Rebel Glam

After Toxic! Pink, launched in December 2017, Natura brought Rebel Glam in March of this year (2018) in order to continue the fragrances of the Faces line, which aim to strengthen ties with Millennials, who have great decision-making power regarding shopping within the familiar group and represent the largest public within an increasingly connected market. This time, the perfumer Veronica Kato joined with Ilias Ermenidis (Firmenich) and both gave life to a gourmand fragrance full of personality. The official composition lists notes of plum, raspberry, exotic fruits, apple, rum, pink pepper and mandarin, on top; ambrette seeds, magnolia, jasmine and caramel, in the body; benzoin, sandalwood, musk, vanilla, patchouli, suede and the Cedramber molecule, registered by IFF and able to offer nuances of ambergris and woods, in which the cedar dominates. In my opinion, Rebel Glam is a great release from Natura, even more, when I compare its fragrance to that of Toxic! Pink. I say this because I published a post on my blog, two years ago, that talks about the industry relationship with these Millennials, along with some personal opinions. And as much as I understand qualitative market research, I still think that young people always work in the same way: they want to show adulthood and an adult profile before the proper time. And this situation gains a voice through influencers of all types and styles, in a need for self-assertion and constant joy. Starting from this principle, the girl no longer wants a cute, light and cheap perfume. She wants a scent that reinforces her self-esteem, her sensuality, and her grown-up woman side, even though she still sleeps with her teddy bear. And Rebel Glam can deliver that! On the skin, it combines an explosion of apple and mandarin, as if they were sliced inside a goblet of rum. The caramel lasts from start to finish and the base brings the patchouli as the most worthy note, besides a creamier touch thanks to the fusion of benzoin and sandalwood. It follows the same olfactory path as the most famous international perfumes on the market, which are rich in patchouli and praline. However, it has an open, diurnal and versatile side that has managed to incorporate joviality and a touch of innocence, without losing the rebelliousness. It is not innovative, but it has quality. Another difference I feel when comparing the two fragrances of the Faces line is that this one tends to be more appreciated by older women, even though they are not part of the initial target audience. And more: Rebel Glam exudes a lot and showed more durability than the other, at least on me. With respect to visual identity, it repeats the pattern of Toxic! Pink, and the inside color of the label is red this time.
