Saint Vincent and The Grenadines

Fragrantica doesn't have the complete set of notes for this fragrance. Per Nateeva's website - "Crisp mandarin and cool coconut water mingle to create the essence of this fragrance’s wondrous top note, and the magnificent flora of the island is captured in the heart with notes of Night Blooming Jasmine, plumeria, orange flower and violet leaf – a journey that is then accentuated with a cocktail of musk that lingers in a cloud of extravagance." Fragrantica needs to fix that. Looking at the complete note profile this has all the notes I love, and I should love it, but I don't. I love the floral notes. The strongest being plumeria (frangipanni) with the night blooming jasmine and orange blossom playing supporting roles. It really is a beautiful triage and with the light coconut water does bring to mind a tropical paradise. What I am not crazy about is the violet leaf. It is overwhelmingly strong and I'm not sure it works well here. I normally love the green, peppery, zippy quality of that note and how it often elevates and adds lift and airiness to florals. But here, it is adding too much of an ozonic, aquatic aspect that is taking away from the depth and natural sweetness of the scent and what could have been a sultry and luscious composition. Unfortunately, the musk in the base does nothing to mitigate that. I'm not going to write this off just yet, as a hot humid day might bring out the sweetness and depth that is missing now, though I doubt I will ever come to love this because of that one note. That's too bad, because performance is excellent as just a few sprays from this mini is still going strong hours after I sprayed it on. Of course, that always seems to be the way when you are not crazy about a scent. If they had just toned down the violet leaf, or completely eliminated it, I'd probably be totally in love with this scent instead of ambivalent about it now.

I get a strong night Jasmine with a watery Orange Blossom dry down. No Frangipani, no violet. Very generic white flower. Pretty but basic. Bought a decant but will not reach for it

This is a pleasant jasmine with watery facets. It's a little bit reminiscent of the early 2000s. I think it's fine but I don't love it. 7/10
