Edit: seems like a lot of u folks are having a hell of a hard time ordering or getting ur order processed, 3-4 yrs ago is when i ordered this bottle and got it from Kuwait in 2 weeks max (?) without an issue, so this review is exclusively based on the scent alone! I literally got this perfume because my name is Laya, after reading so many good reviews I finally ordered it. Although this DNA, woody vanillic powdery, has been replicated in the Middle East a million times, this one specifically stands out to me. It starts with an aggressive woody opening and a strong hint of cedar with a just the slightest hint of a "friendly" oud, that's not stinky/smoky, more like fresh agar wood if that's a thing; it's still woody more than smoky/barnyardy. It dries down to a powdery vanilla, really powdery but just the right amount (don't be afraid it doesn't smell like baby powder) and I get tonka beans although it's not listed. To me it is definitely worth $120 cause it smells luxurious and fills the room in the best way possible, u can even wear it on warm summer nights. Imagine all the beautiful Middle Eastern rose + oud + vanilla combos you've smelled, take out the rose, amp up the wood and tone down the oud. It lasts a loooooong time on your clothes like days and has a good projection. I have heard from a youtuber that this is very similar to mercedes club black, but I have not smelled that one, in case anyone wants an alternative. The con? the nozzle/atomizer leaks aggressively unfortunately.

Laya is the truth! This perfume is incredible. It is a sweet, powdery, beast. The vanilla is sweet and mixes nicely with the woods, the oud is subtle (i am sensitive to oud) and in the dry down, I think I smell honey? The dry down (after several hours wear) reminds me of Delox. It's so sweet and lasts so long. I am an over sprayer but it does last several hours, especially on clothes. If you like Roses Vanille, I think you would like this. For the cooler weather I would say. I found it very hard to get hold of at first and when it became available again, I very quickly bought a back up bottle and I had to pay the customs charges to get it, which made it rather expensive but I have heard worse. It's in my top 5 and I can't see if going anywhere if I have anything to do with it. 2025 I have now purchased all 3 batches and being on my second bottle, I can see the difference between the one with the wooden lid and black lid. My preferred is the version with the longer black lid. I have yet to open the most recent version (also with the black lid) so i do hope i like it. The only thing is, this fragrance has at least tripled in price and isn't so easy to get hold of.

I accidentally smelled this beautiful perfume while I hunted down 20% cosmetics sale at Sephora. I walked pass the Ne'emah fragrances and notice the black perfume bottles which was beautiful and mysterious. I sprayed Laya on my wrist and didn't concentrate much because I did not plan to buy perfume that day. After I came home and shower, the smell of Laya on my wrist was so nice I couldn't sleep but keep google about the brand and the perfumer behind this miracle. In the morning it still smell so beautiful then I decide to buy this yummy fragrance. Laya is something I never smell before. It has mysterious vibe that I am not sure about. The scent is strong enough to get you noticed but not too overpowering. Yummy vanilla and powder also I think I smell some honey and rose too. My male friends keep asking what perfume I wear they find it very sexy and not too sweet. Sephora in my country imported 4 of Ne'emah fragrances which are Laya, Dessert rose, Shaala, and Ne'emah pour homme. I bought Laya for around 80 USD for 100 ml bottle. Sillage is good and it last very long on my skin. If you have a chance please don't hesitate to try it.

This fragrance is sweet. Really, really sweet. Like you've added too much condensed milk into your Thai iced milk tea. On me, I don't get much of the powdery notes, which I prefer. The vanilla and woody notes are the most dominant on me. Also, the vanilla has a really boozy quality that transports me back to Istanbul's Grand Bazaar, strolling through the spice area. Or the harem of 16th Century Ottoman Sultan Suleiman I, assisting the court ladies with getting ready for the day (or night). Projection is really strong with this one - it can become headache inducing if over sprayed. Less is more, in this case. I can still smell it on my wrists even after a shower. I can see the association with 'Cologne of the Missions', although I feel 'Missions' is more pure Vanilla Extract (used in baking) than anything else. I wish I was able to detect the Chocolate note that some commenters have detected. The composition of 'Laya' may be minimal, yet there is a measure of depth that is present. One of my favourite fragrances that I've come across so far! P.S. It is also available at Sephoras in Singapore.

