Cabana Sunset

Okay y'all! BIG UPDATE! I have now owned this fragrance for a year. I am not a Paulina minion, nor do I really like her ...I watch her videos only on occasion, if she's reviewing something I'm interested in. Just wanted to get the record straight 1st. Btw my 1st review is below. Now on with my update.... unbelievably to me....this has became a scent I actually adore lol. The sharp apple is no where to be found. I get the custard with a sweet lychee right off the bat with a sweet powder note dancing around them. While this scent is VERY different to anything I've ever smelt so sometimes I feel like my brain doesn't always know what to 100% think but all I know is I REALLY enjoy this frag during spring and summer seasons. Along with the gourmand sweet custard, sweet lychee, & sweet powder, I also get a creamy coconut, with strawberry and then tuberose helping balance all these fruits, then I also get a vanilla and a warm/sweet Amber. The Amber comes in closer to dry down. Full dry down for me is vanilla, Amber, clean airy musk, and a light strawberry. While there is still a slightly synthetic-esque to this frag, it's rounded out now, nothing sharp stabbing my brain, or making my brain scream WTFFFF. It is ULTRA feminine, and I love it. Yes this is probably what barbie smells like. This has really really good longevity and decent to good projection. I get compliments on it and actually find it kind of comforting. I def don't think this will be for everyone BUT it's 100 times....no 1000 times better than when I 1st received it. It actually kinda smells like Cry baby mixed with Jusbox Cherioca Heart, then add a splash of custard on top. Idk I really can't compare to anything b/c I haven't really smelt anything super close to this. I honestly feel it's matured VERY well and I also learned how to love it b/c it's so different your brain can go ???? So even after maturing you have to sit with this frag for a few days. I love using her for layering as well. I layer this with my crybaby dupe, Her elixir, Idole, Alien goddess, DBIR Extradose, etc. So good for layering. I adore it and IDC what anyone else says or thinks and it HAS gotten better. No lies....just MY truth. Goodnight 🤟🏻🤗

I've let mine sit & it's wearable now. A LOT better then the 1st week or 2 it was here! I'm praying it gets better with time. We shall see. For now it is synthetic. Fake strawberries, light coconut, and some florals and fake custard. now the lychee/green apple isn't as sharp as when I 1st got it. And some notes blended in better. So I'm crossing my fingers on patience. UPDATE: 4.5 weeks of owning: I get a lot more vanilla/custard now, I get some creamy coconut & a note that my brain is processing as 'strawberry scented dior lipstick'(if they had one lol). Now that my brain has compartmentalized this synthetic note I'm actually starting to enjoy it a lot more. I actually strongly like it now. Even tho it does have that synthetic note, I keep wanting to sniff it. Something about it is pulling me in. The sillage on this (what you smell in the air wafting around you) is actually a lot better than if you put your nose to your arm to sniff. I also like the smell better on my clothes than I do on my skin. It's ultra girly & EXTREMELY unique thats FS lmao. With that lipstick, strawberry note, with creamy coconut mixed into lipstick to add extra moisture, accidently drop that lipstick into a vanilla custard, you try to save your custard by adding in a a few apples and a splash of lychee. & btw that sharp SUPER SOUR apple smell is completely GONE & I can only pick up a small trace of apple now. So it is getting better little by little. It's much more rounded out, & lasts ages. Patience is paying off. Atm I wouldn't repurchase. But I'll happily wear it during warm to hot days & I'm gonna see how it smells this winter as well. sometimes seasons have a HUGE effect on scent.

To the comments below: I didn’t say to not write if you thinks it’s bad but some comments are ridiculous in that they try hard to get people to scare people away and not even try it. What I’m suggesting is to those who haven’t tried it to find a sample and try for themselves rather than just right it off because of the bad comments. Perfume is subjective, what you hate I might love and vice versa, we don’t all have to agree on how amazing or disgusting a juice is. There is a difference between giving your opinion/experience and being just plain nasty. Which is what some of the comments below are- completely nasty and hateful. I personally like it and yes there are people who like it and even love it. Why do the people who hate it get mad when they see someone liking it?? Sus! Just an observation. I decanted mine and took 10 ml with me on vacation so maybe it macerated faster but it’s way way less sharp for sure than when I first tried it. For me this is beautiful and I’ve smelled a lot and I own a lot- niche, designer, middle eastern. It’s a strong like for me, not a love. I’m keeping it and I’m glad I bought it. to me this is good! Everyone that has smelled it on me likes it. My 3 girls, husband, mom, and 3 sister in laws all say it smells good on me and from the nozzle, so there’s that. Stay blessed and get yourself a sample!

