Pepe Fondente

This fragrance is such a pleasant surprise. It’s affordable, yet it smells so lovely. The blend of cacao, liquorice, pepper, rum, and that subtle hint of berries creates something addictive. What’s not to love? The chocolate note to me leans toward cacao, and the pepper brings a pinching kick. The boozy rum smooths everything out so it never becomes harsh. I can tell it’ll land in the fragrances that I’ll keep repurchasing. I have a small group of perfumes I know I’ll always own, and this one joined the list. An amazing discovery. For an eau de toilette, the longevity is overall good. I personally prefer fragrances that last longer, so that’s the only downside for me. Other than that, I love everything about it. If you enjoy gourmands that aren’t overly sweet, you like cacao, rum, and a touch of peppery spice, you can blind-buy this with confidence, considering the price. Perfumes don’t really have a gender, but by today’s standards, this one leans perfectly unisex. Since I always have an opinion about bottles too, I can’t buy a perfume if I dislike its bottle, this one is simple but has its own vibe, and I actually like it. Don’t let the fact that it’s a pharmacy brand stop you. Whenever I’m waiting at the pharmacy, I sniff the perfumes out of curiosity. They’re rarely good, but every now and then you stumble upon a lovely surprise and it feels like striking gold when you least expect it.

Well, this is a brand which usually you can find into herbalist's shop. Perfumes are deeply cheap inside those shops. Copycat of mainstream fragrance, or mediocre composition absolutely not natural at all. So I am very "on guard" when I test some fragrance in there. This one, I have to admit, it is very nice. This is, in spite of the name, mainly a vanilla fragrance, dark, sweet, smoky, woody, and the balsamic pepper give it some light and lightness. Noticeable chocolate and Blackberry also, not so loudly, but infuse a "magical forest" note to the composition. Still simple. Not so exuberant or new. But a very nice surprise. Very wearable. So autumn. Modern classic vanilla.

I've tried this fragrance a few weeks ago, and I kinda liked it, reminded me of Rochas Man and Zara Tone Indeterninee but less complex, sweet and sticky. Didn't last too much on my wrist but I will try it again soon because I usually love Nathalie Lorson fragrances.
