Ambrosia Imperiale

I want to love this so badly, but something about it makes me feel sick. There is a strange citrus metallic element, and what reminds me of the musk in Erba Pura. I’ll keep it around for another season just in case my nose (or the juice) changes, but as of now it is a stroooong dislike. Edit: I have found a way to enjoy this. I do a quick spray (I have the body mist) over my clothes hanging in my closet from above. And I mean quick. This stuff is NUCLEAR. But I’ll find myself wearing an item days later and catching whiffs of something both delicious, fresh, and unique...and then realizing it’s me! I get a green banana caramel saffron scent with touches of that slightly herbal davana note. It’s a little boozy, a little creamy, a little earthy. It’s sweet yet green...I really like it now!

i hesitated to pick this up because i don't clamor for a banana fragrance-- i can't stand a banana runts/laffy taffy note, and i don't really want to smell like banana bread. thankfully, it's a green banana which is my favorite kind! a green banana with a touch of booziness, not overly sweet. as it dries down, the vanilla, whipped cream, and caramel start to make it sweeter. the aromatic aspect fades as well, so it's like a grown up bananas foster in the deep dry down, which i really enjoy. i like the whole journey, but the deep dry down is where it's at. i definitely don't think this is a safe blind buy, i can see people not finding this fragrance sweet/gourmand enough or being put off by the greenness.

UD: I now have the perfume, too, and I love them both. -- I haven't smelled the perfume itself. This bodyspray immediately stole my heart right upon the first spray. It's a bit gourmand but still perfumey and flowery, a very unique combination to my nose. It's beautiful, feminine, airy and delicious. On clothes, it performs 24+hours strong!

Totally love this scent in the body spray, but I was so disappointed when I sprayed it on this week, that the entire scent had gone off and I purchased it last September! It was not a pleasurable wearing experience at all, so I strongly suggest these body sprays be used as soon as possible. BUMMER!

Appetising but not overly sweet. The composition opens with banana drenched in rum, with a touch of cinnamon and orange, but thanks to the davana note the banana smells more green than fully ripe, which makes the fragrance more interesting. Next comes a date note lifted by a hint of amberwood , threaded with a light floral accent. The base is gently saffron-tinged and resinous, with a touch of musk, sweetened by caramel and vanilla. It’s an enveloping scent, but without excessive sweetness.It shares a similar theme with Banana Flambee by Demeter, but that one is, in my view, rather cloying, whereas Ambrosia is much easier to wear. Projection reaches about an arm’s length, and longevity is around 6–7 hours.

This exquisite gourmand scent features a subtle hint of banana that doesn’t overwhelm the overall experience. It has excellent projection and longevity, similar to an Eau de Parfum. In my opinion, the body spray is sufficient on its own and you may not need the EDP. Just a heads-up, the formula is quite oily, so be cautious when applying it to your clothing.