Cabana Sunset is a strawberry slushie blended with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! The strawberry jam and the vanilla custard are the two most prominent notes to me and they're pretty much all I smell, but I love it! The strawberry is sweet, like the topping you'd get with on a strawberry sundae or the strawberry puree you'd get in a lava flow. Take your pick of sweet strawberry and vanilla combination and that's what Cabana Sunset is for me. I agree with Rose perfume Lover's comment below about this giving Barbie vibes - yes! Cabana Sunset was marketed with the imagery of lounging under a cabana at sunset while sipping on a tropical smoothie. I don't get any tropical vibes from the scent, but I think the pink bottle is appropriate because the scent makes me think of strawberry scented dolls. I also wanted to add that I do NOT get any Raid or bug spray smell - not even a little. Those comments made me scared to try Cabana Sunset and I waited a while to finally get a decant. It was love at first sniff and I'm glad I don't get any bug spray smell. Just delicious strawberry jam and vanilla custard 🥰 Update 2/27/25: Sometimes I pick up on the peach note. I could do without it, I would prefer just the strawberry. Wish I could take out the peach!

Wow the hate on here is crazy! If you don’t like okay why are you on here trying so hard to make sure no one buys it. Why try so hard to make others run away and not even try it. Don’t listen to the hate or the love for that matter. Get yourself a sample or a decant from Mercari and judge for yourself. Perfume is subjective. I’ve bought perfume with crazy hate comments before and loved it and I’ve bought perfumes with ridiculous amounts of praise and have gagged. I’ll say it again perfume is subjective- get yourself a sample. And for the love of God move on it’s just perfume. If you have to blind buy it just sell it no biggy. I paid $170 but I got a free 100 ml body spray this time. You can turn around and sell both and still break even or more than likely make money. I think they did that so people could try their body sprays. Which I’m glad I did because I will be purchasing them instead of the glass bottles from now on if they are the exact same thing in a plastic aerosol bottle. It’s actually a great deal. Not as cute on the shelves but the same juice for $100 less is fine with me. Anyways people, stay blessed! Be kind! It’s just perfume!

Absolutely loved at first sniff. Thank God it arrived a day before my vacation, so I decanted it and took it with me and I'm so glad I did. I am currently in Istabul and its nice weather but kinda hot during the day and this is perfect! refreshing and oh so fruity and oh so so so strong it lasts so good! NOthing screechy or dusty just pure perfection! such a great blind buy! Its fruity but I wouldnt say its gourmand. Its more fruity and perfumy but I like that I'm not into overly gourmand perfumes. If you dont like it move on, it didnt work for you. I blind bought this and like 15 other full bottles which arrived a few days before my vacation and unfortunately a few didnt work for me. Leisure in Paradise, Glazed Ecstsacy, and Narco Oasis didnt work for me on my skin. I was so sad but got over it. left them behind. I will have to sell them when I get back.

This one smells like sipping on one of those sweet, calorie filled cocktails, Malibu Sunset and Pina Colada with a lime twist, decorated with a stupid umbrella on a beach in the Caribbean, while you lay out, slathered in sunblock. Therefore, love it! Reminds me of trips to Hawaii because of the rich tropical flowers, and the beaches of Barbados or St. Lucia maybe... anyway, I love it. The vanilla custard is detectable in the base and such an interesting creamy note that smoothes out the tuberose and fruit juices... Navitus still has the best atomizers on the market. The hot pink bottle is a jewel. It’ll be a welcome little ray of sunshine between vacations, in the dead of the long winter to come. 🍹 ⛄️

This one has to sit and let the notes come together because on first spray, it's very plastic smelling. After it settles, I get Amorous Intense. 1 week later, the Amorous Intense that I thought I had another of, mixes better with the litchi, and the strawberry. I'm still on the fence about keeping it. Trying to give it some time to get to the beautiful fragrance that Paulina spoke of. Fingers crossed.

