The Element

I can define the NEH concept as an equilibrium of the senses with the parts of our self, with the roots, with the family, with our pleasures and with the communion with nature. A balance in which each perfume reveals a meditative and contemplative state of mind and brings out parts of us that we have forgotten or have not seen yet. This mindfulness journey is perfectly reflected in this concept - the soul and the spirit connected to our six senses. The Element - contemplation - is a fragrance that takes me to an oriental temple and aromatic incense sticks.

The Element feels like an amazing multi layer perfume. First it is fresh and fruity because of the lychee and mandora and then it gets warm and sweet. The vanilla and caramel add something special to the mix. Like all of the perfumes of the house, the projection and longevity are great. An elegant perfume that feels both delicate and playful at the same time. I can't wait to purchase a full bottle as I'm sure it will become one of my signature scents!

This is a hidden gem! Amazing scent that get's even better when it settles down on the skin. Performance is OK/better than average but not beastly. The unique thing here is the citruses combines with fruity amber and warmth. Since it's both citrusy and has that amber, I would say you can use this in every occasion as it's very versatile. Highly recommend this!

The Element is built around a warm base of benzoin, patchouli, caramel, vanilla, Ambron, and oakmoss. When I first smelled this perfume, it felt like a real burst of energy. It instantly made me feel motivated. I think the blend of ingredients is perfectly balanced, making it suitable for any occasion. It’s not too overpowering, which makes it easy to wear anywhere and anytime.

Notes from the brand: "I remember that life is a playground and I am the element that brings it alive." Last week, I joined NEH’s virtual Scent and Sound Ceremony and met founder Tara Derakshan. She explained that The Element captures the feeling of letting go of self-doubt and singing in front of an audience like no one’s watching. In short, this perfume is meant to inspire feelings of liberation. For a shy musician like me, this hit hard 🎶 The scent? A fresh, modern fougère with welcome surprises. The opening is Delina-esque, with the tried and true citrus, lychee, and rose opening 🍋🌹 But then the tonka bean steps in immediately with cozy warmth. As it dries, the balsamic, evergreen scent of elemi peeks through. Despite both being listed as base notes, I feel the patchouli comes forward before the oakmoss. While these woody notes are strong on my test strip, on my skin, the vanilla, benzoin, and caramel unfurl in wave after wave, radiating a sweet, irresistible warmth that feels like it’s blooming endlessly. The rose note lasts throughout most of the fragrance's lifetime, which I appreciate 🙂 Longevity? Moderate, not beastly (surprising, given the strength of those base notes). One of my girlfriends smelled this and told me that while she avoids patchouli, she found The Element utterly addicting. She kept coming back for a third, fourth... maybe a fifth whiff. Guess the tonka and rose worked their magic 🪄🔮 I love it when someone tells me I smell irresistible 😳

The Element starts off rather fresh and juicy thanks to the lychee and mandora but then, the amber, vanilla and caramel dominate throughout the fragrance's lifetime while a hint of patchouli lingers in the background, creating a sweet but not cloying scent. The longevity is good (6-7 hours) and the sillage and projection are slightly above average. Overall very nice ! My third favorite of the house.

Solid, charming, sweetish easy to wear amber. Surprisingly good, friendly! I get candied black pepper in the mix.

It smells as though I walked into a lumber store filled with vanilla-scented candles, and somehow came out smelling of burnt caramel and cedar pencils. To me, this is very heavy on amber, caramel and woody tones, with a dense sweetness running through it. It feels warm and thick, thanks to the tonka and elemi, all wrapped in a glossy ambered haze. Altogether, it is sweet, woody, resinous and slightly synthetic, but in a polished, high-projection way. Is it just me, or does this sit very close to Baccarat Rouge 540? Not 100% identical, but I sprayed them both on different arms and, to me, they really do sit very close to each other.

Warm, ambery-vanillin-caramel blend. A bit plasticky. No fruit or floral to my nose. At all. Not bad, but nothing special.

Wow, this is a stunning rich fragrance. I don't get any of the lychee or really anything even remotely fruity here. This reminds me of L'Artisan Amber d'Extreme...this is an amber and vanilla bomb...it does have a caramel nuance to it but I can't say I smell a full on caramel note. I don't know, all I know is this reminds me so much of some of my favorite vintage vanilla heavy ambers...Laura Mercier Ambre Passion and some Histoires Amber 114. Not as heavy as 114...more like Ambre d' Extreme. This is REALLY good. Longevity seems pretty decent...projection not as heavy as I'd like it to be but I feel like I may be going noseblind to a lot of fragrances lately so it might be me. I have a feeling that this performs like Ambre d'Extreme...I always feel like I can't smell it but other people do. If you love spicy vanilla heavy ambers like 114, Ambre Sultan, etc. you would probably really love this!! Edit: I just rummaged through all of my amber frags and samples...this smells like Kerosene Promises Promises which is a LOVE of mine. Promises Promises + Ambre d'Extreme. 😍