When my best friend went to Dubai, I had one request: Bring me back Laya. And so she did, going to Sephora in Dubai, just to get me this extraordinary juice. When I wear it, the oud notes conjure this memory: 20 years ago my ex went to Dubai and brought me back a bottle of oud perfume. It opened in his luggage: his apartment wafted heavily of the magical scent for days and days. I kept the bottle, and the love of oud notes outlasted the relationship by many decades. It’s a sweet brew, I might even say gourmand, with the oud notes enveloping it from first spritz to creamy dry down. Until very recently, I hadn’t encountered another juice quite like it, until I tried Cacharel’s flanker “Yes I AM Fabulous.” Although fruiter, to my nose, there are notes that resonate. That being said—Laya is in a league of its own. Longevity: 10/10 Scent: 9/10 Sillage: Gorgeous Monster, Come Hither.

i have been exposed to 3 bottles of this since 2020 and EACH OF THEM SMELLS LIKE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FRAGRANCE. my oldest batch from 2020 smelled like a cedar + powder bomb, extremely woody and I didn't understand the comparisons with montale intense cafe/mancera roses vanille. the mid-batch is extremely rosy! there's a faint woody DNA but it smells like nuql/noghl, there's a rose water + lots of vanilla + an extremely irritatingly synthetic amberwood. the third one, which i bought in 2023 from Sephora Middle East (UAE), smells like the most delicious boozy/woody/powdery vanilla that has no sharpness, with a fluffy cloud that makes everyone stops u and ask what u r wearing. in conclusion, 3 different bottles of the same perfume, each smelled completely different, hence the crazy comparisons on fragrantica and drastically different experiences.

This is my first blind buy and it was such a success I’m tempted to test my luck. Laya is the perfect cozy, dark, edible vanilla fragrance. The oud is sweet and subtle, even upon first spray, you can sense it within the opening but it blends in beautifully. This fragrance sparked my love affair with vanilla fragrances. I’m surprised it has not been mentioned here, but this is strikingly similar to Jo Malone’s velvet rose and oud, which has a praline and sweet oud in its drydown. I far prefer this scent because it is creamy and rounded, while the former lacked longevity and was watery to my nose. This is my most complimented perfume, and I have been asked what I was wearing because it smelled so luxurious! The vanillic trail is stunning.

I purchased this fragrance from sephora at Dubai mall years ago. I do not know if it is still available but for those who cannot find it, I recommend Mercedes Club Black. They both smell %90 similar and they are both strong. It is a vanilla bomb with soft oud. It is a gourmand fragrance and totally unisex. It is not a versatile fragrance and you have to pick and choose the right occasion for it. One bottle will last you years. It projects like a beast, definetly a room filler. The guy works at sephora told me that it could only be purchased at Dubai mall at the time but again if you want one and cannot find it just buy mercedes club black. It is a bit cheaper, smells same and just as strong.

SO UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL. It was love at first sniff. Laya smells like a creamy yet powdery vanilla ice cream coated with a sprinkle of oud. The best part is the sneaky milk chocolate note that weaves through the fragrance, elevating it beyond just another woody vanilla. It is a rich fragrance, and when I catch wafts of it during the dry down stage, I literally have to stop and appreciate the addictive vanillic trail. It is so perfect. I should also mention that this fragrance is long lasting and projects well. For western audiences, this is a great introductory oud, perfect for all occasions.

This fragrance is AMAZING. I wish it were available in the US. I purchased it from a legit seller on eBay located in Dubai and received it less than a week. The vanillic trail this leaves behind is mesmerizing. I've worn this twice and have received numerous compliments each time. I think this fragrance is better suited for cooler weather, so I'll have to put this away soon, but it will be loved in the fall. I may need to purchase a backup just in case it becomes more challenging to find.

