Aweigh

This is a really unique tropical style fragrance. It took a while for me to really get it but I can say now it’s a very good, long lasting fresh scent. And more importantly there’s nothing I’ve smelled like it, designer or niche. If I had to describe it (which is challenging), I’d say it starts as a niche style earthy coconut and fresh fragrance (bright with some citrus but not aquatic). The dry down resembles a peppery version of a Bleu de Chanel-esque profile without being a copy. So you get something tropical, nichey, but also crowd pleasing like a designer. Very unique but more universally likeable towards the middle and base.

Such a lovely and relaxing sweet lavender scent. Starts off with a fruity bubblegum mix but not in bad way at all. In fact, I'm usually triggered by bubblegummy scents, but this has that extra relaxing fruity-floral vibe that's very well balanced. Not exactly bathroom product territory, but more...foody?...like the sillage off of the powder on a fresh stick of Wrigley's Spearmint gum. The bottle colour nails it to a tee. Absolutely get nuances of the lavender-sage combo from Lautus, but that's only in the mid. This is 10x more wearable and unisex imo. Don't know where I'm getting the mint connotation from, but the tonka is pretty strong and is on the sugar water side rather than the warm amber side. The citruses in the opening are also very muted so it's not a blast of citrus at the beginning. Strangely enough, I get a touch of yuzu in the mid, which adds to that fruity accord. So basically it's a cooling, moist bubblegummy opening with a yuzu-lavender-sage mix on top of a creamy sandalwood with a thin and persistent glaze of sweetness. Very easy to like and certainly not a screamer. And I get the sweet green tea vibes! So yeah, I'm a big fan of Jorge's blending here. No traces of coconut to my nose, or anything tropical for that matter; so if you're not into tropical florals, no need to shy away. It can EASILY be a daily wear and doesn't overtly resemble any other fragrance that I've smelled, besides that nod to Lautus I mentioned above. Quality of the materials seems a bit higher than most designers (especially the lavender), but it's super mass appealing because of that persistent, yet non-intrusive sweetness. I could see some people being upset over the price, but nothing to justify the "hate" ratings. It's simply not the citrus bomb I imagine many people would expect from the notes, nor a hyper-unique indie or artisan creation. Presentation is wonderful. Cheap glass (creased), but the packaging is slick, the cap is heavy and the pressurized atomizer gives out a great mist. Sillage is decent, but the longevity is superb for a freshie. In fact, due to that sweetness, it tends to shine on warm and sweaty skin - a nice feature for a "beach" themed scent. And although it's perfectly unisex imo, some people might think it leans feminine on account of that tonka. Luckily the lavender reels it back in, so I'm in the unisex camp. Overall though, it's clear that I'm a fan. Especially the cooling, minty sweet lavender wafts I get on the regular. Bit chewing-gummy, yes, but so much better balanced than those screechy designer scents that force it on you. Just don't expect a standard spicy blue-aquatic, nor an overtly citrus blast. Keep it light, keep it cool, keep it flowing. Anchors aweigh. Scent - 7.5/10 Longevity - 8/10 Projection - 7.5/10 Overall - 7.5/10

Starting to sample the latest trio of Navitus Parfums releases curated by Steven Gavrielatos, and the first is Aweigh, marketed as the freshest of the new trio. It’s a fresh, sharp, spicy mix achieved by coconut, arrays of citruses (lime, grapefruit, yuzu, bergamot) and spices (pepper, ginger, clary sage, nutmeg), two key florals (lavender, geranium), and a dry down of vetiver, tonka, incense, musk and sandalwood. The note breakdown rings true—there are the sharp, heady qualities of the lavender and geranium, a boatload of varied spices, plenty of fresh, tart citruses, and a try down with just a hint of sweetness. Aweigh has elements of Tom Ford Lavender Extreme and Molinard Lavande on the sharp lavender side, but certainly some fresh citrus cocktail fragrances like Creed Virgin Island Water, and the coconut/resinous/woods aspect of the risk comes out more over time, and the sharpness fades a bit. Compared to prior Navitus releases, it’s not quite as easy on the nose as say, Soleil Matin or Elation, but closer to Verve Matin in that it’s multifaceted and defies classification somewhat. Its opening is challenging but its dry down is rewarding. Overall, I’m pleased with it and positively delighted that the price point for this and the other new releases is $145 for 100ml. 7 out of 10

Highly likeable but not loveable. Tropical but not all the way. Tons of citruses with lime and grapefruit being the most noticed on my skin. Also lavender and musk which add some depth. Navitus does cold weather scents better than warm weather. Longevity is around 7-8 hours but light projection after the first 2 or so. All in all this is a slightly tropical slightly spicy scent that's mass appealing but should be sampled 1st.

I waas reeeally hyped for this one! Mostly for the coconut note! This smeeell like a strong green tea! Is really well blended i couldn't pick most notes! It is a green tea with some strong citruses! It is good but not what i expected! There is more coconut in Issey Miyake Fussion Extreme! And i like that more for summer! This is something else... 5/10 for the quality ingredients.

This had a nice sweet, fresh, and citric opening, but it dries down to something that smells dry and old or dingy. I don't like the dry-down too much so I wouldn't say anyone should smell this. I'm glad this isn't strong or I would probably be scrubbing this off.

This is a sexy tropical sage fragrance. Sexy, tropical, salty, herbaceous, minty, creamy, citrusy. The sage in here is strong and makes this a nuclear power fresh scent. You definitely pick up the creamy coconut but its not enough to call this a coconut fragrance. Vacation in a bottle. Leans masculine. This is my 2nd favorite from navitus. Aweigh will definitely garner compliments and grab attention. The color of the bottle describes this fragrance perfectly. Very unique and tropical

Big citrus bomb. Heavy on the lime, wood and Vetiver to my nose. Ginger adds a good amount of spice. I don’t get any coconut from this. I don’t understand how people voting that this is reminiscent of Bond no.9 Greenwich Village - they are nothing NOTHING alike. Greenwich Village is quite sweet and this has zero sweetness imo. A very unisex freshie, leaning masculine to my nose.

This was another one where I grabbed a sample because I really want to have the bottle in my collection. Unfortunately, that will not be happening. Is this bad? No. It's nice and clean and very fresh. But unfortunately, it is very masculine. VERY masculine. Like, on me, it pulls straight aftershave. On a guy, this would be awesome. On me? Not so much.

Spicy citrus.. Probably the best of the three new ones but so spicy and I believe the spices are overdone here. Tried it around three female colleagues and they were not impressed at all.

This is the fresh one of the three new ones. It’s citrusy spicy with slight sweetness. I was not a big fan. Nothing unique. Female colleagues did not care for it.