So, I’ve had a sample of this one sitting around for a good few months now. Between one thing and another I’ve just never got around to trying it. I finally picked it up this morning; it’s a warm day here and I felt like something summery and fun. Initial thoughts - drinks on the terrace. Super sweet, sugary, girly cocktails. Barbie core. Sun loungers on a hot, hot day. In terms of scent, fizzy sherbet in the opening, settling down to strawberry and vanilla custard, on top of a creamy, musky base. Is it fun? Sure. As I catch the odd whiff it’s a summery delight. Here’s the rub: up close it’s very synthetic-smelling, it’s very expensive, and it actually makes my skin feel like it’s burning where I applied it (ETA: this faded after about 30 mins, but makes me think it probably has a fairly high alcohol content...) As far as I understand it, Navitus brand themselves as a luxury Arabian perfume house, but having experienced this scent I feel like I could get better from Lattafa. While I find it pleasant enough, this is not a $195 scent.

It's probably a strong like but I'm going to let this sit for a bit to see if it improves. First it is a love but it soon turns into a skin scent with little to no sillage & that's my issue. TBH the only place you can get it in the uk,full bottle, is direct from Navitus & I certainly don't like it enough to pay import & customs charges on top of it's $170 price tag. Not sure I really get any of the apple,strawberry or lychee, what I get is peach & coconut. I'll update after another wear.

Not bad at all- I don't get the reviews. Maybe mine has had a chance to sit for awhile? Its like a really fresh strawberry milkshake in the best way. Way better than Bougie Marshmallow and other strawberry scents. Doesn't smell artificial either- a really nice strawberry. Very sweet and pretty long-lasting. A bit of peach but no plastic or coconut at all.

I ordered as soon as I seen the notes and the way Paulina talked about it. It’s a meh for me I don’t get any of the notes listed or the way she described them. There is a strong note that I have no idea what it is. I have let it sit a week and it’s changing for the better so I’ll stay hopeful. I do love the color of the bottle. I’ll keep for now.

This feels like a rough draft. Nothing to anchor the scent, the fruit notes are muddled, and it does not feel gourmand as advertised.

This doesn't smell like what I thought it would. Does it smell like AI the Great's fragrances? Paulina wishes! Does this have a Bertrand Duchaufour dna? Yes! Is that a bad thing? Absolutely not! This is a non offensive, crowd pleasing, soft tropical scent. If this is your scent profile, I can't imagine anyone HATING it. Its cool and not extremely exciting. Do I personally need this in my collection? As picky as I am....no. I will be decluttering. I desire more Va VA VOOM. This is kinda cute but doesn't WOW me. I crave showstopper, make my heart melt, and scream OMG. This wasn't that for me. Lost in a Dream is still my #1 from Paulina. Venom of Love ranks #2. This would come in third and although Kind Intentions would fall into 4th place, it was so blah bad I'd push it to -40. Is Cabana Sunset worth getting a decant of? Yes! Get your nose on it if you're curious for sure. Again, it is a nice scent, but when I think of tropicals I love like, Leisure in Paradise, Sunsplosion, St. John from City Rhythm, Cruz Del Sur ll, Bella Tropicale from Oscar De La Renta, Sunkoin from Xerjoff, Keep Glazed from THoO, Mango Sticky Rice, & Fleur De Lait from Miu Miu, this just doesn't keep up. There's a lot of stiff competition in the fragrance world. Is Navitus still my favorite brand? Yes! Will I blind buy another Paulina fragrance? Absolutely!

First of all, I was super looking forward to receiving this one, as I already have Baklava Royale and Paulinas Lost in a dream. I super love both of them, true masterpieces in my eyes. I was excited to receive Cabana Sunset. But I couldn’t have been more disappointed. I try so hard, ever since I received it 3 weeks ago, to love this fragrance, but I cant. In my opinion, they have made 1 major mistake, and that is to add green apple. The opening of this fragrance is disturbingly sour sour sour as in granny smith apple sour . I also compare it to those green sour apple haribo stripes if you have ever had them, probably in your childhood. Loved them, but dont wanna smell like them . I dont want to hate, but that’s exactly what it is, a sour nightmare. And thats the main thing you get in the opening. Once it dries down, thank god, the sourness fades mostly, and you finally pick up the strawberry jam and the custard. Which I love. Which leads me to say, if only they had left away the Green Apple, it would have been an amazing scent. That note is the main problem for the many hates and dislikes on this on. Unfortunately, I absolutely dispise the opening so much, that I cant keep it . Truly disappointing as I so wanted to love it. Unfortunately it has to leave my collection.