I really don't understand the smells similar to section.. lol this is No vanilla 28 that's a boozey hot mess. LAYA is a gorgeous deep woody vanilla. I have no experience with oud so I can't comment on that but to my nose Laya smells like vanilla & incense if that helps. I really love this fragrance, the projection sillage scent trail & longevity are all great! I'm definitely getting a backup bottle ❤ and very intrigued by this house

A deliciously smooth vanilla, tonka bean, cedar scent with a touch of oud. Laya is wearable, likeable and has insane projection and longevity. What more can you ask for? There is no question as to why this beauty is a huge bestseller in the Middle East. I took too long to obtain this beauty, but I love you forever now, Laya! If you like sweet, vanilla gourmand scents that gets you noticed - you'd love this! 10/10

*update* 1/30/25 ♡~ I just purchased 2 from eBay (trusted-same guy I bought my first one from 2 years ago) he has 1 bottle left if anyone else has been hunting like I was. Can anyone in the USA tell me where I can buy this? I haven't been able to locate this perfume since I blind bought it on ebay. Help, I need a new bottle! Has it been discontinued? It's just so beautiful, powdery vanilla.

Oh my God. How can I describe this perfume. I accidentally passed by 2 women who were spraying this and upon catching the first whiff, I had to ask what it was. When I tried it on my wrist I knew I had to buy it. That all happened 15 min ago and now I am walking with my own full sized bottle. Mesmerizing enchanting, I can detect a milk chocolate note though it is not listed.. masterpiece

This perfume is the reason why I fell in love with my best friend, now my boyfriend. I loved that mild sexy smell on him. It is so unlike all the other aggressive male perfumes that suffocate me usually. This one is mysterious, sexy and soft vanilla smell that you aren't sure is it unisex or men perfume. It's intoxicating and addictive smell. My boyfriend isn't allowed to change it.

This a really simple yet sophisticated scent, not for hot weathers and should be used sparingly as little goes a long way with great projection. I agree it is a well blended vanilla-powdery combo, you can enjoy it for days on fabrics. Roses Vanille by Mancera would be a good alternative,85% match but with lesser projection and longevity imho

This is my all time favorite perfume! It’s powdery and mature vanilla not straight up bbw vanilla perfume! It’s feminine and Devine and lasts greatly on my clothes. Smells like a delicious woody powdery vanilla without smelling childish really love it I think every girl should try it. I sadly can’t seem to find it anymore though.

I just rediscovered my love for this perfume. This is such a beautiful powdery vanilla, it's my boyfriend's favourite perfume on me. I love layering this with Nirvana Black to elevate the fragrance with some sandalwood and violet. It's definitely a favourite, and I have so many pleasant memories while wearing this scent!

I got it last year when I was in Dubai,I have had many many perfumes ,but this one is for sure my favorite!I love LAYA!! SO strong yet,so delicate and taking you on a journey to Middle East just in one spray...

This is the best, I used Body and Bath Works, Giorgio Armani Si before but ... that one not too sweet, just soft,nice to smell..but this Laya....very2 sweet and good.. I've bought it yesterday from Sephora

I am still new to this one, but i am loving it so far. it gives two rarely combined results: subtle & oriental. I will update my review soon when i get familiar with it!

Wonderful for those who love oud and those who don't this is such a delicious and dominating fragrance..u gotta have it at least once..

Very strong resemblance to Arabians Tonka from Montale, except Laya is smoother and rounder, more linear.

This CAN be ordered and delivered to the US, I just received mine today. Just know that it took many weeks for them to even process my order, and I ordered when this was in stock, according to their web site. I was finally told my order was being shipped, then weeks later when it still wasn’t shipped I had to contact them for the THIRD time to nearly threaten them demanding a refund or tracking info, and THEN my order was processed and I received this DELICIOUS juice within a week. Woot! It was very much worth the trouble. It’s a great deal for the money, it’s NOT overly Oud-y at all, though it’s definitely meant for cool weather so I’m putting it away for Fall/Winter. Yum!

Strong vanilla with a chocolate oud. This does smell like a less fruity Midnight Shimmer by Micheal Kors. The oud is very prominent but it's a sweet, gentle oud. The cedar in the middle is stronger than I would like it to be. Honestly, I wish there was no cedar at all. Then I might think this was perfect, but the cedar is giving it a sweet astringent sawdust vibe I dislike. My nose often picks up cedar this way and it has ruined many a fine fragrance for me. However, at least it's in the middle and not so strong in the base. You really do not need much of this. One spray is enough. Very strong perfume with big projection and lasting power.

