Navus

So, before I write my review of Navus I just thought it was worth saying that I come at this completely objectively. I hadn’t even heard of Navitus as it’s not sold in the UK. It was only by reading an article about the brand that got me interested. The brand seems to stir up some emotion, no doubt because it’s linked to Steven Gavrielatos, who I wasn’t aware of either as I very rarely watch fragrance reviews online, preferring to read people’s reviews here or on BN instead. Firstly, it seems to me, imho, that this brand creates the same sort of reaction that Dior and Creed get, in that people will have emotive reactions, for whatever reason, without objectively testing the fragrance. At the end of the article about Navitus, there were some disparaging comments made by some members of the community but Mr Gavrielatos gave a passionate response and I think that’s to his credit. It still amazes me how bitchy this place can be at times which, personally, I find completely unnecessary. Having said that, I'm not really interested in the background of the owner/creative director or whatever, only the fragrance itself. So what about Navus? Well I’ve got to say, I love it. I’m really impressed with this juice. I have Creed, Frederic Malle, Roja Dove, Tom Ford and Killian fragrances etc. and yet this will become one of my favourites for sure. It is reminiscent of Elysium, which I also own and love, but it’s not a clone. This starts with very sharp notes of grapefruit and juniper with a slight soapiness from the neroli. Not too dissimilar to Elysium but the Dove is more complex, not as sharp and smells a bit richer with more depth. However, whereas my Elysium dissipates very quickly, the Navus keeps going. However, it’s in the drydown that this fragrance does it for me. Once the initial sharpness has subsided, I’m left with a lovely fresh citrus floral on a base of wood and clean musk, not too dissimilar to Le Labo’s Bergamot 22. I just adore this type of fragrance and it is done very well here, especially at this price point (I bought mine with 1/3 price reduction direct from Navitus). Performance seems very good for this type of fragrance too, with a fair degree of projection, without being in your face and outlasting both my Elysium and Bergamot 22 in terms of longevity, by quite some margin. The presentation is nice, although not outstanding but the sprayer works very well. I ordered my bottle direct from Navitus as I couldn’t see anywhere to buy it in the UK. Their customer service and communications were excellent, being both efficient and friendly. I’d originally purchased the wrong fragrance but they sorted it no bother at all. The bottle arrived in less than two weeks. All in all, an excellent purchase and at a third of the price of Elysium, a very good find indeed. Edit; Navitus is now sold from the UK

First impression on paper is a sharper, more masculine, less lactonic, more wearable version of Un Jardin sur la Nil. Love it! As it dries I get the association with Elysium and Nio.The more it dries the more it turns to the Elysium DNA but more green. On skin I definitely get the comparison to Nio. As the citrus burns off I start getting the Elysium DNA. I love it. Summer freshie banger right here! According to the brand's website, the bottle has been redesigned and is now blue. The fragrantica picture should be updated to reflect this...

I absolutely love fresh citrus fragrances, with a special soft spot for neroli. Some of my favourites are Tom Ford Neroli Portofino Forte & Mandarino Di Amalfi, also Xerjoff Nio & Mefisto. I had a 3ml sample of Navus and squeezed every little last wisp of fragrance out of it! This beautiful creation is perfectly unisex, gloriously fresh and aromatic, long lasting (5 hours on skin - great for me), and totally addictive. Buying a full bottle was a no brainer. Tick.

I don't get the sorta hate to this brand, Steven seems to be a nice man, and this brand lacks from maybe originality but in the same vein of PDM, Creed, and every brand out there, crowd pleaser brands yes, but the quality of Navus is something great, this juice is gold, smells fresh, rich, well blended and last +8hrs it's a 10/10 fragrance, yes it does smell in the same vibe as Elysium, Bio, HB reversed, CK one, but not a clone, and this last way longer.

This is a great release by Navitus. It's a citrus cocktail with floral and woody elements. Very fresh and clean ideal for office and hot days. Performance is very good, I'm currently on my 6th hours and I can still smell it on myself, sillage is also good. Hats off to Christian Carbonnel and Steven for this awesone frag.

I'm not a woman, so my opinion doesn't matter, especially in terms of perfurmery. This scent is really fresh, with a nice level of citrus; very clean. I've no idea why other frags are higher rated than this, let alone why this is rated only at a 3.43 right now. For the record, I think Meander is better than Enclave.

I love Navitus. I have all of the originals and a few of the new ones. I honestly have not been disappointed by one of them. Navus is obviously for the warmer weather. Performance all around is great just like every other Navitus release.

