties and I can't disagree. But in a good way. A sweet resinous, ambery, green. It is a favorite of mine and will remain until its gone or supplanted by something else. Probably won't repurchase unless I get it at a discount.

Nasomatto - Black Afgano - 2009 What a perfume... created by Alessandro Gualtieri and Arturetto Landi! Those who are passionate about the world of perfumery and the insides or secrets of perfume houses, know that Alessadro created his perfumes in a duo co-creation with the talented and experienced Italian perfumer Arturetto Landi. Coming back to BA, I have nothing to add to what has already been written! It is an ode to the smell of hashish, rendered through many resins, balsams and sweet smoky accords! The notes are not listed but we certainly have an overdose of Cashmeran, Amberwoods, Iso E Super and Javanol, the house's specific cocktail! The green, slightly vegetal and fine animalic accord of the perfume is something of a dream and totally innovative for the moment of its appearance on the market! I confess that I love this composition, although it has been copied and re-copied to the hilt by other houses, the original DNA of Black Afgano remains a landmark in niche perfumery, being one of the most daring approaches!

As a fan of dark, dank and heavy smells this is about as cool and good as it gets. This reminds me of the smell and feeling of a well smoked in hashish-room that I may or may not have visited once or twice upon a day in my youth. Not cannabis, that green oh-so-easily distinguished smell. No, this is more resinous hashish smoked and covered up by incense in wooden boxes and carpets on the walls for whatever funky reason they’re there. There is some sort of funky freshness that lifts the entire concoction up from just being a dank cloying smell to linger above the realm of unbearably dark and actually being highly enjoyable. It’s one of the few perfumes I’ve owned that i can smell throughout the day as it makes itself known to me in whiffs without being overpowering to those around me. Oddly enough after that description I very much enjoy both the smell of this and smelling like this — i really, really like it. And for whatever reason my wife and kids really enjoy it too which I was not anticipating at all.

This might be a lifestyle scent. That is to say, it creates a stark point of context with respect to every other facet of one's personal presentation, and the experience Black Afgano facilitates is markedly different under different lights. Bitter herbs and salt up top, somewhat oceanic and lasting a few hours. The dry down (many hours later) is slightly softer, somewhat powdery, and emphasises a licorice aspect. Leather and wood throughout. You will like this if you drink black coffee. It is somehow both damp and dry. You will like this if you wear leather. It is dark and significant. If you regularly smoke weed, you might not catch the hash nuances. It is not like burned herb but rather unburned resin. It may smell out of place if you don't take yourself seriously. It may smell performative if you take yourself too seriously. It is definitively complex, and I would argue one of the most dynamic scents I have come across. Truly I find it artful and a masterwork of blending. Also, my cats really like it.

By cost per milliliter, it is the most expensive perfume I own. It is one of my favorites, but remains unsuitable for almost everyone. If numbers mattered, perhaps 20-30 thousand people worldwide would ever choose to wear it. The rest should stay clear. No one will like you because of this scent. Worn carelessly i.e. in a car, on a date, in any professional environment, or anywhere cooperation is required; it will work against you. You must choose moments where it can do the least damage. This is not a social instrument. This is not a fragrance for the room. It is not a fragrance for approval. It is something you wear when you don’t need agreement, only alignment. And if that sounds unnecessary or severe, that’s the clearest sign it was never meant for you. If the situation requires: likability cooperation intimacy enclosed space social ease Do not wear it. Black Afgano is not seasonal or diurnal in the usual sense. It is conditional.

It’s a nice earthy, damp, sweet perfume, but a tad bit overrated honestly. I love Nasomatto and all things Alessandro Gualtieri but this is not anything that reviewers from Perfume community makes it. First of all there is no Hashish note anywhere to be found throughout the whole wear. It’s a green damp earthy note backed up by amber and a bit of smoke. It is like you are in the heart of the Amazon forest and your smelling senses are amped up 2-3 times and you smell all the fresh trees, weed leaves and earthy dampness after heavy rain and you are having a bonfire nearby those trees. This is deep, dark, dry sweetness. The smokey note in this is very beautiful but you have to touch your nose to your skin where the perfume is applied to smell that smokiness. This is good stuff but not a masterpiece like Baraonda. Scent 8/10 Longevity 8.5/10 Sillage 9/10 Bottle 100/100 Price 7/10 Uniqueness 9/10

finally got myself to repurchase this, because, i must say, it's quite fitting for me. noire in it's final stage. so, once again, picture this: 2 A.M., small town. Getting high behind an old, abandoned cathedral, the wooden structure of which has absorbed so much incense smoke, that you can still smell it right now. Through that smoke, your hallucinations begin to twist into the faces of past visitors, the voices of past choir singers, the tragedies hidden behind burned velvet curtains. They're not really there. But you are. You're still there. Always still there. And so is the pale figure that you saw the next morning when you passed by. Still there. Now, the hallucinations you had? They're not hallucinations. They're only fading memories. They're a rotting dream. An ethereal, fragile experience in torn black silk. Just like you. (TL;DR: read the last line. basically.)

