740 Sândalo Breu Branco

This is very similar to Santal Blanc from Van Cleef & Arpels, but with a Brazilian twist that is very recognizable from Natura - it has the same creamy, cozy sandalwood and the delicious fig note. The difference to my nose is that 740 opens up slightly fresher, perhaps the more aromatic/green/woody facets of the Brazilian ingredients that are a signature of Natura, while Van Cleef's seemed a bit more cozy/fluffy. I've also seen people compare it to Santalum from Phebo, which I understand but disagree. They have commonalities, of course, both being mainly focused on the Sandalwood and having some powdery/aromatic aspects. Still, while I haven't tested both side by side, having tried both of them a few times, it feels to me like Santalum is fresher/greener and has a bit less of that creaminess that both 740 and Santal Blanc have, although its still a beautiful fragrance. I also feel like 740 some more delicate floral aspects in the middle of it, compared to the others. It feels like it is between both of them (although leaning more towards Santal Blanc), like the third point of a triangle is somewhere in the between of the other two points but also going its own way. I think Natura's also seemed to last longer than Santal Blanc, although both become skin scents for most of their duration, but I don't know how it fares when compared with Santalum, as this last one has been reformulated to have a higher percentage of perfume, so it could last longer than both of these now. Still, this is me trying to force myself to notice the differences, I think both would work very well, its mostly a matter of if one would want something a bit more creamy or a bit more aromatic. I believe 740 is also many times cheaper, although it might be hard to find outside of Brazil.

Absolutely gorgeous. Creamy sandalwood, delicious and resinous Brazilian Breu Branco and a faint milky fig note. Can’t stop sniffing my wrist. This is niche quality craftsmanship.