Smells just like michael kors midnight shimmer to me except this is a little musky/woodier and doesn't have the juicy fruit punch. If i didn't already own shimmer i would have gone for this, its a really rich woody vanilla scent. Perfect for cool weather.

A very very sweet oud with a long lasting effect. It was a gift and I use it very carefully because it radiates heavily. My friends adore it, it's addictive for those, who love sweet perfumes.I only use it occasionally since it is a bit too much for me.

Best batch is the older bottle with a wooden brown cap, more vanillic. The image shown is like they have mixed intense cafe in with it. Much prefer the original. Very similar is jimmy choo vanilla love but not as strong.

Easily the most beautiful and sensual fragrance I've ever whiffed. Excellent projection, but unfortunately too strong for me (I get headaches). I'm in the states if someone wants to swap!

Smells like Lynx/Axe Oud Wood & Dark Vanilla, which is not surprising given the notes. Perhaps a bit nicer due to the powdery notes.

I have a 10ml decant if anyone is interested in buying - I can’t see myself reaching for this over others in my collection.

Blind buy FAIL. This is EXTREMELY STRONG. I don’t get any softness or powdery notes. Too much oud, too harsh for my taste, and it is eternal. JUST tested it and I couldn’t handle it. Definitely not for me, I tend to like florals, soft, powdery, musky, amber, iris, vanilla and semi gourmands.

I became obsessed with scouring the internet for all kinds of opinions on this perfume and EVERYONE LOVES IT. I bought mine from a well-received experienced seller on eBay for $150 Canadian and it shipped from Dubai to Toronto in 7 days.... INSANE. When I first received it, it was freezing cold from shipping BUT I had to smell it and was just slightly disappointed with HOW SIMILAR it was to Mancera Roses Vanille. I already have Intense Cafe so I was like “eh i cant hate this but I want more” Today I did a full wear test and OH MY GOD! This is the CREAMY part of Roses Vanille turned up to 10z This is ROSES VANILLE without the beer opening and any harsh rose smell + Mercedes Benz Club Black + A BEAUTIFUL SOFT OUD. This is one of the creamiest ouds I have ever smelt! The review below said “sneaky milk chocolate” and omg at first I thought I wasn’t going to get it but the experience of wearing it you will totally understand it. I had two coworkers smell it off of me and their eyes opened wider. Imagine what I was feeling having this creamy vanilla surround me all day. Sillage: 10/10 Longevity: 15/10 Experience: 100/10 This was an expensive blind buy.... but omg such a safe one. The perfumer went OFF here. I’m honestly grateful to own it and I feel like so unique and special having it literally imported from Dubai lol !

Delicious dreams.. Ohhh Laya ......what can I say? A friend of mine recommended this scent to me which I purchased blindly from the Ne’emah website. I am surprised it is not more commonly known outside the Middle East since it is an absolute gem. This fragrance smells good enough to eat. It is a deliciously seductive creamy vanilla with a touch of oud. It is feminine, elegant and inviting. Hands down, it is one of the nicest perfumes I have come across and believe me, I have smelt and owned many in my time. Longevity and silage are excellent in this rich composition. Furthermore, Laya has that Arabian flavour to it. However it would be equally alluring to the Western nose since the touch of oud here is non offensive and simply rounds off the creamy vanilla, providing a body for it to lovingly cling to in their sensual love affair. The problem is I just can’t work out who seduced who first? Was it the creamy vanilla with all its feminine charm or the oud wood with its strength and warmth. Mind you, who even cares.. one thing is for sure, when this pair come together, the result is one of innate beauty.. For me, Laya is such a luxurious fragrance. Quite simply, I can’t imagine life without it now and it has become my new romantic signature scent. Ohhh Laya....what an irresistible heart melter you are.....

