wife got me neanderthal was from our local niche fragrance store for valentines day. each step of this formulation is like an entirely different fragrance. it opens with fresh spices, citrusy and bright. a faint church incense scent. in the middle the church incense really shines. and it radiates quite nicely. the dry down is like a designer ambery vanilla but done the opposite of designers. where designers smack you in the face with ambery vanilla thru out the life of the fragrance, was only lets it come out in a very subtle way in the dry down several hours after initial application. overall a very wearable scent. mass appealing across the life of the scent but in completely different ways. an absolute favorite in my collection.

This is very different on skin to a test on paper. Second wear and this shoots into my rolling top 10. It's old books in dry old bookcases, covered in the dust of a hundred incense sticks in an old rectory where your childhood best friend lives. The nutmeg, clove and cardamon are perfectly balanced with the woods and musk and nothing dominates. All the elements speak gently to each other with a beautiful subtle power. For my nose it's damn near perfect.

oh the cardamom is fantastic in this. altogether it smells like the freshest incense you've ever burned. i wasn't very impressed smelling it from the bottle, but it gets more complex when worn. at least for me!

There is no such thing as an ''Space bomb''. It's called spicebomb, dont disrespect my goat

Green, fresh spicy, woody and resinous. When I smell it, I picture a great evergreen tree (like a cypress) with its dark green leaves and a mighty trunk. It stands in a forest during winter, yet it radiates a comforting wave of warmth, heating up the whole surrounding area. The heat is so intense that the tree seems to burn itself, leaving a trail of smoke in the background. In the end, when the fire dies down, all that remains are a few leaves resting on the trunk.

Despite the listed notes, it doesn’t smell fresh at all. It has a dark, almost eerie iris that’s slightly reminiscent of powdery church incense and black pepper. Definitely not a people-pleaser, but not irritatingly dark either. The iris isn’t in your face like in DHI, nor does it feel makeup-y. More of a collector’s piece, as it’s rather weak. Overall, it smells like an abandoned cave that was once used as a church...

Was, like its sister fragrance Is, brags about being composed by AI, and both are minimalist to the point of being ripoffs, but Was is a bit more interesting. It starts out boozy and spicy, like warm incense or cloves; then gets dominated by a powdery iris. The spice-and-iris combination is original and pleasant, though overall this is a very weak scent and much simpler than Neandertal's older work. Still not an exceptional fragrance, but it has some charm.

Very spicy and clove-forward. Agree with the incense and old books. The iris is not super powdery, more woody. Slightly plasticky if you bury your nose in it - I think this one is best at a distance or in the air. Has a little vintage aftershave character to it which I usually associate with vetiver-heavy perfumes. Overall pretty cool and unique.

Who is this Edgar Allan Reviews and how do I block them? Didn't even read the content of the lines just annoyed at the amount of messages and no longer want to see them.

I state that I want to see proper commentary for this perfume, and some clown says I fall for ragebait 😒 That aside, I want this perfume solely for the cardamom