our noses are so different, but for me this is a hard pass. I don't get any distincte notes, no fruit, nothing that I could compare this to (I haven't smelled the perfumes that are mentioned as similar to this), it is not pleasant and I resold the sample, after waiting for about a month since I tried it and disliked it the first time. Melon kiss ir ok, but overpriced for the scent profile, Chocolate Queen is Khamrah drydown after cocoa powder scent that reminds me of Chocolate Greedy from Montale and Choco Violet from Mancera.

Ok, Paulina's Lost in a dream was basically a dupe of Commodity Milk which already is another version of an even older fragrance. This is nothing like what she described and it's just a synthetic mess. I am in a lot of fragrance groups and it's heavily decluttered. Guess why? Now i can't take her serious anymore and her recommendations since this is what she creates and sells. $170 for this is absolutely ridiculous. This smells like no more than a $25-30 perfume.

After months of letting this maturate, it’s better than the first time I put my nose to it, I finally get the vanilla custard and the coconut, but I think this combo, with the tuberose and the fruity notes, makes this smell plasticky, playdoughy. I would not recommend this to anyone above puberty. And the price should be in the $20 range. This set the stone on the tomb of my blind buying fails, and the common back to my senses.

This is nauseating and headache inducing. Very synthetic and has that awful scratchy musk. I work in a fabrication shop and there’s something in it that reminds me of the smell of plastic sheets being machined. I was expecting something creamy (hello, where is the custard???) but this is just a blast of cough syrup, cheap body spray, and burning plastic. What on earth was Navitus thinking??

I had such high hopes for this fragrance! The notes sound divine and I love Paulina! So I blind brought it. Never again! It smells like a synthetic mess unfortunately. Definitely recommend sampling this one first if possible.

This one should be described as a ‘hot synthetic mess’! I don’t get any of the fruits Paulina was raving about. It’s childish and extremely sweet to the point that it’s sickening. I can’t find a single occasion to wear this. My niece is 8 y/o and she asked me to put it away from her. It made her gag. Headache inducing to say the least. What a huge letdown. How could you promote something like this as your best perfume yet? So...plasticky it is? The nerve of some people to make money off their followers. And the fact that some “girlfriends” in the fragrance community are raving about it for the sake of a free PR bottle is unthinkable. Shame on you all! Playing with your folllowers’ trust. You have no scruples. The packaging is terrible, so cheap looking in reality (pictures make it look better) and mine is already peeling off. A total disaster. Navitus please: Stop the madness. Reconsider making fragrances with people that know about high quality niche fragrances in the first place. Mercari is full of unwanted bottles of this stuff.

Be kind- like a comment states below and please express your opinion. If something is bad, someone needs to warn you. And this new “launch” is worth $17 and not $170. They even gift you an all over body spray as a consolation prize? Well, let me tell you: I don’t think it will be worth it! This is a BAD investment and I would give anything to have had someone telling me the truth about it from the beginning, not finding silly excuses (let it sit, it will macerate, it won’t smell plastic anymore, and yada yada yada) in order for this FLOP to work, simply because it won’t! Some girls influencers have dropped a level or two for me because of their lack of truthfulness in their reviews about this. Just because you’re friends with Paulina doesn’t mean you have to lose your credibility in front of your followers. Huge deception. NAVITUS, what a disaster!! A hot artificial mess!

i guess it is a good thing that sillage and projection here are so dramatic. First of all : Strawberry? No!, Litchi? No, Coconut (i dont love) but no! I agree with the comment saying this is a synthetic mess, the musks here (i love musk) are too scrutchy, no elegance here! I also agree with a youtube video saying it is like bugspray. Yes on the dry down this is horrible, on my skin i get on the drydown an oudy note (maybe its caramel gone bad) which i absolutely hate. All in all i do not recommend it and Paulina has started making money on our backs. I am not going to fall for her video next time and i am not going to give Navitus my money anymore except they make a masterpiece. The only nice thing about this fragrance is the bottle. But dont let it deceive you the juice is awful. Give me 2 hours in a lab and i can produce the same mess if i want to. Very hard pass.