You know you have found your signature, when you honestly cannot imagine yourself without a fragrance, with it you feel comfortable and as though it enhances all that is *you* - I've had this experience with Laya, the first from this range that I have tried. This is purple velvet and smoke on the skin. Crumbling castles, fog over a lake, secret passages up into turreted rooms. It's cold stone and warm fire. It touches on everything from a medieval locale through to a foreign desert at dusk where exotic fragrances fill the air, or a Victorian bedroom. It's erstwhile, but gothic, embery but vivid. The way the oud, the vanilla and the wood notes work together is heartbreaking beauty. Utterly womanly and different, a landmark fragrance that I have never smelled elsewhere and will wear forever I do think. The lasting power is insane, the notes together linger and rotate throughout the hours. I feel mysterious, feminine, provocative, sensuous, gorgeous. Very much a scent for a dark lip and a vampy look.

I went to the Gold Coast today here in Australia and visited the newly revamped Pacific Fair which houses now a Sephora retail outlet as well. A sales assistant drew my attention to the Ne'emah perfume range. I tested Laya, Chateau Rouge and the pour homme scent. I sprayed myself all over with Laya and this intoxicating blend of oils and other ingredients followed me until late at night. My hubby thought I smelled a bit like an oriental bazaar lol which he meant in a positive way. The scents are very smoothly blended and downright beautiful. I agree with the other posotive reviws here. I was at first a bit sceptic to try Chateau Rouge because of the jasmine and rose but they are delightfully blended with everything else and are not overpowering/dominant at all. I was also surprised at the decent price tag for the great quality. I definitely plan to add Laya and Chateau Rouge to my collection. I was told that this perfume range is sold exclusively through Sephora.

This is one of the most beautiful, exotic perfumes I have ever smelled. When we were in the UAE my sister got us onto this amazing perfume and it is so luxurious, mysterious, exotic, soft and powdery all at the same time. It lasts a long time on my skin and I get so many compliments when I wear this as it leaves behind a very nice trail. I wish it were available here in Canada but I was able to order direct online and get some delivered to me, thank God! haha I have never smelled another perfume so far that even smells similar or comes close to this one. Get it if you can!

All the notes are definitely there but I’d say above all it’s musky. Like synthetic wood musk, iso e or something with vanilla and a bit of powder. Like a molecule fragrance with added vanilla. Reminds me a ton of Dionisio. Musk is my favorite note so I love it. It’s subtle, not a crazy projector unless I go nose blind easily to these molecules.. I’ll have to see if people can smell it on me.

Begins with a vanilla cola, then settles into a oud with a very slight tinge of insecticide. Fumes for hours. When it totally dries, dead oud. Moth feeling especially after contact with water or shower. As with all oud perfumes, stains white clothing. Worth keeping as one collectors item although perfumes with oud can be alot more interesting than this. Definitely reminds one of middle east.

Dry down smells like a powdery vintage black top The Body Shop Vanilla Oil which I have a 15ML version of, but with this one you’ll also get woods and some oud similar but not as strong as Shaghaf Oud. Laya is really one the most addicting vanilla scents I have. If you have tried Shaghaf Oud this is similar but with the Oud turned down and vanilla/powder amped up to 11.

I’m crying why do I have discontinued perfumes that are literally an addictive dream and if I run out I literally can never smell again. Does this make anyone else like really SAD? Yeah there’s nothing that smells like this, it is this majestic mix of gentle fluidity gold and Mercedes Benz club black and now it’s like 300+ to get to Canada BYE 🫩🫩🫩🫩

I ordered Laya at the end of August and it finally arrived today in NY. It was a blind buy but I absolutely love it and I agree it is a safe blind buy if the notes and the description appeal to you. It pretty much smells exactly how I pictured it. It is beautiful, sweet and sexy but it is not overpowering. It is perfect!

It's a beautiful fragrance, but I find it quite similar to the trending scent profile of vanilla, rose, & oud combo that more popular fragrances as intense café & roses vanille also have. Laya is more airy than the previous two, but if you have any of them you don't need the other.

Laya is available from Sephora Australia. The woody notes are very similar to the heart of Cologne of the Missions/Guerlain SDV.