so i was just spraying this stuff, right? pretty nice, very close to the dupe i blind bought for like 5 bucks which surprised me, then suddenly? this EVIL foid employee walks up to me and says "sir, you can't smell the fragrance from the bottle. please spray it once on paper or else it smells like alcohol." so naturally, overcome by the ultra niche i had sprayed on like 50 times without her seeing's civet and oud notes took over and i bit into her arm. she said "sir, please do not bite me, its against store policy." and bear maced me which calmed me down and i left calmly after smelling nishane ani but not before chinning a random employee uninvolved in the incident. statement of the day: a book store leaves it's books outside because the reader does not steal and the thief does not read. fact of the day: feet are pretty hot. thanks for reading guys.

Black Afgano smells like Che Guevara at night, in the jungle, with his shirt wet, his beard smoked, and a warm revolver at his belt. Thick smoke. Burnt wood. Black resin. Bitter tobacco. Wet earth. Grass crushed under boots. Badly boiled coffee, drunk without sugar before the march. At first, it hits like the air inside a shack where little sleep was had and too much was decided. It is dark, medicinal, dry, almost dangerous. Like alcohol on a wound. Like the old leather of a military belt. Like smoke trapped in clothes after a night without a big fire, only hidden embers. Then it becomes warmer. Deeper. More human. Under the darkness, something alive appears. Sap, sweat, warmed earth, damp wood. It doesn’t smell like victory. It smells like the road to victory. This is what an idea smells like before it becomes a statue. Smoke, cold blood, will.

Reviewing a sample from 2024. Black Afgano was launched in 2009. Described as a woody aromatic fragrance but it is so much more. It opens with a short quick waft of medicinal disinfectant then davana , resins and tobacco smoke. Hesitant florals ( I too would be afraid) and spices round out any sharpness. Aromatic woods and incense support the longevity along with a persistent green note. Perfect blending of difficult notes. To imagine it better consider the result of Encre Noire and the original Squid ( 2019) having a baby. This is the inkiest of them all. Rich ,dark, mysterious and strangely compelling. Quality excellent 5/5 Unisex Performance- excellent 5/5 Experiencing this is a must for anyone interested in fragrance. Revolutionary for it's time. Surprisingly wearable and dare I say even beautiful. 10/10

A dark, complex mature scent that evokes a sense of primal mystery, intrigue and a resinous shadows over the wearer. Nothing is accidental, with each note emerging as if summoned rather than composed. Cannabis, saffron, berries and tobacco alchemize masterfully to present a raw arcane mana. The oud is strikingly photorealistic. Not polished, not softened, but edgy and almost confrontational. while incense smoke swirls upwards only to be cut by savage animalic screams. Be warned, this will polarize, so should only be worn by those with the confidence (and already initiated into the dark arts) There is an eclectic presence to Black Afgano; part shaman, part deceiver. A devil in disguise that does not seek validation but demands transformation. And it only fades when it is ready to.

I lived in Saudi Arabia for 12 years as a child and this is a fragrance I had been searching for so long. As soon as I smelled it the nostalgia it bought back was of Arab, Mosque, Desert, Sand, Toab (arabian dress). You know it's an eastern fragrance as soon as the "oud" hits you. I will disagree with majority of the critics here who say it's a winter fragrance. I believe it works even better in the summer. I've smelled it in deserts of Arabia and it fits the climate so well. The greens hit you like an Oasis amidst sand dunes. Yes it's dark and heavy for the winter, but I believe maybe it's a bit too dark and too heavy for the cold. If anything it has a "religious" vibe to it. "Religiously Oud" and heavenly, is how I must put it.

Hashish actually has a lot of nuance. It can smell floral and resinous, but often smells like potent Marijuana. I don't smoke it anymore and haven't for many years, but once in the mid 90's, my friend brought back some thin plates of hash from Italy. It was the most beautifully fragrant thing and I remember my friends and I were astonished at how wonderful it smelled before and after burn. Truly like a perfume that could be worn. I believe that is what Alessandro was trying to capture here. He is Italian, and I bet he had access to this same hashish in Italy, that I experienced 32 years ago. I have never smelled anything like it since then, but black afgano reminds me of it.

