Xenial

So I just received Xenial yesterday afternoon around 3pm EST and I’m wowed by the presentation more than I was the smell of the fragrance. Now don’t get me wrong this fragrance doesn’t smell bad by any stretch of the imagination, but for $248 after a 30% discount it’s still not worth the money in my honest opinion. Especially for being a limited release I thought my socks would’ve been blown off, but disappointedly they weren’t. I hate to talk negatively about this fragrance, but it missed the mark at least for me by a long shot. I’ll give it this though it is quite unique and doesn’t smell similar let alone familiar to anything that I have in my collection of over 150 designer/niche fragrances. But for $248 I was expecting it to be a groundbreaking fragrance that mesmerized me. I think the main reason I feel this way is because the longevity of this fragrance is subpar. So when one spends this amount of money on anything you expect it to meet all expectations not just some. In any case, I had put this on at 4pm when I went out and it did perform decently well and projected at arms length for about 2 hours but by 7pm it turned into a skin scent and by 9pm it was surprisingly nonexistent. Hopefully it just needs time to macerate and it’s currently not agreeing with my chemistry. I will most definitely update this review later in time if anything changes for the better. But, at the moment I give Xenial a 6.5/10. Only time will tell if my assessment will change and I sure hope it does. Update: After maceration this fragrance developed into an exquisite alluring seductive masterpiece! It was well worth the wait I should’ve updated this review sooner! Now I give this fragrance a 9/10! This is a gentleman’s fragrance with a bit of ruggedness. Bravo!!!

At first, I get a spicy rum & cola scent. The spices increase and a little bit of greenery peeks out in the mid/drydown. Drydown is a spicy and slightly sweet tobacco. Easy to love. The master perfumer says it all. Worth every penny! Presentation is more than words can describe, especially since the smell backs it up ten-fold

Somehow got my hands on an official sample of this and it's an odd fragrance. Xenial is a fragrance that doesn't know what it wants to be, it doesn't commit to being either a citrus or a tobacco fragrance. The opening is weird, you get an incomplete boozy note paired with some orange and a not so prominent tobacco. It's somewhat powdery but it's also dry and bitter, for some reason the way I picture the smell is like chapped makeup. It also has a nutty finish that overall makes me think of this as an old scent, not in the sense that it's old fashioned in style, more like you're entering an antiques store with lots of wooden items or the house of your aunt/grandma that smokes a lot and wears powdery floral fragrances. After about two hours the skin scent is almost pure clary sage, very floral and clean to the point of being soapy but without the detergent quality a lot of soapy/aldehydic notes have. I'd say it's pretty nice at this stage but by this point it's already a skin scent. After another hour or so the clary sage fades and you're left with a woody and vanillic skin scent with a tinge of tobacco and the orange from the opening. Honestly I would have liked this much more if it went fully into a boozy tobacco and orange scent instead of trying to push the clary sage and citruses to take center stage. Performance is underwhelming but my sample wasn't spraying well so it's probably why it didn't do well. Projection seemed moderate but sillage was pretty dense during the two hours the scent projected. Longevity is a bit short lived for a fragrance like this, lasting around 6 hours. This fragrance is more suited for evening wear anyways so I suppose this is an acceptable longevity.

I can safely say that this scent falls below expectations, which is rather unfortunate. It’s very difficult to justify the price tag for what you’re getting in return. Yes, the presentation is rather grand, but what ultimately matters is the content. In terms of the scent, I would say that it is rather unique and I personally haven’t smelt anything that quite resembles it exactly. The whiskey note stands out, but due to the presence of other herbal notes, you end up sensing more of a licorice vibe. Performance is rather average, although the initial sprays certainly come off as strong blasts that hit you hard (not necessarily in a bad way). Overall, this perfume is okay. It’s definitely not a bad scent, but again, hard to say that it’s worth the price.

So I was really disappointed with this one. The fragrance is nothing more that a sweet woody fragrance. There is no other notes to my nose other than a deeply "perfumey" style of very sweet woods.....there is not development further for this one. Its basically sweet cedar wood and it can almost smell feminine for me. This is a pass for me and I had high hopes but the brand seems to be a high quality brand. Edit: This smells similar to honey aoud by Montale. But that fragrance is cheaper and much much better. I was going through my decants and realized it's very very similar. But honey aoud is so much better. And it's a lot cheaper.

I ordered it and never received...sent 48 emails never responded..Texted comment to Steve on YouTube and he said he will refund me but never refunded . Filed dispute .. Do not buy Navitus and be aware.

Awful Awful perfume. Smells like shampoooy not worth $10. avoid these perfumes honestly.
