I received a sample of this from the Perfumery Barcelona when purchasing a full bottle of a Miguel Matos scent. Wearing it today and it's an absolutely gorgeous, full blooded white floral. The orange blossom and tuberose combination starts of with a slight green bitterness, which mellows out over the hours into a fleshy, petal laden stunning floral. I'm surprised jasmine isn't listed here as that's the overall main impression I get. The animalic aspects honestly are fairly minimal on my skin, I wouldn't pick these out save for the notes and can't say I notice many of the others either (tobacco, mate, tonka etc). This is much more my style than other big white florals from Matos e.g. Jungle Jezebel and Fado Jasmim, both of which for me were completely unwearable to due to the level of animalics. This, however, is perfect for my tastes. The downside of that, is that this composition is less unique - I already own a couple of scents that fill this same need for me, the most similar is Byredo's Flowerhead. In the drydown, they smell very similar to me, the floral foreground with moderate sweetness and a touch of powdery texture, with a base of suede that adds a depth and means both last all day with a noticeable sillage. I thoroughly enjoy this and would definitely consider buying if not for already having similar scents in my collection.

If forbidden love were safe. A new year starts and you're off to your college classes, walking down the corridors just waiting for something to happen other than your studies. You stroll through the musky air when it happens. You catch a powdery sweetness that just makes you turn around. That's when your eyes meet. A faint smile appears causing your heart to start beating faster, up into your eardrums. The viscerality of the attraction is electrifying - you hear nothing and see only one. The moment is gone as they open the door to their class, vanishing into Economics 101.

I try my best not to be biased when writing about Miguel's creations because he's my favorite perfumer. I also don't expect to like everything he does and I approach every scent with an open mind. Ocaña is a mix of many things I have smelled before, a sweet ambery white floral with interesting nuances that try to keep the fragrance fighting for its money but somehow fails to do so for more than 30 min. Apart from ambery vanilla and a mix of white flowers where tiare and tuberose fight with each other, the dry tea green earthy note and the very nice musk reminiscent of Francesca Bianchi's, I expected a bit more, but hey I know I can't be too demanding and I still like the fragrance, just not enough to shoot for a full bottle.

I am beginning to appreciate more of Miguel's creations. This, like Akelarre, will take you on a journey. It will challenge the norms. Can it be worn by anyone? Yes! I think more feminine but still unisex if you are willing to push the boundaries. Great visuals listed below by those who reviewed before me. I have enjoyed most of the offerings i have tried from this house. This was a sample that came with my purchase of Akelarre. I love the bottle design. A tad expensive for 50ML. But not unreasonable for niche. Especially of this caliber. Settles with a scent that i can relate to in life. Not FB for me but it is a great product.

The opening to this is very bitter and dirty, but leave it to settle and it becomes a gorgeous white floral scent. It smells like the whole flower and stem, sat in a pot on the windowsill, as you drink a mate tea. Sweet, alluring, petally, herbal, soily.
