The people at Negligé Perfume Lab miraculously got this to me in the States and remained in touch throughout. Yes, during the war. Unbelievable. Joseph Sons is unique. Fresh, quite herbal and almost bitter or absinthe-like in the opening. The freshness continues through the evolution, joined at some point by a clean skin scent - reminiscent of a child's shampoo, very appropriate considering the story behind the scent which describes the smell of the crown of the head of a child living at the edge of a desert. It does indeed evoke wild rare herbs, a little leather, not so much smoke as I expected from the notes, but still it is there. It all adds up to something indefinable, complex, sandy, herbal, a little smoky, very nostalgic somehow. The other scent I have of theirs, Nude, is a very girly floral perfume, with a beautiful jasmine, also quite complex in the drydown. Again this kind of nostalgic and very natural feeling. An impressive house.
