SUNSETS ARE MAGICAL AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL TO LOOK AT THEM - Le Petit Prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. ATARDECER ( SUNSET ) is one of the few perfumes that really surprised me in a good way in 2024 A masterpiece, masterfully crafted by perfumer C. Carbonnel. First - Don't be scared when you read the notes, don't let them cheat you. You will not find a challenging perfume of oud, cheese, horse shit or animal notes as if you had put a dead cow on you. Luckily for me I came across a perfume that has such complex notes perfectly balanced. It has an opening where violet leaf predominates and a subtle bright point of narcotic tuberose that prepare you for the heart of the fragrance. As time passes (maybe 15 minutes) the violet leaf begins to diminish and the heart notes feel more intense: a combination of smoky, astringent (or spicy to my nose) woody notes accompanied by a leather note is perceived (not Ford's Ombre Leather or Matiere Premier's sophisticated Falcon Leather), this is a leather from a time-worn wallet. There is a sensation of wet earth very present as time progresses In the end - after 8 hours, the perfume stays on your skin, perceiving notes of sweet vanilla and amber and something green that I don't know what it is. It is definitely not a blind buy, it is far from the entire realm of mainstream perfumes (Thank you), but it is also not a perfume that you can never use because it could raise the eyebrows of the people around you. For me it turned out to be a perfume that I can use every day with a bit of cold weather. Something nostalgic happens to me when I use it.

INSPIRATION: March 1997. Walking through the forest, the sky begins to rumble and turn gray. We look for shelter. In the distance, a cave on the side of the mountain. Upon entering, we are greeted by a cold and mineral scent of rock and millennia. We see the rain falling from inside as if we were admiring it from a window. An aroma of wet earth invades the senses. I start a fire to prepare some coffee. My jacket gives off traces of my favorite perfume of leather and violet leaves that, due to use, has been impregnated for life in it. I search in my backpack for a Havana cigar that I had been saving for a special moment, I light it and the smoke mixes with the strong and intoxicating perfume of tuberose that she carries. We sit on the ground with our backs resting on the rock and we prepare to wait for the rain to pass while we watch the beginning of the sunset.

Let's start by saying that it's not a simple perfume, but it's not that complicated either. You can feel the aroma wet soil, a forested soil where it has rained for a long time. In the center is a cabin, where it seems that an aroma of roasted coffee comes out of the chimney. Great job for Cris Carbonnel, long-lasting and sticks to your skin for hours. Whitout forgetting Eduardo from MyscentJorney who has been a creative part of the process. I’ts a great perfume. Or as we say in Spanish PERFUMON!

What a masterpiece. Just when you think you got it all figured out! It comes Atardecer to tell you, nope! You don’t! And bang !!️ right at your face!!! It’s a very hard to describe scent and definitely not a blind buy, but don’t get scare, I’ll promise you’re gonna love it!!! Smoky, leathery, a bit green, very mineral, vanilla is like plastic like the smell of 3D printers filaments, that wet dirt smell that’s so addictive.... Anyways guys, I’m just in love.

An easy-to-use oud perfume for those of us who love oud notes. It starts with an aroma that reminds me of my childhood when I went to a small town called Tapalpa (a forest with rain) and continues to evolve into a pleasant mix of vanilla and coffee, without being a perfume of great projection, it remains in a personal bubble that those who are close to you will notice that you smell different. 10/10.

Atardecer is a unique perfum, is Mexico in the bottle. For woman and men, is floral but no femenine smell, is like you visit Mexico in november when celébrate the Día de Muertos and you can find a lot of flowers and incense. This perfume is to strong and the sillage is astonishing. Evryone must try to smell this piece of art.

Absolutely gorgeous fragrance overall. Very complex and unique, and by a long shot my favorite rainy day fragrance. IMO a very approachable oud as it’s very light when compared to the more dominant earthy/coffee notes. 11/10 masterpiece

I like it. I think the oppening is green, fresh musk with incense. Pass 2 hours add notes of white flower with wet earth. The last hours enjoy the coffe whit the others notes, is a ellegant parfum. Please don’t missing this parfum.

Update 2: it does change a lot from blotter to skin. More more aromatic and green on the skin. You need to try this first, not a blind buy. I know the people from theparfums have decants for sale in case you are interested.

La salida es bastante difícil. Olvida el atardecer en un bosque o mirando una bella puesta de sol, más bien imagina un atardecer a un costado de un corral de cerdos. Percibo tierra mojada y un olor animalico un tanto desagradable. Admiro a la gente que encuentra belleza en esto o encuentra el momento adecuado para usarlo pero esto aún no es para mi y tal vez nunca lo sea. Después de unos 10 minutos se asientan las notas y es un olor más equilibrado pero sigo sin encontrar belleza en él.

I truly enjoy every time I wear this perfume. The first time I tried it, I immediately sensed that damp, earthy feel of wet soil, which reminded me of Last Season. I’ve heard people say they first pick up tuberose, others violet; in the drydown, an exquisite vanilla, and someone even mentioned chocolate. This fragrance might bring to mind Last Season, Fahrenheit, Boa Madre, or Onehk (or No Limits, depending on what you're familiar with). To me, it smells like all of those yet none of them at the same time—at least, not predominantly. The sensation, for me, is like wrapping yourself in a dense cloud of ever-changing aromas that embrace you, shifting depending on your mood. Knowing Eduardo’s taste, I see it as a remarkable achievement that a perfume can evoke so many scents we know he loves while still managing to create something new, unique, and different—with exceptional projection and longevity. I believe this is the tangible result of sharing a passion for fragrances with heart and dedication. My only recommendation: try it at least once in your life and don’t judge it by notes or reviews.

Atardecer is a powerful fragrance that's reminds me many perfumes that i love. Those of us, who follow Eduardo and share an affinity for certain compositions in perfumery were waiting for this, bring these chords together in a single bottle. Atardecer is a green composition with a floral and mineral notes with a leather base. Personally I feel it elegant, masculine and proposal composition with a very good performance, you can adjust the strength according to the atomizations; the scent doesn ́t go unnoticed as it ́s quite peculiar, but doesn ́t become challenging for those who are more into niche perfumery. Undoubtedly it ́s a perfume that doesn ́t leave indifferent. The quality and composition of the ingredients are phenomenal. If you like perfumes like Fahrenheit or Last Season, you will love Atardecer.

When I spray the perfume I notice that it opens with a note of coffee mixed with Oud, although those are not the top notes for some reason, it is how I perceive it, as it dries on my skin you notice more of that vanilla and the touch of the leather note along with the coffee and the Oud, when I pre-ordered I did think it would be challenging like "The Night -Frederick malle" or "Octavian- Electimus" which are the slightly stronger Ouds that I have tried in my short experience, but nothing to do with Atardecer where it has more pleasant Oud notes, even my students like the aroma and for being teenagers where they like sweet aromas it surprised me, I do get stuck and put on more than 6 sprays and it lasts all afternoon and the next day my jacket retains the aroma of the perfume.