Black afgano never smelled "green" to me, but rather leathery(dark black spray polished leather), inky, resinous, cinnamon like, burned, cypriol heavy and woody. The green note at the start blends well with the dark/resinous notes and gives a brightness and character to the darker notes and makes the scent very addictive to me. As it dries down it gets more creamy woody with a slight hint of tonka sweetness. Used to hate the scent, but nowadays I love it, i find the scent meditative and calming. taste really do change after all. Also if you like this scent, I would say you would like silver oud from amouage too, give that one a try imo.

I think you will like this one if you are a resin lover. The resin and amber radiates from your body with warmth at the 20-30 minute mark. If you press it up to your nose of course you can smell other notes like animal funk but otherwise it projects woods and resins and dark tonka like structures. That is want i want. I want to be a walking tonka bean. This fits my scent profile to a T. It is a dark smell that is softer around the edges. No flowers or black peppers but it does fill a room. Very complimentary scent for a smoker. No canabis scent. Leather scent up close. Dry down resin city, skin smell. Nice and dirty. The way I like.

Love this stuff. Does it get worn alot? No. Does it feel great when it does get worn? Hell yeah. If you're familiar with hashish (as the name suggests - black afghan hash is famous in the pothead community) this will remind of the sticky black stuff. The oud and the molasses type smooth sweetness is so comforting and addictive in summer. The oud is of the funky type. Old school Arabic stylem It's not for everyone or for the 'sexy' boys. My bottle is surprisingly smooth and not a crazy projector. I wear this for me and the way it makes me feel rather than for compliments or to 'smell good'

This is great. It's much more wearable than I thought it would be, while still having a unique DNA. The cannabis note is used well -- just enough to give it a touch of skunkiness without being too offensive -- and the use of animalic notes is probably the best I've smelled in a fragrance. There is also a hint of coffee sweetness that reminds me of Kilian's Black Phantom. After a few hours on my skin, this slightly unpleasant powdery/stale note comes out, but it goes away further into the dry down. Overall it's a dark, brooding, and seductive fragrance that can actually be worn.

this is such a good fucking fragrance on my skin it develop into this amber Oud cannabis kinda smell which is very addicting and i smelled it like 2 days ago on a store and i really loved it after it developed and stayed on clothes for long time even though it was 1 spray, such a sweet warm dark addicting fragrance i bought it i'm just thinking about how good it will become in next winter. and its such a intriguing smell that you barely smell on someone else. its like a warm rainy day by a fireplace or a wood where flowers and cannabis are present.

Got to try this on paper and on skin in a store yesterday and knew I would have to come back for it eventually. It's a shame the bottle is so small but one spray will truly do it with this juice. Sultry colored liquid in an attractive bottle. I applied one spray to my wrist yesterday around 3 pm, and even after sleeping and showering I can still faintly smell it at 10:42 am. Exactly the kind of going out fragrance I've been looking for, and I tried this on a hot humid day. Mark my words I will be back when I can try this in the cold.

I never would have guessed this fragrance was so popular. And perceived mostly as masculine (I only know women who wear it, me being one of them). I would say it is unisex, slightly female leaning (but more mature, not for kids). It is dark, sticky and sweet. Incense, hash, resins, sweetness. Warmth! I feel like my skin becomes ember. Nauseating in the morning, made that mistake once or twice. I am not a fan of cannabis smell but here it fits perfectly. It's super long lasting with strong sillage. And thank god for a 30 ml bottle!

I didn't smell an ounce of cannabis in this haha, but I do get that it's the green notes that give off the cannabis-vibe. The first thing that this reminded me of is – just like the cap suggests – charcoal. Like, beech, or oak that's been lit or completely burnt. It's very distinctive, it's an experience in a bottle. I could smell the raspberry note along that smokey wood and I loved it. Very well put–together fragrance with a pleasant, sexy dry down. Something I would love to smell on a man.

Green opening, incense-y, woody and a bit sweet. I bought one because I'm curious about the cannabis note. I have never smelled one before. Amber is more prominent and reminds me of sawing fragrant woods during my high school woodworking class (good ol' days). It leans more masculine but it's wearable for both genders. It definitely has a gasoline vibes to it, I'm guessing that's the weed thing going on. This is my first kinda niche, I like it it's intriguing. Also super strong!