Re-sampling the final of the original seven Navitus Parfums releases, Navus, arguably the freshest of the septet. Navus immediately has the feel of a fresh-but-dry neroli/petitgrain-type mix that is executed with a slight but not overwhelming amount of tartness, accented with juniper, specifically, to my nose, though there are a handful of other florals that come out, though I do not detect them individually: rose, ylang-ylang, jasmine. I like that in contrast to Primas, Navus is a little less fruity, in fact, and the florals help with that, though Navus is comparably woody to Primas. Navus is overwhelmingly the fragrance of the original seven that is most apt for warm weather / summer wearing—particularly, the heat of a summer day. It’s a decent performer, as well, not quite as dense or long-lasting as Primas but of a similar ilk. Overall, I quite like it. Navus is priced similarly to most of the line, at $195/135 for 100/50ml, sold via the Navitus website as well as two US boutiques, Perfumology (of Philadelphia) and Osswald NYC. 7 out of 10

This is a pretty decent fragrance. I originally bought it because it was the most appealing to me when the brand started. I like the fuzzy citrus in the opening, clean and vibrant, I can smell how the neroli, pink pepper and vetiver support this going into the mids. I sense the amber, musk and cedar ever so slightly in the background all clean but add texture and dimension to the life of the fragrance. Not the holy grail but a clean, unisex, leaning slightly male, warm weather fragrance. It's about middle of the road quality, not very unique but has some elements that make it worth purchasing if you dont have a bunch of the same fragrance types.

Very good quality. It does smell like Xerjoff Nio. It ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT smell like Elysium. No disrespect to people who think it does, I just don't smell that at all. The reason I'm not getting a full bottle or even another decant is the note of Ylang-Ylang which I have never vibed with. It reads as "mature woman" to me. I also smell a pretty large dose of bitter petit-grain although it's not listed. The quality to price ratio of the Navitus perfumes always impresses me.

This has a lemon grass type of vibe to my nose. It's strong in the opening but dies down pretty fast. The opening is more of a lemonade-type of scent before the sweet juiciness goes away. There are some florals in this, but it's a little sharp which is not something I am used to. I think this is an ok scent. To me, someone who would wear this would like to come across as smelling sharp, fresh, and clean like Pinesol lol.

Someone just wrote me here via PM 'You are 100% correct, The guy is a Liar. I clearly remember him stating he is the OWNER in early videos. Then when the Reddit Detective Discovered his lie he NEVER addressed it. He just started calling himself the "Creative Director". What a crock of shit. All of these Youtubers want to dump on Jeremy but how many have the Heart to Jump in Head first like he did? Even that Mr.Smelly is only half owner.' Point is, don't take their opinions as non biased, some of them have a hidden agenda, always stick to samples first, never pull the trigger blindly based off a YouTube reviewer. I'm glad to see more people are seeing through this guy. He is able to generate trust in others based on his many informative previous videos and his dorky, non offensive nature. He is a megalomaniac just like jeremy and the others who are capitalizing on their viewers.

Christian Carbonnel has created a beautiful, long-lasting citrus fragrance with a bright woody background. This is like nothing else I've smelled. The bergamot and grapefruit are almost piercing at first, but they mellow out fairly quickly and last throughout the dry down. I struggle to detect the floral notes, but they might be blended so well that they don't really stand out. This becomes quite vetiver-centric on the dry down. Overall, one of my favorite summer fragrances to wear because I know it's not going to disappear anytime soon.

80% Un Jardin Sur Le Nil by Hermes 20% Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford

When I first smelled this, I thought generic shampoo bubbles. Ok - wasn't sure where this one was going. But once it started to settle, wow I really liked this! It's like a soapy version of Montblanc legend - a lot of similarity with the upper notes but then builds it's on a base of fun, clean watery type vibe. You then get hits of these pretty, light citrus-florals which remind me of something like a citrus-floral Chanel but I can't put my finger on it ( I expected to like this the least, but now I actually might like it the most of the 6 Navitus I have samples. To me, it's one of their most original in that it does grab some ideas from other fragrances, but arrives there in it's totally own way and then combines other things in a way that I haven't smelled yet. BUT... ya, if you want something to compare it to - imagine Chanel making a lighter, unisex version of Legend. A+++ *But when I say lighter, I don't mean it performs less. Actually still testing performance but I think it will be at least above average like the rest of this line

Cons: I am super allergic to Jasmine and other White flowers, so even though they are background notes on this fragrance, they still overpowered the scent for me and triggered my asthma. Pros: If you're looking for a citrus aromatic and want a break from mainstreamers like Versace and Hermes... DO NOT skip this one. It is one of the most organic smelling citrus bombs I've ever experienced, and I love it. Although my allergies will prevent me from wearing it on skin, I still plan on taking some Claritin and using this in room defusers.

Great warm weather citrus fragrance with a sharp fizziness opening, akin to a refreshing sparkling beverage. Excellent quality and longevity and very aristocratic. I’d wear this day or night with a crisp white polo. It’s unique and sexy enough for special occasions or date night, but also good for every day wear or the office, if applied minimally.

My nickname for Steven from his YouTube channel "Redolessence" is the "wizard", and the wizard has come out with a great line of fragrances. Navus is an exceptional summer fragrance. The opening reminds me of Terre D' Hermes Fraiche, but it has it's uniqueness from the mid to the drydown. Excellent perfumery from Christian Carbonnel.

Excellent fragrance!! A summer gem, refreshing, uplifting, classy and natural smelling! It has admirable lasting power and projection. Rating can be so misleading, rating of this fragrance is a proof of that!! 8.5/10