I know what it reminds me of: A children’s cough syrup my mum used to give to us (my siblings and I) in the late 80’s and it tasted so awful 😢 like rotten strawberries with milk. It was nauseating. This one is a scrubber! And unfortunately every one at home hates that smell and same thing within my circle of friends. Don’t believe Paulina and her “squad” coming here with fake accounts and selling you this mess. It’s ultra synthetic and a total embarrassment for Navitus Parfums. Mercari is overloaded with unwanted units of this mess. Duchaufour needs to retire if he aproved something like this. Honestly, he needs a new nose. And Paulina needs to stop with her cheap ideas. She’s deleting all negative feedback /comments from her Youtube videos. Reality is a hard pill to swallow. Biggest flop of 2024 :(

I kid you not, this is the worst Navitus I’ve ever smelled. I just wonder, isn’t Betrand Duchaufour ashamed to put his name behind this disaster? All I can smell is rubber and sugar. What was Her Majesty thinking? I doubt that I will buy another fragrance from this house ever again. I wonder if perfumes can be banned from the market? Well, this one should definitely be! I am so done with their scammy ways.. selling this as luminous, luscious and luxurious? Abysmal joke. Paulina has now two fails in a row. Lost in a Dream was a cheap and a very weak dupe of Commodity's Milk. Save your money, this is awfully loud and cheap smelling!

This is like a live concert ticket you bought but got cancelled. All the fun expectations were not met. The spark was not there it was just an illusion. Navitus should refund all buyers for this mess. This should not be called a perfume. Edit: people telling you to let it macerate, that it will change are all part of Paulina’s lying squad. Do not listen to them. It’s BS. It’s not luscious, luminous, luxurious or anything of that sort. It’s a scam. No wonder why it is the worst voted Navitus Fragrance to this day. Question I keep asking myself is: How did this ever get greenlit?

I can’t believe this was released. I can honestly say this is the worst perfume I have ever smelled. It’s dominated by a sour apple. Honestly that’s all I can smell. There’s the tiniest hint of a lovely strawberry but it never comes to the front. I kept it for 3 months for all the macerate people. It just got worse. It’s so bad I felt ashamed when I sold it and that poor person now has it up for sale. I’m the type to blind buy fragrance but I kept a small decant of this to remind me to never blind buy again. If you buy this without testing you will be very disappointed

Curious fact: No one is talking about this perfume. Navitus official website doesn’t say anything about its launch. It is like non existent. Their Instagram account hasn’t posted anything since the announcement her Majesty -do -no wrong- Paulina made on her youtube channel about the upcoming launch. Her best fragrance ever? I mean really? It completely blows my mind how delusional and arrogant certain people can be. This has been more than a flop for Navitus: it’s shameful. I hope they have learned their lesson.

Dawnya7b, the point of this website is to read what is good and what is bad before buying. I personally have been checking Fragrantica before every purchase for many years. And yes, if something is bad and so many people think it's bad, I want to read it. Why would you tell people not to write if their opinion of this perfume is bad? You are suggesting people just spend 170 dollars and then sell if they don't like it? Do you know how many Cabana Sunsets are being sold on Mercari at the moment? A lot.

This is the worst perfume I have ever tried. It’s a synthetic mess. Incredibly synthetic coconut and fruits, just gross. NOTHING like it was described, and it gave me the worst migraine. There’s no way this should be priced beyond $20, cannot believe they think this is worth $170.

This is so totally not what Paulina described in her video. This will be the last time I blind buy something from Navitus. This perfume is not even just ok, it is quite bad and I don’t see anyone choosing to smell like a bug spray. I wonder where all the wonderful notes went?

I’m sorry I wanted to love this. But for the price yoy are paying? I have had $10 perfumes smell more expensive and less synthetic and better than this. This is a synthetic mess not wearable to me and makes me nauseous. Do not blind buy it

This smells downright offensive. I wanted to like it because I enjoy Paulina but this is truly the worst fragrance I have ever smelled. The staying power was impressive, I felt like I couldn’t scrub it off :(

It just smells like Raid and burnt plastic. Thankfully, I got just a decant. Honestly, I think this woman became a teleshopping clown that will review or sell any crap to pay for her groceries.