First impression, smells like sweet plastic pool floaties with light resin and incense undertones. It is not bad at all. Very unique as far as a perfume goes but definitely does not smell like cannabis on my skin at all. Infact it's much sweeter than I thought. Oooo came back to edit after an hour. I love what it turned into! Straight animal notes, smokey resin and a bit of a bitter green note I'm assuming is the cannabis? It's so sexy Im obsessed!

Nasomatto is one of my favourite brands. I have almost all the collection. This is in my opinion one of the best product when it comes to Amber. If you love Amber, like me, or if it is your first time, and you are learning about different odour this is one of the best example of Amber. Everything on this is a 10. Projection, longevity, and price/ml. It can be worn of both gents and ladies. 10/10. This one is one of the few I've given 10 of 10.

Rather than the below uninformative review, I find this perfume to be a dense one, mossy and is perhaps why its not sticking out as much as you would like, it fits within the dark and mysterious without being nose turning, is a fantastic bridge into Nasomatto I find it Davinia heavy as comes across dark forest over any cannabis to me, the scent lurks dense around you not a beast more room filler an artisanal fragrance with a purpose

This smells like a ritual deep in the forest with witches dancing around a fire smoking hash with oud chips smouldering while ivixor b / phase inducer by electric wizard plays. This is burning incence in the catacombs as you light your hash an absolute masterpiece everything I wanted in a fragrance has me feeling like wizard and im all for that this is how Anton levay would smell after a midnight ritual absolutely Devine

I dont own this, but i tried it in store and i thought okay cool not that crazy. Until one day my brother was wearing it at work and we worked in telecoms, so he would be on top of a 10 meter pole and i could still smell him, thats when i understood. Its a very comforting smell for some reason and gives me... creamy coffee vibes? That are followed by the cannabis but its not the skunky type of smell its very aromatic.

I was so scared a cat wouldn't like it cuz ut sounds sooo polarizing and scary. But its so majestic and masculine. Like a Persian cat from the royalty. I love it. Maybe its a bit too much for my fur, but my friends adore it. Performance is nuclear, in terms of both longevity, and projection. 30 ml is enough, because youll be using 2 spray in special occasions only. Its lovely, dark, and very imposing.

Sexy, smoky, mysterious and very very horny. I get a little bit of cannabis that combines with everything in a way that doesn’t make you smell like you’ve been trimming a cannabis plant all day but more like you smoked a joint with really nice weed in that jacket last month and sprayed perfume on it (positive). The animal notes are also a really nice addition that just add to the sexiness.

Might be the most interesting fragrance I’ve ever worn, I have no real way to describe it, smelling it is more of an experience than anything. I’ve heard many describe fragrances, clothes or confidence as walking into a room and owning the room, if this fragrance walked into a room it wouldn’t own the room, it would own the building and the lease probably is a bit shady, I love it.

Neurotic, L'Encre Noir Extreme and Black Afgano are all heading in the same smokey dark and sultry and 'elemental' direction. Especially on male skin. They share something sex magicky in their DNA, á la Aleister Crowley. The cannabis is a creative addition and not the star note. It's the smokey earthy tobacco and fragrant resinous woody accords that do the heavy lifting.

An explosion of wood smoke that’s blended by an artist. Projection monster. Siliage king. This will stay in your clothes for another 2 days at least. The run down slightly on the powdery side but it smells addictive. One/2 presses on the button and you’re set for the rest of the day. If you are into this type of fragrance then this 1 tops them all. A signature scent.

Amazing and not as dark as people make it out to be, like the geezer under my comment. Good value and long lasting, certainly unique and possibly not blind buy safe. I wrote a rap Black Afgano, I’m the shadow in the mist, Notes so thick, they forget I exist. Hash in my lungs, oud in my tone, I’m the scent of the throne, bald man full-grown.

This is a dark and deep fragrance, yet very comfortable to wear for me. It feels calm, warm and grounding..There’s also something mysterious about it — almost unsettling in a quiet, subtle way. It became my first signature fragrance — and probably my last, because I don’t feel the need to search for another one.

I am completely addicted...if it didn't have such a hefty price tag I'd wear it all day everyday. I get this beautiful strong fresh sweetness initially which lasts maybe 4 hours before beginning to fade, and then I get random waves of coffee...stunning ❤️ And people always compliment 🤷♀️

Absolutely fell in love with this the second i first smelled it absolutely incredible the cannabis is very light and on the dry down it smells intoxicating its been a great addition to my collection and ive literally had a girl buy it because it smelled soo good on me

This is something the Godfather would wear, smoking his blunt, sitting in his chair like the man he is. Not for everyones taste, not a crowd pleaser but if you're gonna wear this then the people youre trying to please will be different too. Unique, dark and heavy.