I really didn’t like this one. It smells very synthetic like strawberry cough syrup. They used to have the best releases, but I haven’t been impressed with the new Navitus releases lately

My friend bought it and sold it. I smelled it. No way that is worth that kind of money. If it was 17 euros, I wold say it's okay. But 170 euros for this quality? Never!

the worst perfume i bought in 2024....

I just knew I was going to love this. The bottle is amazing and the notes are just too good. It doesn’t help that Navitus only offers samples in huge sets not individually. So, I got all excited and blind bought it even though I never do that anymore. Well, I actually hate it. The bug spray reference below me is pretty spot on. The thing that I immediately noticed right out of the gate is something I’ve noticed about fragrances like Erba Pura, certain fragrances from Montale: a screechy synthetic musk. Or possibly an over abundance of aroma chemicals. It’s in the opening and unfortunately stays throughout the dry down. It’s not something I see changing enough to really wear or want to smell like. But, if you love Erba Pura you’ll probably like this too. I don’t know 🤷🏼♀️ You’ve been warned. Other than that the rest of the fragrance is quite sweet and sour. I get a lot of the green apple and not much strawberry unfortunately. I get zero coconut and I get some vanilla. Overall it’s a big fail for me. Update: This has macerated for a few weeks & that shrill musk has calmed down a bit. But, it’s still not great. There’s still an overall plastic-y aroma to this whole fragrance. There’s a very sour feeling to this fragrance in general and when it mixes with the vanilla it’s slightly vomit-like. I hate to say that but it’s true. It’s actually better now that it’s sat for a while but I still don’t like it.

To me, or, on my skin, it smells exactly like Vanilla Powder had a baby with Carioca Heart. It's like they took two very well loved fragrances and bred it. It has the tropical fruity vibe from Carioca Heart but also has a dusty, warm ambery vanilla from Vanilla Powder. Was this s conscious move from Navitus? Like Lost in a Dream? Lost in a Dream smells just like MILK by Commodity on my skin. How about Chocolate Queen? It smells very similar to Pantheon Roma Dolce Passione. These are NOT spot on dupes but the " inspiration" is clearly there!

This was a blind purchase for me. Initially it was awful. Just a synthetic plastic strawberry scent. I tried it over the following few months and every time I hated it. Finally, today I decided to spray it one last time. Magically it seems to have changed. The plastic has disappeared. I can smell the strawberry, white florals and a sweet musk. Still not a favourite but much better than before. If you blind buy this one, keep it around a few months to see if it develops over time

Think sipping a Lychee and green apple fruity coconut cocktail served up w/ a little umbrella 🍹 Lychee and green apple do drive the top of the scent, followed w/ a medley of other fruity notes. Strangely, I am not picking up distinct peach or strawberry. Usually scents with peach notes tend to magnify on me, and over power other notes. Behind the fruits, I am getting a coconut and something creamy sweet at the base. Nice simple sweet fruity scent for summer.

I thought I had left a review, but now I am. I made a review of this on my YouTube channel, and I still feel the same. It is not for everyone. It is a pink flamingo vibe. The most I get is the apple granita and the vanilla custard, that give it a creamy, slightly dusty, musky vibe. It’s giving like a Barbie vibe. Is it what I expected? No, but I still like it, I have nothing else like this. I recommend you get a sample, and decide for yourself 😉

I gave up on attempting to like Navitus fragrances, as they just don’t work for me. I don’t believe they use high quality ingredients and they mostly smell synthetic and screechy. This one is no exception. I love the bottle so much! But I hated the juice. I was lucky enough to smell my friend's decant so I didn’t waste my own coin. Ughhh that musk they use in EVERYTHING just kills me.

In the opening I get a lot of a syrupy sour apple. I enjoy this scent as it is fun and playful. In the dry down it reminds me of Burberry Her which I already have so I do not need a whole bottle, especially for the price.

Very synthetic creamy yet acidic fruity candy that will give you cavities but a BEAST! the scent bubble after the more screechy opening is over is quite pleasant. This will stay on clothes for a whole week.

I have the all over body spray of this fragrance new in the box if anyone is interested. It performs insanely well

I think this was going to be my first Navitus fragrance but looking at these reviews...I'm £130 richer.
